Keccak took the IPO money and went to Mali. he is having some fun there  Tongue
And so what? First of all, you could sell it when market price was higher then IPO price. Secondly, no one forced you to invest. If you lost some btc on IPO blame it on yourself.

Only made money on HVC, even while mining and IPO at about 170% investment rate (3400 vs 5900). Some made even more.

Good coin by idea, bad coin by maintenance but I'm not complaining  Grin

Does anyone remember the IPO price of HVC (1 HVC = how many BTC)?

I believe it was 0.00005.

thank you  Cool

173 btc over 5 milion hvc: 0.00003460

I'm getting around 24.8 from a 290@1125 and 4.3 from a 7750@950
Mem clocks are default. I can't seem to get anywhere near the 28MH reported. Running with 13.12 drivers and 14.3b ocl libs.
Try -w 64 -X 105
I was at 8, W at 64. Windows with 13.12 drivers did get me the 27.something MH/s Thanks for the xintensity advice.

@mintpal you can get it back to ~4800 with < 0.05 btc at the moment. Just ppl trying to push it down by creating an artificial dump (which isn't there)
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 29, 2014, 06:39:26 PM
now normal result 290x - 23500, 290 - 21000, 280х - 16000, 270 - 9500 ?

I get around 22000 from a 290 @ 1100MHz and a 7750 @ 3.9 MH/s @ 950MHz

OMG top 1 http://heavycoin.zhpool.com   18,618,606MH

That is a risk to our pool, we will try to contact this miner and confirm he is not faking this hashrate with some special method which is already known to us,  if no response from him received , we will have to ban this miner.

We have been keeping our eyes on you, don't try to fu*k us and our miners!

Hey potential "thief",  if you read this, we have banned you.

We won't let you in until you contact us and prove your hash power.

We have closed our registration at the present , sorry to new miners

Quite easy to check: Nr of blocks found vs hashrate vs global hashrate. No 'marginal' differences, then no problem. if you do 1/3 of the pool it is noticable if you cheat ...
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 21, 2014, 10:17:57 AM
probability distribution of finding a block with normalized hashrate (e.g. taking changes in pool size into account)
Sorry, it's neither hash rate nor normalization over pool size.

Of course if you're saying that the gaps are normal even if they don't look normal, then all is well in the world.  Perhaps a comparison with the other pools would be more fruitful.

You are correct, what I meant was the gaps between the blocks found. But to make the comparison 'fair' the strength of the pool has to be normalized over time so you don't get peaks due to rise/fall of the pools total hashrate. Anyway, your conclusion is what I wanted to show so no harm done.

i try to mine this coin but all rejected 100% on 280x ..what i am doing wrong..all other coins work nomrlany ..i used that cgminer for heavy and this is bat

cgminer.exe --heavy -o stratum+tcp://pool1.heavycoin.zhpool.com:20001 -u **** -p ***  --vectors 1 -I 8  -w 256  --gpu-powertune 20

This is what works great for me

1. Try http://Heavycoinpool.com (currently rewarding 900 HVC per block unlike other pools where default reward is 725 HVC)
2. Download: https://heavycoinpool.com/downloads/cgminer-3-7-3-heavycoin-v4.zip
3. Put this in your BAT:

del *.bin
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --heavy --vote 100 --no-submit-stale -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.heavycoinpool.com:5333 -u YourWorkerName -p YourPass -I 8 -g 1 --gpu-engine 1200 --gpu-memclock 750 --gpu-fan 65 -w 256

You should get 9Mh/s speed. In case CGMiner would crash, try to decrease the --gpu-engine by 5Mh and see what works for you. I'm currently running on 1206, will see how long will CGMiner last before crashing. But 1200 was running fine for 24 hours.

how many hardware error with this settings?
please use 1gh miner and try hvc.nonce-pool.com

That is exactly the same miner ... the reorder's version of cgmiiner 3.7.3 compiled from source.

^ your pool crapped out or what?
Wondering the same.  Got 40 in first 30 minutes and nothing now

Yeah, while I appreciate the promotion and all, maybe they could explain what's going on with the above posters' concerns.

In graph form:

Nice graph, but the probability distribution of finding a block with normalized hashrate (e.g. taking changes in pool size into account) is a poisson distribution (or gamma for that matter) with a low lambda and not gaussian over 1 (if it were, the long gaps would correctly be odd). Your graph simply shows the lower end of the distribution with some outlyers (don't know if this is the English word) like the >700% blocks. Nothing weird here, sample size is simply too low to draw conclusions based on the available data about the tail of the distribution.

A decent mathematician can probably calculate the arrival time of blocks to a certain degree of accuracy but its complicated and takes some effort or detailed knowledge of the systems involved. Check out waiting times, Erlang and those kind of things concerning arrival estimation if you want to know more about it.

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.heavycoinpool.com:5333 is supposed to work ?
it doesn't even really try to connect, I get quasi instantly auth failed: <unknown reason> with my usual -u -p parameters I copy paste...

cgminer --heavy  -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.heavycoinpool.com:5333

also you need R9 card I believe.
7xxx cards will also work.

Southern and northern island gpus work. So 79xx and up and most 77xx and 75xx and the R series. R series should be a lot better though due to some enabled operations in the post 1200 build of the ocl compiler for those gpus.

this is the ultimate betrayal!!

Keccak is not our girlfriend..he is a male with a penis

it means we have not been fucking with a woman but instead

we have have fucked in the ASS by a MALE for $130K BTC !!!!!!!!!!

uhhhh im guessing you dumped all your hvc?

YES before the GPU "betrayal" <<can't spell that shit....HAPPENED

Apparently you are not smart enough to consider the effect of gpu's on ANY algorithm while willing to spend >100K on it. As stated, not smart ...

anyone know what settings I should be using for R9 270  / 280x ?

Preferably bad ones: More for us.

Running stable @ 8.8MH/s now on 290. (also doing cpu mining at around 180KH/s just to keep my room warm :p)
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 16, 2014, 09:55:45 AM
keccak512, official statements about the fact that some GPU mine hvc? plz keep us updated

Highly likely as the 'anti-parallelism' stuff in the hefty part is far from sufficient. Too little branching and not enough random memory access (which gpu's are very bad at), let alone plain memory usage. All other methods are not sufficient to stop parallelism as the bottleneck is memory access time/bandwidth.

All the other algorithms can (except for Groestl) be easilly put in a opencl/cuda file and run. Some tweaking and we might see some miners in the next weeks (as there are at least two running now).

Despite all the images with weird ppl:

Will the source be available for the modified cpuminer at launch? Makes compiling on linux a lot easier Wink
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 06, 2014, 10:44:50 AM
...
Code:

  -v, --vote=VOTE       block reward vote

The external miner gets to write his/her block reward vote into the block.  The block reward vote is specified with the -v parameter.

I would STRONGLY recommend of changing this as -v is the default on unix/linux systems for verbose. --vote looks fine.

But I don't have any priv/pub key (that was the procedure 2).

See point 3:
Quote
We will perform the keygen procedure for you and send you bitcointalk.org PM confirming your investment and giving you your Heavycoin Address. We will hold the private key on cold storage for you.

IPO details van still be found here:

In the section 'Launch > IPO stakeholders' (on the Heavycoin web site) there is the following instruction:

"Procedure 2 investors should examine their records very careuflly and double check that their stakes and Heavycoin addresses are correct. You must report any mistakes to the Heavycoin developers before March 6th 00:00 UTC. Failure to do so could result in the loss of your IPO funds."

Now, how are we supposed to check the assigned Heavycoin addresses (as this is not something we generated)?

With the keygen tool you got a privatekey, a public key and an address. So yes, you can check it.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 01, 2014, 08:46:14 PM
Can someone explain to me why lots of people around have the following issues:
- no understanding of economics (heavy ipo demand does not dilute the value, it actually confirms the value and raises it. Look at market ipo launches and share value, the difference being the release schedule and trade volume available). Heavy mining at start might drop the value, true, but that is not what a IPO is for. It is (generally) used to strengthen trust in a product, in this case that is definitely needed. If you invest heavy though, you can manipulate the market enough to get an advantage.
- The only problem with the previous statement is the lack of a public trading platform (e.g. exchange). This is needed shortly after start to avoid massive dumps at the start of trade.
- IPO is meant to strengthen a value of a share (in this case coin), not to get in cheap. You will definitely lose a little bit at the start. Depending on trade volumt  you can create more volume and thus have a strong position in the market.
- Use the font and bold options to state something that is either obvious while not in bold or has a high BS value attached to it.

Don't mind reading btc offers, do mind reading crap...

Now to get constructive:

Does any of the devs have a minerd (cpuminer) or other cpu miner source available at launch (I'm definitely going to do some optimizations and finding a lot)?
This is to ease stratum/management support.
