1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why don't speed btc up a bit. on: May 26, 2014, 10:05:02 AM
I dont agree at all, all other coins are useless for transactions if you dont want to pay high fees, they are usable only for MICROtransactions and tiny transactions.

You can buy e. g. doge for 71 satoshi, but you cant sell it for 71 again, you will sell it for 70 or you have to gamble and hope that the coin goes up in value (bad idea when sinking like now). So if you transfer e. g. 0.05 BTC you will pay 0.05 x (71/70) fee = 0.000714 BTC So you pay 7 times more than if you sell directly your BTC and pay 0.0001001 BTC fee. So this way is profitable only for sending really ridiculous amount of coins below approx. 0.005 BTC. But what you will sell for 0.005BTC? Pizza costs 0.015BTC (cheapest margheritta)  Grin

fees are usually 0.15-0.2 of the amount, so 7x equals 1.4%; now, if an arb opportunity comes up with 10% or more, you get 8.6%; you can afford to waste another 1.5-2% on price difference (it was very seldom more then 3% on doge in the past 4 months); for every percentage gained on arb opportunity you can afford to waste more; during swings you have to watch both sides, and usually, if you're fast, bagholders will dump on your low buy order on the other side, and you can then transfer that back to the original exchange (it is usually much less then the original difference, but hey, you can use it to cover the fees and price difference);

mind you, some arbs opportunities go up to 25% during pumps, so a pathetic loss of 3% on fees and difference really is pathetic;

edit: I mentioned liquidity, didn't I?

edit2: this is only for daytrading, not for one time transfer; scalping, arbing, high-low on ltc etc.

what follows is my personal opinion, not backed by evidence and such;

I don't think that alex donated anything to charities, his reputation of a greedy bastard tells me that he would actually steal from charities, rather then donate to them. I would like somebody to investigate this btc laundering, because it is simply not possible for me to comprehend that alex was left empty handed after this;

and those articles listed are not too encouraging; for example, one of the journalists

"About Richard Dambrosi
worked in the plastic blow molding industry for over 30 years"

is not very competent at writing articles; we all know you can buy an article for 30-40 usd, so those articles don't mean anything;

therefore, I think alex stole 17.5 btc instead of donating them; I would like to see somebody investigating this btc laundering, if there is anybody willing to do that;

Hello everyone.

Been "away", trying to make some money to pay bills. My country was hit by big floods. Guess muddafudda made it.

Now, the post I'm quoting right now!

Mining marathon will start this Saturday!

- H2O needs a developer who's dedicated to the coin. Our team has ideas, but we don't have technical knowledge. So, if you're a dev, please contact me, if you're interested.

Our dev left.

Any of you heard about www.cryptorush.in exchange ?

Thisweekscoin user knows owner (maybe he is one of the owner) so be careful about what he writes, what he advices etc. more info here

You should ask escrow.ms or theymos to remove trust rating from alex's account; he is clearly abusing the trust system since you are in red; he left 2 negatives on your profile for the same thing (that's a second abuse); he is on extended list via escrow.ms. alex has a long history of leaving false feedbacks (as well as editing his posts when something needs to be hidden), you should mention that to escrow.ms when pm'ing him;

edit: I just read your topic; devianttwo and alex go waaay back; they're good pals from EAC and LOT days;
devianttwo also scammed with his pools, hackshard (or something like that); he scammed on EAC and USDe (verified, rumored to have scammed on other coins as well, but not verified);

you should mention that alex promoted stack coin (and made money off of it), he also promoted edge coin (very similar scam to stack coin, about 120 btc stolen); alex was also behind EAC, LOT, PANDA etc.

you would probably be interested in some of his other coins- COYE, Cryptonium etc.

Waiting for an hour for coins to confirm is just a pain. Using some of the other alts is like trying cable or adsl after having been on a 56k modem.

nobody in their right mind would use btc for transfers;

if you're using arb bots set them for some other coins, if you're not playing both sides (I don't, because I like the adrenalin while waiting for confirms; I do arbs for that reason only); btc is transferred only once on a particular exchange, after that your wealth is stored in btc; for transactions, choose fast confirms, liquidity, stable coins (so that you don't end up on a wrong fork or so) etc.

your beloved quark is good for fast confirms, but is not available everywhere; zet is fast, has good liquidity, good for big amounts, but is not available on small exchanges, unlike drk- you can find it almost everywhere (and the liquidity is still pretty good); myr is perfect for small exchanges (and small amounts).

doge is my favorite transfer coin, it has everything; however I have noticed that confirms are somewhat slower now then couple months ago.

btc is gold, and should be treated as such; use other coins for transfers, make a list of coins with good specs for trading and use them as a currency- the way you would use fiat when trading stocks and commodities;

bear in mind that you should follow your 'currency' coins, the way you follow your coins on a pump; my list of these coins was somewhat different 1 month ago, significantly different 3 months ago, and completely different 6 months ago;

It is nice to see a community that is not driven by profit and profit alone, I can only applaud the good nature of some of the people invested and interested in this coin   Gives some of us hope that not every coin on this forum is run by some group of scammers constantly trying to rip people off.

-I don't know if you are alex's (dev of this fail coin) puppet account or just plain stupid

in case you're plain stupid; it is, however , more likely that you are his puppet account or a paid shill;

yes a shill account with so many posts to my name and so many posts on so many threads since dec 30th last year.  No, unlike you I don't go around spreading FUD and accusing people of being something they are not.  May I suggest you take a good look at yourself before accusing people of doing or being something they are not.

Insulting me because I post saying I see some good in this thread?  I would suggest you are the stupid one who can't even work out how to use the "Show the last posts of this person." feature.  Do my posts look like it is a shill account?

In fact don't answer me I really don't want to converse with such a slimy personality that goes around accusing forum members of things for just trying to be nice.

Looking at your "Show the last posts of this person." shows me you are a foul mouthed child with a fake account, and I am stupid? oh dear.

yes, you are definitely alex (dev of this fail coin);

at least don't use same puppet accounts on coins you were connected with, e.g. PANDA, 10-5 etc.; or conversing with your buddies, e.g. sevoque;
damn, every new generation of these scammers gets dumber and dumber;
spots is a genius compared to you;

-I don't know if you are alex's (dev of this fail coin) puppet account or just plain stupid; alex (dev of this fail coin) *is* one of "scammers constantly trying to rip people off"; he had many coins in the past 6 months; everyone knows that;

-some people even accuse him of stealing 1000 btc; apparently, he is one of the cryptorush thieves;

-I'm actually quite surprised he didn't rob his own escrow;

-regarding greed; well, alex's greed is legendary in cryptoland; he is well known for it;

you should do more research before you invest, in case you're plain stupid; it is, however , more likely that you are his puppet account or a paid shill;

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: May 14, 2014, 10:19:02 AM
It's great there is this much interested in mining it, but when will it be listed on an exchange and coinmarketcap?

The major exchanges don't normally list coins released as a vehicle to enrich the devs with a scandalous premine. Don't hold your breath.

Would like to address this again.

Limbaugh, thank you for your critique and I understand/hear the criticism loud and clear. Nothing I say here can make you feel at ease but I'm going to try anyway.

People have been trying to launch the ultimate balance of maths/coins/volume/premine/etc. since the alt scene hit. Some have premined 0%, 1%, 10%, 50% and recently 98%. None have really managed to get it right and all can be looked at as Limbaugh describes if one chooses to. If we did absolutely no premine, nobody would have incentive and we'd be doing everything in-house. If we did 10% people would freak out way more, 50% to 90% and ok you got yourself a very risky situation.

This balance of everything that we chose to try to enter the market with, and the rate we steadily see the coins being distributed/mined = by the time any exchanges open up - we hope there will be way more mined, bountied, givenaway than any of the bigger holders can dump on. I personally do NOT want to see anyone sell any for a long time but that's human nature, some will sell all fast - some won't. This project has personally been extremely taxing on my time/stress/dealing with the growth this fast/I don't think I could go down this journey again. Thus this one has to count and we will be doing anything we can to ensure that nobody has the ability to simply kill it, including anyone in the internal team.

While I can't preach that 'we got it right' just yet, a lot of thought went into how to roll out and no matter what the combo of variables I think we would still get some critics so no harm no foul. Just part of the process of entering an exploding industry that deserves criticism due to the risk involved.

Actions speak louder than words and we're trying our best to show you guys good strategy and a safe long term journey with good damage control for unforeseens and critics. However until that happens naturally - I welcome skeptics and critics to watch from the sidelines with eyebrow raised and let time tell if you'd like to be involved or not. Until then there is no need to assume anything negative please - give us a chance and at least some benefit of doubt before throwing this under the bus, and you just might be pleasantly surprised by this projects results in 2014.

Thank you.

You better plan on a whole lot of transparency if you hope to salvage an already damaged reputation.

bhahahhahahahhahahahhahahahaaaa

they dumped the premine, they don't give a FLYING FUCK about community, if any (ever existed);

dev, how about that long term horseshit you've been spouting long ago?

lmao, bunch of idiots; don't know who's a bigger fucktard, blind followers or the dev;
