 Thanks to the incredible talent and ongoing dedication of the WhiteCoin Foundation Transition Team, WhiteCoin successfully ended Proof of Work and entered the Proof of Stake phase. The new wallet is functional and everything is now in working order. WhiteCoin is now a Proof of Stake coin. All markets have reopened, and traders have more good news than they know what to do with. |

Rofl so literally the way to fix the broken pos was to change unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = -1; // stake age of full weight: -1 to unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 100; And that took days to figure out? Pro tip, should have been extern unsigned int nStakeMaxAge; and that would also have worked. Question though, if that was the fix (as this is the only significant change since April 27th), why didn't this commit fix it? (I'm assuming the fix is up on this repository - is there something else to it?) Current update was started via a different github account, they are in the process of being merged. I'll provide a more detailed explanation of what happened soon. |

To transition us into this process, I have been grated temporary control as acting lead on The WhiteCoin Project. Our team will issue a followup statement tonight with a proposed initial roadmap as to how the community can accomplish this. Mogonzo... How many coins have you been "appointed" to represent and act as the spokesperson with no confirmation or proper PR release for the Developer? You did the exact same thing to Rubycoin.

They might want to reconsider. That was a very ineffective (and damaging) performance last night. WhiteCoin was facing an imminent attack and I took what action I deemed necessary to protect the blockchain, I also hadn't slept in two days trying to fix the issue. I'm sorry you feel let down. We are working on the hard fork, however, we are still also ensuring that everyone has some time to breathe.
For now, we believe the block chain is protected so long as growth rates continue on the protection port. It will be necessary for everyone to be on one port if we are to perform the fork. Literally all the hash of whitecoin must be concentrated to one pool for us to take over.
I give you my word that if we do fork the coin (it's look that way, still no word from devs directly to me since I was banned from the channel, it may not have been them) we will turn the coin over to the community via a process that protects everyone and seeks community input as best possible.
If the devs return in the meantime, they'll be able to fix this.
For now, I am feeling very optimistic.

- Who owns the WhiteCoin.co website?
- Who owns the @WhiteCoiner Twitter account?
You, or other people, on each of those? And if other people, who are they? And can control of those aspects of WhiteCoin be taken from them somehow, if they abandon the coin or fail to manage it professionally? Thanks for any information you can provide, and for your efforts to solve the problems. Answers to all: I do not really know for sure anymore. I'm going to switch accounts shortly I feel it's not appropriate to be posting from this account. |

I have been banned from #whitecoin on IRC.
The devs may be returning. If they do, I encourage them to solve this problem. I may be locked out of the whitecoin accounts soon if they do not appreciate the attempts I have made in good faith to save this coin.
I will not give up so long as there is support in the community.

I see consensus around performing a hard fork. I will continue to monitor this thread. Yes this is mogonzo. I give you my word I will use all of the skils at my disposal to see this happen right. For now the best thing everyone can do is the following:1. Point your hash to the blockchain protection port at whitecoinpool.com port 3377 2. Stop performing transactions with your wallet. 3. Message your exchange requesting that at the very least whitecoin withdrawals be frozen. Any other suggestions please post them here. I will provide an udpate asap. |

Yeah, can you give us a little clarity on the situation?
I'm trying my best I'm sorry. I've been working for essentially 36 hours straight to figure a way out of this for everyone. The way I see it, the only real solution unless the devs appear immediately is to take chunky up on their offer to hard fork the coin. At that point, an emergency update could be performed to protect the blockchain, the update could be issued, and we could then figure out as a community how to address the PoS issue. |

AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM WHITECOINAUTHOR: Mogonzo I stepped in as head of PR only a couple of days ago, and it's been a wild ride. Unfortunately it's about to get wilder for all of us. After many reports of problems with WhiteCoin not staking an investigating was launched, among our investigators were two of the whitecoin pool operators. I've submitted requests for clarifications to the devs on this issue, and have yet to receive a response. What we've learnedThe investigation into the staking issue is ongoing, however we have learned of a vulnerability in WhiteCoin's blockchain that will require emergency action by the community. Chunkypools offers port to protect WhiteCoin against 51% attack: PORT 3377If you want to protect your investment, rather than crashing the doors of mintpal I suggest you visit whitecoinpool.com, create a worker and point to port 3377. Block rewards are now at 10 on the old PoW network which means there is not much profit in this for chunky or anyone. You'd be doing this to protect your coin. On a personal note, it's my job to communicate for the people who contract my services. However that contract exists with the public as well... and I must give it to you straight. Currently it would not take much hash to take over the blockchain and perform a hard fork. One of the most important purposes behind cryptocurrency is that if the devs get sick, hit by a bus, or abducted by a UFO... the community will has an option to take control. WhiteCoin can easily recover from this problem if the community rallies to protect the blockchain with hash until an update can be performed. ChunkyPools offers hard fork and the facilitation of an update if the community requests itIf the devs do not re-appear ChunkyPools and others have offered to facilitate the hard forking of whitecoin and the release of an updated fix. It would not take long. But it does require your support and consent. I have a great deal of experience with online communities, and I'm here because I see the potential in this one. All we need to do is rally behind a port with our hash and make our voices heard. The Whitecoin Community does have an optionEven if the devs truly do not return, there is enough community interest and exchange volume in this coin for us to turn this around immediately. I've been working tirelessly for weeks promoting this multipool and developing a re-branding that will blow away every single one of you. I will do everything I can to help you -if you want it- even if it means we have to found a WhiteCoin foundation as a community.
