1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is freedom money on: July 05, 2022, 12:42:14 PM
In my opinion, I feel it is well said that "bitcoin is a freedom money" just simply because of its cryptographic nature and the liberty it gives its users compared to that of Fiat currency, but even in the midst of these, Fiat currency is still far adopted in many countries till date and the possibility that Cryptocurrency would be fully adopted by many nations of the world is very slim. So while bitcoin is a freedom money, the ones in power do not want people to have that financial freedom, therefore preventing people from legally having access to the freedom money (Bitcoin).

MY FEAR,  MY JOY, MY APPRECIATION!
My Story Continues...
I woke up to the realization that I've just transited from Junior member Rank to Member Rank. I joined the forum on 17th of March, 2022: I've used exactly 10 weeks and 5 days in the forum. The period spent here haven't been exactly easy, but my little achievements so far has made the whole experience worthwhile. I am indeed happy and grateful for everyone who has helped—either by merits or comments, especially the corrections on my post that taught me invaluable lessons—in this little journey to achieve this feat. I also want to say this to every newbie who find themselves struggling to survive here:  "there's no limit to what you can achieve".

The journey to the next rank (Full Member) starts with immediate effect—though getting there seems impossible and difficult due to the requirements, my aim remains to contribute towards this society of knowledge and to stick to the rules that guide this cryptocurrency  universe (the forum).

Yours dearly
Bamjos

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 30, 2022, 12:24:21 PM
History repeated itself; Liverpool failed to savage the situation and they couldn't become the champion. One thing I realised to have made Madrid the champion again was the experience they've had, unlike Liverpool, they didn't create much chances but they put the little they had to use and it paid off. Liverpool suffered the same fate as Chelsea and Manchester City–creating plenty chances but failing to convert them. I went to the viewing center to support my England neighbor, hoping I could sing "you will never walk alone" at the end of the match, but I ended up singing "Hala Madrid" as Madrid deservedly took the great UCL Trophy home.

You can consider to avoid much coloration of texts. It makes people ignore your posts. If you want to emphasise a word or a group of words, you can italize, bold or underline. Colors are majorly used for extreme emphasis, maybe involving tables, photos or memes.

Another lesson learned. I'm grateful I'm learning to get better on this forum, and people like you who give tips like this motivate me to get better, I'm grateful, Thanks for the insight!

Toh ASUU don officially renew their strike bundle to original 12 weeks dem say the committee wey government put together never call dem even for once for meeting since February. Another thing wey dey pay them again be say politicians dey spend hundreds of millions for next forms and other things like say Na biscuit dem dey buy, and none of them don put mouth for any wey concern public universities. Dem fashe everything like say so dey exist for Naija again.
Personally for me ba this thing reach man make he cry. Imagine people wey suppose dey represent us dey carry us play ludo.

So my people how una take see this ASUU strike renewal

If person dey wey this country matter don tire, aswear na me. To me, na both government and ASUU no dey do well, even if we sey politician dey send their pikin go private school or abroad, ASUU executives self dey put their pikin for private schools and some bin get pikin wey dey study for abroad too, so this whole matter na like two elephant wey dey fight, na the grass wey dey where dem dey fight go suffer. Both ASUU and Government no get any concern for the students, na why e easy for both side to dey do things as dem like be that.

Hello everyone, I'm new here but not to crypto, and I must say that I'm totally excited to find a forum dedicated to bitcoin and crypto generally.  Before signing up here, I was skeptical about the credibility of this website, reason being that I have come across some other websites as well that have bitcoin in their names like "bitcointalk", but all they do is advice you to invest with them.

So far in my very short time here, I have opened a lot of pages here and as far as I can see, this website is unlike any I have come across having bitcoin or crypto in their names.
Welcome to the forum. It's good that you've found out one of the best place to acquire knowledge, most especially about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general. There are a lot of platform out there that may not be able to serve the same purpose bitcointalk in serving. You will be blessed with knowledge from others; you will also be a blessing to others by sharing your idea with them, it's good to know that you are not new to cryptocurrency as you've said, the knowledge you've gained before would help make you to be successful here in the forum.

I hope my time here will yield life changing results, what do I need to know?

8  Other / Off-topic / Skepticism should yield Knowledge on: May 10, 2022, 09:30:42 PM
The word skepticism has appeared in my posts for more than enough time, that's probably because of my experiences with it (both the good and bad).
Skepticism is characterized by Doubt, Disbelief, Uncertainty and Agnosticism and also Scrutiny, Inquisition, Investigation and Probe. Aforementioned are words categorised into two group which I refer to as first phase and second phase. The first phase can be generalise as Doubt, it's a phase where our lack of knowledge of an entity/subject makes us feel unsure about it; at this phase, our sense of judgement is clouded with disbelief and uncertainty. We can call the second phase the Curiosity phase, this is the period we want to put all things to test to make sure we are making the right decision, this phase birth Scrutiny, Inquisition, Investigation and Probe. At this phase, we overly seek for knowledge about something because we want to satisfy our curiosity.

While being skeptical is not bad, many of us fall at the first phase of it, we only exercise doubt and disbelief about an entity/subject without seeking knowledge about it. The fact that we are unsure of something should make us eager to want to know about it, this attitude towards life could help us redeem situations where good opportunity always pass us by due to the fact that we base our judgement on the first phase (Doubt). The second phase helps us to make decision rationally and our decision would be based on facts rather than assumptions or dogma. After making our decision based on the knowledge we've acquired about the subject, we are left with the knowledge and it could  help us sometimes in the future.

This has happened  to many cryptocurrency investors or trader at a point in time, it also happens mostly to beginners (most especially the ones who have experienced scam). It made them miss out on great opportunity that has come their ways that could have transformed their lives. When our skepticism end in the first phase, it deprived us of the positive impact skepticism could have on us.
Skepticism should yield curiosity, while curiosity birth Knowledge!
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Religion be Used as Coin Campaign? on: May 07, 2022, 10:19:07 PM
In disabusing this mindset attached to Bitcoin investments, the church is instrumental in carrying out good campaigns to open up this treasure to members of denominations. Most religions or churches in the Orthodox era were remembered for the use of coins  in the process of transaction.
Are you aware that there are a lot of Cristhians who have the mentality that cryptocurrency and most of the Electronic Banking system of this generation is the mark of the beast (have you heard of Christianity in Nigeria before?)? Some ministers even preach against it and have been successful in filling the minds of their members with cryptocurrency's ridiculous myths. How then could these people be appealed to to consider cryptocurrency by same ministers who have told them evil things about it.

Quote
Biblical reference to coin was made by Jesus who made reference to the two sides of the Roman currency which contains the face of the Roman king. The coin based economies were valued treasures with affordable standard of living among individuals in societies. What seem to be different is the visibility and touchable nature of a coin on one hand and the non touchable nature of the other.

I'm afraid we can't use this scenario to support this argument. The currency Jesus made reference to was then used and accepted by everyone, it's a currency that was legally approved. But in the case of cryptocurrency, many countries have not approved it, some are even hunting their citizens that are involved with cryotocurrency. So, there's no way religion (church) can bridge the gap that's been described in this thread when governmental body hasn't approved it.
Remember the scripture says in the Book of Romans 13:1 that:
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

The NKJV name this chapter "Obey the Government"; I want to believe that the scripture is self explanatory. With this point in view, how can a church campaign for what it's government has disapproved (yet to approve)?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Standard of a Meritorious post on: May 07, 2022, 09:37:05 PM
Is it that those who have excess of merits reserves their generosity or there are laid down principles in writing a Meritorious contents.
No, and there are no rules when it comes to what is "meritorious content", everyone is free to decide that for themselves.

Well said!
I once created a thread that for days, no one made comment on it, same with merit, until I one day when I became lucky to have someone comment on it, and that's the only comment on that thread till now, except for my reply to the person's comment which made the comment 2, though I was later fortunate to have the post earn me merit.

At first I felt like I gave a good write up because I sincerely wrote from my experience, spent hours drafting my composition and all. But just like it's been said in this quote, there's no rules on what is meritorious, what is good to me might not be good to others, what I found fascinating might not be the same with another person, and the forum has been designed in a way that everyone reserve the right to give merit to whoever they want or whoever has impacted them.

It was kind of funny when I later found out that the volume, of my thread that  I mentioned above, was possibly the reason many people didn't comment on it.

I once watched a shot video of Steve Harvey, He said something like, there's no right time so start something" if all you do is sitting around waiting for the right time, then the right time might not come.

We cannot deny the fact that crypto is a wide field, it is also technical. This applies to especially those who see crypto as more than buying low and selling high. But to buy, hodl and sell people, crypto is not a difficult thing.
Starting small is the answer. Starting is better than procrastinating, no matter how small you started. Crypto is not something you understand from the outside, you will need to join the bandwagon and then continue to grow in the system with practice and experience.
In anything you do, there is always a starting point.

Apart from the fact that I'm a worry-wart, I also have Doctorate degree in procrastination. I always question my decision (to the gross level) to start something, I look out to the perfect time to start, I worry about the outcome, all these always give birth to over thinking things, which subsequently leads to procrastination.
It was the same when I registered on this forum, it took me weeks before I finally summon the will to make my first post. Here I am now, almost at the 3rd rank of the forum. Starting from somewhere is just the key, every other thing will align along the way, but folding hands and waiting for the right time will only limit your chance to explore your purpose.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tip-Don't participate in token sales being influence by Airdrops on: May 05, 2022, 08:16:12 PM
Similar thing happened to me about a year ago, I was relentlessly searching for airdrops everywhere I could find it on the internet when I've actually not even read about what airdrop means. I also participated in some airdrops on telegram using telegram boot, which all turned out to be fake. It's just best that one should study well about a project before embarking participating in the airdrop and if all test proves it to be scam, one should just shut the thought to participate in it off, regardless of how attracting the worth of the airdrop is.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A single trading tool is not enough on: May 05, 2022, 05:08:58 PM
So far, I've learned that it is not ideal to use just one analytical tool, it's going to end in disaster doing that, even while trading using the timeframe, it's advices to trade multi-timeframe in order to be able to see the market from a bigger perspective.

In my techniques, I have multiple things (techniques) to carry out before entering a trade, this is otherwise called conservative type of entry. I also have used trendline in conjunction with RSI before and it worked perfectly well for me. Using multiple analytical tools help to reconfirm entries and reduces risk in trading, it's worth employing as a trading skill.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Features of fake/scam AirDrops on: May 05, 2022, 04:57:49 PM
Reading this thread, I saw myself in retrospect and I laughed, I knew the word airdrop for the first time in 2021, that coincidentally was the time I started developing great interest in cryptocurrency. I saw airdrop videos on YouTube which showed how to get airdrop, I was busy throughout the day browsing airdrop and their addresses in order to claim them in my trust wallet, I made a long list and I did them all. When I looked at my wallet, I was seeing great amounts of coins, I was happy thinking they were all real until sometimes later when I saw a video on how to test if an airdrop is authentic, I checked all the airdrops, they were all fake.  Grin

Wow, this is so enlightening, and I'm grateful. I've seen many users post images on the forum and I envy them, I've always wanted to do the same but didn't know how to go about it, this is very helpful and I'm going to give it a try very soon.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 05, 2022, 04:27:18 PM
Yet another dramatic moment in the history of UEFA Champions league yesterday, Real Madrid has shown the world how determined they are to become the European champion once more. They've done that before and they did it again, the experience was there and it paid off. I don't really know what to say about Manchester City, my hope was in them, but I wasn't dissapointed anyways. They probably felt too convenient or demoralized in the game and they were made to pay for that, Pep wouldn't forget this in his coaching career ever.

"Hala Madrid" was the sentence flowing all over the place yesterday, and Congratulations to Madrid, I hope they will sing CAMPEÓN! CAMPEÓN! CAMPEON! once again, but I'm not sure Liverpool who is meeting them for the second time, after the embarrassing UCL final experience they had with Madrid in 2017/2018, would make things easy for Madrid as they wouldn't want history to repeat itself. It's definitely going to be another dramatic and unpredictable UCL final yet again.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educate and teach the youngins about Bitcoin. on: May 05, 2022, 02:25:02 PM
When talking of kids or young ones, I'm not sure of which age bracket we are referring to here, but nevertheless, as children grow towards the young adult age, they need to be prepared for (and aware of) the world they are born into. There are countless of things to teach them which part of them are about Technology, Economics, Politics, History and all, if they are well taught about these, lessons about cryptocurrency will come in with no effort to forcefully instill it in them.

And I also think that as things are going now in this age, children would not need to be taught about cryptocurrency before they hear or know about it, the lessons that should come from Parent/guardian to them is how to be save while in the cryptocurrency's sphere, they should also be given financial advices needed to be successful at it (if at all the said children want to venture into it), myth about cryptocurrency should also be address in order to prevent the kids from straying in their journeys into cryotocurrency.

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My First Crypto Mistake on: May 04, 2022, 09:42:15 PM
I was like this when I started to give cryptocurrency a thought, when I started getting enthusiastic about it, I was ready to invest everything I had at the time, I was looking for every way possible to just own cryptocurrency, my feeling was "everyone is doing it, I should also do it", thank goodness, I escaped a scam scheme that would have left me wretched both financially and health-wise.

Nothing would have been wrong with my sudden quest to own cryptocurrency and my enthusiasm for it, but something was wrong in the sense that I didn't give myself to studying about it, I didn't make effort to learn it's rudiment, I just want to become a Crypto-Lord overnight, and it was a wrong adventure. Thank God, I didn't have to learn my lesson in the hard way.

I feel we should learn to accept the fact that good things would take time and efforts to yield, yeah, it should take time, the fact that it takes time with efforts and perseverance would give a tremendous worth to it, and nothing would be as rewarding as that: when your efforts finally pays off.
