1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and substance abuse. on: September 22, 2025, 10:53:29 PM
Substance abuse was revealed to be common among doctors, lawyers, security forces, politicians and so on... So why wouldn't it be a thing among traders as well? I guess it's not about the correlation between trading and substance abuse, but between modern world in general and substance abuse. It's everywhere, like a pandemic!

It's result of moral relativism. In previous times, it was morally wrong to use such substances, but now it's not wrong anymore, because what is wrong nowadays? Nothing! So this kind of behavior is getting a common pattern, especially among individuals who are impulsive and in constant pursue for quick cash (what is directly related to trading and substance abuse practices, right?).
This is correct, them being "traders" doesn't have to do anything with the nature of cryptocurrencies. They'd still use substances even if they were trading stocks, bonds, gamble and so on. With that being said, why wouldn't it be a thing? I don't believe they can "enhance" your abilities, they'll certainly make you have less self-control without you realizing. Someone who resorts to such measures requires medical attention and I can't consider it a "normal" behaviour, even though I understand what you're saying, everything is considered "normal" nowadays.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What reasons can have you switch intentions while on the casino on: September 22, 2025, 10:22:47 PM
Maybe you missed the point, I was not talking about switching casinos, I was referring to a more logical aspect of being on a casino. Switching intentions, more like before engaging in a casino, you had in mind to gamble for fun and in the end you found yourself chasing profits. What are the reasons for such shift in intention while in the casino and how do we maintain our primary motives without diverting to another intention while on the casino
Well, the human mind is a complex organ, a lot can change during the course of your "gambling career". I remember myself starting with simply playing the crash game on Bustabit, then moved to other casinos and slowly expanded my options. Added Dice, Roulette, the "usual" casino games and eventually added others, such as CrazyTime. I then progressed to sports gambling, which is my main activity at the moment.

My point is that just because you start something, doesn't mean you'll always continue doing what you initally did. A major win in sports betting for instance may change your stance into believing that you could sustain a relatively steady income through it, the same applies to roulette, poker, you name it. This isn't necessarily "bad", but you need to be concious of what you're doing and why. I personally don't believe that you'll get far chasing money through gambling, but that's my opinion, it doesn't mean that I'm not after the money, but it's not my main goal, which is why my betting is also rather conservative.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin’s Price Fall in the Coming Days? on: September 22, 2025, 09:45:14 PM
There can be some shifts in four-year cycles, so perhaps we're not at the end of this upward cycle.
It might continue until late spring, which is what I'm thinking, but who knows? We'll just see when the time comes. I believe October and November will be relatively better.
Furthermore, today's decline probably had no reason, I think I can call it a normal correction. There was a rise after the Fed's decision, followed by a correction.
I didn't consider that the cycles could be "extended" till early to late spring if I'm honest. Not that they're "cut-off" periods when 2026 enters, but you get my point. Bitcoin is currently at $113,000, $2,000 lower than my previous post a day or two ago, I personally also don't call this a drop in value, it's just a minor correction, and the degree of the so-called drop isn't concerning. It's nothing major to worry about. I'm confident that we'll see a new ATH within 2025.

These discussions always put me in a dilemma, I've been holding for a few years now and planning to hold for quite some time in the future, a new ATH would put me in a position where I'd want to sell for profit and repurchase at a later date, but on the other hand, I'd prefer if I left my coins intact. One thing is certain, that I would like to avoid using a centralized exchange.
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betpanda.io | Anonymous Crypto Casino | Welcome Bonus Up to 1BTC on: September 22, 2025, 09:15:02 PM
You did the right thing by stopping playing. However, you will find that rule at almost all licensed casinos, not just at BetPanda.
The reason they don’t automatically restrict access for users from regions where gambling is illegal is probably because they can’t keep track of all of those jurisdictions, especially that local laws change frequently.
So, it’s more of a disclaimer to protect themselves, so they won’t be held responsible if you run into trouble with your local law enforcement.
One question, BetPanda states it in their TOS to protect themselves and against users for potential issues that may arise. However, why is BetPanda, and any other casino offering it, VPN friendly? VPN is supposed to mask your address for privacy, but ultimately, your location might be appearing from another country. What's the point then? 99% of users using a VPN have a foreign IP, isn't that indirectly allowing you to gamble from a restricted country, and allowing you to do that with a VPN? Perhaps you might face issues with KYC when and if requested, because then, you'll have to declare your country of residence, but till then, you're free to play, right?
5  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: September 22, 2025, 08:40:23 PM
For the most part, moderators won't delete a service announcement written using AI. As far as marketing and promotional material is concerned, the mods probably consider an extra element of whether a post is redundant or spammy which doesn't factor in to non-promotional posts. But this may not be 100% the case and I think its good to report it whenever you see it. The less of this stuff there is on the forum, the better. If people want to post AI nothingness for the sake of promoting themselves, they have other platforms like X, Facebook and Reddit on which to do it.
I personally stopped reporting service announcement threads that were using AI, the reason being that they weren't deleted. I remember there was a topic about "accepted" usage of AI, if I remember correctly, in which we discussed that it's not a major issue to use AI for the ANN thread. There, I pointed out that it would be unacceptable, if the responses to user questions or feedback were also AI, in which most users agreed. Therefore, I'd only report someone who's still actively using it because they're too lazy to even reply themselves to a potential customer or investor. These posts were ultimately deleted after reporting.
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betpanda.io | Anonymous Crypto Casino | Welcome Bonus Up to 1BTC on: September 22, 2025, 08:19:56 PM
Why should someone from a restricted countries even make attempts to gamble on the site in the first place, i think if those gambler's actually read the terms and conditions of the casino, their should already know that the risk of losing their deposits is always there and should avoid using them entirely.

What i noticed is that some casinos allow users from restricted countries to gamble as ling as they dont violate the casino terms and abusing it, while the casino team make efforts to sort all regulatory problems that restricts their access into the region gambling market.

In all, is better safe than sorry so at the end avoiding them is the best line of action if you are restricted
Because often these countries are restricted by a large number of casinos, while those that aren't are regulated (meaning that you may also have to pay tax and use fiat currencies etc.). This is what often drives people into using casinos that are restricted in their country, and it's something I've also done myself, with TrustDice a few years ago, if I remember correctly. I was aware that at any point, I could have my account locked and my balance lost, but I acknowledged it and had accepted this possibility.

Knowing that, I always kept a small balance, while I wasn't that active in gambling back then, it wasn't too much of a risk, the amounts I was dealing with were quite minor.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Ranking up/down on: September 22, 2025, 07:41:08 PM
Oh wow, that's a huge thread with multiple wall-of-texts that I can't go through all at the moment. I don't necessarily disagree with @PowerGlove's theory that you need to still contribute after ranking up, someone who reaches Legendary ultimately doesn't have an ulterior "motive" to keep up with increasing their merit. This means that the post quality may deteriorate after ranking up, due to lack of motive. Agreeably, this is an issue, but from my perspective, is it worth addressing? What do I want to say, is the risk of losing website activity, active posters and generally creating a scene on the forum.

The merit system isn't perfect, but it's relatively adequate. This move would ultimately discourage some users who will struggle to maintain their ranks, may resort to lower traffic, less user base, and perhaps a loss in signature campaigns.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin’s Price Fall in the Coming Days? on: September 22, 2025, 06:27:19 PM
Bitcoin bullish market is yet to elapse to give in into the bearish market that has gained crops of speculations during the short time price dump in part of August, a period historically known for bitcoin price dump in bulls season.

What we saw price moving sideways in September was investors trapping their money watching what the Fed rate cut announcement will be looking as before releasing their money into the market. We all witnessed what the response of the market to the post announcement of the rate cut.

All of this indicates how the market fundamentals are presently having a huge influence on crypto market and wit institutions investments flows into bitcoin it's less likely that the bullish market will be off soonest this year.
What do you mean? Statistically, Bitcoin runs on 4 year old cycles, currently, we're towards the end of the "bullish" cycle. As 2026 approaches, we'll enter the bear market, although all of this isn't necessarily going to happen immediately, or at all, because all of this is just a pattern that has been observed so far. Bitcoin is still relatively new, so the statistical side of it can't be taken as a 100% fact. I'm personally believing that if there's a surge in price it'll be between October to November and it'll surpass the previous ATH.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greek Football 2025-2026 Season Discussion and Predictions on: September 22, 2025, 05:26:26 PM
However, Olympiakos has the luxury of using players from the bench who can make a difference and that happened at the end. Podences' and Taremis' entry changes the whole scenery, plus Panathinaikos looked very tired for these 30 minutes. They look exhausted, and obviously, they can't keep up with the tempo and the continuous pressure from Olympiakos. Good for me since this 1-1 result gave me a good chunk of profit. Grin
Both teams aren't on their best performance, Panathinaikos also lost against Kifisia approximately a week ago, while Olympiakos struggled with Pafos, something which isn't justified. I was also looking forward to a tie, I also placed my bet on it and successfully won with great odds. Hopefully, both teams will recover to their previous glory soon, we're still very early on the Greek Super League, so we can't be the judges just yet. I'm personally looking forward on next weekend's match of Olympiakos vs. Levadiakos, because Levadiakos has been on their top performance in this league.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inspiring mindset on: September 21, 2025, 09:53:34 PM
It would be more better if you have other source of income while your weekly signature earnings remain in Bitcoin, if you are single and still a young dude, then that's the best option for you at this point. Monthly savings in Bitcoin seems too slow for me, to be frank.

I only spend on my monthly earnings elsewhere and my signature earnings weekly are all stored in Bitcoin, I haven't touched a dime, depends on the kind of lifestyle I leave, I am not too kind of a luxury person, my simple lifestyle makes me save a lot.
Personally, although I do have the budget to dedicate a small portion of my salary towards investing in Bitcoin, I've resorted to the solution of keeping intact my weekly signature earnings. This has allowed me to indirectly "invest" in Bitcoin, without actually having to dedicate my monthly salary. I also save money through my bank accounts, not a huge sum, living costs have skyrocketted, but I wouldn't want to pressure myself into spending more than I can afford, which is why I've resorted to this solution. Thankfully, it has worked wonders so far, and I'm more than satisfied with the value of my coins.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin recap since the 2022 low, where are we heading to now.... on: September 21, 2025, 08:42:43 PM
Historically bitcoin makes it biggest moves in the latter part of the year October to December.

In 2024 for example bitcoin went from $60K to over $100k between October 1 and December 31.
I remember another member claiming the same thing recently, thus, explains why many people believe that there's a decent chance we'll have a breakthrough soon enough. Bitcoin is currently trending at $115,000, which I personally find a decent price, not deviating too much from the previous ATH, it's been ranging between $114,000 and $117,000 for quite some while now. A realistic target for current standards would be around $130,000 to $135,000, and that's if the resistance is broken, because Bitcoin has struggled surpassing $118,000 for quite some time now.

Do you believe that it's possible it'll follow the same pattern with 2024? It was a major surge in price, and Bitcoin's value is already near ATH levels.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greek Football 2025-2026 Season Discussion and Predictions on: September 21, 2025, 07:25:31 PM
Getting a red card in the first half and being behind by 1 goal didn't leave much hope for OFI. When the second half started and the first thing was another red for them, hope just vanished for any "good" result. With down to 9 men, no team can win or even get a draw.
The first half of the Athenian derby ended goalless. I truly hope things will be better in the second, because I'm getting bored...
Yeah, it didn't look great from the first few minutes of the game, scoring at the first minute was an insane play from Levadiakos, destroying OFI's moral immediately, while on the second half, they simply validated their win, by scoring another 3 goals minutes apart from each other. Levadiakos seems to be doing quite great so far, holding the 5th position in the Super League, while OFI is on the 12th.

As for the current derby, Panathinaikos has scored one goal so far, and we have 30 minutes left. I believe it'll ultimately end in a tie. Olympiakos performance isn't exactly top-notch either, judging by their previous game against Pafos.

Cry

Levadeiakos actually is performing very decently so far. From being in the relegation league last season to beating PAOK in the cup a few days ago they surely have strengthened their team a lot.

This is quite inspiring and gives me a bit of hope for the Greek league still. If a team can perform well and beat a much larget team shortly after it was about to be relegated there's some elements of surprise and fair play. I personally think given their good run so far OFI will have a hard time performing.
We got absolutely wrecked in today's match. Levadiakos scored 4 goals against OFI, something I wasn't expecting at all. Levadiakos had a great strategy and barely left OFI to touch the ball, with multiple shot attempts and a great offense overall. I wasn't sure about the outcome of the match, but I didn't expect OFI to lose by that much, nor that they would play that poorly.

I was also surprised to see that AEL vs. AEK ended in a tie, I would have expected AEK to win easier against a new team in the Super League, we're now waiting for the final derby in less than half an hour.

@condoras, we replied on the same time, it's a shame that OFI vs. Levadiakos ended that poorly. Thankfully, you saved yourself from a terrible match, had you placed a bet on OFI. Luckily, I placed an over 2.5 bet, but I was still disappointed that OFI lost.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to protect your Bitcointalk account from getting hacked. on: September 21, 2025, 05:19:24 PM
Let me add to your thread that your email address used to create your Bitcointalk account should be a different address to your commonly used addresses, usually the ones connected to your local banks or any hot wallet.

Secondly, in your account settings make sure to restrict your email address from displaying public.
This is the second most solid advice after using 2FA. I have three email addresses, using mostly the two on a daily basis, but my point is that my Bitcointalk account is registered through an old email address that isn't as "public" anymore. I won't use it on new sign-ups, nor does anyone barely know it. I have my official email address for the majority of my online activities, and the second one I'm using for Bitcointalk, although its initial purpose was to be used as my primary email, I changed it after a few years and left it mostly inactive.
17  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you find a new crypto casino? on: September 20, 2025, 11:26:37 PM
You will find most of popular casino on forum. But if you wants to broader your search option you should pass through Gambling site review's site and also you will find out some in Trust Pilot. I think it's important to have some trust pilot reviews if you are going to do some serious business on casino .

I hope you would find my answer helpfull
Gambling review sites provide an abundance of options, I personally cannot choose from such a wide selection. Also, the majority of such websites are affiliated in some way with the casino, thus, their rating may not be realistic or honest. Certainly, people are also affiliated with the casinos being advertised here, but you can actively check for complaints or any potential accusations that are standing and conduct your own research.

Personally, I find Bitcointalk the best portal in choosing a trusted and reputable casino.

That's true, and I was also surprised with their performance the previous league. They're a strong opponent against OFI and it's going to be a tough match. I haven't checked what odds it offers nor what am I going to bet on. It will certainly be tough to choose who's going to win, which means I'll have to come up with an alternative bet, perhaps over 2 or both teams scoring at least one goal. Can't judge before looking at the odds though, I'll check tomorrow and decide.

Quote
Olympiakos performed very badly as they could not even score a single goal against pafos this was a shocking result because Olympiakos is one team that is known as a team with European experience, I think that there is a lot of work to do on the part of Olympiakos going into Europe because there is still a lot of areas in their team that needs areas of improvement.

As for the derby match that is coming up this weekend between Olympiakos and panathinakos I think that Olympiakos has the hedge in this game because when it comes to the local in Olympiakos seems to have the key but this game is going to be a BTTS because both teams are currently in form.
Yeah, I saw some highlights and their game was far from the best, Pafos did quite good, but it's unacceptable from Olympiakos to not score a single goal. I didn't place any bets on today's matches because I didn't believe any of them were anything interesting, apart from Atromitos vs. Panserraikos, which ended in a tie. I'm looking forward for tomorrow, and hopefully OFI is going to win.
The latest news is that Levadiakos will miss Verbic, a crucial player for them. So, OFI chances become bigger, I most likely support them as well.
This is good news for the upcoming match, Levadiakos is a decent team, but this update is going to further assist tomorrow's game.

Wow, I've lost some extremely interesting stuff the past few days that I was occupied. I wasn't aware that Pafos was playing against Olympiakos, and even managed to hold them from scoring a single goal, kudos to Pafo's team for their performance! I'm personally looking forward to Sunday's derby of Olympiakos vs. Panathinaikos; there are some other interesting options as well, but I'm expecting it to be THE game of this weekend. Of course, another match I'm looking forward to is OFI vs. Levadiakos, in which I'm confident that we'll win.
