Ultegra134 this will count as your 14th day which means you are the first person to complete the challenge. Congratulations! You will receive your merit shortly.
Wow, the days passed so fast. Thank you for this learning opportunity! Throughout all these years I'm involved in cryptocurrencies, I had never installed Bitcoin Core, at least the recent years. I had probably installed it when I first learned about Bitcoin somewhere in 2014, but I highly doubt if I ever got it fully synced and running. I'll keep in synced and running whenever my computer is enabled. It has been a great experience, thank you once again for the opportunity!

Hello manager, from what I saw a person with the same rank as mine was accepted into another campaign, so I take the initiative to submit my candidacy to this campaign, if you place the position open, consider my application.
I think it's best to wait for the manager to announce a position before applying. A quick look at the previous two pages would be enough to see why I'm telling you this.

Progress: (valid as of the creation date of this post)
~Snipped~

If you see any error in the progress report like your name isn't listed correctly, and so on, please let me know so I can fix it.
Not a big deal, but I've noticed a mistake on my behalf, today should be my 13th day, but I've posted the 10th day twice, instead of 10th and 11th, thus, missing one day. I can go ahead and edit the previous posts or I can simply run the node for an extra day. I'm fine either way, waiting for your instructions.

746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to generate a Bitcoin Statement of Transaction on: January 16, 2024, 01:37:25 PM
I wasn't aware of this feature until a few years ago, due to the signature campaign manager using Blockchair.com. It's not a bad guide and quite detailed, even though I'm not quite sure how this statement can be used in practice. Although it does provide you with a lot of information, each transaction has the exact amounts and transaction hashes, and it may be useful if you're looking for a specific transaction, but I can't imagine how it can actually be used; it's not a bank statement that has an actual purpose in case of a loan or credit card request.

Moreover, you have blurred the wallet address, but everything else, including transaction TXs and the QR code, is available in public view, which is kind of contradictory in terms of your privacy.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights on the potential future of Bitcoin and the importance of taking action as enthusiasts. Your perspective on the finite supply of Bitcoin, its potential value with mass adoption, and the need for personal involvement resonates with many in the community.

It's crucial to recognize that while the concept of mass adoption is exciting, it also poses challenges and opportunities. Your emphasis on being an active participant through hodling is a call to action for everyone who believes in the long-term potential of Bitcoin.

Your personal commitment to acquiring your first $10 worth of Bitcoin is a commendable step, and it's a reminder that one doesn't need to start with large amounts. Consistent small investments can add up over time, aligning with the principle of dollar-cost averaging.

Your encouragement for others to start their Bitcoin journey and not just be spectators is a powerful message. The importance of faith and action going hand-in-hand in the world of cryptocurrency cannot be overstated. May your journey as a hodler be prosperous, and may your message inspire others to take their first steps into the world of Bitcoin this year.

Congratulations on realizing your dream of opening your own bar! It's truly inspiring to see your perseverance and hard work pay off, especially after patiently waiting for the right opportunity. Your dad's support with the generous contribution of #2,000,000 is a fantastic boost, and it's wonderful that you've used it to set up your bar with a variety of drinks.

Using Bitcoin as a medium of payment for your business is a forward-thinking move, considering the increasing interest in cryptocurrency in your country. The picture you provided of the transaction from your dad, along with your BTC SegWit address and the settings of your bar, gives a clear insight into your journey.

I understand the concerns about high transaction fees and congestion in the mempool. It's a common challenge, but as the crypto space continues to evolve, we can hope for improvements in scalability solutions. In the meantime, offering both BTC and fiat payment options is a smart approach to cater to a broader customer base.

Wishing you tremendous success with your new venture in 2024! May your bar become a thriving hub for locals, and may you continue to grow and prosper in your business endeavors. If there's anything the community can do to support you or if you have updates to share, feel free to keep us posted. Cheers to a prosperous year ahead!

Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for sharing this valuable information with the community. It's great to see members contributing to each other's knowledge and helping everyone make the most of their Bitcoin experience.

I must say, generating a Bitcoin Transaction Statement is indeed a crucial skill that many might overlook. Your detailed step-by-step guide using "blockchair.com" is fantastic, especially for those who may be new to the concept or unaware of this feature. It's essential for everyone in the crypto space to be aware of how they can provide legitimate proof of their transactions if the need ever arises.

Your example of the Bitcoin Transaction Statement is clear and should be a helpful reference for anyone going through the process for the first time. I appreciate you taking the initiative to share this, as it adds another layer of transparency to our community and helps dispel any misconceptions that might exist about people earning through legitimate means in the digital space.

Looking forward to more insightful contributions from you in the coming year! If anyone has questions or needs clarification on the process, feel free to ask. Let's continue to support each other in navigating the world of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 16, 2024, 12:44:21 PM
I also remember playing Crash on Bustabit and TrustDice, and I often observed what multiplier others withdrew and how much money they made or lost. I'm not sure about TrustDice, but on Bustabit you could also see the gross profit of other players, and trust me, some users had lost extravagant amounts of money on that game. Thus, although you may be focusing on the successful bets, it's important to know that behind those success stories, there are many more who have lost excessive amounts of money.

That was my reality check to stop checking how much others earned. It's still fascinating to see people earning large amounts of money within seconds, but I don't focus on it nor do I comment on it.
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 16, 2024, 08:39:16 AM
It's not a bad suggestion, but I don't know how that would work out. I've seen a few casinos with an online chat, but it's often global, and there's a ton of messages with no logical flow or a topic of discussion. I personally wouldn't bother having small talk on an online gambling platform; I don't see much point, nor is there something specific, except the game in which you're both participating, to discuss. That could be just me, though, because I'm not participating in such live games, but perhaps it could be a nice addition, along with the feature of being able to add other people as friends and socialize.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: January 15, 2024, 11:01:48 PM
A new project was announced this morning and is about to go live in Binance's Launchpool in the next hour. The Manta coin will be available for staking for only two days. 80% of the total allocated rewards will be through the BNB pool, and the other 20% will come from the FDUSD one.

According to Cryptocult, a Twitter account that has been focusing on Launchpool projects, Manta is likely to be worth $1.5 to $2.5 per coin, while an optimistic approach would be anywhere from $3 to $5.

Well, the two-day staking period won't yield much coins unless you have a large amount of BNB, so for the majority of us who don't, this Launchpool doesn't seem like a big deal.

Merit is supposed to be earned; you're indirectly asking for merit by including the Bible in his post. This is to distinguish who's worth ranking up and who isn't. Judging by your posts, I don't see a reason why anyone should give you merit. Ranting about it won't help you either, you're working against yourself.

On top of that, you're using AI content in your posts, you're not going to get far with this attitude.

I almost finished synchronizing. Currently at 91.5% and 34 weeks behind. It'll probably be fully synchronized in the upcoming 5 to 6 hours at most. I might consider increasing the prune block storage to 40 or 50 GB from 35, as we have a couple of days more till the end of the challenge. I wish I could download more, but my internet speed sucks big time.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 13, 2024, 04:48:32 PM
This is no different than playing the Lotto here in the United States.  There's both a federal or nationwide lotto as well as each state has their own lotto.  I rarely ever play because the way I see it, the odds are so extremely low that I'd rather gamble my $5 or $10 on some sort of shitcoin with a potential to pump and dump.  I just see that as a better bet.  I guess it can't hurt throwing a few bucks at it, I mean you can't win unless you play right.
That's one way to say it, indeed. This isn't any different than the lotteries available in most countries, offering millions to one lucky winner. I've never played either, because the chances of winning are so slim that you're more likely to be struck by lightning. In the OP's case, I personally wouldn't participate. $50 isn't a huge amount of money, but you can easily get carried away and bet two, three, or more times, quickly getting out of hand, and the amount lost is adding up fast. I'd rather spend a few dollars with the potential to earn a few minor amounts.
756  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [CHALLENGE] Run A Bitcoin Node: 14 Days To 14 Merits on: January 13, 2024, 03:28:07 PM
Does it actually make any noticeable difference to the overall percentage though? I suspect what is happening is that when you restart you are simply interrupting the sampling process, and so when you restart Core thinks it is running faster than it is.
I've also noticed than restarting Bitcoin Core seems to boost the progress per hour, while indeed there's a difference in the total progress as well. However, I've noticed that it only last a few seconds and seems to get stuck after a while, and it seems to halt for a few seconds. From my understanding, it's purely visual and the halt is due to the start-up "boost" of a few seconds.
757  Other / Off-topic / Re: Know when to stop on: January 13, 2024, 02:41:57 PM
Know your limits for sure, both emotionally and financially. I see threads asking if you're gambling at work, and I'm thinking, who in the right mind would do this? But in reality, you see some people actually going for it. Although they might not be spending a lot of time or money in the process, it's a sign that you can't go without it. It's also vital to not keep a large amount of money deposited in your casino accounts; it can easily get out of hand. The same thing applies to what the OP mentioned already: while encountering large wins, don't start aiming for the stars; be thankful for what you've earned and withdraw; otherwise, you're way more likely to lose everything.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Bitcoin price history is important on: January 13, 2024, 10:58:34 AM
So you mean to say Bitcoin won't make ATH this time around 1/1.5 years after halving?
Nothing is guaranteed, although I understand what the OP is trying to say. As @mindrust already mentioned, past data doesn't predict the future. Yes, the historical data show that Bitcoin has been performing in approximately 4-year-old circles, but that alone cannot guarantee what's going to happen in the future. Moreover, we don't have enough data to safely say that this will also happen in 4, 8, 12 years, and so on. If we suppose that we had a history of 30-year-old data and identified that every circle runs every 4 years and the price surges to a new ATH every time, or close at least, then we could be more confident in what we could predict for the future.
My trust in Bitcoin grew exponentially when I knew the price history of Bitcoin.
I was completely disheartened when Bitcoin crashed in 2017/2018, and lost interest in cryptocurrencies. After I saw what capabilities it had, rising up to $20.000 again. in 2020, I was certain that I needed to get back on track.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 13, 2024, 09:08:39 AM
I believe physical casinos bring out the worst version of yourself. They're built in a way to crush your self-control; there is neither a physical light nor a clock, on purpose, in order to make you lose track of time. I'd never visit one myself; they're built against you, and one way or another, you will become a victim of their practices. Imagine being so lost and so focused on playing that you're not even bothering to go to the toilet. This is a complete degradation; nothing about this is entertaining. I wouldn't step in, no matter what; their practices are scammy and based on your weaknesses.

I'd rather stick to my online casino, which is much more accessible, and I can stop at any time, being in the comfort of my own home.
760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a means to an end, Do it for fun and don't take it as a job on: January 13, 2024, 07:31:56 AM
Yes, but in order to be a streamer you have to be successful. As you say, people who play poker, and I would add sports betting, can take it as a job but today if they start from scratch it's going to take a lot more time and effort than it did 10 years ago. The normal thing is to start learning while doing other activities, such as work or studies, and when you see that you are progressing and earning more money there is a moment when you can consider becoming a professional and dedicate yourself to it. Being a streamer, or influencer, is an addition to the income from the game, because what you earn by broadcasting, making videos or advertising is extra income.
Moreover, becoming a streamer isn't that simple; set aside whether or not someone is successful in gambling. There're literally tons of streamers out there; why would anyone watch you? Are you capable of providing something different for your audience, or are you just like anyone else? It's the exact same thing when everyone thought they could suddenly become a YouTube content creator, providing generic content with no diversification.

You can become a professional gambler; does that mean that you should? The majority of us ultimately lose money from gambling; an even smaller percentage would be capable of turning it into a profession; it would require an abundance of time to analyze sports betting because that field is supposedly based on knowledge as well, and even then, there are certainly no guarantees.
