I'm sure not the only one here hosting at cryptoboreas, probably another thread on this topic but they shut down and landlord holding all miners. Thats where almost all of mine are and thus unable to mine here till this is resolved. By the time that happens, all my miners will be worthless. I know there are a few people with 5+ PH in miners also hosting there, what are we to do? Anyone have any more info or link to thread?
Apparently some of the smaller miners were going to be transferred to GND in Labrador City last week
(I've actually spent a few days at that GND datacentre that is quite literally out in the middle of nowhere)
I've no idea what actually happened with the transfer though,
but it would appear it hasn't happened yet.
The outage started around Aug-14 17:30 UTC

Yea, I think some are still held up for back rent by landlord, possible some were already sent to GND. Mine are still down.

So we missed an entire difficulty level... The entire time network difficulty was 2603B (from Jan 22 to Feb 6) we did not find a block... Has that ever happened before?

I hate to say it, but we might be getting too small...  I can accept variance, but at what point is it too high?

The answer is "what ever fits into your comfort level", pure and simple.  I'm fine with it.

Been here for years, variance will be high with 50Ph, but I see the issue as lost fees, for a while we had crazy high transaction fees (3-9 BTC Fees) so not finding blocks during those times hurts overall rewards. In the end its always 100% but missing bocks at those crazy high fee times hurts...

Just saying....

What is the recommended Chip temp for S9?
Im currently running between 85-91C.

under 95 c  is okay

over 100 c is not so good.

in-between 95c - 100c   is unit to unit.

based on  use of 20 units from  June 2016 until now.

also room temps   can be cold  10c  or warm  35c

and inbetween.

Getting a couple S9's online, 14TH batch. Any way to adjust the fan speed and Clock anymore? cold basement and chips are 68-71. I'd like to turn fans down for noise and run chips around 88-92. I remember seeing a URL link to still access the fan and click settings, latest shipped FW does not have those options anymore.

Where did you get these from?

Ordered a couple months ago directly from Bitmain. I was the December batch, just received them yesterday. Tempted to sell some since going for over 5K on Ebay, but who know BTC could be 25k in a couple months

I got mine Friday, hooked it up to make sure it worked and listened to the wife bitch about how loud it is.  On E-Bay now...  The L3+'s she can deal with, but the S9 is just too loud!!

Yea, its loud. I'm trying to see how I can turn down the fan speed from 4200 to around 3200. My temps are low and miners in basement so its cold down there. Last winter I ran 3 S7's for heat and 3000-3200 RPM was fine and manageable noise.

You can always build a box with intake and exhaust holes and soundproof it.

I've seen that, but I remember someone posted a miner config link that still lets you adjust fan speed and clock settings....I prefer to do that

no go bro can no longer be done.

build a tunnel like I did

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2245487.0

Issue solved, my son built me a arduino based modulator/controller that spoofs the fan speed to the miner at 90% and I can enter any fan speed I want. For me 45% is perfect, quiet and temps between 70-75. Actual RPM now is about 3600 and miner thinks its 90%. What a difference in noise. If anyone wants one of these fan speed modulators, please PM me. It spoofs the speed to the miner so it keeps hashing and allows you to enter any percentage you want to run, realtime edits. Watch your temps and keep dialing down the fan speed till you get he sound and temp to where you want them.

That's as good as it gets but not fan speed directly just a small amount of control over the max frequency

Well that sucks, I was able to run a quiet 2900-3200 RPM in the past, now these suckers stay at 4250. Don't know if I can take the humming

OK I think I see whats going on here.

If you look at this block, mined by BTC.COM here: https://btc.com/0000000000000000001bc14d31cd78cba9af69b4ef9af8fac9f3aabb260658de

You can see the size is over a Meg but the stripped size is under.

Same for the raw data for the last KanoPool block here: https://btc.com/0000000000000000001e04433a329abe9308ce304f64da81e8ec1c9d3522308b

I thought the >1MB blocks would need the hard fork which is yet to come?

I was thinking the same thing.  Anything that looks > 1 MB right now is "virtual", using the last upgrade's technology, but technically is still within the 1 MB limit.

M

Yep, makes sense. That was my original question. Just odd that on BTC.com most other blocks are over 1M, at least appear that way. When you look at the details, they show stripped size and size. Did not notice that till now. Thanks for all the responses  Smiley

So this last block (492,961), why is the size 998,181kb while most of the previous blocks were over 1MB and had more transaction fees. I have noticed most other miners are minting blocks over 1MB and wanted to see if Kano is limited.

Related kinda to this pool, I sent a mining reward consolidation transaction manually to a different wallet and obviously calculated the fee to low. Its been unconfirmed for about 5 days now. When will it drop from the men pool and get returned or any other way to get it confirmed?

PS. Paid 0.00010039 per/kb

ID: e9b0fbc32d32f160fc7b746d929c8519d14ab9393aed3dd03ec422d15d59e408

Thanks,

I've pushed the transaction to another pool's transaction "accelerator", you should see a confirmation within the next few hours.

If that doesn't work, your transaction is Opt In RBF, so you can replace the fee with a greater fee if needed and try to get a confirmation that way.

Done, that worked! Confirmed! Thanks. Be nice if Kano had an accelerator for all the loyal miners where .0001/kb could still be feasible.

Thanks again

Excellent, thank you. I actually tried to replace using electrum wallet increase fee option but failed the few times with "Cannot bump fee: cound not find suitable outputs"
