I mean, technically the guy isn't lying. He says: - "This pdf will tell you, that there is no way of making easy money" (Referring to the pdf itself) - "I will give you a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn something" Obviously if you are dumb enough to buy the pdf, you will definitely learn something alright

I'm also curious about withdrawal fees- does it depend on the size of the mempool as well? These past few days it's been quite high (50+ sat/byte) but it's come back down to 15 sat atm so I was wondering if we can choose an even lower tx fee than the one offered.
Actually from what csmiami said above, withdrawal txs are already paying ~15 sats/byte but us users are still paying higher so I guess that's what he's asking about.

The only explanation I can come up with is that SWC hates money. But I refuse to believe that that's the reason. Please help me understand, the decision is mind boggling to me. It's $200 bucks man, every other site, regardless how small they are, runs them!
Same, for the low stakes they got rid of the 100 chip turbo rebuy which almost always managed to cover the guarantee and at first they made up that they had a special event for the weekend to replace it but seems it's permanently gone and there aren't any other tournaments in that time slot. I asked around in the lobby chat and at least got a response there from @twitch instead of the silent treatment here, though he only said it's on hiatus. Also according to some regs, rebuys are broken but the 500 and 1000 chip rebuys still run (but draw in a smaller crowd than the 100 chip!), not to mention a few rebuys in the quarantine series so idk about that.

Points from first to last is literally the best way to encourage sitting out (apart from an upside down last gets most structure). In this case they would be rewarded for sitting out straight from the beginning, in contrast to the fixed 10 place structure where they would have to fight for points when they decide to finally play.
|
|
|
And what does everyone think about a more top heavy points structure 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1? Helps the guys in the midfield separate from each other if they manage to get a more than decent finish. Also helps with reducing ties, makes comebacks possible right until the last round, and missing out on one or two games won't hurt you that much if you think you can finish ITM a few times.
Please consider the players at the bottom. its really depressing to have 0 points. even the odd point would be an ego boost for us. Why not make a system that rewards every player? 10 places are still given points in my proposed structure- if you had 0 points, you would have 0 points in either structure. And scoring points would give a player with no points an even bigger boost than currently.

Same, top 3 is good just like any sit and go. Consider the first part the satellite to the paying sit and go. All 9 paid would be too diluted
Swapping action between finalists could be allowed and would decrease variance. Would be easy and safe too since the prize is centralised with efialtis already. Also, you could consider changing the points distribution to 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 which wouldn't change anything at the top of the leaderboard but could give the lower end a better chance to jump up if they finish in the top 4. Also makes ties less likely.

While we welcome any and all players of all skill levels, the end result I hope to achieve is to hang out with each other, play poker, and have fun. The money is just a secondary added bonus. You're paying an extra $1.40 roughly on top of the $7-7.50 buyin per game for good clean fun. Shouldn't be about 9% or a decent prize pool.
Just an FYI, 1st in the regular games has been paying between 9000 and 12000 chips for 1st. That alone is a decent prize pool considering the buyin.
You're right, money isn't the main point of this series. I've been following and observing this from the sidelines since the beginning but a few factors led me to not participate, the main one being that I live in Australia and didn't really want to wake up 3am in the morning to play. That's not anybody's fault (it's one of the disadvantages of living here) but I reckon that would outweigh a large portion of the fun I'm sure I would have. When I was asking about the consolation tournament, I was planning to do an all-nighter just once. I hope you can understand how being told I'd have to play in the series as well to enter sounds dissuading. I'd simply rather play at a time I'm normally awake; the rake is indeed insignificant but reminds me that I could just play any regular tournament. Even if I didn't mind waking up early, I can't possibly join in late now as I wouldn't forgive myself for not giving myself the best chances to win by playing from the start. Best wishes to your tournament and I hope there'll be a more favourable opportunity to play poker with you guys in the future.

You will have to play in at least one of this series' tournaments but with two tournaments left, you still have the chance. If you win both, you may even qualify for the Championship game. And I'm assuming I'd still have to pay the 200 championship fee? So realistically speaking I'd be paying 9% rake across a series game and the consolation game so I'd be better off playing any regular tournament on SwC, unless I could choose to donate the 200 to the consolation one's prize pool instead. I'll likely pass on this one thanks, but I could be persuaded by a decent guaranteed prize.

What is your tag on SwC ? I have been getting up to speed with freeroll tournaments. I have the same name as here.
In SwC it's bttBt. In sportsbet, I did not play much yesterday and today it keeps saying it's not available in my zone LOL. I tried to reset the tor several times but no luck yet - An additional game for all the great players who unfortunately didn' t make it to the final, is set for 5/3, 1 PM EST / 5 PM GMT.
Very good to know this for the losers. Possibly I will be one of them LOL So Sunday is the day! Losers is the wrong word man - the others just got extremely lucky... Regarding that runners-up tournament - we will even have a guaranteed prize! Will users who haven't participated in this series yet like me be allowed to join in on this one, or will they have to play in at least either one of the last 2 tournaments first?

Thank you for the feedback. It will be considered as the team crafts the schedule going forward. If you have a favorite tournament that you'd like to see continue or an idea for a new tournament please feel free to share. Not everything will be possible but it will be taken in to consideration.
I know I'm beating a dead horse but there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't just put it back in right now. I looked back to every Turbo Rebuy 3k I entered to (sample size 10) and it has been very popular: 8/10 times the prize pool was 4500+ chips and only once did it not reach the guaranteed prize pool, at a total buyin of 2800. So you guys are missing out on the rake it directly makes from the tournament, as well as the indirect rake from encouraging users to stay on Swcpoker - there are no other NLH tournaments at the 10:00 pm GMT timeslot on Wednesday, only an 11-game tournament and a satty. Ask yourself this: what's the main game your player base plays, and who are you prioritising? But you don't even have to choose one over the other because multi-tabling is a thing! Even if there was a special NLH tournament at this time slot, the Turbo Rebuy could and should still go on. They can't "compete" with one another if you're worried about not getting enough entries into special tournaments, since it would only draw in more players. The only exception to this would be if it was an exact copy, with the same blinds and structure but higher buyin (200-250) like I have suggested before you could do on the weekends. At least today (Tuesday) there was a NLH tournament at 10pm, though it was 100x the buyin of the Turbo Rebuy. How many 100 chip buyin players from the Turbo Rebuy do you think have a large enough bankroll to buy into that? I don't get it guys, this has got to be one of the easiest business decisions out there.
|
|
|
One more thing: tournament 42493856 vs tournament 42500874. Both are Turbo NLH non-guarantee events, but one is 240+10(4% fee) and the other is 235+15(6% fee)?? Puzzling how identical tournaments have different amounts of rake, especially since on your rake table it says non-gtd events are raked 5% or less.
|
|
|
Can I also ask, is there any reason why the turbo rebuy 3k GTD doesn't take place on the weekend?
Some daily tournaments may be removed if there is a special weekly tournament that takes it's place. Fair enough, but could you point out which tourn was the replacement? The Saturday Special started 2 hrs before the 3k turbo rebuy's usual time (and it's not a rebuy) and the Nightly Rebuy started 5 hours later. If you're going to replace a regular weekday tournament, I'm all for playing at a higher stake and potentially deeper field on the weekend, but at least have it at around the same time and game type! You could just double the buyin to 200 and keep it in the same spot.

^ Too small at 1/2 - 2/4 imo (that's like nano stakes converted to USD). But SWC could at least start them at 10/20 (which I have been suggesting) to get some more action going on there and build their poker economy off of that.
Yeah SwC_Poker, now that it's even rarer to hit the BBJ, is there any chance it can be added to 10/20 and even 5/10? You could always pay just 20% of the actual jackpot for winners in these rooms since the stakes are lower- proportionally it would still be a jackpot.
