2  Economy / Securities / Re: FeedZeBirds UPDATE Feb 9, 2013 on: April 03, 2013, 09:26:12 AM
Erik,

Given my points above and your own admission of what a "sub-par" investment this has been for us shareholders, don't you think it makes sense to perhaps consider a refund or buy-back with whatever's left of IPO proceeds rather than attempt a reboot of this dog?

With all due respect to you and your (otherwise) impressive entrepreneurial record, I bet it wouldn't take much more than a rounding error of proceeds from one of your other more successful ventures to offer an amicable parting of ways with the original FZB investors and remove this ugly stain from your track record.

Shareholders have had zero opportunities for liquidity since GBLSE and frankly may not be interested in sticking around even longer to see if this can be resurrected.  I'm sure you're very busy with other things.  Also, given the USD/BTC move since IPO and the very different Bitcoin investment landscape these days, I'm sure many other investors besides myself would be VERY HAPPY to get something back TODAY other than zero, rather than waiting around to see if this bird will ever fly.

What do you think?

Amen. If some sort of amicable settlement cannot be reached, I think the only other recourse the shareholders have are to apply for a scammer tag.

Its probably the only way you can force Eric's hand here.

BFL_Josh (Shoutbox) - Ok folks, Luke is the proud owner of the first BFL Little Single ASIC  off the line as of about an hour and a half ago.  Since he's a paying  customer and also a miner  developer, we've shipped him the first Little  Single since his order  was one of the first ones in the queue from last  year.  More to follow  as soon as we get the revised PCBs  and the rest of the   chips in. So we've officially shipped on March 31st, 2013.  So this is not an April Fools joke.

Excluding USPS, for that's a given, which carrier was kind enough to be open on Easter Sunday late evening to pick up the parcel? I've already eliminated FedEx, DHL and Big Brown, therefore it only leaves out the ones I'm not aware of.

To be clear...

THERE IS NO FUCKING WAY THAT BFL SHIPPED ANYTHING ON EASTER SUNDAY

4  Economy / Securities / Re: Largest Bitcoin loss to date. on: April 02, 2013, 01:43:30 AM
I recall BS&T being just about BTC500k. (Although that's coming purely from memory and I wouldn't be able to cite a source Tongue)

I think it was estimated at 500k btc of account balances after compounding at 7% for several weeks, not that he actually had that much. Not that I would know, I never invested in that (or any of the things invested in it).

No you are usually the one running the ponzi.

There is no way to tell if it wasnt a massive case of insider trading using a fake account to bleed the profits from bondholders  Tongue

This is possibly an april fools joke but im guessing if they did act like this it would cause the opposite effect than what they want.

8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Update 03-25-2013 on: March 29, 2013, 12:00:38 AM
Funny how we get this Jr. Member troll that quotes Josh.   Is this Josh?    You think this is a game but in reality it is not.   Think ahead.

There is no "think" with those who ordered any of ASIC products. It is simple - could I make serious money? If yes, invest, all else secondary.

Reality is not a game? How come, when most people play it like it is "Age of Empires", currently at "soon to be over" stage? You can think an
eon ahead, but it won't bring any good if you are narrow-minded. You'll end exactly the way each and all "Age of Empires" games end, sooner
or later.

Here is the post you were maybe looking for.

Quote from: BFL_Josh
"The process to bring a brand new ASIC to life is not as simple as turning it on. The fact that some people BFL thinks it is, is an indicator that they have never actually done so. There is a lot of testing, poking, prodding and debugging that needs to happen to get a chip up and running and if someone BFL tells you differently, they are incorrect, plain and simple."

They are just some cowboys that managed to get the funding done (venture capital, pre order money), outsourced everything and naively took the best case scenarios from their subcontractors for their estimates.

Fixed. If they, company who delivered FPGAs before, are cowboys, who are you? Have you achieved anything worth showing-off to others?
ASIC? FPGA? Some other Bitcoin-related hardware? Or a software maybe? Commits to Bitcoin git hub? Miner or wallet software? Or at least a
blog? None of those. All you and people like you are doing is forum crawling, posting valueless crap around. If I'm mod, you and people like you
would be banned since there is nothing valuable you have to add to Bitcoin.

You run something called "bitcoin megastore" that uses cafepress and doesnt even accept bitcoin.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Beef with BFL (Constructive Criticism Only) on: March 28, 2013, 11:52:27 PM
Anyone offering a product to sell which doesnt actually exist should be moved to speculation or "possible scam" board.

10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: advertising budget of BFL on: March 28, 2013, 11:32:48 PM
Is there seriously anybody who uses bitcointalk who doesn't know what BFL is, and what they are about by now? Why the hell are they spending $1800(so far) to buy up all the ads here.

$1,800 isn't really all that much money when you consider 2 Mini Rigs probably pay for it.

No, but on the other hand they are spending pre-order money like it's order money. They're flying people in from all over the place to sit around and watch them suck at doing everything. They claim to have 22 employees who have been sitting around doing what for the past 9 months? There seems to be cash flying out the door when they haven't actually delivered a product yet.

Yes 2 mini rigs probably pay for it, but the mini rig doesn't fucking exist yet.

JUst before pirate ponzi collapsed some prominent community members had dinner with him in vegas which probably drew in more suckers.
11  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - US-based Exchange w/ Margin Trading on: March 28, 2013, 08:03:55 AM
Probably not a good idea to name your exchange after a notorious scam that was pulled by Patrick Harnett.

I guess spending half a million bucks means you forget to google your own domain in relation to bitcoin's past.

it really isn't worth arguing, but just one more question and then i'll leave it alone...how long you think you're power will be on if the 'Internet' fails? again, i should just shut up, but talking about proposing any network to simply act as a 'backup' for the internet just doesn't make sense in my world...but who knows what works in your world...

You dont have a solar array and/or a generator in case your power goes out ?

newb.

14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Shouldnt we be funding/supporting a mesh network ? on: March 28, 2013, 01:28:15 AM

I'm talking about the Internet...seriously, maybe you have some secret knowledge i'm not aware of, but what are you going to overlay 'your' particular flavor of mesh onto?

Nothing.  We're talking about backup infrastructure for bitcoin.

Moonshadow is correct.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin: unregulate-able? on: March 27, 2013, 08:07:03 PM
With the US announcing its desire to 'regulate' bitcoin, can anyone comment if this is even possible with the open-source/decentralized structure of the bitcoin set up?

They are going after the fiat exchange market, which is about all they can do without an outright ban or attack via extreme censorship.

Something I see as more likely than not eventually.  Probably taking the form of blocking all encrypted traffic for which no usable back-door can be readily verified.  Several 'cyber 911's and it's a done deal as I see it.  And of course some taxpayer money to subsidize DPI infrastructure...much of which would slosh out of the bucket into the waiting hands of the well connected.

Or they will just build internet2...
18  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: March 27, 2013, 02:05:51 PM
updated OP to add Josh Zerlan's DirecTV hacking past:

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCOURTS-ksd-2_03-cv-02287

Also to add a working theory:

Josh Zerlan seems to know almost nothing about ASIC manufacturing, so how did he get that job?  What about this recent post about how Josh appears to be a customer of BFL as well?  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=157329.0

just spitballin' here, but what if josh bought a few minirigs?  he runs Eclipse mining pool, and seems to have set up his own mining rigs.  Of course he would be a natural BFL customer... so he has some pre-orders, then maybe they talk him into working for hardware or something.  I wonder if JZ is even getting paid...

I don't know who the puppetmaster is, but Sonny or that Nassir guy seem top of the list.
