1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR-stak-JK 2.4.4 Compiled with no devfee on: October 18, 2018, 08:35:14 AM
Hi JK hope all is well; I just compiled 2.5 with VS17 and CUDA 10.

Guys just so you know compiling this miner isn't really difficult. You will learn alot just by compiling it yourself. I did this and I have 0 coding or programming experience.

https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/blob/master/doc/compile_Windows.md

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-V0eonlpD8

I used these as guides to compile. Anyways 2.5 is working but you will notice a slight drop in hash rate most likely due to the new algo. Make sure to update before 10/18!
Ahh, they finally released an update.... I've been waiting for this....

I have a separate machine on my main network now I can remote into and have a fresh start with installing VS and the toolkits; and it wont have bandwidth limits like I do at home.  Ill probably get on this soon.

Then the regular stripping of devfee addresses and setting value to 0.0 and compile.

I believe the original intent was Cuda 8.0, and i believe it produced the best hashrates... but i could be wrong.

Looks like I need to get on this tomorrow.  Ill be updating my personal miner with the official release for the short term.

Thanks for all the efforts. You said you comipled with CUDA, does the miner also work with AMD cards properly?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: July 03, 2018, 03:19:54 AM
I guess that this coins would be great, well it will need time to increase the value. Patience are the key and keep in mind that this is a long term investment which will give a great return.

That is right. The price of ZEC rose about 40% in the last two weeks.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: May 22, 2018, 02:28:45 PM
I do not think that Zcash is a good coin for investment.  It's better to invest in eth, it's more reliable.

They are for different purpose. So both could be good.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: May 02, 2018, 06:03:06 PM
I would not recommend investing in Zcash.  It is better to invest this money in BTC or ETH.  I think this is a good choice.
The price of Zcash moves is not comparable to Ethereum. If I have spare cash I would buy both. The growth of Zcash is slow but if you look at the price history of Zcash, every time there is an event, the price slightly go up. Next event for Zcash is next month according to the road map so if you are willing to take a risk, buying now I guess is a good idea.

That is right. Maybe I will buy a few more coins like Monero or Bitcoin Cash.
5  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-25] Bitcoin to See Significant Improvements in Privacy and Scaling on: March 26, 2018, 08:16:32 AM
Solving the scaling issues with Bitcoin would be awesome and sidechains would be an excellent addition as well. To be the perfect crypto, true anonymity would be great, but this is probably not something most mainstream crypto investors care a lot about. It is the investors and speculators that are driving the price of Bitcoin at the moment. If this ever changes, we will see more practical features like true anonymity and maybe some kind of basic smart contract, though I like that Bitcoin is a "store of value" only.

I agree with that. But some people will care about it and the price will rise as a result.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: February 03, 2018, 09:02:02 PM

Although I doubt much that it will overtake Bitcoin, it is the cool crypto. Zcash is good to be mined as well. You get more profit from mining this alt than from mining BTC, for example. I believe that Zcash will start gaining in a month or a bit more.

The difficulty of mining bitcoin is rising to much. I think it is better to mine the ZEC.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 27, 2018, 05:55:00 PM
I've read that I could get USD 20 worth of free byteball bytes
my byteball wallet have zero bytes
PZQ3XR5HCDF5L7BLYLL65VZAFAN5M4NG
What's next?

Where did you hear that?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: November 23, 2017, 08:30:09 AM
what would be a good safe site to buy zcash from?

Poloniex or Bittrex.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: November 09, 2017, 09:15:10 AM
Zcash is a good coin, but, have a inestable price

That is similar to other good coins such as Bitcoin Cash or the ETH.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: November 06, 2017, 09:43:23 AM
sry guys, i dumped... i dumped real hard. But dont worry i'll be back in the game when price is like fiddy bucks. I believe in this project.
Lol now I'm curious how much are we talking about?  Grin

Can't be a lot since byteball has only dropped 10% today.  It's now at nearly 11%.
The real value drop is because of bitcoin dropping so much today.
$7570 to $7134 at the time of the post.

The problem is that the BYTE has dropped against bitcoin in the last three months.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: October 12, 2017, 03:14:55 PM
Patience is definately a virtue here.

My humble opinion is that altcoins with a solid developer community are more promising than those with none.

The ZEC developers are very well paid.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: October 03, 2017, 05:21:10 PM
I think that there is investment value because there is implementation of Zcash on Ethereum.

How do you implement ZCash on the Ethereum network?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: September 17, 2017, 12:34:32 PM
i use gpu mine the zcash  and trade, hold ... invest in zcash never wrong to me . hope you invest in zcash believe zcash like me .

Any reason for the faster drop of ZEC relative to other cons?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 07, 2017, 02:57:12 PM
The coin price is dramatically low now.

= buying opportunity.

That is right. there are more application and usage of Byteball now.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 22, 2017, 05:07:12 PM
Nothing is an incentive to convert BTC to any altcoin. That's like stabbing yourself in the foot. I'd rather want an direct fiat option to buy GB.

This statement has no actual basis in fact. Yes BTC came first. Yes it's the current market leader. Yes it's the closest to being considered an actual currency.

However we're dealing in technology here. It's highly likely that many "alts" will outperform BTC from this point forward. Many smart people intend to profit in this way.

That's a tough call.
So far no altcoin has ever outperformed Bitcoin. You underestimate the network effect and BTC's first mover advantage. Bitcoin's industry and ecosystem is huge and most alts don't even have that.Bitcoin gets all the media attention, hardly any altcoin. Furthermore with the activation of SegWit lots of new implementations will push bitcoin even more forward and niche business models of many alts may become obsolete.Alts will stay here for speculation! But never as an investment.99% of traders convert their profits into fiat or BTC! This is the truth!

Do you mean the market cap when considering the outperformance? What do you think of Bitcoin Cash?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 10, 2017, 05:03:46 PM
good to know that bitcoin linked address no longer get that much of gbyte in the 9th fullmoon lol

Reducing the distribution % from 20% to 10% will not stop the dumping after distribution imo , what byteball ball needs is more applications of the byteball infrastructure to make it mainstream, then the dumper would wish they didn't

dumping will reduce drastically with the new rules

1. the major dump comes from btc holders and not from byteball holders. this is because it doesnt make any sens for byteball holders to dump the price more than the 20% coins they got. their overall portfolio is then at a loss

2. btc holders airdrop has been reduced to 10% of what that used to be.

3. expect the next dump to be around 4-5% max

4. i would expect a considerable pump in a few days (maybe close to next airdrop) when btc holders start to collect byteballs to get some meaningful amount of coins.

Indeed!
simple math:

16 Bitcoin linked you will get 0.1 Gbyte
1 Gbyte you hold will get  0.1Gbyte as well

now look at the price currently on Bittrex then make the decision yourself guys

That will give people more incentive to buy the Gbyte so the price could rise in the future.

Another Alphabay/silkroad/silkbay/alpharoad whatever it will be called, will pop up soon enough. I'm a huge long term Zcash bull and accumulating more and more slowly. Just give it a year or two or three. Same with XMR, it may take a while, but when it goes, it goes big time.

That is a good suggestion. But I think the price of ZEC cannot be more than 0.5 bitcoin.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: July 12, 2017, 08:50:06 AM
I agree with that. I think the market cap of the ZEC could be 50% of the bitcoin in the long term.

Maybe. ZEC has been on the rise over the past months. If it continues as is, it may return to its original price levels since launch. This anon coin has a unique privacy feature which may turn out to become revolutionary once mainstream businesses and darknet markets start accepting it.

While ZCash could be considered as a good investment nowadays, other Zero Knowledge based cryptocurrencies can be ideal for investing in the long term too. ZClassic, Zcoin, Kurrent, and Komodo are all great coins with promising features. This last one called Komodo, has a GUI wallet with multicurrency support, as well as strong security with Bitcoin's hashrate making it a great sustainable cryptocurrency for the long term.

Nevertheless, only time will tell if ZEC's underlying technology would be put to great use or not. Just my thoughts. Grin

The original price since launch is from 1000 bitcoin to 1 bitcoin a few days later. I think it is quite difficult to reach.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will this change the world of mining?? GTX 1080 / 1070 on: June 25, 2017, 07:42:17 PM
Hi,

I have 1080TI (http://mylifegadgets.com/GTX1080TI) doing about 915mh/s skein, about 10-12$ per day. Also i have GTX1080 (http://mylifegadgets.com/GTX1080) doing about 7-8$ per day. Both use the same 180W from wall, so i would suggest TI-s but if you get really low price for 1080 i would go with it.
What currency do you mine for 10$ a daywiyh gtx1080?

With single 1080, you cannot get $10.

You might with 1080Ti.

It is worth to invest in zcash because its price always goes up and more people are looking into investing their money in zcash to find the 100% anonymous currency. It is very good for hackers and people who want to hide their ID

Yes. Since ZEC's value has been in a constant uptrend, it would be very ideal to invest now to preserve your profits in the future. Anonymous cryptocurrencies have always been a big trend on the markets and ZCash bringing a better technology to maximize your privacy, would greatly become widely used by anyone in the future.

Right now, it is still in its footsteps since launch, so it is best to give it a few more years for it to mature and become a solid cryptocurrency. With a finite supply of 21 million coins like Bitcoin, it will tend to become scarcer each day increasing in value over the long term.

At first, ZEC didn't seem worth the investment, but now that prices have started to increase, it would be the perfect time to get some if you haven't done so already. Only time will tell if it will survive for many years to come. Just my thoughts. Grin

I agree with that. I think the market cap of the ZEC could be 50% of the bitcoin in the long term.
