Never noticed you replied, ya some screwy things have happened over the last few months. They seem to have put them back, but they are BUY in $$$ now and SELL IN BTC or what not so all screwed up.

Before they removed it and re-added it was same in same out. Only change aside from skewing that up is not you get a MARKET SLIP may happen warning, WHICH WE ALL KNEW. They claim they HAD TO TELL PEOPLE THIS and that is why they removed it.

Well actually they claimed they had to change it so that would never happen, and now since they can't do that that have a warning orders have risk button to click.

How is ECOM "Exchanges"?

I am not talking about an exchange or starting one. I am talking about RETAIL sale of goods and services over the web.
3  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How to take BTC as E-COM payment: not as dumb a question as it sounds... on: June 14, 2017, 07:38:42 PM
Going to guess there is no such application since no one answered before this got pushed to page 2 oblivion?
4  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase STOLE more than 10 BTC !!!! on: June 13, 2017, 06:57:04 PM
Hi guys! Last week I blocked my account because I was not sure about the security of the data. Now when I want to unlock it, Coinbase support answers that they simply do not have email support in my region now! And this is despite the fact that 2 months ago the support worked perfectly! They just decided to steal my money and not unlock the account! Support does not answer! Any suggestions?

When you say "answers that they simply do not have email support" do you mean you EMAILED them directly using the old "support" email and got the auto "In an effort to more quickly respond to requests, directly emailing ...is no longer enabled" message. Or did you use the support form?

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First time, where to buy ? on: June 13, 2017, 05:05:22 PM
Example:
I buy 10 coins valued 1$/u.
Will I spend 10$ to get them in my wallet ?

To answer your direct question: you will spend more than $1 to $1. At a minimum, any broker that takes credit card would charge you a small % fee to buy if for no other reason than they pay fees to do so, and then you have the blockchain fees...

Hello,

I would like to buy a few altcoins, which websites are the safest to buy from with a credit card ?
Also are there any fees ? How can I know if a website is trustworthy ?

You also asked about "buy from with a credit card": well which "altcoins"? Some altcoins are on some but not all brokers/exchanges that take credit card, but most altcoins are only on the COIN TO COIN trades where you would need to buy something they take and then TRADE it for the altcoins. This would also have a small fee to do.

So how you would get there from here really depends on which altcoins.
6  Economy / Exchanges / How to take BTC as E-COM payment: not as dumb a question as it sounds... on: June 13, 2017, 04:41:14 PM
OK, I feel dumb asking this, but I am hitting a wall finding a solution so figured I would ask.

When I google "BTC shopping chart" or what not I find the middle people services like Bitpay and a dozen other "funds deposited directly to your bank account" services. But that is not what I want.

I want to "accept BTC" and have the funds "paid to my BTC wallet". Mine, not a mandatory middleman.

Now I could just generate a "qr code" like people would scan for POS transactions, but I want to do this for a small biz website. Manual all the same codes would be a nightmare in figuring out what order/who paid, and so on.

Is there a form or something that like a shopping chart would generate an order ID and create a FOR THIS TRACTION BTC address that the customer could scan like I do in so many places when I pay with BTC, that would then end up in my master wallet I designate? And create a back-end database of X person paid here is the order info so can do what I need to from that point?

Again I am ok with BTC > BTC for the transaction, I just need the logistics of DEAD INCOMPLETE ORDER Vs PAID Vs PENDING and who is who as far as what is going on with the orders like a shopping chart would do straitened out. And for that all I am finding the BTC-Merchant Services: in theory if you do not want USD you should not need those middle people to do this.

Am I just not finding the "TAKE BTC" solution? Or is there not one? I can do this POS, but at POS I know you are you and what were are trading: I need to be able to do the same trade E-COM where I won't know you or you or what you wanted unless something tells me that.

It would also be nice if I could pick BTC BASED PRICE or USD BASED PRICE: because at times one may make more sense than the other.

Any help on letting me take BTC as payment on the site is very much appreciated.

7  Economy / Exchanges / GDAX kills stop orders? on: March 21, 2017, 05:44:08 AM
OK it is great and all that GDAX added margin trading for people will 5 million+ USD in assets, but seems they got rid of SELL STOP and BUY STOP orders to when they turned this on yesterday.

Anyone know if this is true or rumor? Some claim they are removing the ability to protect your self with STOP ORDERS provides liquidity?

Anyone else being hurt by this?

I think they are doing this to try and pull in some pro traders, but it may cause a run on the bank as people pull all their funds. Do anyone know if you can still do a stop order using the API?
8  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: November 01, 2016, 07:44:19 PM

Wagecan- needs review

Shift Payments- needs review

Spectrocoin- needs review

Can help some with "Wagecan"

First some corrections on the chart.
*Virtual: your chart says they do not, they do
*USA Availability: your chart says they do not, they do
*MasterCard/VISA: your chart says Visa, they do MasterCards
*Branded card: your chats says they do not, but they have a white label program

Now it would be accurate to say they DID. In October they suspended all loading of cards. And no longer will sell new cards. And all users with current active cards are under threat of having their cads turned off on November 7th. They say this is about regulatory compliance, and there is a law that is now gong into effect that they would soon fall under. But, they should have known that law was coming for over a year, so if that is what this is they waited until the last sec.

However, no one knows right now if they will ever issue new cards, or if the old ones will stay on. Will update on the 7th when we know.

It will be a shame if this is the end of them, because aside from the up to 2 biz days to load to the card: up until last month I had nothing but good things to say about them. And if you planed ahead the 2 days could work in your favor because they always honored your sell price and were pro active in telling you if a bank holiday would make loads take longer, or you may want to top up before one started.

So for now it is wait and see what happens.

9  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2015 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: November 12, 2015, 12:45:48 PM

I can't login to my WageCan account. Anyone else having the same problem?

Is your log in problem a loading circle pops up and tries to load then shows an "error" message?

If so try to DL the smartphone app, and see if you can log in there.

Here is the thing: they built their site poorly. It is overly dependent on THIRD PARTY sites deliver JS in a timely manor, and at least of of those sites is doing a Browser Ver test. Fail either one because of security that prevents JS from running from untrusted sources or because you are on an older browser, and you can basically do nothing with the site.

If this is the "error" you get, and you con confirm this is the cause by logging in on the mobile app: then only solution I have is to open the latest ver of CHROME or FIREFOX in privet browsing with ALL SECURITY OFF. Ya, a security bug that they make some turn ALL security off rather than lock down what the source of the false negative is. But seems to be the only work around at this point.
10  Other / Archival / Re: E-coin.io - "Service unavailable - Try again later" - how they will scam you on: November 05, 2015, 01:32:41 PM

Look I do serious business over internet and i have 2 kids, wife and dog at home.
I work hard for my bitcoins, and when my customer pays me on 1btc = $400, but i can't exchange on same rate or close to it, it hurts my finances and my family budget.
Hopefully you understand that i won't say to my customers "today bitcoin exchange rate is really bad pay me tomorrow please" , neither my bank tells me "we are closed today because exchange rate is too high".
We're talking about company and business here, if e-coin.io strives to be legit company with many customers and do well in business, they should have 24 hours support and all of their services in working order.
Otherwise they will be very close to those financial pyramidal structures from the past, where website/payment processor/whatsoever works well for 2-3 months to an year, and at certain point the owner/owners decide that they run away with customers money. Can you tell me the difference? Usually most CPA networks start with "delays" in their payment cycles and they finish when the owner run away.
So maybe after "Service unavailable - Try again later", if the exchange rate is not good enough, we may see "E-coin.io is under construction" or something similar.

What about those people who bought their bitcoins for over $1000 per bitcoin some years ago.

And what about the people who bough homes or more than they are worth? That is basically what you are complaining about. If you want a service like Bitpay.com that pays direct in cash to your bank then use a service like that. If your holding the BTC you are speculation that the BTC is better than the: EUR, or USD, or what ever. You may be right you may be wrong.

Hell what about people who bout the EUR some years ago when it was worth 25%+ more to?

Your EUR or what ever changes price by the sec to. Heck for the month the EUR has lost about 2% of its value.

Just to ask what FEES do you pay e-coin? How do you pay them to keep you up 24/7?

I would also like to ask who sold you on the idea of direct BTC payments, because I am wondering if the properly educated yo on what a BTC is or what you are actually taking as payment?
11  Other / Archival / Re: E-coin.io - "Service unavailable - Try again later" - how they will scam you on: November 05, 2015, 01:00:58 PM

Look what i'm talking that its extremely unprofessional to "block" your services when the price of btc is not on your side.
If we follow your logic, i should go to bank when $1 is 1.775 BGN (my national currency) and they should tell me "Excuse me mr. Genov we can't allow you to withdraw your funds from your account right now, because exchange rate is too high for us". Do you want to convince me that its something normal. What if i had $10k in my e-coin.io, do you think that financial lost of $2k is something normal and i should say "oh ok, their system doesn't work again, i'm screwed". Obviously we're talking here about exchange rates financial scam, my lawyer has enough experience with such "exchange rate" scam tricks. If i was aware that their system didn't work at that time, i would go and exchange on local-bitcoins or some local dealer.

Here is the thing: was the NOT AVAILABLE deliberate or an overload of the system? I saw every thing from Blockchain to many other services momentarily time out when the price surged.. it happens, as most system see the SURGE of traffic as a DNS like thing. As you point out here that delay can cost you money, but it is also atypical of peek prices as every one that never  logs in tries to to SELL, and over loads the system.

I would be careful about OK Pay after the whole EGOPAY shut down. May be off topic, but do we think any of the guys around today will still be in 20 years? I hear people WARN of the banks failing and you wont be able to get your money... But honestly those of us who have been doing BTC for 5+ years have experienced that and kept going just fine. Mtgox, Liberty Exchange, we could go on. My point on this topic is when you use these services "including debit card" is treat the funds as if they could go poof once in their control. Your contract is not for BTC, but for an IOU they back and plan to honor. Think how much you trust them to do so when it cold hurt them, and act accordingly. Some I trust very much to be the stand up people they have earned them self to be. Others not so much.
13  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2015 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: November 05, 2015, 10:48:42 AM

Sounds more like the reality that BTC transactions are not instant...
14  Other / Archival / Re: E-coin.io - "Service unavailable - Try again later" - how they will scam you on: November 05, 2015, 10:46:41 AM
I am not sure I would say SCAM

This is how using curacy exchange works. And your traction is to TRADE BTC for EUR. Most places offering this say it can take up to 48 hours to do the traction, particularly at peek times if any step is manual at all.

I have this happen all the time with an FX Broker I use BTC with. Between the time I do the transfer and receive the credit in both direction (in or out) the price of BTC changes. Some times it is against me and other times in my favor.

While you may feel scamed, you actually want it to work this way. Because if they do PRICE fix they eat the loss, or receive the gain. If they eat to many losses in the interest of customer service they go broke and fail. Where if they always give you SPOT at time of completed transaction all is sound.

As for "..already contacted one of my lawyers and his opinion is that its some weird type of financial scam." Is this "lawyer" experienced in BTC and conversion of curacy?
15  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2015 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: November 05, 2015, 10:08:11 AM
OK just to let every one know. You may want to think twice about using WageCan.

They have very very poor customer service. Here is what happened. I use "NoScript" as part of my security. So I have control over what sites can and can not run JS on my system. WageCan.com set their site to use third party sites JS to even make the login button work. So basically the site was asking me to turn part of my security OFF to even log in and try them. Using a "privet browsing" sandbox I verified that this is the problem with the site.

NO BIG: I have high system security. So I sent the contact email a request to know what sites JS must be enabled for for this error not to happen so I could white list them when using this site.

THEIR REPLY: it was not in English for one. A web translation of the reply was as follows: "Organize one third part of trivializing it other domain feeding. Other 瀏 覽 instrument safety grade very high."

Now translation are never 1:1; but, this is basically is SCREW MY SYSTEM their security is high because they say it is, how dare I ask them how to fix it, and I should turn all my security off to use them.

So basically if you ask them for any HELP: customer NO SERVICE will attack you. Reminds me very much of PAYPAL. Ya most of us use them, but do one of us trust them at all?

It sadly seems that WageCan is the same: in that we can not trust their customer service to resolve problems, even if they are the cause of them. So I would suggest you act accordingly in your dealings with them.

Ok the ubuntu instructions say to

Quote
sudo apt-get install python-pyopencl subversion
wget http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/project/bitcoin/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.3.19/bitcoin-0.3.19-linux.tar.gz
tar xvf bitcoin-0.3.19-linux.tar.gz
svn checkout http://svn.json-rpc.org/trunk/python-jsonrpc
cd python-jsonrpc/
sudo python setup.py install
cd ..
mkdir .bitcoin
echo "rpcuser=un" > .bitcoin/bitcoin.conf
echo "rpcpassword=pw" >> .bitcoin/bitcoin.conf
wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/m0mchil/poclbm/raw/master/BitcoinMiner.cl
wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/m0mchil/poclbm/raw/master/BitcoinMiner.py
wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/m0mchil/poclbm/raw/master/poclbm.py
~/bitcoin-0.3.19/bin/64/bitcoin -server&
python poclbm.py -d 0 --user un --pass pw

but I have already DL and extracted bitcoin-0.3.19-linux.tar.gz so why do Ineed to do it agin, actually did 3.20 but who is counting

I have a setup .py folder but as i said befor it is in the poclbm-mod.03.24.2011/sources/ folder

and it looks like this code it to make a .bitcoin folder I already have on in my home folder why do I want another? and as I said and asked before have no "bitcoin.conf" so do I need to create one with kwrite and if so what do i put in it?

myusername=un
mypassword=pw

or

rpcuser=myusername
rpcpassword=mypassword

the wged lines seem to be to Dl what I already have so why would I re DL what is already on my drive?

python poclbm.py -d 0 --user un --pass pw

confuses me because if I am putting in the user in pass why do I need to create the .config file. This is the user and pass for the pool account right?

when I  try to run "sudo python setup.py install"
it asks me for a password, I put in the pass for my user account. Then it says:

myusername is not in the sudoers file.  This incident will be reported.

Should I take the "sudo" off? or do I need to run this a root? I am sure I am doing something simple wrong  but no clue what?

19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Am I wasting my time mining for BitCoins? on: April 08, 2011, 05:27:11 PM
PCLinuxOS no ver number it is a rolling distro

I've never even heard of that one in all my time with Linux, but there are a lot of different distributions.

It looks like it's debian based like Ubuntu.

If you are familiar with the synaptic management tool try searching for python-pyopencl.

Here are instructions for ubuntu. http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2636.0
If PCLinuxOS is debian based, using current packages, and hasn't changed the package names, those instructions could work.

Be aware that your card is quite old. I had a GTS 250 and was only getting about 2.5 Cents a day running at 30 Mh/s. It looks like your card will get in the 20-25 Mh/s range.

Not debian it uses RPMs but it does use synaptec
