1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / USB Watchdog-Control-Linux v1.1 on: June 10, 2020, 09:02:29 PM
I wrote a program to control Watchdog in Linux, and I believe it will come in handy for anyone who mine in Linux.

In version 1.1 I added support for new types of watchdogs, v3.2 (black) and v5.0 (red):

Ljudi, postoji pitanje. Zelim cuti drugacije misljenje jer sumnje me muce.

If we finish this year with eth between 300-400$ it will be good announcement for 2021.

The day begins by checking the mining rigs and exchange offices.
For news I look at https://news.bitcoin.com, and on this forum generally I am looking  for mining  support Smiley

This can be bad extender very likely.

Jutst to report that Phoenix 5.0 works fantastic on Ubuntu 18.04.4 with Amd 20.10 drivers.  Much much batter than Claymore in Linux.

Just use Phoenix miner.

It's OS problem....
for the first GPU or your integrated video

In any variant windows will make reservation of vram on all GPUs.

GPU0 needs more reserved VRAM for Windows, so by placing an 8GB card there, you don't need to worry about this. It is not to say an 8GB card first and the rest 4GB cards will work past 23rd December 2020, it is to say it'll work until then and not stop early.

To test your theory just add in .bat file -benchmark 353. In that epoch dag size is 3.76gb and miner in Windows fail to create dag. Maybe you will need to use Claymore's  miner  because Phoenix has some bug when you start -benchmark option.

my test in Claymore with IGFX primary gpu:

epoch 353 dag 3.76gb
Windows failed , Ubuntu works

epoch 378 3.95gb
Ubuntu failed

@JaredKaragen

Thank you for your support.

@Lafu

Lets my and Jared case be good example that you don't ask for ban immediately. Just do a little more research before that.
Fortunately, everything ended well Smiley

By the way, an increase of ETH  Dag file and recent problems with Phoniex miner and 4gb GPUs ,  users will need to migrate to Linux around 1.7.2020 if they want to continue mining ETH. So, my Watchdog program will be welcome to them if they use usb wathchdogs.

Get ready to move on Linux slowly. Windows reserves 300 + MB of VRAM. The current DAG size is 3.57gb. The Phoenix miner free vram check was set to 384mb by def.  When the dag + win reservation is taken away from 4gb vram, only 130MB of vram is left (that's why Phoenix made the problem). And with the command -rvram -1 you have time up to DAG 3.7gb or ~ 1.7.2020. After that, Linux....until 21.12.2020.

Hi, how do you run a .bat file on ubuntu? it opens the text app... thats why ima asking for help

You see that statement "if you do not know much about the linux commands then just use the GUI as it is identical to windows" is not true Smiley Forget linux if you dont know nothing. You dont run bat file in linux, you run bash file. You must run it form terminal wiht command ./start.bash . You dont have Afterburner or similar programs for linux, you must do it all by yourself  through writing  scripts...
