1  Economy / Service Discussion / Hashnest redemption on: December 11, 2018, 01:43:54 PM
Hi,

can anybody tell me how the value of the package is defined when redeeming Antminers from Hashnest? I would think we would even need a bill to prove it to customs. Paying VAT and import tax for the amount paid for the new miners a long time ago would just be insane. Any experience (maybe even EU)?

Cheers,
GH

Here is new version of EthMan for tests: https://mega.nz/#!7w4hVKyQ!63zs8B8KBsCnreElYCNz5C0pCLw_5Y_jw9hIQZpWVxY
1. Fixed issue with lost connection.
2. Added "retrigger" feature and separate options for every event.

Perfect, thank you!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 20, 2017, 01:14:40 PM
Claymore 9.5 switch from 131 epoch to 4 epoch.
Claymore 9.4 don't switch. Nvidia cards.
It's okey? Or it's some bug?

I would guess it's because you are mining on nicehash, not only Ethereum. If your hashing power is direct to another buyer it is also possible that the coin which is mined changes - so another DAG has to be created and used.

Had no failing rigs - until today. Sadly I now can confirm that EthMan still did not detect that the rig was up and running again ("View miner console" worked).
I started to use your logging debug version now and will inform you as soon as I have the error "recorded".

Did you try to reproduce the lock with sending the restart command to a read-only mamangement interface like I stated before?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 14, 2017, 04:27:41 PM

Please test this version:
https://mega.nz/#!C5xiUSYY!QY44OAExh5EQ2elGcH1DvfbkQMTkgMSwOEMLoG0lUCU
Let me know if you still have the issue.

The issue remains. Rig have restarted about half an hour ago, but EthMan shows that it stays offline. Choosing "view miner console" opens page with working rig.
I have static local ip on miner, so I think, the problem is not in dns

Damn. Seems at least that this one is not the cause.

Another try: Does anybody of you guys who encounters this problem use the new features like encrypted connection and/or authentication for the management? I don't...
And can you reproduce this "lock" by sending a restart command to a read only managment rig like I wrote before?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 14, 2017, 11:35:42 AM
@claymore:
1) Maybe I found a hint: Is it possible that it is some kind of IP address caching issue? It seems to happen to rigs which reboot and get another (dynamic) IP address. If I change the "IP" field in EthMan to the current numeric IP address or use an alternative DNS name which resolves to the same computer EthMan shows correct "up" state. If I change it to the old one its shown "down" again. Restarting EthMan seems to update these values and the rig ist shown online, even with the same old name ("IP" entry). Or it is some kind of update process which is only executed when adding/changing a rig entry. But maybe this helps...
2) Did you read my comment about retriggering above and understand my issue?

Please test this version:
https://mega.nz/#!C5xiUSYY!QY44OAExh5EQ2elGcH1DvfbkQMTkgMSwOEMLoG0lUCU
Let me know if you still have the issue.

DNS caching can cause some additional delays, but in a minute the lost rig must be found anyway.
I will add retriggering in next update.

Thank you, downloaded, running and watching.

Maybe another hint: even with this EthMan version and CDM 9.5 this procedure can produce an identical looking error: Use EthMan to send a "Restart Miner" command to a "read only management port" rig. After a few seconds it will be shown offline (although the client refuses the command because management interface is in read-only mode and just keeps mining) and can not be brought back until EthMan is restarted or the "IP" field was changed like in my post above.

Claymore,
the problem with ETHMan 3.1 + Dualminer 9.5
If some rig go down, and then after some time goes up, it dosent restore in ETHMan, on screenshot you see that miner restarted and work, i launched web console and it works already 2 minutes, but ETHMan still show "lost ****". Even after 10 minutes ETHMan dosent see rig. So as it was with ETHMan 3.0, I need restart it to see all rigs stats again.

If you included cryptography and https, then maybe here some trouble with ssl? need to update certificate if connection was lost?

Can confirm this, same problem here.
The last update of EthMan improved the 100% lock after a warning, but a rig which was offline and comes back up is not (always?) shown as alive until EthMan is restarted.
Also the batch action is still not retriggered in case of a persisting failure.

I spent half a day in attempts to reproduce it, but it works fine for me, weird. If you can 100% reproduce this issue I can prepare debug version with logging and send it to you so I can get more info. PM me if you want to participate.
Retriggering: if a rig was lost, BAT file will be executed. If rig is back again and then again will be lost, BAT will be executed again. What's wrong exactly?

I can not 100% reproduce it. Just had the error again two hours ago. Rig already back online but shown as offline for 2+ hours. But it does not happen always, some additional aspect I don't see at the moment must play a role here. But of course I can try to help if you have a logging debug version for me.

Retriggering: as I already wrote - a single action may not be sufficient to bringt the rig back up. (i.e.: rig hangs - action triggered -> auto-reset rig - if windows boots into recovery mode because it is the x-th reset in a row you are ...... - the rig stays offline waiting for user input until infinity).
So: if an action did not bring the rig back up after the same delay time, it should trigger the same action again and again until the problem is resolved. (Leaving out luxury options like number of max. attempts or configurable follow up delay  Grin)

@claymore: Sir, maybe I found a bug. If I start Ethman and there is any temperature or fan speed warning, then Ethman doesn't show any info about that rig, only rig name and IP:port. (If the warning "happens" later, there is no problem.)

Also @claymore: First thanks for your work, EthMan ist going exactly the direction we need. BUT:
The above mentioned behaviour is even worse: If a rig is in a warning state (tested only with mining speed) - it will NOT detect when the rig goes completely offline and so not trigger the notificatian and external reset. This makes it quite useless in a (not so unusual) number of cases.
Another (maybe related point) is the fact that it does not retrigger the events. Say if the first restart happens and the rig is still offline (i.e. Windows booting into "repair mode") it does not perform a second reset and the rig will stay offline until manual intervention.
Could you please have a look into it? Thank you!

An RX460 4GB OC will be arriving soon, I'm betting +20MH/s on this $150 card. We'll see...

LOL, expect closer to 11mh:
http://cryptomining-blog.com/8217-mining-performance-of-gigabyte-windoforce-oc-amd-radeon-rx-460-2gb/

It has about 1/3rd of the horsepower of a RX 480 from a specs standpoint, with just 14 CUs (RX 480 is 32) and a narrow 128bit memory bus

that link says 2gb...

I should have results to post in 24-48 hours.

My HD7950 3GB is doing 20 MH/s ETH & 420 MH/s DCR so the RX460 4GB should do better if you want to break down the 7950's specs.

OK, if you get 15 you are doing extremely well. Sitting on the trigger to buy 100...  Wink

will a 600W PSU be enough for a Kaby Lake rig running 2 x RX480 (Sapphire Nitro 8GB)?

A Kaby Lake CPU has a TDP between 4.5W and 91W, so not much information in here.

But never mind, for 2x480 a 600W PSU should be a good choice. Not very high costs, proper reserves and good load point for high efficiency during normal operation.

Happy mining!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.2 (Windows/Linux) on: February 26, 2017, 08:16:21 PM
On 12.0, .1, .2 running 5x280x with virtual memory of 56.6gb I'm getting
GPU #3 is going to use too high intensity (6), not enough memory, intensity value reduced (5)
when I set just one card to -i 6 also happens with -old 1

AFAIK this behavior is related to the available amount of GPU memory which limits possible intensity levels. Main/virtual mem should not be your problem here, if I am not totally wrong. Claymore stated that the memory requirements for the newer, faster kernels are higher.

Super version!
290X 12.0=346-350 sol, 12.1 = 136-186 sol! Sad
7 x64, 16.9.1

lol, don't troll!
290x with -i 5 and 395 H/s here

BTW: v12.1 average and no borderline value - 100% stable since release
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.1 (Windows/Linux) on: February 20, 2017, 02:11:22 PM
v12.1:

- slightly improved speed for some cards, about 410H/s on stock 390X, 450H/s on stock Nano, 290H/s on stock 280X, 300H/s on stock RX480.
- slightly improved stability. If it is still unstable for you, reduce "-i" value.
- fixed issue with wrong hashrate when "-li" or "-ttli" options enabled.

Also (before the crying starts again): on two of the test rigs (Polaris 470 and Hawaii 290x) I had to reduce intensity -i by one more notch to reach full speed. But it's still faster than v12.0. 390 Hawaii don't care much about intensity, could not yet see any difference between -i 7 and -i 8. Nice!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 19, 2017, 09:25:09 PM
Woah  Shocked Between v11.1 and v12.0 i'm getting a huge hash drop. With 11.1 i'm getting ~205H on my R9 290. When I just fired up the v12.0 i'm only getting ~69-~75H. Am I missing something? I just checked 11.1 again and it's fine so it is definitely something in 12.0 :S..hmm.

Well maybe you're missing some overclocking stuff here? Have you checked the start file and the driver configuration?

I guess something is wrong with your configuration of inner features of miner, such as undervolting using miner directly. Or maybe you're over-clocking too much which is hard to handle for the newer version because of its optimization.

Nope, not overclocking or undervolting at all. Everything is stock. Lowering the intensity does help but it is still much slower than 11.x without any extra settings.

Your 11.1 config is not ok. 200h/s is really low for a 290, it should be 260-300h/s with stock bios, 350+h/s with 390x bios. 290x @ 1075mhz do 400h/s.

Have you tried using DDU to remove Radeon drivers and installing 15.12? Most problems are fixed by removing and installing drivers.  Have you checked the temperatures? Have you check the voltages?

I have lots of 290/290x working 24/7 with v11.1 and now v12.0. v12.0 does not like undervolting the GPU and some cards needed to be slowed down from 1100MHz to 1075MHz.

Yes, of course, thats right! Stock BIOS reference 290 @ 1000 MHz can at least do 320 H/s with v12. Don't remember the values for v11.1 but the difference for sure was not 60%.

I think lowering the intensity (-i) will cure your problem. Aggressive settings from v11.x do not work with every card type under v12.

We are all on "borrowed time" pretty much when it comes to mining. Our only catch at success is to sell ZEC, buy BTC and keep it and hope SEC approves the ETF and bitcoin goes to $10,000/coin.

You say that because you want to grab all the coins at a lower price because near this month zec price will go very high!

Maybe ETH or ETC, but not ZEC.

ZEC will not go very high because every month there is a large percentage of supply entering the market.

The price is at all time lows...but the market cap is at all time highs. All because of the daily supply of 7,200 ZEC coins.

So price will keep going down? Is it better to just sell. I made ~ $180 for the month of Jan and now I sit $190 for 12 days. I basically been mining to keep up with price drop.

Nop, claymore release will pump the coin. By the end of this month, zec will be in the range of 50$-75$

You really don't understand how mining works do you?

You really know all the markets react with news? good news pump, bad news dump! Are we expecting bad or good news?

For everyone using another miner than Claymore it's definitely bad news. Even for us it's not only good news. Load on cards and probably also power usage will rise and the higer hashrate will in big parts be compensated by higher difficulty.

Hi,

I have 2 GPU's (rx480) in a system.
Yesterday it just rebooted and since then I get only the GPU temperature en fanspeed of GPU0.
I do not get to see the temperature and fanspeed of GPU1

What's wrong with this setup?
How to fix it?

regards,
Eric

Sounds like CrossFire is accidentally enabled. I would check.
