Why this insane exchange rate
1728$ is actual btc rate at 9:47 am forum time
1364$ is wirex btc exchange rate
27% markup, is this not fair?
we are losing 1/3 rd of our Bitcoin withdrawal.
Can you guys please fix this today. Please do not charge from us your customers more than 5 to 10%.
They are doing this now for a month, nothing will stop them now. There is no mercy from them. Just order another debit card.

@Wirex:
Please can you implement that user can generate new BTC-adresses for every transaktion to Wirex? Its standard in the BTC-world to use new addresses for every transaktion.
Z80
Just use another wallet, with better features and lower fees (wirex charges 20%)

Exchanging GBP 90.97 from virtual card to 0.062733BTC and then same BTC amount to GBP on plastic card resulted in 81.58GBP on my (plastic) card. (BTC did not change value in those few minutes).
This is just too much.
Yes it is too much, just switch to other services, then they will low their pretend and here is their explanation https://help.wirexapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002983509-Currencies-exchange-rateat least it seems they are working on it...but in any case after 50 USD, the fee should be normal. Q. Why is my exchange rate for $10 around 20%?! A. This is because of a blockchain fee. Due to our global reach and rate of growth, our network of liquidity providers around the world usually requires instant settlement for the high volume of transactions that we do. At present, this means that many of our currency exchanges are done on the blockchain (on-chain) and therefore incur a blockchain fee. Blockchain fees depend on several factors including network congestion, transaction confirmation times (this can be affected by liquidity providers), and blockchain size (as measured in kilobytes which are affected when converting bitcoin from multiple inputs such as earned on faucets or other micro-transactions). Other exchanges are experiencing a similar challenge with blockchain fees, with some now introducing on-chain fees for all transactions, as most recently reported by Coindesk, March 15, 2017: Coinbase to Charge Fees for On-Blockchain Transactions. Exchanging small amounts makes any blockchain fee required for the transaction to be a significant percentage of the overall amount. For example: A typical blockchain fee of 0.0005 BTC at today's prices (early May 2017) is ~$1. This means that an exchange of $10 to bitcoin might incur a $1 blockchain fee, which is 10%. An exchange of $1000 might also incur the same $1 blockchain fee, which is just 0.1%. This is why we encourage customers to convert larger amounts to get the best possible exchange rate. The more you exchange, the better the rates. For example, exchanging $100 with a $1 blockchain fee is just 1% exchange rate. Q. What are you going to do about that? A. Wirex wants to support small exchange amounts for our customers in all countries where $10 transfers are popular. We are working to increase the number of liquidity providers so that we can process small exchange amounts 'off-chain' (outside of the blockchain network) and therefore not incur any blockchain fee at all for smaller exchange amounts. This update to move small exchange amounts off-chain will take some time due to 3rd party integration requirements throughout our global liquidity network. We are aiming for the end of May 2017. Users will be notified via app updates and other announcements. Bullshit, other exchanges such as xapo, spectrocoin are managing to work with low value transactions even during the period of high transaction fees.... bad bad management of the business

exchange rate depends on how much BTC you want to convert. You can notice changing the exchange rate when entering BTC value in the textbox Yes it changes, but I am trying to exchange 0.18 BTC which is not such a small amount for a card load. So I think the fee is too high anyways

Ok, now wirex partially solved the problem.
Today 26/04, 11:25 AM: coingecko 998 GBP/BTC coinbase 1001GBP/BTC wirex 991.01 GBP/BTC
0.7% of real exchange fee
Thank you, you noticed We are working hard to listen to our community. HOWEVER, if I want to exchange 0.1 BTC to GBP it uses the exchange rate of 953.23 GBP/BTC. If I exchange 0.11 BTC up to 0.5 BTC, the exchange rate is 976.71 GBP/BTC. I didn't put more than 0.5 BTC in my wirex wallet to test when (which BTC amount) the exchange rate actually reaches the 991.01 GBP/BTC.
It's a change in the logic. You can learn more about it here: https://wirexapp.com/blog/wirex-v2-1-released-today" Right now I tried to do 3 exchanges (1 through the site and 2 through the app), all failed. Furthermore, the 0.508 BTC I used to do the exchange are gone and no GBP appeared. I'm sending a message to support and I hope I don't lose 0.508 BTC. I'll post the results here.
That must be a glitch. However, you have nothing to worry about. Please give me your support ticket number and I will track the issue with the support team The fees are going down from 9% to 6% as I can see? Are you going to compensate such losses to your clients? Are "Japanese smart money" all about screwing your customers with hidden fees?

Wirex isn't a scam (well, it wasn't before -> i was all happy before on the e-coin platform), but they have a lot of problems lately.. Exchange rate is really too high, should be less for about 3-4%. I sent over some BTC last night and it shows the transaction went ok , but the BTC never arrived on my account.
Thanks for the trust. Please, give us your support ticket number so we can track the issue with the support team. Im sure they will fix this issue of vanishing BTC, because on the block explorer i can see that the amount is there. But for the exchange rate... I believe nothing will change As you know, This month We have just launched a new version of the platform: Wirexapp v2.0. And today, we launched the first revisions, Wirexapp v2.1, where most of the general issues have being addressed and corrected (including the heavily mentioned Wirex Bitcoin Rate ). Please, feel free to make your own review. We are always doing our best to keep up to date, and we are good listeners. Wow! Now Wirex hidden fee is just 1.5%. Hopefully, my issue of lost $1500 will be resolved soon as well. Be aware of their SCAM, they change the rate once you start to exchange, the actual fee is 9.1%Fees as on 2017-04-25Provider | Xapo | Wirex | CryptoPay | SpectroCoin | Uquid | AdvCash | Coinizy | You get EUR for one BTC | 1148.2026 | 1063.1 | 1140.411 | 1149.01 | 1154.17 | 1142.54 | 1103.64 | Margin | 1.84% | 9.12% | 2.51% | 1.77% | 1.33% | 2.33% | 5.65% | Loading fee | 0% | 0% | 1% | 0% | 1% | 1 | 0% | Total margin | 1.84% | 9.12% | 3.51% | 1.77% | 2.33% | 2.41% | 5.65% | Card Price and one year fees | 20 | 29 | 27 | 21 | 28.99 | 14.99 | No plastic | You get EUR for one BTC final | 1128.2026 | 1034.1 | 1102.00689 | 1128.01 | 1113.6383 | 1126.55 | Not applicable | The Bitstamp price is 1169.76 EUR for 1 BTC
