What is the exact point of not enabling the connection to the Tor network as the coin is called TOR ? I've said it a hundred times if I've said it once; the point of enabling people to download a non-Tor integrated linux version is that TOR is actually illegal in some countries (china!), so I want people in those countries to still be able to use TorCoin.
A lot of people ask me for the android wallet because they want to use the END TO END ENCRYPTED MESSAGING FEATURE built into TorCoin, which is most handy if using a wallet on one's phone. So for that reason we are working on the Android wallet. You say 6 btc is 'insanely expensive' - well, find me someone who can do it cheaper. I looked around quite a bit. It is actually pretty difficult to develop an Android wallet for a hybrid PoW/PoS coin like TorCoin. If it was just POW then the price would be 1 BTC.

We finally got one step forward to the most reasonable outcome. The founder just admitted that the Windows and MacOS wallets are not Tor-integrated YET . Thank you "TheTorcoin". Again, "TheTorcoin", can you please tell us if you plan to hire some devs in order to get these 2 remaining wallets integrated one time for all ? (supposing the Linux wallet is REALLY Tor-integrated). When talking or hearing about Torcoin, anybody expects it to be integrated to the Tor network. That f*cking makes sense .. You (We ) literally have a gold mine in our hands . Not every coin has the TOR mnemonic, not every coin has such available supply, not every coin has such potential .. The devs have been working on Android wallet for the past month - it is apparently not so easy to develop this. Most coins don't have an Android wallet, but TorCoin will. It is costing me 6 BTC (of my own funds, I'm not selling TOR for this) After Android wallet, then the top priority will be TOR integration for Windows and MacOS wallets. I'm going to leave the linux client as-is, so people can either download the TOR integrated version or the non-TOR version.

The price is already rebounding .. goes up and people sell, goes down and people buy .. just natural fluctuations.

To "TheTorcoin", as the coin starts to get a bit older than a month and regarding the number of FUDders (I noticed that "SysFailure0x5a" has done a great job at making things clear and as an IT worker too, I simply can't ignore these facts), you should seriously work at improving your project by hiring some qualified devs to get ALL of your wallets REALLY Tor-integrated. That would be a MAJOR step . Actually the one who made the wallet and started the project did dump his premine, but he is gone now. Apperantly carsen has made many shit coins in the past, so this is not something new. But new team can take over the project, and leave carsen out. Maybe he will be pissed after he sees what we can become the first thing this coins need is tor integration. without fully implementation off to this coins needs a new name. and every torcoin node need to be a tor node too. It already has full TOR integration.

It's just natural ebb and flow of crypto prices > speculators dumping and taking profits, etc.
Good buying opportunity for TorCoin > will go right back up!

Torcoin doing really well.I hope it continue doing good in future too.I was a part of signature campaign but seems it is closed now.
The sig campaign is not closed but it is selective. Too much TOR was being paid out and that hurt the price because there weren't enough investors coming from this forum, so we had more sellers than buyers. I scaled back the sig campaign but it is still active, just more selective for top posters

Note that the TorCoin price is actually UP over the past 24 hours, while the Bitcoin price has tanked 25%
Relative to BTC TorCoin is up about 10% >> 0.00040865
The USD price has dropped a bit, but that's only because the USD price of Bitcoin has crashed recently. TorCoin is actually looking super strong among cryptos right now, completely unaffected by the massive exodus of cash from the top five coins. Impressive, I would say!

New all time low today for torcoin. I warned you about this scamcoin with VALID reasons but you kept screaming "FUD" like little kids. But people here are in such a denial that they believe all kind of bullshit by dev, like the Chinese investors story (lol?) he pulled out of his ass. But dont listen to me. Keep holding those bags tight boys 😂😂😂😂
Definitely not lying about Chinese investors. For example, a significant amount of traffic is coming from Bifabu (a chinese site) and the largest volume of trading is occuring on CryptoDao, a mostly-Chinese exchange. See below >>

Still you keep FUD'ing, as far as i know no one has scammed anyone. The client might not by default connect to tor network on some platforms, but i would not call anything scam as long as the premine is not dumped. The carsen guy did dump his premine, but he is no longer affiliated with this coin. It's funny how you keep coming back, we love you too. Still waiting for the Chinese investors? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I would say the price is doing pretty well considering all the major cryptos have crashed in the last 48 hours and TorCoin is up 5% today ...

Hey guys you're stubborn like a flea in the ass. Luckily TOR has fans like you (@trap and others) who indirectly contributed actively in improving the currency — Thanks.
Any way...
I tried to import a private key for Torcoin-Qt , but when I run the "importprivkey [the key]" command on the console I get back a message telling me that the key is not valid. Any solution please.
hmm i've used this command no problem. do not use any brackets or quotes. for example importprivkey jlpodjj390fdjskl2

TorCoin up over 200% today! Price is close to $3 and rising fast! Mostly due to Chinese and Russian investors buying up the coin

The Chinese crypto investors are becoming interested in TorCoin now .. check the recent spike in trading on the CryptoDao exchange :-)

You can't cease a cryptocurrency, you can try to affect the exchanges though. Tor Project has shown no signs of trying to put down Torcoin, they merely let out a statement letting people know they're not running Torcoin and that's it.
I agree a disclaimer should be put on the front page that we're in no way associated with the Tor Project.
I don't feel it's a major concern but it should be addressed.
This issue is causing a real concern in some quarters which has landed the op some red trust and that alone is a tag here that people take seriously even me myself, I had to go check it out why the red was there to get a better understanding. I still believe a disclaimer to clear the issue raised and the red trust will bring an end to the lingering issue any time anyone visit the thread but disclaimer will allow every one get over it and move on. Exactly, I believe this should be addressed because new investments will probably not even look through the thread after seeing the tag. There is no way to address it. Anyone can leave red trust for anyone else, for whatever reason. There is no reasonable trust system on here and the mods could care less. Note that the official announcement thread for TorCoin is here >> http://torcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=3.0I won't be participating much on Bitcointalk except to post announcements to this thread.

'I agree a disclaimer should be put on the front page that we're in no way associated with the Tor Project.' There IS a disclaimer on the main page that clear states TorCoin is not affiliated with Tor Project. Also, we have a new potential logo, for example: https://TorCoin.org/newlogo.pngHowever, since Tor Project has never contacted me directly, I am not interested in changing to the new logo at this time. If they want to contact me and formally request that I change the logo, I will consider it.

I completely agree with BTCforJoe. Signature Campaigns purpose is branding, it doesn't happen in a week, after a few periods investments will start coming, well, they slowly already are. There's plenty of members just looking for investments to find them Why else would everyone run so many signature campaigns on these forums? I hardly think 1 post is really worth 0.5$ of traffic, it's not even near. But is it worth it for branding purposes? Now, that it is Also I believe giving out some TOR would be a good idea to get people involved with TOR, not too much. But the first period with 137 TOR given out is an excellent example, we didn't give out too much TOR (considering how many people were in the campaign) but we got everyone introduced with TOR and its interface, for a not so expensive price. I believe the members that received 137 TOR will definitely purchase more than 137 Sure, I agree a couple hundred TOR over the period of a couple weeks is reasonable. A couple thousand really is not.
