1  Other / New forum software / Email is Taken on: November 10, 2017, 11:47:35 AM
Does anyone else believe that the "Email is Taken" error message is bad? It gives away information that the email is signed up on the website which is NOT public information. Username is fine because everyone can see it, but email error should not say that.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] BTCP.co - Bitcoin Tools on: June 13, 2017, 05:16:42 AM
Hello All,

I am releasing a new website called BTCP.co. You may be wondering why I created something that already exists. It is because I have created a new Node.js framework and would like to test it by building websites. One of my ideas was to build a bitcoin tools website.

Current features:
  • BTC to USD
  • Verify Signed Message

I am very open to adding more features. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
3  Other / New forum software / Abuse Detected on: May 08, 2017, 04:11:31 PM
Hey,

I am trying to log into the beta forum, but it tells me to reset my password. When I do that, I get an alert saying abuse detected.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks.
4  Economy / Services / What Should I Build? on: April 29, 2017, 08:38:26 PM
Hey,

I am a programmer, and I finally got some spare time. I would like to build something open source to help boost my resume but I have no idea what to build. I was thinking about a wallet or a blockchain explorer, but those are very complex and will take too much time. There are also many wallets and explorers out there so there would be no point in making another one.

Thanks.
5  Other / Off-topic / Any Programmers Here? on: April 23, 2017, 01:41:15 AM
Hey,

I am a fellow programmer! I was wondering what languages/frameworks/libraries you prefer and why.

I currently use nodejs with hapi/koa/express.

Thanks.

13  Other / New forum software / PGP Encryption of messages on: April 26, 2015, 10:03:36 PM
Hey!

There should be an option where we can include out PGP public keys, and every private message sent to us would be encrypted with the keys.

It would be really great since everything would be secure, and the government cant really access anything.
14  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] - Cryptos.pw - Your daily Bitcoin News on: April 06, 2015, 04:07:03 AM
Hey!

I am happy to announce my next project: http://cryptos.pw!

Here is how it works:
You (or someone else), can submit a link related to Bitcoin. It can be your own website, or breaking news. EX: http://btcp.co (A bitcoin ticker application), or http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-gem-raises-1-3m-launches-multi-sig-api-worldwide/ (Bitcoin news).

People can then upvote the post if its good, remain neutral if its O.K, and downvote it if its spam.

At 5PM PST everyday, a newsletter is sent out to those who opt in. The email will contain the top five bitcoin news/sites, and the current bitcoin price.

How does this help?
You dont have to sift through all of the news, its all been curated for you!

Dont understand?
Think of it like reddit, but with a daily newsletter. Or Product Hunt for Bitcoin.

Thanks!
15  Other / New forum software / Why not use Bcrypt? on: February 24, 2015, 11:33:01 PM
Looking at this: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bHlm4NQkSzaBTT5tLIqQBmV92wSsbdOX5r-dRR9Dgg0/edit

I dont think its mentioned, but I think bcrypt should be used for passwords since its probably one of the most secure hashing algorithms.

19  Other / Meta / Why doesnt Bitcointalk just use Discourse or NodeBB? on: February 01, 2015, 08:00:27 PM
Hey!

I was just wondering why Bitcointalk doesnt use http://www.discourse.org/. Its very open, so you can make plugins that implement whatever you need.

Also it looks really good.

EDIT: What about https://nodebb.org/?
