Having taking another small hiatus from the forum, I was interested in knowing the developments on a certain topic that I had created. At first when I first clicked on the option[1] that is described in the thread title, I wasn't able to find the topic that I was looking for (It was related to the second edition of the pie baking contest). My first though was that they were deleted but I didn't received an e-mail about it so I instantly ignored that suspicion. I then decided to manually look for them and I actually found them right where they should be[2][3][4]. I instantly came here to see if this error was reported but wasn't able to find anything. I did find some patches that were applied in the recent weeks that I do not know if may have had an impact on the ability to link topics to user ID's (congrats on another good set of improvements by the way @PowerGlove). It seems that the posts that I created between July 2023 and April 2024 are not linked to my profile despite existing on the forum. Anybody else with this problem? EDIT: Come to think of it, I do have Games & Rounds on my ignore board preferences. If this is indeed the reason, wouldn't it still make sense to have the topics appear in my history considering that I was the one that created them? One thing is to want to ignore a particular board, but considering that I was the one that created the topic, I would have interest in following that particular topic of discussion.

I understand that this table (and voting counting) may cause confusion to most members. If you are interested in understanding the Single Transferable Vote methodology, please check the bottom of this post. Warning: Lengthy post...Take another look at the winners pie here:This year we have received 87 votes but considering that I had to discard 4 of them (not meeting either merit or activity requirements[1][2][3][4]), it makes a total of 83 votes! The prize pool of this year edition was of 0.0086 BTC. I kindly ask the contributors to send the following quantities (I'll transfer the amount associated with apogio): Prize Pool distribution (per winner):╔ | ══════════ | ╦ | ══════════ | ╗ | ║ | Username | ║ | Amount (BTC) | ║ | ╠ | ══════════ | ╬ | ══════════ | ╣ | ║ | RickDeckard | ║ | 0.001 | ║ | ╠ | ══════════ | ╬ | ══════════ | ╣ | ║ | PowerGlove | ║ | 0.001 | ║ | ╠ | ══════════ | ╬ | ══════════ | ╣ | ║ | UserU | ║ | 0.00033 | ║ | ╠ | ══════════ | ╬ | ══════════ | ╣ | ║ | apogio | ║ | 0.00053 | ║ |
║ | Total | ║ | 0.0086 | ║ | ╚ | ══════════ | ╩ | ══════════ | ╝ | Table interpretation: I'll have to send 0.001 BTC to GazetaBitcoin, Mame89 and Agbe. Since I hold apogio funds, I will also send them 0.00053 BTC each. @GazetaBitcoin, @Mame89 and @Agbe - Congratulations of being recognized as this year best pie makers! Kindly post your address in this thread so that the funds can be sent over to you. Ideally the amount should be sent to the winners within 1 week of this post. Special edition canvas - Bitcointalk Pie ContestAlso, as previously announced, one of the winners is also entitled to receive a special canvas made by 1Dq to celebrate this year edition! All the costs are covered (shipping) so you just need to provide an address. Per the rules: (...) Here is the main information: - Canvas size: 30x40cm/12x15in (frame not included)
- The pool of winners of this collectible will be one of the 3 users that will share the podium;
- The winner of the collectible will be chosen using bitmover Bitcointalk Giveaway Manager;
- If the winner of the giveaway declines to receive the award, then another draft will be made using the same tool for the remaining 2;
- If no winner accepts the award, then it shall be made a giveaway between all other entries to the contest;
- This process will repeat until someone accepts the collectible.
(...) The order of the list will be the same as the order of being elected winners (GazetaBitcoin, Mame89 and Agbe). The block # will be 837400. I will update this thread once the block is mined and the winner is found.EDIT: We have a winner! According to bitmover giveaway manager, Agbe is the winner! @Agbe: If you accept the prize, could you please send a PM directly to 1Dq with your address information so that he can send you the canvas? If not, please let me know so that we can run the giveaway manager again. Thank you once again to @theymos for helping promoting this contest within our community and @jayce for the great banner! Tools used for determing the winners:- (1) - OpenTally[5]
- (2) - pie.blt file
- (3) - Excel (to work with the ballots data)
What is OpenTally[5]?Per their about page[5]: OpenTally is an application for counting various preferential voting elections, with an academic focus, and emphasis on configurability. The software is free and open source[6] and the whole counting process happens within the browser and no data is sent to any kind of server. To use the software, I just needed to create a BLT file[7] of the ballot data of this contest (more on that on the next chapter). Making the pie.blt file:After transferring all the valid votes to Excel, I had to create a numbered list of each candidate: Amphenomenon 1 GazetaBitcoin 2 |MINER| 3 (...)
With that list and a combined usage of a mix of functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and CONCATENATE) I created the format that OpenTally uses to compute the results: 22 3 1 13 0 1 13 17 3 0 (...) "Amphenomenon" "GazetaBitcoin" "|MINER|" (...) "Muba20" "Agbe" "Bitcointalk Pie Contest - 2nd Edition"
Computing the result:You can do it yourself (providing that you trust that my work with the voting data is correct). If you do, then the full code of the pie.blt file is the following: 22 3 1 13 0 1 13 17 3 0 1 13 19 16 0 1 13 2 16 15 0 1 13 2 3 7 0 1 13 20 22 8 0 1 13 3 7 20 0 1 13 5 3 7 0 1 13 9 7 0 1 15 1 22 0 1 15 22 1 0 1 16 17 4 7 0 1 16 17 5 8 0 1 17 16 21 14 0 1 17 2 16 7 0 1 17 2 22 16 0 1 17 2 6 3 0 1 17 2 7 13 0 1 17 20 16 5 0 1 17 21 3 7 0 1 17 3 13 2 0 1 17 3 15 22 0 1 17 3 6 21 0 1 17 4 15 7 0 1 17 6 7 0 1 17 7 2 13 0 1 17 8 2 0 1 17 8 7 0 3 2 0 1 2 12 9 20 0 1 2 13 16 5 0 1 2 16 17 15 0 1 2 16 19 6 0 1 2 17 16 0 1 2 17 3 15 0 1 2 17 7 13 0 1 2 17 7 4 0 1 2 22 6 0 1 2 3 0 1 2 3 17 0 1 2 3 5 7 0 1 2 4 17 0 1 2 5 3 15 0 1 2 5 6 10 0 1 2 5 6 14 0 1 2 5 6 17 0 1 2 5 6 4 0 1 2 6 12 3 0 1 2 6 15 5 0 1 2 6 4 0 1 2 8 12 0 1 2 8 17 0 1 20 21 1 11 0 1 22 1 15 0 1 22 1 3 0 1 22 15 2 16 0 1 22 17 2 0 1 22 17 4 5 0 1 22 2 5 15 0 1 22 2 5 4 0 1 22 2 6 15 0 1 22 2 6 3 0 1 22 4 15 0 1 22 7 2 0 1 3 7 5 17 0 1 4 16 7 6 0 1 5 10 6 2 0 1 5 2 15 7 0 1 5 3 21 17 0 1 5 7 17 2 0 1 5 8 17 4 0 1 6 16 14 13 0 1 6 16 22 2 0 1 6 20 17 0 1 6 3 12 7 0 1 7 17 21 0 1 7 2 17 0 1 8 1 3 2 0 1 8 17 19 16 0 1 8 4 3 0 1 8 7 2 16 0 0 "Amphenomenon" "GazetaBitcoin" "|MINER|" "kuriboh" "Bd officer" "Crypto Library" "puloweh555" "8rch7" "Gaza13" "AirtelBuzz" "Nothingtodo" "@nn@_pen9" "Becassine" "Fuso.hp" "Hatchy" "Despairo" "Mame89" "Solokan" "Helena Yu" "acroman08" "Muba20" "Agbe" "Bitcointalk Pie Contest - 2nd Edition"
Simply copy the previous code to Notepad++, save as ".blt" filetype and then submit the result to OpenTally[8]. You will get the same result as the one announced here. Do not change anything in the configuration options available. How were the winners chosen? How did my preference votes contributed?As it was previously announced, the method for counting the votes was the Single Transferable Vote (STV). With this method the users are able to vote in more than one entry and whenever their first candidate is elected the remaining votes (above a quota) can be transferable to their next candidate of preference. The quota mentioned before acts as a goal - the user that gathers a number of votes equal or bigger than it, is elected a winner. In this case OpenTally uses the standard formula of the Droop quota[8] (Total Votes/K+1) where K is the amount of winners. This is equal to 20.75. You can see the whole process of the STV at the bottom of OpenTally results: - First preferences distributed. 83.00 usable votes, so the quota is 20.75. GazetaBitcoin meets the quota and is elected.
- Surplus of GazetaBitcoin distributed. Transferring 26 ballots, totalling 26.00 votes, with surplus fraction 0.20. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so AirtelBuzz, Amphenomenon, Fuso.hp, Gaza13, Helena Yu, Muba20, Nothingtodo and Solokan are excluded. Transferring 0 ballots, totalling 0.00 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so @nn@_pen9 is excluded. Transferring 1 ballot, totalling 0.20 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- Tie between acroman08 and kuriboh broken backwards. No surpluses to distribute, so acroman08 is excluded. Transferring 2 ballots, totalling 1.20 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so kuriboh is excluded. Transferring 2 ballots, totalling 1.20 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so |MINER| is excluded. Transferring 4 ballots, totalling 1.61 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so Hatchy is excluded. Transferring 2 ballots, totalling 2.00 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so puloweh555 is excluded. Transferring 3 ballots, totalling 3.00 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so Despairo is excluded. Transferring 5 ballots, totalling 3.40 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so 8rch7 is excluded. Transferring 6 ballots, totalling 4.40 votes. Mame89 meets the quota and is elected. [View detailed transfers]
- Surplus of Mame89 distributed. Transferring 28 ballots, totalling 21.62 votes, with surplus fraction 0.04. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so Crypto Library is excluded. Transferring 12 ballots, totalling 5.93 votes. [View detailed transfers]
- No surpluses to distribute, so Bd officer is excluded. Transferring 15 ballots, totalling 7.49 votes. As they cannot now be overtaken, Agbe is elected to fill the remaining vacancy. [View detailed transfers]
Understanding the process:- GazetaBitcoin is elected the first winner because there were 26 ballots were he was the first choice. Since this value is bigger than the quota (20.75) he is elected. There is currently 5.25 votes (26-20.75) that surpassed the quota and can be distributed to the next candidates.
- The users that had GazetaBitcoin as first preference had more preferences afterwards (2nd,3rd and 4th). We couldn't just transfer the 5.25 votes as we would ignore the majority of the preferences of the 26 users that voted for Gazeta. This is where the Gregory method[9] comes into play:
In 1880, J B Gregory contended that this process of random seelction could produce varying results depending on the choice of the randomly selected ballots used for making the transfers to other candidates. He suggested that all the relevant ballots should be recounted, assigned to other candidates according to the preferences of the voters, but at a reduced value called the transfer value. The transfer value is calculated by dividing the surplus votes by the total number of relevant votes. - By using Gregory method (surplus votes (5.25) / total number of relevant votes (26), we get a surplus fraction of ~ 0.201.
- We then count the users that were voted as 2nd preference in those 26 ballots and we increase their results by the corresponding amount. For example, in those 26 votes, 5 users voted for Bd officer as their 2nd preference. This means that we multiply 5 x ~0.201 which gives us 1,01 and we add that result to the previously value of 5 that Bd officer had in the first round. The user has now 6.01
- In the 3rd step, no user achieved the quota. When this happens, the user with the lowest number of votes is eliminated. In this particular case we had a lot of users that didn't had any votes as 1st preference, so they were just removed of the process.
- In the 4th step, @nn@_pen9 is the user with least number of votes (0.20). Since we are now looking for a 2nd winner, we have to look to who voted for 2nd preference for @nn@_pen9 and see who their next candidate was. In this particular case, there was only 1 vote in this scenario and since Gaza13 was removed earlier, the surplus vote ended up going for the 4th preference (acroman08). He now has 1,20 as a value.
- This process will continue until two more winners are elected.
Conclusion: I hope that with this brief explanation of how STV works, I was able to make you understand how your vote was used to select each winner. If not, please let me know and I'll try to explain any doubts that may remain.

Welcome to the second edition of the Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest! I wasn't expecting that the first edition of this contest would get any noticeable steam when I first shared this idea[1]. Thankfully I am glad to say that last year edition had a great number of entries and totally surpassed my expectations. I considered it to be a great success but it was only because of the community support and engagement. Thank you all. This year I have a new challenge: To surpass last year success. Without further due, I am glad to announce that the second edition of the Bitcointalk Pie Baking contest is now LIVE! The aim of the contest is still the same - Celebrate the famous Pie day but instead replace the Pie number with our beloved bitcoin symbol. Prize:There won't be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place this year. Per some feedback from last year, it would be great that users could vote in more than one entry. Adding to that I also believe that in such system we should aim to avoid letting votes go to waste. In an effort to strike a balance between ranking entries and making every vote count, this year the voting system will be based on the single transferable voting system[2]. You can see a practical example of the method here[3]. The amount of bitcoin gathered during the event will be distributed equally between the three most voted pies. Like last year everyone is free to contribute to the prize pool. If you want to contribute to the pot just let me know and I'll update the table below. Currently the prize pool holds the following funds: New prize (collectible) addition as of 10th of March:The great artwork posted by 1Dq gave me an idea of an additional prize - A contest inspired canvas collectible made in collaboration with 1Dq! The artwork will be kept in secret and only myself and 1Dq will know the final result. That is, until the winner receives it and (hopefully) posts it! Here is the main information: - Canvas size: 30x40cm/12x15in (frame not included)
- The pool of winners of this collectible will be one of the 3 users that will share the podium;
- The winner of the collectible will be chosen using bitmover Bitcointalk Giveaway Manager;
- If the winner of the giveaway declines to receive the award, then another draft will be made using the same tool for the remaining 2;
- If no winner accepts the award, then it shall be made a giveaway between all other entries to the contest;
- This process will repeat until someone accepts the collectible.

- Only 1 entry per user (you're free to include any number of pies on your picture);
- Competition will be held in two phases:
- 1st Phase - From 14th February (00:00 GMT) to 14th of March (23:59:59 GMT) : This is where all the users are free to submit their entries -> Live Countdown

I have been wanting to build a NAS for some time now and I've been looking for an OS that allows me to run it nicely and Unraid seems to be a good candidate (although not being open source). According to Unraid official documentation[1], Unraid is "an embedded operating system that is designed to provide you with the ultimate control over your hardware. In addition to performing the duties of a robust NAS (network-attached storage), Unraid is also capable of acting as an application server and virtual machine host." As far as hardware goes, this system will be more than enough to run a node (I'm planning on dedicating 8GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD). Since I intend to run this machine 24/7/365, I also want to run a node on it and I was wondering if anyone is already running this setup? If so, did you encounter any problems with it? Unraid has community applications[2] - apps that are developed by users to be installed in Unraid OS - and there are at least two applications whose purpose is to run a bitcoin node[3][4]. There is, however, another option - Since I can also run VM's on this OS, I can always run one with a Linux Distribution (Fedora - thanks o_e_l_e_o!) and just install Umbrel on it and proceed to run a node on it. Considering Unraid file system, and the fact that I would run the node on an Unassigned device (to avoid writing directly to the array of HDD's), I'm unsure if Umbrel would detect that disk however. Any thoughts on this idea as well? Independently of the direction that I take, I plan to update this topic with my developments when I get the server up and running (Soon™) in the hopes of helping users that may also find themselves in this situation.

Compra de bitcoins de forma anônima
|

|
|

After some failed attempts in using Powershell to make a backup of the files (I'm bad I know), I managed to get a working setup in Windows using a combination of wget and Task Scheduler. If anyone is interested in making regular backups of the files provided by @joker_josue (and isn't very tech savy) you can use the following guide for Windows (thank you TryNinja for an alternative path) and Linux (thank you @LoyceV!): WINDOWSPrerequisites: Grab wget.exe from here[1]. The code that I'll be using for creating the task can be one of these: wget --progress=bar:force -r -c -nd -A.zip -np <URL> Resuming each command: - --progress=bar:force : Displays a progress bar for each file that you will eventually download;
- -r : Recursive downloading. This option is responsible for downloading each file from the given URL;
- -c : Checks if the files already exist on the folder. If they do, they aren't downloaded again. If they exist, the download continues from where it ended;
- -nd : Prevents creating subfolders in the directory where the files are being saved;
- -A.zip : Will only look for files ending in ".zip";
- -np : Wget won't go up in the directory that is currently browsing/using;
If you'd like to have a different output folder for your files, there's a slightly variation of the code that you may use: wget --progress=bar:force -r -c -nd -A.zip -np -P <Path to folder> <URL> The new argument ( -P) will force wget to download the files to the directory that is provided by you. As for creating the task: Open Task SchedulerThis can be done by pressing the Windows Key and typing "Task Scheduler" Creating and setting up the taskClick in "Create Basic Task" in the main window that opens as soon as you complete the previous step: In the new menu that appears, name your task. I've named it "TalkImg Backup" and didn't provided an optional description (which is fine). Click "Next": In this new menu you're free to choose how often this task will trigger. Considering that the website makes weekly backups (of the previous week), I've selected "Weekly". Click "Next": I'm assuming that the backups will always be updated on a Sunday (as per last updated package). As such, select "Monday". You can also choose at which time the download occurs (for this example I've selected 08:00 (am)). When you're done setting up, click "Next": On the next menu click on "Start a program" and then "Next": On this new menu you get two important fields that need to be filled out: - Program/script: This is where you should type the path to the wget executable provided earlier[1]. As an example I've added "D:\wget.exe"
- Add arguments (optional): This will be the command line that you'll "feed" to wget shared previously[1]. Since I want the output files to be downloaded to a different directory, I've chosen the following command line:
wget --progress=bar:force -r -nd -A.zip -np -P "D:\TalkImg Backup" https://talkimg.com/tempbackups/ When you're done, press "Next". In the next menu you'll be able to review your task settings. For this example, the script will run "Weekly; At 08:00 every Monday of every week, starting 08/06/2023". If everything looks OK, just go ahead and click on "Finish": TryNinja CMD methodTo whoever prefers using the command line, you can also create the task with this command: SCHTASKS /Create /TN "TalkImg Backup" /SC WEEKLY /D MON /ST 08:00 /TR "C:\path\to\wget.exe --progress=bar:force -r -nd -A.zip -np -P \"D:\TalkImg Backup\" https://talkimg.com/tempbackups/" Just make sure to change the path to where wget.exe is located and also where to save the files (i.e D:\TalkImg Backup\). LINUXI use this on Linux in a cronjob: #!/bin/bash
cd /data/backup_talkimg sleep $(( $RANDOM % 22 ))h; sleep $(( $RANDOM % 59 ))m # Random time each day wget -q --no-parent -rcA.zip https://www.talkimg.com/tempbackups/ There's one flaw: if joker_josue would replace an old .zip by something else with the same name, it would overwrite my local file. But my local "Time Machine" backups make sure I won't lose files that way. I use a random time to spread server bandwidth. It takes only a second to run again, so it doesn't matter to use daily checks for new data. Congratulations! You've created you task and you are now acting as a backup agent for the images hosted on TalkImg. Horray! CHANGELOG- 10/06/2023: Added "-c" argument in the command.
- 11/06/2023: Added Linux guide and alternative method for Windows. Thank you both LoyceV and TryNinja!

I've been using TOR for some time now in order to access the forum. However, almost every few hours, I get the following error: Onionsite Has Disconnected Details: 0xF2 — Introduction failed, which means that the descriptor was found but the service is no longer connected to the introduction point. It is likely that the service has changed its descriptor or that it is not running. This is only specific to browsing the forum. If I open a new tab when that error appears and browse other communities/websites I'm still able to access them freely and without any problem. Usually I get this error fixed by resetting my identity in the browser but that is a bummer considering that I lose every tab open at the time. Has anyone faced this problem before?

If anyone is wondering how can an entity destroy the concept of their own products - in this case by exporting the seed phrase to outside entities, even if it is encrypted - then wait no more because Ledger will launch their new service, Ledger Recover[1]: Ledger is preparing to launch a new service called Ledger Recover that splits a wallet recovery phrase—basically, a human-readable form of the private key—into three encrypted shards and distributes them to three custodians: Ledger, crypto custody firm Coincover, and code escrow company EscrowTech. If somebody loses their recovery phrase, two of the three shards can be combined—pending an ID check—to regain access to the locked funds. Essentially, Ledger Recover is an additional safety net; for the price of $9.99 a month, it takes the jeopardy out of crypto’s version of stuffing dollars under the mattress. It’ll be available in the UK, EU, US, and Canada and come to other territories later in the year. (...) Ledger Recover is a service, he says, not a feature—one that provides all the niceties and safety mechanisms regular people are looking for. The fragments of the recovery phase are encrypted and stored by each custodian on specially secured servers, and the balance of the user’s wallet is covered up to a value of €50,000 ($55,000) if something goes awry, a little like deposit insurance at a bank. It’s also being designed with a less technical user in mind. I've tried to look upon any more news regarding this paid service, but so far I'm not able to find anything on Ledger website (release notes are currently on OS version 2.1.0). The only reference that I found was this[2] Reddit post where the concept appears in Ledger Nano X newest firmware update (2.2.1): I believe most Ledger customers will see this as a service to subscribe to since this will be seen as a "safe heaven" in order to avoid the loss of their funds, or even an alternative that holds their hand and makes them feel safe regarding their funds. Sadly they aren't aware of what is actually happening in the background, but I don't think most people will care as long as they have another option to access their funds...

Welcome to the first edition of the Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest! Voting phase has started! Cast your vote here. In order to truly celebrate the upcoming Pie Day on 3/14, a small group of users discussed that it would be fun to use the event to launch a contest within our community related with baking and posting delightful pies but with a small twist - Instead of the main star of the event being the famous Pie number, we would replace it with no other than Bitcoin itself. Prize:There will be 3 places for winners - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and the prize will be paid in BTC. The way that the prize will be handed out is fairly simple - 1st place will earn 60 % of the available pot, 2nd place wins 30 % and 3rd place wins 10 %. Additionally, icopress has brought awesome news from Betnomi - They will contribute with 1 custom wallet (Ledger Nano X) to the 1st place and thus officially sponsoring our event! Everyone is free to contribute to the prize pool and, if you do choose to do that, I kindly ask you to post here in the thread the amount and I'll update the table below. At the end of the contest I'll make the math and post which amount should be sent to whom and by which user. Currently the prize pool holds the following funds: Prize Pool:╔ | ══════════ | ╦ | ══════════ | ╗ | ║ | Username | ║ | Amount (BTC) | ║ | ╠ | ══════════ | ╬ | ══════════ | ╣ | ║ | RickDeckard | ║ | 0.0065 | ║ | ╠ | ══════════ | ╬ | ══════════ | ╣ | ║ | Daltonik | ║ | 0.003 | ║ |

). - Edit 07/03/2023: The definition of a pie, per Merriam-Webster, states:
a: a dessert consisting of a filling (as of fruit or custard) in a pastry shell or topped with pastry or both - In order to be qualified you should post a picture containing your homemade pie + a piece of paper with your username and date;

Hey there! Sometime ago (to be more precise, it will make tomorrow 2 years), I've tried to run a contest[1] within our community aimed at celebrating Pie Day (3/14)[2]. The whole theme was very similar to the pumpkin carving contest run by ChiBitCTy[3] recently but instead of focusing on carving pumpkins we would challenge the community to make delicious Bitcoin themed pies, such as this one (taken from here[4]): Sadly my contest didn't harness any interest and I ended up not having any entry for it. This year, however, I would really like to try to "push" this idea again, just in time for celebrating next month Pie Day! As for rewards, if I'm able to, I would really like to gift a Foundation Passport Batch 2[5] to the winner. If by the time of opening the contest I'm not sure that I'll be able to offer that hardware wallet, I do know that I'm able to offer a Trezor Model One[6] for sure (I would order them for the winner). What do you guys think? From my perspective I think that's always nice to have thematic events within our community, but I'm open for different opinions... If there's enough positive feedback regarding this idea, I'll open up a more structured post about it in this section of the forum and officially launch the event.

While I was browsing around Twitter I ended up finding quite exciting news[1] being shared by @SamouraiDev[2] (a developer working at Samourai): If you're wondering who's Straylight, he/she recently implemented BIP47 in Rust[3]. Also, like the developer says, this library went through many validations with Samourai Wallet Whirpool coordinators and it's safe to say that it can be used with other Bitcoin project that are also coded in Rust. Does anyone have any idea of what projects might benefit from this library that you might have been following? I've been browsing for a while but haven't find anything very informative as of now ... The fact that the project is FOSS is already great news as it brings transparency that many will see as vital for future implementations of this library ...

.Índice RemissivoIntroduçãoInstruções para WindowsConclusãoReferências .Introdução.Sobre o Portfolio PerformanceFazendo uso das palavras dos programadores contidas no site oficial[1], o Portfolio Performance é: Uma ferramenta de código aberto para calcular o desempenho global de uma carteira de investimentos - em todas as contas - usando o Retorno Ponderado Pelo Tempo ou a Taxa Interna de Retorno. .Porquê utilizá-lo?Sei no que estão a pensar - existem centenas de programas que me permitem controlar as minhas finanças. Temos programas como o do FTX[2] (antigamente chamado de "Blockfolio"), Delta.app - propriedade do eToro desde finais de 2019[4] -, CoinMarketCap Portefolio Tracker[5], Coinpeak[6] e até mesmo folhas de Excel da Google feitas por vários utilizadores[7][8] de todas as partes do mundo. Porque é que escolheria usar uma aplicação alemã que é claramente direcionada mais para produtos financeiros tradicionais? Bem, ao contrário das soluções previamente apresentadas onde não sabemos que tipo de dados é que são recolhidos - FTX, Delta.app, ConMarketCap, Microsoft Excel + Google Sheets são produtos de código fechado -, o Portfolio Performance é uma ferramenta grátis e de código aberto, podendo ser auditada por qualquer pessoa que o queira fazer. Visitem a página de GitHub[9] e comprovem por vocês mesmos! .Pontos Positivos / DeltaPontos Positivos | Delta | _______________________________________________________________________________ | ______________________________________________________________________ | - Código aberto;
- Funciona completamente offline;
- Não depende de nenhum servidor externo - Uma vez instalado irá ser possível executá-lo a qualquer altura;
- Fornece indicadores muito exaustivos como, por exemplo, Retorno Ponderado Pelo Tempo, Taxa Interna de Retorno...;
- Suporta múltiplos idiomas - (Inglês, Espanhol, Holandês, Português (BR), Italiano ...)
| - Aplicação alemã - A procura por ajuda irá levar, a maior parte das vezes, a respostas em alemão;
- Curva de aprendizagem média;
- Não existe nenhuma aplicação móvel de momento. Contudo, estão a trabalhar[10] para lançar uma no futuro;

Vamos assumir, por exemplo, que quero comprar BTC do LocalCryptos.com[12] (um intermediário financeiro que não tem processos de KYC). Teria de configurar da seguinte forma: - Conta de Referência - Podem dar-lhe qualquer nome. Para este exemplo fui para o mais simples - "Conta de Depósito";
- Conta de Títulos - Uma vez que já mencionei onde pretendo fazer as minhas transacções, vou dar-lhe o nome desse mesmo serviço - "LocalCryptos";

.Table of ContentsIntroductionWindows InstructionsConclusionReferences .Introduction.About Portfolio PerformanceTaken directly from the developers website[1], Portfolio Performance is: An open source tool to calculate the overall performance of an investment portfolio - across all accounts - using True-Time Weighted Return or Internal Rate of Return. .Why would I use it?I know what you're thinking - there are a couple of portfolio trackers out there already. We have trackers from FTX[2] (previously Blockfolio), Delta.app - owned by eToro since late 2019[4] -, CoinMarketCap Portefolio Tracker[5], Coinpeak[6] and even Google excel spreadsheets made by users[7][8] from all over the world. Why would you even think in using a German app that's more geared towards traditional investing anyway? Well, unlike the previous options where we don't know what kind of information they are harvesting from us - FTX, Delta.app,CoinMarketCap, Microsoft Excel + Google Sheets are closed source - , Portfolio Performance is a free and open source tool that can be freely audited by anyone who wants to do it. Just go over their GitHub[9] to check it out! .Plus / DeltaPlus | Delta | _______________________________________________________________________________ | ______________________________________________________________________ | - Open source;

.Windows Instructions.Installing the softwareThis part is the easiest one - just open the website (English version mentioned here[1]) and click on the OS that you're running. Sadly I wasn't able to find any kind of information that would allow us to verify the download, but I've kept this as an open issue. Whenever I find the keys of the developer I'll update this section to add an additional step. .Setting the correct languageBy default the program should apply the same language that your OS is running. If it doesn't and assuming it applies german language, then you'll have follow the following steps: After clicking on the button identified as #3 just restart the program for the changes to be applied. .Main Window - Creating a new fileWhenever you open the program you'll be greeted by the following window: Since we're creating a new file, which will be stored in a XML file on your computer, we'll just go ahead and select the option "Create a new file (The samples section already has some files created that are more geared towards traditional investment funds and to demonstrate the potential of the program (if you're interested you can also check them out)). The first window that will pop up is quite straightforward, you just need to select the currency that you want your portfolio to be in (in this example I'll be using EUR) and click Next. You'll be greeted to the following window: These two concepts - Securities and Reference accounts - are very embodied within the program. Here's how they work: - Reference account - See this as an account/bag where you'll deposit / withdraw your money from.
- Securities account - It's the account where you hold your assets. This account will be the one where you'll record every transaction that you made in a specific broker.
Let's assume that I want to buy BTC from LocalCryptos.com[12] (a non KYC exchange). I would have to do this: - Reference account - You can name it whatever you want. I just went with the simpliest one - "Deposit Account";
- Securities account - Since I'll be using the mentioned service, I'll just name it "LocalCryptos";
Click Add to save this entry and you'll be greeted to this screen: If you usually buy/sell on other brokers (HodlHodl, LocalCoinSwap, Bitsq) you can also add them in this step. Once you're done click Finish. .Main Menu of your portfolioWhen you finish the previous step you'll be greeted with the screenshot below which encompasses 5 sections. They are well summarized here[11] so I'll just quote it: - Securities - In this section you specify all securities that you intend to create transactions on.
- Accounts - In this section you register your transactions in your brokerage accounts (e.g. deposits, withdrawals, buy, sell, dividend).
- Reports - In this section you can see graphs about your portfolio and how it is performing according to several metrics
- Taxonomies - In this section you can see how your portfolio is allocated across asset classes. You can also specify your target asset allocation.
- General Data - In this section you can see the evolution of currency exchange rates and can also change the details of the where ETF information is fetched from.
.Funding your deposit accountTo start buying cryptocurrencies you'll need to have an available balance within your portfolio. To do that just follow these steps: - Click on deposit accounts -> Right click in your named deposit (in my case it was just "Deposit Account") -> Select "Deposit..."
 On the next screen you are able to enter the amount that you wish to spend on your cryptocurrency (let's say that you'll spend 1.000 €). You can also select which date and time you made the deposit and add a little note if you so desire. After filling all the fields just go ahead and click Save. If you head over to your Statment of Assets tab you'll see that your 1.000 € are now 100 % of your portfolio and that you are ready to trade this money for securities! .Adding Securities (BTC, ETH, XMR ...)In the beginning Portfolio Performance didn't had any kind of cryptocurrency to be added as a security. Nowadays, if you want to track the price of coins such as BTC or ETH (or any other coin within the Top 10 for example) you simply have to do the following steps: - Click on All securities -> Click on the + signal -> Select "New instrument..."
 In the search box type the coin you're looking for. In this case let's type "btc" in the search box and hit search. Lots of options will appear and you'll have to look for the one that says either "Bitcoin EUR" or "Bitcoin USD". Select the option which suits you (I'll go ahead with Bitcoin EUR) and click Apply. A new windows appears allowing you to specify some details of the security. I wouldn't change anything on this tab. However I recommend that you go over to the tab named "Historial Quotes" to select the source that feeds the quote of your security (in this case BTC). The default option is Yahoo Finance - I advise you to choose another one, such as CoinGecko. If you are also keen to use it, choose that option on that list. A couple of new fields appear: As you can see in the screenshot above, it seems like the source is broken - no quotes are displayed. What you need to input to make the "link" with CoinGecko is the coin ID which can be found here[13]. If we search for "bitcoin" on that huge list we'll see that the coin id is (as expected) bitcoin. Add that text to the previous field and you'll see that the table gets updated: Go ahead and click on OK. That's it! You've just added a security to your portfolio! You can repeat the steps for additional cryptocurrencies. .Adding transactionsNow that you've got your deposit account funded and that you've added the security that you're interested in, it's time to start registering your transactions. To do that just follow these steps: - Click on Securities accounts -> Right click in your named security account (since I would be making purchases on LocalCryptos, I named it the same) -> Select "Buy..."
 This next windows is pretty straightforward - you just have to input all the information regarding your purchase(s). If you added more than one security in the previous step you can select which one you'll be buying in the Security field. To demonstrate the reporting tools that the program offers I'll make a dummy purchase of 6 BTC on 01/01/2015 at 100 € each. When you're done editing the fields just click Save. Here's my window: In your Statment of Assets you'll now see that your portfolio balance has been adjusted to your recent purchase: If you head over to the Performance option within Reports you'll be treated with the following dashboard: Bear in mind that these KPI's are only reporting 1 year. If you intend to increase the range, say to 3 years, just click on the top right option (near the gear) and select 3 years. In my case I would have been greeted with this: The table on the right also gives valuable information - If I were to sold my BTC as of today, I would be looking at 208,077.72 € of capital gains. With more and more transactions being made this table for sure is handy to let you know if you are in the green or red area. .Extra section I - Q: "But I can't find my "insert random coin name here"! Can I still use the program?"Yes you can young padawan you'll just need to follow a couple of extra steps. Follow the section Adding Securities (BTC, ETH, XMR ...) up until the part where you click on the + signal. Instead of choosing New Instrument... go ahead and click on "Add instruments". On the next menu you can just name your cryptocurrency (let's use Railgun as an example) and go straight to the Historical Quotes tab. On there click on the provider and choose JSON. To get the historical quotes of this coin you'll need both the information from this[13] source - coin id (previously mentioned and explained) - and this base link: You have to adapt the previously link to the coin, currency and days that you want. In this case I'll use the following data: - id- railgun
- currency (XYZ) - eur
- days (XY) - 365
Now we just have to fill the following fields within this window: Feed URL: https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3/coins/railgun/market_chart?vs_currency=eur&days=365 Path to Date: $.prices[*][0] Path to Close: $.prices[*][1]
When you're done just click OK and you're set! Your "next soon to explode" coin is now added in your securities account. Go grab the seat on that rocket! .Extra section II - Q: "I've got thousands of transactions on my exchange, do I have to manually insert each one of them?"No. The program is prepared to import a CSV file with your transactions (assuming your broker provides you with one). I thought of adding a guide for this, but then I found out this[14] neat blog entry that explains it quite well & simple - I would end up creating the same steps. Follow it and you'll be ready to import your transactions into the desired security account. If you have any problem just post and I'll help you out. .ConclusionThat's about it! You are now ready to add any cryptocurrency that you wish - as long as it's being tracked by CoinGecko - and you are also able to import all your transactions from your broker accounts. I reckon it's not the most intuitive program out there, but being able to know that no company is selling your data + it's being kept for your eyes only, has to count for something right? Regarding selling your securities, I didn't cover that part because the steps are mostly the same as when you're registering your buying orders. If you do think that I should add just let me know! Disclaimer: Partial sections of my thread were based from this[11] guide. Since it ends up covering content more geared towards traditional investments (ETF's, bonds...) I decided to focus my guide on what you'll need to track just your crypto portfolio. Feel free to refer to it whenever you're curious about other functionalities of it. .References[1] https://www.portfolio-performance.info/en/[2] https://blockfolio.com/[3] https://delta.app/en[4] https://techcrunch.com/2019/11/06/investment-platform-etoro-acquires-crypto-portfolio-tracker-app-delta/[5] https://coinmarketcap.com/portfolio-tracker/[6] https://coinpeak.io/[7] https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/n5tvpv/due_to_a_high_number_of_requests_ive_updated_my/[8] https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7m3nvy/ive_created_an_excel_crypto_portfolio_tracker/[9] https://github.com/buchen/portfolio[10] https://forum.portfolio-performance.info/t/zur-entwicklung-der-mobilen-app-android-apple-beitragen/13303[11] https://indexfundinvestor.eu/2019/06/27/how-to-track-your-investments-with-portfolio-performance/[12] https://localcryptos.com/[13] https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3/coins/list[14] https://www.publish0x.com/bitcoin-trading-experiments/tracking-crypto-trades-how-to-import-in-portfolio-performanc-xzydnpd

Cruzei-me com esta informação no Reddit, seguida de uma procura rapida no Google, o que me permitiu encontrar também a notícia já no Coindesk[4]: The Central Bank of Portugal (Banco de Portugal) has licensed two cryptocurrency exchanges for the first time.
In an official statement, the entity announced that it recognized Criptoloja and Mind The Coin as “virtual asset service providers.” This is the first time exchanges have been licensed to operate since a new law around crypto trading platforms took effect earlier this year.

While browsing trought the cryptocurrency section at Revolut FAQ I found this very interesting piece of information[1]: How do I send crypto to an external address?
Crypto withdrawals are currently only available to Metal customers in the UK. If you are a UK customer and would like to withdraw cryptocurrency, please upgrade your plan.
To send crypto out of Revolut, head to the 'Crypto' section of the 'Wealth' tab or BTC section and tap 'Withdraw'. Carefully read the Terms and Conditions.
Add a personal BTC address using the QR code or manually inserting the information and confirm by entering the 6-digit code you will receive in an SMS on your phone.
Once you successfully added an address, select the one you want to withdraw to, include the BTC amount to withdraw, and carefully read the terms.
The transaction will be in a 'pending' state and you will receive a confirmation once that has been completed.
At the moment you can only withdraw BTC from Revolut. However, you can easily exchange your other cryptocurrencies into BTC on the Revolut app.
Perhaps this has been going on for a while now, but I only now noticed it. Do we have any UK members that could confirm this? Whatever the results, I believe this is great news! While the fees may still be higher than at other exchanges, it may help to call some more external investors to use Revolut as a means to get BTC (until now I believed that people were just speculating BTC price due to not being able to withdraw it, but it seems that it wasn't really like that all along). What do you guys think about this? For sure it will help unite the bridge of people that are more "savy" regarding the crypto world and that knew that "not your keys, not your coins" but the most likely is that those people already make their trades on exchanges made for crypto ...
