A: Asicminer-Passthroughs are not real Asicminer Shares. You buy a PT-Share from an exchange (see comparison below). The issuer owns real AM-Shares and sells you an AM-PT share. Then you get the dividend the real share gets delivered to you, because you own the PT-Share.

Q: What are Asicminer-Passthroughs-100?
A: They are PTs that are split in 100 parts. This way one real share is worth 100 of these shares. The price is lower this way and one can buy parts of a whole share.

sicher gibt es einige Avalonbesitzer in Deutschland. Ich wollte mal nachfragen wie ihr das mit dem Zoll geregelt habt. Gab es Zollaufschläge oder nur Einfuhrumsatzsteuer? Wenn ja wie hoch wurde es angesetzt, auf welcher Grundlage wurde gerechnet und welcher Umtauschkurs wurde für die Berechnung des Umtauschkurses BTC-Euro benutzt? Der vom aktuellen Datum oder vom Kauf-/Rechnungsdatum?

Ansonsten... sind alle Avalons im Zoll hängengeblieben oder sind auch einige/viele einfach so durchgekommen?

Hallo,

es scheint wie wenn Yifu es am Besten fände die Avalon Asic Chips zu erstatten da sie mittlerweile den Kaufpreis nicht mehr erwirtschaften werden. Die 100% Refund-Lösung gefällt ihm wohl am Besten. Siehe: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg3035535#msg3035535

Jetzt ist die Frage was jeder Teilnehmer im Gruppenkauf, der noch Chips bestellt hat wünscht. Erstattung oder die Chips auf jeden Fall. Deshalb diese PM/Email/Forenpost damit ich diese Daten sammeln kann und bei Bedarf, wenn Yifu ein Formular für Erstattungen postet, wir das nutzen könnten und entsprechend so viele Chips erstattet bekommen wie Käufer das wünschen. Da wir 5.6 Batches bestellt haben könnte könnte es vielleicht möglich sein dass ein Batch weiterhin bestellt bleibt um die Chips auszuliefern die gewollt sind. Eventuell wäre das sogar der Batch 1 von uns.

1. Warum ein neuer Gruppenkauf?
Leider stoppt zefir seinen Gruppenkauf Ende April. Ich war nicht in der Lage ihn zu überzeugen das Angebot für eine unbegrenzte/zumindest längere Zeit weiterlaufen zu lassen. Sein Gruppenkauf lief unter [ANN] Avalon ASIC chip distribution und ich denke, das sollte nicht sterben. Es sollte die Möglichkeit geben, Asic-Chips in kleineren Mengen zu bestellen.

2. Was ist neu?
Es gibt einige Änderungen gegenüber dem ursprünglichen Gruppenkauf. Käufer werden in der Lage sein, Chips in 1 Chip Schritten kaufen. Nicht alle Miner, die in naher Zukunft entwickelt werden, werden genau 10 Chips für ein Miner-Board benötigen.
Die Versandkosten werden niedriger sein.
Ich wohne nicht weit entfernt von burnin, so dass der Versand schnell und günstig sein wird. Und der Versand zu burnin kostet weniger, weil die Versandkosten zwischen allen Käufern, die ihre Chips an burnin (oder eine andere gemeinsame Adresse) senden wollen aufgeteilt werden wird.
Es gibt noch weitere Miner-Hersteller. Ich habe mal eine Liste gemacht mit denen die ich kenne. Bis die Chips geliefert werden sind das sicher noch einige mehr:

3. Wichtig!
Sende BTC nur von einer Adresse die du kontrollierst und mit der du eine Nachricht signieren kannst. Wenn du Bitcoins von MtGox, oder einem anderen Exchange, schickst kannst du nicht beweisen dass diese Adresse dir gehört. Wenn du Chips gekauft hast, achte bitte darauf dass deine Adresse in der Liste mit den Bestellungen, mit der korrekten Anzahl Chips, zu sehen ist. Wenn etwas falsch aussieht musst du beweisen können dass du der Besitzer der Sendeadresse bist. Es muss dir möglich sein mit deiner Sendeadresse eine Nachricht zu signieren um zu beweisen dass du die Adresse besitzt: Wie Nachrichten signieren/verifizieren?
Die Software Multibit kann keine Nachrichten signieren. Für denn Fall dass du da einen Fehler gemacht hast sollte es möglich sein deine Adressen in ein anderes Wallet zu importieren, das Nachrichten signieren kann, und dort dann die Adresse verifizieren.

5. Rückerstattungen
Bestellungen sind bindend nachdem mit den Bitcoins ein Batch bestellt wurde. Bevor das passiert, die Bitcoins also noch gesammelt werden, kannst du die Bitcoins in voller Höhe zurückverlangen.
Im Fall dass Avalon das Verkaufen von Chips einstellt werden alle gesammelten Coins, die noch nicht für eine Bestellung verwendet wurden, zurück an den Sender überwiesen.

6. Wo kommst du her?
Ich wohne in Deutschland, nicht weit von burnin entfern. Burnin ist ein Entwickler eines Miners, der aus den Avalon Asic Chips Miner bauen kann. Deine Avalon Chips könnten, wenn du das willst, von ihm in einen Miner eingebaut werden. Es gibt noch weitere Miner-Hersteller. Ich habe mal eine Liste gemacht mit denen die ich kenne. 7. Wer bist du?
Ich bin seit fast 2 Jahren ein deutsches Mitglied dieses Forums. Ich lebe unweit von burnin, einem Entwickler eines Miners. Wenn du einen Beweis für meine Identität willst kann ich dir eine Kopie meines Persos schicken. Um genau zu sein wohne ich in Braunschweig.

8. Was kann ich mit den Chips machen?
Das hängt von dir ab. Du kannst sie dir nach Hause liefern lassen um deinen eigenen Miner zu bauen. Schau dir mal den DIY-Thread an, dort wird darüber gesprochen wie das aussehen kann.
Oder du kannst die Chips an burnin schicken lassen, einen Entwickler eines Miners der mit diesen Chips arbeitet. Er ist bereit daraus einen Miner zu bauen. Sein Thread ist hier: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service
Er denkt über einen Miner mit 10 Chips für Baukosten von 80€ und einen Miner für 20Chips für 100€ nach. Die Preise sind aber noch nicht endgültig.
Natürlich kann ich die Chips auch zu jeder anderen Adresse, Miner Hersteller, deiner eigenen Adresse usw schicken.

9. Die Chip-Details von der Avalon-Homepage:

Produktbeschreibung:

    Die einzige Bezahlmethode sind Bitcoins.
    Die Chips werden mindestens bis zum Ende des Jahres 2013 verfügbar sein.
    Die Spezifikationen und verschiedene Informationen werden im Wiki verfügbar sein.
    Die Chips, die verschickt werden, sind getestet und verpackt.
    Die Lieferzeit für die Chips ist 9 bis 10 Wochen.
    Sie werden in der TSMC Fabrik hergestellt und dann verpackt und verschifft.
    Die minimale Bestellmenge sind 10000 Chips und die maximale Bestellmenge sind 200000 Chips.
    Die Chips sind identisch zu denen die Avalon nutzt und haben eine Leistung von 282Mh/s per Chip.

10. Preise
A: Es gibt einen Aufschlag von 9.9% für meine Nerven, als Risikoabsicherung. Die 10T Chips kosten insgesamt 782.1BTC, was einen Wiederverkaufspreis von 0.086BTC / chip bedeutet.

B: Wie zefir habe ich auch eine Gebühr für das Verschiffen. Zefir nimmt $20 für die Verarbeitung pro Sendung, egal wie viele Chips bestellt wurden. Ich werde nur $10 als eine Fiat-Komponente, um Kosten, inklusive Verpackungsmaterial, Bearbeitungsgebühren und, wenn nötig, Kosten für die Auslagerung des Versendens/Verpackens, falls die Zeit knapp ist, benötigen.
Dazu kommen noch die Versandkosten um die Chips an den Ort deines Wunschs zu schicken. Du kannst den Typ des Versands, und damit die Kosten, bestimmen, wenn verschiedene Methoden zur Auswahl zwischen Sicherheit und niedrigerem Preis stehen. Diese Gebühr ist nicht per Bestellung sondern per Versand. Ich denke das ist fair und sogar besser als der originale Gruppenkauf.

C: In dem Fall, dass die Sendung von Avalon vom Zoll gestoppt wird und eine Gebühr erhoben wird um es freizukaufen werden alle Käufer des Batches der festgehalten wird die benötigte Gebühr anteilig bezahlen. Keine zusätzlichen Gebühren werden dafür genommen.

D: Wenn du deine Chips zu einem Miner-Entwickler, wie burnin, schicken willst werden die Versandkosten durch alle geteilt die dorthin senden wollen. Das sollte zu sehr geringen Versandkosten führen.

E: Die fiat Gebühr wird einmalig gezahlt wenn die Chips angekommen sind. Gleichzeitig bekomme ich die Zieladresse von allen Käufern zu dem Zeitpunkt. Die Gebühr muss nicht in fiat bezahlt werden, Bitcoin ist bevorzugt. Es wird nur in fiat kalkuliert um unabhängig vom Bitcoin-Umtauschkurs zu sein.

11. Reservierung
Keine Reservierung. Wenn du bezahlt hast und mir die Details gibst, bist du dabei. Reservierungen wären unfair gegenüber den anderen Käufern. Und solange es möglich ist Chips zu bestellen wird auch immer noch ein weiterer Batch bestellt werden. Die Blockchain ist der unbestreitbare Beweis für die Zahlung.

12. Bestellvorgang
A: Eine Vorlaufzeit von 10+ Wochen in der aktuellen Lage dauert ewig. Wir können jetzt die dramatischen Kurswechselschwankungen beobachten und es könnten auch einige der konkurrierenden Asic-Hersteller erfolgreich sein und den Markt mit billigeren Lösungen überschwemmen. Deshalb, vor der Bestellung eine ordentliche Risikoanalyse machen.

B: Wenn du immer noch kaufen willst und mit dem obigen Preismodell einverstanden bist, dann musst du am Risiko teilnehmen und die Bestellung im Voraus zahlen. Wenn du die Risiken verstanden hast sollte klar werden warum ich nicht erst in 10 Wochen das Geld berechnen kann.

C: Es gibt eine einzige Bezahladresse pro Batch. Die aktuelle Adresse ist: 1Aq1Kt6LBPgXxzq86DPwoZHAM83iAKb9H3 Schicke bitte nur Bitcoins von einer Adresse mit der du eine Nachricht signieren kannst. Andererseits kann ein Streit um eine Zahlung nicht gewonnen werden. Wie Nachrichten signieren/verifizieren?.
Warum verifizieren? Falls jemand anderes behauptet eine Zahlung kommt von ihm dann muss der echte Käufer beweisen können dass die Sendeadresse ihm gehört.
Bitte stelle sicher dass du die korrekte Adresse kopiert hast bevor du auf senden klickst. Vergleiche die ersten, letzten und ein paar mittlere Zeichen um sicherzustellen dass kein Fehler passiert ist.

13. Um zu kaufen
A:

• Wähle die gewünschte Anzahl an Chips N in Schritten von 1, startend von 1 und es gibt keine maximale Anzahl an Chips die gekauft werden kann.
• Schicke die komplette Summe (C = N * 0.086) an die oben angegebene Adresse
• Poste, oder schicke eine PN, wenn du anonym bleiben möchtest, die Bestellung an mich im folgenden Format:

  <Forumname>; <N>; <C>; <Sendeadresse>

  Stell bitte sicher dass die Sendeadresse unter deiner Kontrolle steht und du mit dieser Adresse eine Nachricht signieren kannst um einen Streitfall beweisen zu können. Wie Nachrichten signieren/verifizieren?.
  Wenn dein Wallet dich die Sendeadresse nicht wählen läßt und von verschiedenen Adressen aus sendet dann poste bitte nur eine Adresse (und halte die Adresse für eine Weile)
• Signiere deinen Usernamen als Nachricht (siehe punkt 13B). Das hat aber auch Zeit bis die Chips geliefert werden. Besser ist es natürlich wenn man gleich verifiziert ist.

B: SIGNIEREN/VERIFIZIEREN

• Nimm die Sendeadresse von der aus du überwiesen hast. Falls du meinst, die Sendeadresse gehört dir nicht, ist es wahrscheinlich eine Wechseladresse gewesen, die gehört dir auf jeden Fall wenn du damit Bitcoins geschickt hast. Wenn du die Adresse nicht kennst dann geh auf die Transaktion, mit der du zum Gruppenkauf überwiesen hast, und schau dir die Details an. Dort gibt es eine Transaktions-ID. Kopiere die und gebe sie auf blockchain.info in das Formularfeld ein. Dort siehst du dann die Sendeadressen mit denen du Bitcoins geschickt hast.
• Im Wallet wähle Nachricht signieren.
• Kopiere die Sendeadresse oben in das Feld wo die Adresse reingehört.
• Gib in das Nachrichtenfeld deinen Usernamen ein. (Möglichst nur den Usernamen und nicht mehr um Fehler zu vermeiden beim verschicken und prüfen der Nachricht.)
• Klicke auf signieren.
• Die Signatur wird NICHT im Bitcoinnetzwerk (Blockchain) gespeichert und auch nicht an mich übermittelt. Die Signierung erzeugt nur Daten, die Signatur, das ist der lange String der unter der Nachricht entsteht und der mit einem = endet. Damit ich die Sendeadresse verifizieren kann muss man mir die Signatur zuschicken. Siehe nächster Punkt.
• Schreib mir eine PN und erstelle zwei Codetags. Wie das hier:

Das ist ein code-tag, der mit dem Raute-Button über
dem Textfeld beim erstellen von PN's und Post's erstellt wird.
Setze die Nachricht und die Signatur jeweils in solch einen Tag.

• Die Code-tags sind wichtig damit beim versenden der PM keine falschen Zeichen dazukommen die die Nachricht oder die Signatur verfälschen.
• In den ersten Codetag schreibst du die signierte Nachricht, also zB deinen Usernamen. WICHTIG: Groß- und Kleinschreibung ist nicht egal. Es muss ganz genau der gleiche Text verifiziert werden der auch als Nachricht signiert wurde.
• In den zweiten Codetag setze die erzeugte Signatur. Bitte aufpassen dass alles korrekt kopiert wurde, also alle Zeichen der Signatur. ZB benutze Strg+A im Signaturfeld um alle Zeichen zu markieren und dann Strg+C um alles zu kopieren.
• Gehe auf Signierte Nachrichten verifizieren per Webseite und gib deinen Usernamen, bzw deine Nachricht, und deine Signatur in die Felder ein. Um sicher zu gehen alles korrekt zu kopieren erst mit der Maus in das entsprechende Feld klicken, dann strg+A um den ganzen alten Text zu markieren und dann Strg+V drücken um alles mit dem neuen Text zu überschreiben. Klicke "Verify Message" und schau dass auch wieder die Sendeadresse herauskommt die du signiert hast.
• Hat das geklappt dann schicke die PN ab.
• Sobald bei mir beim verifizieren die richtige Sendeadresse rauskommt bist du verifiziert.
• Wer Armory nutzt bei dem ist das Ergebnis einer Signatur etwas anders. Ein Block von Daten.
  Schickt mir den einfach, ich kann den auch verifzieren.

C: Das Kauffenster öffnet sich jetzt und hat kein Enddatum im Moment.

D: Sollte mehr Nachfrage bestehen als der aktuelle Batch tragen kann, dann wandern die weiteren Bitcoins in einen weiteren Batch, der dann bei erreichen der 10T Chips bestellt wird. Alle Coins die in den nächsten Batch auf die Art gewandert sind können zurückgegeben werden wenn der Käufer nicht so lange warten will bis der nächste Batch voll ist.

14. Bestellbestätigung
Es wird keine persönliche Bestellbestätigung geben. Wenn du sichergehen willst warte auf die nächste Liste der Bestellungen und suche deine Adresse. Wenn etwas nicht stimmt informiere mich bitte. Grundsätzlich ist die Liste aber die Bestätigung.

15. Wer sollte bestellen und wer nicht?
A: Bitte beachte dass diese Chip-Bestellung für Do-It-Yourself-Leute gemacht ist oder für Leute die wissen wo sie ihre Chips in einen Miner umbauen lassen können. ZB wenn du deinen eigenen Miner bauen willst, entweder nach eigenem Design oder nach dem Referenzdesign von Avalon, dass im Mai rauskommen soll. Natürlich kannst du deine Chips auch an einen Miner-Entwickler deiner Wahl schicken lassen. (burnin, allten oder wer auch immer das kann und an einem Asic-Produkt arbeitet) Diese Entwickler werden zwar einige Chips haben um selbst Miner herzustellen aber du kannst ihnen auch deine Chips geben damit sie in einen Miner eingebaut werden.
Es gibt noch weitere Miner-Hersteller. Ich habe mal eine Liste gemacht mit denen die ich kenne. Bis die Chips geliefert werden sind das sicher noch einige mehr:

B: Du kannst entweder bestellen wenn du einen eigenen Miner bauen willst oder einen fertig-zum-minen Miner, hergestellt von anderen Entwickler/Herstellern, bauen lassen willst. Im letzteren Fall wird deine Bestellung hier dazu dienen die Chips zu sichern damit sie schneller da sind und du sicher welche hast. Wenn Sie da sind entscheidest du wohin sie geschickt werden sollen.

16. Escrow
Ich biete kein Escrow an aus 2 Gründen: Sobald die Bestellung 782.1BTC gesammelt hat werde ich einen neuen Batch bestellen. Ich weiß nicht wie lange die Chips im Angebot sind aber ich möchte gern schnell reagieren.
Der zweite Grund ist dass ich nicht sehe wie Escrow eine höhere Sicherheit in diesem Gruppenkauf bringen könnte. Ich habe in der Vergangenheit mit John als escrow gearbeitet. Nur hier macht das keinen Sinn.

17. Versand
A: Die chips werden an die Adresse geschickt an die du sie willst sobald ich sie erhalte und die fiat-Komponente bezahlt wurde.
Beispiel:

Batch 2 Order 102 3 Chips nicht versenden

Schreibt mir halt einfach so dass ich weiß welche Chips wo hin sollen. Natürlich müsst ihr für die entsprechenden Order die Sendeadresse verifiziert haben.

Ich werde den Sendungen an die Assembler jeweils eine Liste beilegen. Diese beinhaltet die Batchnummer, die Ordernummer, die Sendeadresse und die Anzahl an Chips die von dieser Order verschickt wurden.

B: Bestellungen von >= 1000 Chips werden als erstes verschickt. Alle Chips, egal wie groß die Bestellung ist, werden so schnell wie möglich verschickt und weitere Hilfe wird angeheuert damit das klappt.

18. Kommunikation
Ich lebe in Deutschland (Timezone). Ich versuche so oft und schnell wie möglich zu kommunizieren. Natürlich habe ich auch nicht immer Zeit. Deshalb bitte ich um Geduld wenn ich mal nicht da bin.

    it seem that Yifu would find it best to refund the Avalon Asic Chips because they at the moment arent worth much anymore and cant mine out the buying price as a miner. The 100% refund option is his favorite. See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg3035535#msg3035535

    Now the question is what each member in our groupbuy, who still has chips in the line is wishing. Refund or keep the chips anyway. Thats why this PM/Email/Forumpost comes into so i can collect this data and when Yifu posted his refund form we can use it and get refund for so many chips like buyers wish. Since we ordered 5.6 batches it could be that a batch remains ordered to deliver the chips that are wanted. Eventually that would maybe even batch 1.

1. Why a new Group Buy?
Unfortunately zefir stops his group buy at the end of April. I wasnt able to convince him to run the offer for an unlimited/at least longer time. His group buy ran under [ANN] Avalon ASIC chip distribution and i think this shouldnt die. Giving the opportunity to order chips in small quantities to miners with smaller BTC-Wallets too.

2. Whats new?
Ill make some changes to the original groupbuy. Buyers will be able to buy chips in 1 chip steps. Not all miner-technologies that will be developed in the near future will need exactly 10 chips for a miner board.
The shipping fee will be lower.
I live not far from burnin, so shipping will be fast and cheap. And shipping to burnin will cost less because the fee can be split among all users that send their chips to burnin.
There are some more miner-developers. I now created a list out of them i know about. Im sure until the chips arrive there will be some more developers that are able to turn chips into miners.

3. Remainder
Only send payments from an address you control (i.e. you can sign with it). If you send from MtGox or other exchanges, you risk loosing your funds since you can't prove you sent them. If you bought chips pay attention that your address is in the list that shows the payments with the correct amount of chips. If something looks wrong you need to proof that youre the owner of that address. You have to be able to sign a message with your sending address to proof that youre the owner off that address: How to sign/verify messages?.
The wallet Multibit cant sign messages. In case you did an error there it should be possible to import your addresses into a wallet that can sign messages and then sign a message with your sending address.

5. Refunds
Your orders are binding after your funds have been used to pay for a batch. Before that (while coins are piling up for the next batch), you can demand for a refund and will get it paid back in full.
In case avalon stops selling of chips all collected bitcoins will be transferred back to the sender.

6. Where you from?
Im located in germany, not far from burnin. Burnin is a developer of a Miner who will create miners out of avalon chips. Your avalon chips could be integrated in his design if you dont want to create your own miner.

10. Pricing
A: I am asking for a 9.9% surplus for my nerves (risk compensation). the 10k chips totaled to 782.1BTC, which results to a resale price of 0.086BTC / chip.

B: Like zefir i have to get a fee for shipping the chips too. Zefir takes $20 processing fee per shipping, regardless of how many chips ordered. I will need only $10 as a fiat based component to cover expenses, including package hardware for shipping, custom handling fees and, if needed cost for outsourcing if time is of essence. On top there is the shipping cost needed to ship your package to the location you want it at. You can chose the type of shipment when there is a choice to choose between security and higher price. This fee is not per order but per shipment. I think thats fair and even better than the original offer.

C: In the case that the shipment from avalon is stopped by customs and a fee has to be paid to get the chips back, all buyers of the batch pay the needed fee to free the batches according to the amount of chips a buyer owns in the batches. No additional fee is taken for this.

D: If you are willing to ship to a miner developer like burnin the shipping fee will be split through all buyers that want their chips sent to him. This should lead to a very low shipment cost.

E: The fiat fee will be paid once the chips arrive and i got your target address. It doesnt have to be paid in fiat, Bitcoin is fine too. Its only calculated in fiat to be independent from bitcoin exchange price.

11. Reservation
No reservations. If you pay and give me the details youre in. Reservations wouldnt be fair against the others. And as long as its possible to order chips there will be a new batch created everytime. The blockchain is the indisputable proof of your payment.

12. Ordering
A: A lead time of 10+ weeks in the current sentiment takes ages. We can right now observe the dramatic exchange rate fluctuations, and we might also see some of the competing ASIC manufacturers succeed and flood the market with cheaper solutions. Before you order, please do your risk analysis.

B: If you still want to buy and are fine with the above pricing model, then you will have to participate in the risk and pay your order upfront. If you understood the risk-factors you should clearly understand why I can't afford to charge you in 10 weeks.

Why verify messages? In case another person claims that your payment is his payment you have to be able to prove that the address you sent from is yours.

13. To buy
A:

• select your number of chips N in steps of 1, starting from one, with no maximum chips
• send the total amount (C = N * 0.086) to the given address
• post or PM (if you want to stay anonymous) me your order in the following format:

  ensure the sending address is under your control, so you can sign with it in case of disputes. How to sign/verify messages?.
  if your wallet application does not let you select the sending address and sends from multiple, please post only one of them (and keep the address for a while)
  
• Sign your username as message (see point 13B). Its still time to verify until the chips are delivered but its good to have it done in the meantime.

B: SIGNING/VERIFYING

• Copy the sending address from which you sent with to the group buy. If you mean that the sending address doesnt look like yours its probably a change address. D: If there is more demand than the actual batch can hold, then the additional bitcoins move to the next batch, to order an additional 10k chip, given they are in stock. The coins moved to the next batch can be refunded of course if the buyer doesnt want to wait for the next batch.

No personal confirmation will be given. If you want to check wait for the next list with orders and search your address. If somethings not right inform me. But the list is the confirmation.

15. Who should buy and who should not
A: Please note that this chip distribution is meant for DIY folks and for users that know where to let the chips be assembled into a miner. That is, if you want to build your own mining boards, either from scratch or based on the reference design Avalon announced to release in May. Of course you can let the chips be forwarded to a developer of your choice.  (burnin, allten, or whoever decides to work on a ASIC product). Even though they will have some chips to sell their miners you can give them your chips to let them implement in a miner.
There are some more miner-developers. I now created a list out of them i know about. Im sure until the chips arrive there will be some more developers that are able to turn chips into miners.

B: You can order chips either if you plan to develop your own mining board, or want to buy a ready-to-mine assembled from other developers / manufacturers. In the latter case, with your order you secure the chips from the current batch and decide where to send them for assembly when they arrive.

16. Escrow
I did not offer escrow for 2 reasons: as soon as the payments fill up to 782.1 BTC, I'll order another batch. No idea how long the chips will be in stock, but I would like to act fast.
The second reason is that i dont see how an escrow could provide higher security here. I worked with john as an escrow in the past though.

17. Shipment
A: The chips will be forwarded to your desired address as soon as I receive them and you paid the fiat component mentioned above.

i would like to register at different pools and compare them for the point what value i have from then at the end in BTC in my own wallet.

So how would you judge this? I thought running bfgminer with a list of pools and use the --rotate 10 -flag so that every pool gets 10 mins after the next is chosen.

I wouldnt need to take care of Rejected shares, efficiency and so on because i would judge it at the end. I know that some pools still pay many hours later after the time you mined, so i have to wait for all pools to settle, then pay out the btc, or keep it if its too less but deduct the withdraw fee.

That should lead to a good comparition isnt it?

How long should each pool mine to get a relatively fair comparision? It mustnt be perfect, only should show the bad and good guys. I will try pools with fee too in case they are better than the free pools. I often heard that miners earn more on those pools. Not sure why. Maybe less rejected shares?

Is this plan solid or did i miss anything?

i tried a bit litecoin mining with pooledbits.com. I found that only after 3 hours of mining a revenue started. And from that time it came in constantly. So i wonder why that is. Is it similar to p2pool where i read that you have to mine 12 hours until your income gets more because long time miners are rewarded higher or was it only bad luck? It would be strange because now often the earnings change.

Or is it a timeshift? Maybe to calculate the earnings better or so?

i see there are still offered new FPGAs. 780MH/s for a price of $1280. And i think these units need around 40W.

When i put these data into: http://dev.bitcoinx.com/profit/ it looks like it will take almost a year until the buying price is back in. With more and more asics coming out it is possible that one never ever gets the invested bitcoins back.

So am i calculating wrong or how is it? I mean one has to get the invested bitcoins back at least. Otherwise he would be better with keeping the bitcoins and see their value rise.

Am i overlooked a point?

They are big enough to not need a fee (over 0.1BTC) and only 224Bytes big. Why did electrum say that it needs a higher fee to be processed? I ended up paying the 0.0005BTC fee but i dont see why it was enforced.

i read at https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fee#Sending the rules for not having to include a fee. Now i wonder whats the sense to it. I mean 0.01BTC means you only can send $0.64 bitcoins valued in USD without having to pay a fee. And one have to pay a fee of 0.0005BTC for that. That means the smaller a transaction the more unuseable is bitcoin for it. If you would want to send someone a testsatoshi you would have to add 5000 satoshis to process that transaction. That means a big part of the digits can only be used to narrow down a big value more exact but not to send such a small amount because the fee would eat the sense of sending that much.

On top... once the demand for bitcoins is high enough the digits can be extended to 9 digits for example. But its not even possible yet to use them for small values to transfer because of the forced fee. If you dont want to pay a fee anyway the transaction will never go into blockchain it looks to me.

So it looks a bit strange to me. High transactions can go without fee but small transactions have to pay a relatively high fee. While you wouldnt notice a small fee on big transactions its the opposite for small ones. And its not even narrowed down if you only want to send one satoshi. I mean if it would be a spamprotection then one satoshi fee for sending one satoshi would prevent ddos-attacks good enough.

So why is this minimum fee so high and why the fee is handled this way? Its somehow like rich persons dont have to pay tax but the poor persons have to pay the more. Dont misunderstand me. I make big transactions too, but how the fees are constructed isnt quite logic to me.

Hello,

mtgox needs 6 confirmations until your btc are there. That means waiting a hour in average. Why doesnt mtgox change this to a lower value since more than 2 confirmations seems to bring nearly no more security.

I think its a hindrance for trading. Bitcoin is, even though its a internet currency, slow with one or 2 confirmations. But waiting 6 is even worse.

I hope that it will be considered.

i already searched for the guy from this forum that has a service to sell btc for paypal and he claimed that chargebacks wont work with him. I didnt find this post but was it TradeFortress?

I have a shop and many ask for paying with paypal but i dont want to use it anymore because paypal costs time, money and scams happen often. If i could send my customers to him so they can buy btc and pay me with them that would probably a workaround.

Any idea who that was?

I wasnt involved in pirates scam so i didnt suffer damage but i think there are many that werent that lucky. So i feel a chance is a chance and should be taken regardless how big or small it is.

So please, if you have any "relevant (non-vigilante) information" regarding this case post it so that he can check out. Whatever trace could be followed. I think, please correct me, relevant is:  used email, used phonennumbers, usernames in forums, maybe even used ips, chatlogs maybe that could reveal infos or whatever. Everything that could be a possible trace.
