161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why does the world need 205 new coins? on: January 12, 2014, 12:59:27 PM

162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I want to own a paper wallet of every alt currency containing 1 coin each on: January 10, 2014, 05:59:55 PM
THREAD CLOSED.

I WILL BUY THEM DIRECTLY FROM CRYPTSY INSTEAD. THANK YOU.

This is a fun collectible thread, I don't intend getting rich!

I want to own a paper wallet of every alternate currency as long as it has a paper wallet generator.

Every paper wallet will contain 1 coin - excepting the "bigger" ones like Bitcoin, Litecoin or Peercoin, I'm not asking for those.

I will collect only one paper wallet of each coin.

Please let me know if you want to help me collecting them. I will give you 1 DOGE or 1 EAC for any other coin.

I will print them by myself and proudly taking them with me anywhere i go.

Current list of paper wallets I own:

EARTHCOIN - 1 EAC
DOGECOIN - 1 DOGE

DIGITALCOIN - needs to be loaded
FRANKO - needs to be loaded
MEGACOIN - needs to be loaded
CATCOIN - needs to be loaded
QUARK - needs to be loaded
WORLDCOIN - needs to be loaded
FEATHERCOIN - needs to be loaded
NETCOIN - needs to be loaded
GOLDCOIN - needs to be loaded

I will update the list as soon as I have new paper wallets.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I think mining is slowly oversaturated on: January 01, 2014, 09:57:27 PM
It's ridiculous. A coin is launched, difficulty jumps to 5,000 in 10 minutes. This is getting to the point where only the big whales can mine something. Someone should make a coin accessible for the less hi-tech people. It's really no fun anymore.

I would make a coin that rigs cannot extramine.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is it possible to withdraw BTC from Cryptsy? on: December 31, 2013, 04:12:05 PM
Basic noob question. I've heard some balances are locked or cannot do it, I'd like to know a status. Thanks!

169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to mine Secondscoin [SEC] using Digitalocean Cloud VPS on: December 22, 2013, 05:27:57 PM
New coin! http://www.secondscoin.org/ cpu based!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=381587.0

Here is a short tutorial to get you started with minimum investment and zero electricity costs.

I've tested the tutorial myself...currently mining with 94 khash/s on the smallest plan.

sign up for a digitalocean account here: https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=261c189a4aeb

Deposit at least 5 (better $10) and add coupon LINUX13 or GIT10 to get $10 extra bonus

create droplet - choose Ubuntu 13.04 x64 - it is better recommended to create one with 4 or 8 cpus at least

login via ssh (use putty) with your vps login details

execute the following commands:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install build-essential libcurl4-openssl-dev

wget http://stonefoz.myfastmail.com/cpuminer-quark.zip

unzip cpuminer-quark.zip

cd cpuminer-quark

CFLAGS="-O3 -msse2" ./configure

make

apt-get install screen

screen

./minerd -a quark -t 8 -o http://sec.mine-pool.net:9372 -u <YourSECAddress> -p xxx

(where -t 4 means 4 cpus for example, choose -t 8 for 8 cpus and so on)

That's all!

when logging back again use "screen -r" to restore session

If you like the tutorial please send me some SEC ===>  BCDvcMBpyaD59K6UBfoHuRZ9oDJiPZGnGm    ===> thanks!
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / When will the next real coin be launched? on: December 22, 2013, 10:11:59 AM
When I say real I mean no premining and a client that works!
