61  Other / Politics & Society / Christmas not Xmas. on: December 22, 2021, 03:25:57 AM
It is understandable when you don't believe in Christ and simply say "Happy Holidays", but you need correction as a believer in Christ if you say "Happy Xmas" instead of "Happy Christmas".

 Generally, "X" is a letter used to make an indication that something is unknown, Christ is the reason for the season, so why do you a believer in Christ say "Happy Xmas" instead of "Happy Christmas" when you already know the reason behind the christmas celebration?
Why have you replaced "Christ" with "X"?

62  Economy / Economics / Advice for the season. on: December 20, 2021, 04:38:30 AM
Don't bend to societal pressure of over spending during this festive season, make serious plans for the celebrations and the coming year, Don't fall into the trap or bend to the pressure of selling off a percentage of your cryptos to  spend this festive season, a new year is coming. January is usually a long month that carries along a lot of expenses, make plans and preparations now for tomorrow, spend wisely today.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Career opportunities in the Metaverse. on: December 19, 2021, 12:04:27 PM
The concept of the metaverse is very exciting and will create new windows of opportunities for many who align themselves properly to get the best off this new digital Innovation.

The metaverse is a digitally developing environment where some individuals are already making investments and buying digital plots of land and properties. This development will certainly create new and flourishing opportunities for some careers. Some of these careers that i have identified are;

- Real Estate agents/developers;
 There is a need to help people buy and sell properties especially land in the metaverse since it is still it the early stages of development and there is a lot of land to be sold. I'd like to refer to them as "Meta realtors".

-Architects;
 New unique structures will begin to spring up in the metaverse as more people come in, to keep people and ensure that they keep visiting. Shops, offices or any other structure that is to be created within the metaverse will require a form of unique architecural design. A new set of opportunity for people i will love to refer to as "Meta architects".

-Artist & Graphic Designers;
There is a whole new face of opportunities for Artists & Graphic designers who will be well sort after in this new digital reality to create unique identities for private or commercial use within the metaverse.

For the purpose of information and learning, share any other career opportunity that you think the metaverse will bring.

64  Other / Beginners & Help / Will there be no more topics to write about? on: December 08, 2021, 01:27:24 AM
Judging from the fact that this forum has been in existence for a while now and will be for say the next decade, and also that there has been over a 1000 insightful topics and counting from the mass of creative writers here always creating topics on certain subjects say - "Bitcoin discussion", "trading" etc

Is the possibility of all reasonable possible topics on a subject being exhausted getting realer by the day?

Are we going to be seeing more shitty post soon?

65  Other / Beginners & Help / Recurring issues of plagiarism. on: December 05, 2021, 04:17:34 PM
Countless times, issues of plagiarism have been addressed, many forum users have gone under the hammer and punished, used as example for others to reiterate that plagiarism is not permitted. Unfortunately still, whenever i visit the meta board, i still see reports of intentional plagiarism by some forum users and i am wondering, why do people still intentionally plagiarize?

Is there possibility that newbies have never come across forum rules in the "Beginners and help" board where plagiarism is clearly stated to be prohibited? or are these other few reasons identified by me valid reasons for plagiarising.

-Pretence
That is trying to act as though you possess a sort of knowledge that you do not have, a major cause of plagiarism amongst newbies.

- Lack of creativity in writing
Newbies finding it difficult to express themselves through writing and sometimes feeling like their creative write ups or post will not be enough to provoke a reasonable conversation amongst other forum users.

- Laziness
The ease associated with copy and pasting, another lure to plagiarism.

66  Economy / Economics / Transforming skill to profit. on: December 04, 2021, 08:04:42 AM
The purpose of the discussion is for forum users who possess one form of skill or another and are making profit from it to share personal episodes of how they turned "Skill to Profit".

Most persons learning a new skill are often faced with the big question/challenge of turning their skill to profit. After acquiring a skill, truth is if there is no platform for you to practice and offer your services and also make profit, you may become less interested and efficient with the skill you learnt and it may soon be forgotten by you.

Please share personal episodes of how you, a skilled forum member has turned your skill to profit, so other forum members who are in between can benefit from your story.

67  Other / Politics & Society / Concerns on new covid variants. on: November 29, 2021, 11:40:04 AM
New concern - With the discovery of new variants of Covid from the "Delta variant" to now "Omicron" which is another deadly variant forcing countries like Japan and Israel to now impose new travel restrictions, I'm beginning to wonder if this pandemic is ever going to end. As for the persons who have been vaccinated, are they completely free from the threat of Covid and whatever new variant that will emerge, or more vaccine jabs will be needed?
68  Other / Off-topic / A measure of the degree of attachment to sport teams. on: November 21, 2021, 06:21:12 AM
My friend's football team performed so poorly that he was very disappointed to the point he uttered out loud that he was no longer a supporter of the team. The next statement was -"Chelsea! for life", (a statement that is commonly used in my locale to show that you support a team), that is he is now a supporter of Chelsea FC.

The situation doesn't seem as much, but on a second thought, the question of the attachments to the club we support came up.

How attached are you to the sport team you support? Do you have club tokens, Jerseys and all that to show that you really love a team or your support is just by mouth like my friend that you can easily just dump your team and switch to another team with just an utterance.

69  Economy / Economics / Fiat banks and the government. on: November 19, 2021, 01:24:19 AM
A recent situation in my country where the banks have been instructed to block accounts related/associated with crypto trading has prompted me to start thinking if these banks are actually happy carrying out government policies against their customers, because some of them seem not too happy about it but look to have little or no choice on the matter.

Can the banks challenge the policies from the government? Are the banks working for the people or the government? is there any possibility that banks can operate freely entirely from government policies?

70  Economy / Gambling discussion / A positive evaluation of gambling. on: November 15, 2021, 11:06:08 AM
From self evaluation and the evaluation of a few gamblers around me, i have observed that over time due to gambling activity, some characters worthy of emulation have been unconsciously developed by some.

Some of the characters that i have observed from the life of a few core gamblers around me and myself are;

-Development of Risk taking ability; to win big in life, you must be willing to try, and gamblers have so developed their risk taking ability.

-Development of the ability to quickly let go of things and move on; Dwelling on the past and the possibility of "what could have been" is really not healthy and it can weigh you down and distract you from "what can be". Though not so easy, gamblers have developed this ability to easily look ahead from the "near win" of yesterday, to try again today.

-Positive mentality (that is always believing that everyday we gamble, it may just be our lucky day for the big win).

- Consistency/ Not quiting attitude; Always trying regardless of  previous results.

If you see yourself as a gambler, i implore you to put yourself in perspective and please share any positive trait that has been developed in your life as a result of gambling.

PS: The purpose of this discussion is not in any way to encourage you to gamble more, but a pointer to show that amidst the dark clouds, there is still a silver lining.
71  Economy / Economics / Mindset game for the skilled and unskilled. on: November 12, 2021, 01:26:48 PM
We've read and practiced the mindset power game,  where if you are aligned to a frequency of thinking about something, it begins to manifest.

The discussion of skills, their importance and how many skills an individual ought to learn to stay relevant for the future has been on for some time now and this circle of thought crossed my mind.

The comparison is between the skilled and unskilled.

-if one commits themselves to learning multiple skills without plans of expanding their skilled business to a point where they are able to have people who will begin working for them, has one subconsciously and unknowingly aligned themselves to always be in a position to receive?  that is a position where they always have to hope and depend on "a giver" to come patronize them for their survival.

-for the Unskilled, who knows he will need the services of skilled labour for some special tasks, does this not mean that he has already aligned himself unknowingly to always have more money for special tasks, that is to be a source to the skilled( the giver)?

In simpler language, Is it possible that people who always want to learn this and that skill to be able to survive never really become so wealthy in life compared to those who just want to be able to have money to be able to patronise the services of people who offer them?
72  Other / Off-topic / Do spectators now know better? on: November 08, 2021, 10:40:13 AM
I understand that getting a professional knowledge in coaching introduces an individual to aspects of a sport not known by all, but oftentimes i have witnessed individuals (spectators) of a sport, due to extreme love for a sport become masters of a sport so much that it seems almost like they now know the sport better than some coaches.

Whenever a game is going on say football, you always hear such individuals question the coach's line up and tactics, you hear questions like -

-Why is he (the coach)  not playing player xyz?
-why did he (the coach) use player xyz instead of players zyx?
-why is he (that is the coach) using this formation instead the other one? and so on.

-Is there a possibility that spectators of a sport like you and i with no professional training can develop a better understanding of a sport than some professional coaches of some teams?

73  Economy / Economics / Preparing for the future. on: November 07, 2021, 06:25:30 AM
Unfortunately with the current projection of things, the pay from that job that you have spent most years in school preparing for and trying to get may soon not be able to sustain you economically in the near future. Also, that dream job/career that you are working and hoping so hard to get may soon become an obsolete profession due to the change and evolution in technology and ways of doing things.

My opinion on the way forward?
 -Upgrade your mindset and break free from the old mentality of "Finish School, Get a Job, and work yourself for a paycheck to retirement". If you have a great job, and it is what you love, I'm not against it, but for the sake of the future...you must arm yourself with knowledge and learn a high paying skill that has future prospectives if possible.

Some High Paying Skills of the Future;

-Blockchain
-Coding And Software Enhancement
-Networking Development
-Algorithms Designer
-Cloud Computing
-UI Designer
-Software Computing
-Analyst
-Public Relations
-Video Production
-Audio Production
-Sales (Ex. Affiliate, Offline)
-Digital Marketing & SEO
-Copywriting
-Content Creation
-Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking
-Machine Learning
-Financial Management
-Trading
-Foreign Languages
-Management Consulting
-Art, design, photography
-Sports/Fitness Coach/Nutritionist

If it is possible for you to have multiple high paying skills, that is good, the problem is in not having any.
74  Economy / Economics / Getting things off your list. on: November 01, 2021, 11:39:39 AM
Try out this strategy, strike things quickly out of your need/want list and be content, so they no longer become a problem and hindrance to your plans to save/invest.

If you plan to buy a house for your comfort, and it is within your means, seek out a way to get it done quickly.

If you plan to get a car, as you feel you are ripe enough for it, and there's a means to get it, don't hesitate, get it quickly off your list.

if you plan to buy a home equipment, electronics or furniture,  and it is super important to you and your comfort, buy it and get it off your list.

The longer you wait at times, the more prices increase, things are not getting cheaper, the longer you wait the more the thought of this need bugs your mind.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is BNB facing resistance at that $500 level? on: October 27, 2021, 08:35:34 AM
I'v been HODLing BNB for a while now, i've always seen BNB as a coin that has the ability to topple Ethereum but since May 10, 2021, BNB has been struggling to surpass the last ATH it set which was $686.31. Since then, it's been difficult for BNB to pass $500.

Why is BNB facing resistance at that $500 level?
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Issue of fixed Matches on: October 18, 2021, 01:48:30 PM
I was with a friend today who was in a hurry to place his bet on some numbers that were sent to him for some football matches that he believes are fixed. I'm a bit confused how fixed matches work.

Are fixed matches real? Do the coach and players of teams were matches have been fixed, do they consent to it? If you were in a team were your next fixture has been fixed, what will be your reaction?
77  Economy / Economics / Is budgeting still effective in tackling the need to constantly withdraw money? on: October 06, 2021, 02:28:55 AM
Withdrawal can become a habit. Once you develop the habit of withdrawing either fiat or converting your crypto holding to local currency for use, It almost becomes so difficult to break.

Needs and wants/problems to solve with money never stop arising, how do you handle your withdrawal? Be sincere, considering that local currency is becoming less of value as the cost of things are constantly rising now, so much that the cost price today is not the cost price tomorrow. Is a budget still effective in your opinion?
78  Economy / Economics / How has inflation affected your savings and investing? on: September 24, 2021, 04:22:00 PM
Inflation is really kicking in, the cost of things are getting really high in the market and its not even december yet, its effects are evident on the price of food stuffs, transportation, electricity bills, gas bills and others. How are you handling it and how has it affected your savings/your percentage for investing (if you have one)?

Have you had to cut down on your expenses so as to maintain the percentage of your income you allocate to savings & investing?, Or you have adjusted the percentage for savings and investing so as to accommodate and maintain your standard of living?

79  Other / Beginners & Help / Ranks of bitcoin hodlers. on: September 24, 2021, 01:49:33 PM
Up until today, I've only heard about the "whales" and "sharks" in bitcoin, i never knew that there were other ranks named after aquatic animals in bitcoin for every category of hodler.

80  Economy / Economics / Future economic fear of the rich and poor. on: September 20, 2021, 11:22:13 AM
A discussion to express your views and perspectives on the future economic fear between two class of people in the society, the rich and the poor.

-I have often heard that there's an even greater fear with getting money, who do you think has more fear about the future?

(A) The Rich man who has tasted the good things of life and enjoying the best, now he has to face the fear of the possibility of suddenly loosing all he possesses and becoming poor? Or

(B) The poor man who has not enjoyed anything in life yet, just surviving and facing the fear of an unknown future, thinking if he is ever going to be in a better position or the suffering is going to continue?
