1  Economy / Services / Fennec Internet Services: VPS Operations Closing on: July 16, 2013, 09:25:30 AM
Update: VPS Operations Closing

Sorry for messing everyone around like this. We now have issues with srv2 node and it seems like we wont be able to get this online either. Due to these unforeseen costs of operating VPS services, we will be ending these offerings and concentrating purely on dedicated servers (where we have not yet experienced a single failure).

We will be imminently closing all VPS accounts on srv0-srv3 Coventry and srv0 Zlin. You will receive a full refund for all time not paid for at these rates (all refunds will be in BTC):

€15/MO - FV512
€22/MO - FV768
€30/MO - FV1024
€40/MO - FV1536

Refunds will be calculated from 8th July 2013. The free month credited to each account on srv0 will be refunded in full.

This will represent a greater value than was paid at the time for the VPS services, but due to the fact that clients may take time to come back to us we've decided to fix our refunds in EUR. Part-months will be credited on a pro-rata basis.

I am shipping the servers back to my place at the end of the month and will salvage any data from srv0 and srv2 which has not been corrupted and offer it to the owners of those services.

All customers will be contacted by email from fennec DOT internet AT outlook DOT com. We will only provide refunds to those who can respond from their most recent contact e-mail address or prove ownership of at least one of their deposit addresses.

Dedicated server customers are not affected -- these services will continue running.
2  Economy / Services / Fennec Internet Services: Issues & Resolutions on: July 08, 2013, 07:40:45 PM
Dear Fennecers,

You may have noticed that our site is down, this is because our domain registrar renewed the domain in their own name instead of offering us a renewal (there was no auto-renew as we used LR, and no renewal reminder).

If you have any issues, please contact me via the PM system here. We are working on restoring service under a different domain name.

We are aware of issues on one of our nodes (srv0.coventry) and those should be resolved imminently.

We have granted a month of free service to every VPS customer affected by this issue, to apologize for the downtime and for your inability to contact us at this time.

Regards and apologies,
Luceo.
3  Economy / Services / Fennec Internet Services: Virtual/Dedicated Servers, Domain Names... on: February 03, 2013, 08:23:50 PM

Fennec Internet Services
High-End Dedicated Servers, Xen Virtual Servers, Domain Names & SSL Certificates

Fennec Internet Services is pleased to announce our latest price drop, due to the hurtling price of Bitcoin. You are now able to get a high quality Xen-based VPSs from Ƀ1.00/month, privacy-protected domain names from Ƀ2.00/year and Opteron-based dedicated servers from Ƀ8.00/month.

During the 7 months we have been operating, we have had greater than 99.85% uptime, handled DDOS attacks and expanded our services from VPSs into dedicated servers, SSL certificates and private domain names.

All Fennec VPS's come with the following as standard:
  • UK-based datacenter with good ping to the east coast US and all of mainland Europe.
  • Dedicated IP address (shouldn't even have to put this but some of our competitors are NOT offering this).
  • Xeon-based hardware, fully buffered RAM & RAID-1/10 hard drives.
  • Choice of Linux-based or BSD-based Operating Systems.
  • Based on your needs, not cookie cutter templates.
  • Absolutely no overselling, your resources are allocated.
  • Xen guaranteed - full kernel control. NO OpenVZ.

If you want a test IP address, test file or to make an order, please contact us via the form at the bottom of the website. We can offer services not listed (like Windows-based dedicated servers) so don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks for your support so far, and here's to the rest of the year.
4  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] (UK) Very Early BFL SC Jalapeno Order on: January 29, 2013, 02:33:34 AM
Update: Sold for $240.

Wanting to sell a Jalapeno headed to my datacenter in the UK.

The order number is between 1660 and 1680, I don't have it to hand but it was placed on 24th June and can't see any reason why it won't be batch 1.

I will give the order number to anyone who I sell to prior to receiving funds.

Looking for a best offer. It will be shipped to you from the UK data center as I don't believe BFL will change shipping details.

By purchasing, you assume any risk for BFL not shipping the product.
5  Economy / Services / Special Offer: 6 month 1GB VPS - 9 BTC (One Available Only) on: January 29, 2013, 01:33:22 AM

The first to take this offer will get a six-month VPS type FV1024 (1GB RAM, 50GB storage, 800GB transfer) for 9 BTC (usually 15 BTC).

Details: http://www.fennec.name/index.php/virtual-servers/

Set-up time will be 24 hours or less, servers are in the UK and hosted on Xeon-based servers with FB RAM and RAID-1 hard drives.

You will have a dedicated IP address.

Please reply here or PM if you're interested in this offer.
6  Economy / Goods / (UK) Selling three 1U 2x Dual-Core AMD Opteron Servers, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD on: January 26, 2013, 03:13:02 PM
I ordered a few extra servers from my supplier in order to get a bulk order discount and I've decided to see if I can sell some on here.

They're at my datacenter, which means I either have to colo them immediately or ship them back here (I don't live in the UK so that's expensive).

Each server is:
Dell PowerEdge
2x AMD Opteron 2218 Dual-Core (4 total cores, each 2.6GHz)
8GB FB DDR2 RAM
500GB SATA HDD
1U Rack Space

These don't come with rails. I'm asking 200 EUR per server (3 available) shipped anywhere in the UK, payable in BTC (at daily weighted average) or LRUSD (payable at xe.com exchange rate). If you want to colo them, you can pay 75 EUR/month in BTC or LRUSD and get rackspace, power, 5TB transfer and 5 IPs.

Sorry I can't flat-price in Bitcoin, but I have no idea what the price of BTC will be tomorrow so I'm protecting both of us with Euro pegging. If it settles down I'll be able to price in BTC.

Can't currently get pictures of them but I could rack one and let you ssh in so you know they exist if you're a serious buyer. I do also offer them on the Fennec website as a dedicated option and have done for months.
7  Economy / Services / Fennec Dedicated Servers: New Years Deals on: January 03, 2013, 02:34:06 PM

Fennec Internet Services has two FD8192 dedicated servers with this specification looking for new users:

2x Dual Core Opteron
8GB FB RAM
500GB Hard Drive
100Mbit Connection
5TB Transfer / month

These are typically 36 BTC / quarter, however we're offering a new year's deal on them.

One is available from 15th January, this is available at 30 BTC / first quarter (90 days).
One is available from 10th January, this is available at 30 BTC / first quarter (90 days).

All servers are subject to our terms of service agreement (basically: nothing illegal in the UK, no hacking, no tor exit nodes, no IRC servers).

We've been going around six months now, and have a steady client base, and these servers represent an expansion in equipment for us which is why they're being offered a little below the typical rates.

If you wish, you can rent these for up to six months at the price specified, before the prices revert to our normal offering.

If anyone's interested, mail us using the 'Contact Us' form at the bottom of our website.
8  Economy / Gambling / Charity Raffle: Let's Give The Poor a Working Chance! on: November 20, 2012, 01:49:16 PM
Charity Raffle
Opportunity International: Giving the poor a working chance

I'm sure all of you know me by now, I've run three raffles so far and over $2000 worth of products have been won via those raffles, and I also run a Bitcoin hosting company. Tenakha is a known money lender and does BTC -> GBP exchange in the UK, with a history of good feedback.

As I'm aware, a lot of you (like me) believe passionately in the ability of free people to better their lot in life via market mechanics, so we're going to be donating the profits to Opportunity International, a charity which provides a hand-up rather than a hand-out to hard-working people in some of the world's poorest countries. Opportunity International provides access to savings, small business loans, insurance and training to more than four million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world. Clients in over 20 countries use these financial services to start or expand a business, provide for their families, create jobs for their neighbors and build a safety net for the future.

A few facts about the charity:
- 1.26 million people have microloans from Opportunity.
- The average first loan is around $250.
- 84% of its beneficiaries are women, who make up 70% of those living on $2 a day or less.
- 96% of beneficiaries pay back their micro-loans, meaning that the money can be used to help somebody else.
- Most work is in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and Ghana.

As you can see, this is a real mission to allow free enterprise to lift people out of poverty in developing countries. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, give him a fishing rod and he can feed his family for life.

Because of the Aid Match programme in the UK, we have chosen to donate to the UK branch of the organization rather than the US branch. Tenakha has kindly agreed to process the donation as he is a UK taxpayer and thus eligible for the programme.

This means that for every 1 GBP we raise, the UK government will match the donation. This will be funded directly from the International Aid budget, much of which would otherwise end up in the hands of despots or countries with space programmes. The goal of this raffle is to raise 64 BTC for charity, which will be doubled to 128 BTC or around $4000 (at today's rate).

Aid Match Programme has now closed, the entire donation will be 64 BTC.

There will be 256 tickets, each of which will cost 0.5 BTC, for a total intake of 128 BTC.

To buy a ticket, PM Luceo with the subject 'Charity Raffle', the number of tickets you would like, and a BTC address for us to send any winnings to.

The prizes will be as follows:
1st: 33 BTC
2nd: 21 BTC
3rd: 10 BTC

Total Intake: 128 BTC

Total Prizes: 64 BTC
Charitable Donation: 64 BTC (x2 because of Aid Match) = 64 BTC

Determining the Winner:
- The hash of the first block generated and relayed after 0:00 UTC the day after the last ticket is sold will determine the winners.
- The final two characters of the hash of the aforementioned block will determine the first place winner, who will receive 33 BTC.
- The next two characters from the end of the hash of the aforementioned block will determine the second place winner, who will receive 21 BTC.
- The next two characters from the end of the hash of the aforementioned block will determine the third place winner, who will receive 10 BTC.

An example:
0000000000000166c6987cfd687b0777bd6800a798db1f31b3cab74528bacf43

First place winner would be ticket 43. Second place would be ticket cf. Third place would be ticket ba.

Tickets: 20 sold, 236 remaining

I will hold all funds in cold storage until the end of the raffle, I will then pay out the prizes and deposit 64 BTC to Tenakha (15ruUNKaqZrDm6v8tzgGgs41bwKRLxMJJi).
Tenakha will sell the 64 BTC at spot price in the UK and donate the proceeds to Opportunity International via Aid Match, providing a receipt of some kind.
I will not be profiting from this raffle.
Tenakha will not be profiting from this raffle.
Neither of us are affiliated in any way with Opportunity International. I have previously donated to the organization once, never to the UK branch.
If Aid Match ends before the draw, we will NOT be matching the donation, it will just be 64 BTC. - This is now the case.

EDIT: Refunds Policy
As sales are slow, I'm allowing any user to request a refund to be processed within 60 days (All my remaining Bitcoins are in cold storage as I'm short on BTC in the short term). In order to request a refund, please sign a message with the address you used to deposit Bitcoins to the raffle, or with your payout address, requesting a refund to that address. If you'd like to donate the Bitcoin to Opportunity International, or split between that and a refund, please sign a message to this effect with the address you used to deposit.
Note: If sales pick up, I reserve the right to cancel this refunds policy with a 7 day warning (i.e. you will have a 7-day window to request a refund from when I announce the cancellation).
9  Economy / Services / Fennec Internet Services Offering Discount Dedicated Servers. on: November 04, 2012, 12:32:09 PM
Fennec Internet Services is offering a limited amount of AMD Opteron-based FD8192 servers at a reduced rate of Ƀ10.00 per month:

After the huge success of our last set of offers, we’ve got another quick one for the start of november.

Normally, we offer our FD8192 servers for Ƀ36.00 per quarter, a great price when compared to some of our competitors, but we’ve decided to offer three two of these servers for a bargain price of Ƀ30.00, which is only Ƀ10.00 per month.

Our FD8192 servers are equipped with 2 AMD Opteron Dual-Core CPUs (4 total cores), 8GB RAM and a 500GB hard disk drive. They come with five IP addresses and 5TB of monthly transfer by standard.

They can come installed with any operating system of your choice (for Windows, you’ll need your own license) and will reside in our Coventry, UK datacenter which has n+1 air conditioning, n+1 generation capacity and 24/7 armed security.

Not only this, but at Fennec we don’t believe in rewarding new customers without paying tribute to our current clients, so we’re also offering any of our current FD8192 customers the opportunity to add three months to their service for Ƀ30.00 or six months for Ƀ60.00.

These new servers will be on a 2-3 working day availability instead of the usual 5-7.

If you're experienced, I need your knowledge. Can pay a small renumeration for your time.

PM me if you're interested.
11  Economy / Services / FENNEC: Virtual & dedicated servers, SSL certificates & domain registration on: September 24, 2012, 07:16:32 PM

Fennec Internet Services is a provider of virtual & dedicated server hosting, domain name registration and Comodo-signed SSL certificates. The company started in early July 2012, but is built on a knowledge base of system administration & hosting experience of over 5 years.

We've re-launched our company website this week, and to celebrate our grand reopening, we're running some promotional offers (valid for new customers and renewing existing customers) which include free uptime insurance, free SSL certificates, free domain names and free dedicated server hosting.

We do not cut corners - this is our mantra. All of our servers are Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron-based machines, with RAID data redundancy. The datacenter, based in Coventry, UK, has n+1 cooling & UPS, utilize high-end fibre lines with diverse entry points and multiple gigabits of connectivity, and is patrolled by security 24/7 with camera coverage inside & outside the facility.

Our domain names come with full anonymous domain registration. This isn't like domain privacy, where your details are simply hidden behind fake whois details and given over at the first whiff of a lawyer, neither is it fake registration details, which can lead to your domains being seized. Our domains are registered and held by a registered Malaysian company and we do not require your details at all.

Our SSL certificates are signed by Comodo, one of the biggest issuers of SSL certificates worldwide. They come with 99% browser recognition, 2,048-bit signatures and at least a $10,000 warranty by default. We offer everything from the simplest anonymous registration through to full business validated EV certificates.

We only accept cryptocurrencies, because we support the movement towards free money, and value that over convenience. You won't see Fennec Internet Services selling out and taking PayPal, VISA or Dwolla.

We don't aim to be the cheapest provider, we strive to offer the best value for money. Some competing companies will trade off anything for a lower price, whether that's shoving 10 VPS servers on a single IP, hosting on their old desktop machine on home broadband or filling in fake details on their 'anonymous' domain registration. We regard these practices to be incompatible with our way of thinking.

Virtual servers start at Ƀ1.50 per month...
Dedicated servers start at Ƀ12.00 per month...
SSL certificates start at Ƀ1.50 per year...
Domain names start at Ƀ2.50 per year...

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Battle of the Altcoins: LITECOIN vs SOLIDCOIN (bet on which will succeed) on: August 01, 2012, 03:39:03 AM
Current exchange rate is ~2 Solidcoin (Microcash) to 1 Litecoin.

BTC / SC
Bid : 0.0030
Ask : 0.0037

BTC / LTC
Bid : 0.0065
Ask : 0.0067

I've set up a bet at Bets of Bitcoin (link) where fans of either can put their money where their mouth is and show that they actually believe in their favored altcoin.

As always with Bets of Bitcoin, earlier bets are worth more than later ones, so get in now and have your say.

If you think 1 Litecoin will be worth MORE than 2 Solidcoin in 6 months, AGREE with the statement.

If you think 1 Litecoin will be worth EQUAL TO OR LESS than 2 Solidcoin in 6 months, DISAGREE with the statement.

Not sure whether to put this here or in gambling, feel free to move it mods.
14  Economy / Services / Fennec Internet Services: Open For Business (VPS, Dedicated Servers in EU) on: July 30, 2012, 12:39:45 AM
About Fennec Internet Services

Fennec Internet Services offers Xen VPS hosting in Coventry, UK and soon also in Zlin, CZ. We pride ourselves on offering only quality VPS & Dedicated Server solutions.

What can we offer?

  • Quality Server Hardware - Whilst some providers use desktop components to keep down costs, FIS offers Xeon processors, FBDIMM RAM, hard-drives with RAID redundancy, hosted in accredited datacenters with multiple gigabits of connectivity.
  • No Overselling - All Fennec Internet Services plans are backed by hardware. RAM, hard drive space & bandwidth are dedicated to your VPS and are not available to any other users.
  • Xen Technology - Xen hypervisor is fast, mature, secure and stable. We always deploy Xen XSA security patches within 24 hours of release. Performance tests have shown that Xen PV is faster than KVM, and it is used by huge companies like Amazon, Rackspace, Oracle and Citrix.
  • Full Control - You have full root access, full kernel control (this is not OpenVZ) and full choice of operating system within the parameters of Xen PV or HVM.

We only accept Bitcoin and major altcoins. We do not accept payment in any fiat currencies.

Speed Test

100MB File & IP Address available upon request by e-mail or on IRC. They will not be published here because doing so would encourage denial of service attacks which could adversely affect VPS performance.

15  Economy / Services / [3.0 BTC (5.5 BTC) BOUNTY] Logo Design Contest: Fennec Internet Services on: July 26, 2012, 11:51:46 PM
One and all,

To enter, post your designs on the RUGATU thread here: http://www.rugatu.com/questions/2327/logo-design-contest-fennec-internet-services - By using RUGATU, we guarantee that at least 3.0 BTC *will* be paid to somebody on or before 11th August 2012.

Fennec Internet Services is a new start-up which will be offering the following services for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin and Solidcoin:

  • Xen PV VPS with Linux OS's (others upon request)
  • Dedicated Servers
  • Domain Registration INCLUDING .bit Domains

I've come here to seek the best logo the Bitcoin community can offer, and I'm starting the offering at 5.5 BTC*. If there are some great designs, we may tip individuals to encourage refinement or add to the bounty.

There is no guarantee that the winner's logo will be used, but the winner will get 3.0 BTC and will be chosen on or before Saturday 11th August 2012.

* The bounty is 3.0 BTC but if the winner's logo is used, (s)he will receive AT LEAST an extra 2.5 BTC via the tip mechanism. Therefore, the offer is 3.0 BTC if we don't use your logo and 5.5 BTC if we do.

A fennec is a type of fox, and our mascot is a yet-to-be-named anthropomorphic fennec character. Building something related to this (a silhouette, paw-print or similar) will be looked upon favorably.

Picture of mascot as a lawyer
Picture of mascot working in a datacenter

These images will be used on the background of the site (along with others) with content on top of it (in a floating semi-transparent div). Therefore, these logos should look good in the top left or top right of these images. Showing this in your designs will be looked upon favorably.

Our idea is a chunky font, something friendly and homely, all lowercase. Do something playful.

By entering, you agree that:
  • You have no right to re-sell the design to another company, nor anything based on it.
  • If you win, you grant Fennec Internet Services exclusive rights to use the logo in a commercial capacity in any way it wishes. You revoke any such right to do so yourself, though you may use it on portfolio pages as an example of your work.

To enter, post your designs on the RUGATU thread here: http://www.rugatu.com/questions/2327/logo-design-contest-fennec-internet-services - By using RUGATU, we guarantee that at least 3.0 BTC *will* be paid to somebody on or before 11th August 2012.

I tried to add a vanity address to my wallet and I'm getting this output (don't worry, this isn't the private key of the address I *want* to add, there's no BTC in it, etc):

This private key checks out successfully on blockchain.info, so I'm wondering what's wrong. My bitcoind version is 60300, which I believe to be the latest.

Edit: Just to confirm, this happens with the last 6 addresses I've generated.

Thanks.

18  Other / Off-topic / Bit-Pay Taking Advantage of their Payment Gateway Monopoly for ASICs? on: June 25, 2012, 09:25:10 PM
Edit: Very glad to be able to say that I was wrong. Apparently the rate I was looking at was not relevant to the BFL transactions and was for Bit-Pay shopping carts. Bit-Pay is paying full market depth for Bitcoin. Apologies if I confused anyone and rest assured I'll be using Bit-Pay for my next transaction.

Dear Bit-Pay,

We all know that in business, you have to make a profit, but as a payment processor, your profit should be primarily taken from fees on the merchant's side. You do charge these fees at 2.69%. Brilliant.

Bitcoin spot price right now is $6.31, but according to your site, you're treating each Bitcoin as just $6.04. This is almost a hidden 5% fee being levered on the customer as well. At no time in the past 3-4 days has a Bitcoin been worth as little as $6.04. This isn't a weighted market average, it's just price gouging.

You're essentially charging fees exceeding 7% whilst claiming to be cheaper than PayPal and Credit Card. It's not good business practice, it's bordering on fraud, and I hope that either you get your act into gear or BFL find a more consumer-friendly payment gateway.

I was planning to use BitPay for my next BFL order, but now I think I'll just wire it.

19  Economy / Games and rounds / ASIC Raffle III: Win a BFL Single SC & MORE! (NMC/LTC/SLC Welcome) on: June 24, 2012, 04:35:53 AM
ASIC Raffle III: Win a BitForce SC Single Mining ASIC!
(Previously known as 'BFL Jalapeno Lottery')

We raffled away a Jalapeno...
Then we raffled away a Jalapeno and some Bitcoins...

What Next?...

How about a 40 60GH/sec BFL BitForce SC Single?
And TWO 3.5 4.5GH/sec BFL SC Jalapenos for second place prize?
And a 3.5 4.5GH/sec BFL SC Jalapeno for third?
...AND cash prize alternatives?

Yes, that's right, we added ANOTHER BFL SC Jalapeno to the 2nd place prize free of charge! What other competition provider would do THAT?!

Consider it done!

And it's OVER!

Winner: thecluck (Confirmation of Payout)
2nd Place: yonvanom (Confirmation of Payout)
3rd Place: viperjbm (Confirmation of Payout)

If you've enjoyed the raffles so far, please participate in the Christmas Raffle and help us to raise $1500 for Opportunity International, and win a share of 64 BTC of prizes!

To buy tickets:
PM Luceo with the subject 'ASIC Raffle III' to enter, or contact Luceo on #bitcoin-otc (please check my identification with gribble before sending any Bitcoins - ;;ident Luceo).

Special Bulk-Order Offer I: Buy 25 tickets, get 1 free.

Alt-Coin Special: I will donate 10% of my operating margin (~2.4 BTC) to the development of the ALT-COIN (Namecoin, Solidcoin or Litecoin) which sells the most tickets, so support your alt-coin and buy in Namecoin (50 sold), Litecoin (187 sold) or Solidcoin (188 sold) today!

The Tickets & The Prizes
- There will be 1,024 tickets. Each ticket will represent a 1/1,024 chance of winning each of the three prizes.
- The winners will be determined by the block-chain to prevent any cheating on behalf of the operator. The first block timestamped after 0:00 UTC on the day after the final ticket is sold will determine the winner. NOTE: At the time that the final ticket is ADDED, there will be a post made in this thread as per previous rounds. This post shall determine the time & date of final ticket sale. This is to avoid any confusion in 'time of last sale'.
- The final three characters of the hash of the aforementioned block will determine the first place winner, who will receive a pre-order for a BFL BitForce SC Single (40GH/sec ASIC) or the BTC value thereof.
- The next three characters from the end of the hash of the aforementioned block will determine the second place winner, who will receive a pre-order for a two BFL SC Jalapenos (3.5 GH/sec ASIC) or the BTC value thereof.
- The next three characters from the end of the hash of the aforementioned block will determine the third place winner, who will receive a pre-order for a BFL SC Jalapeno (3.5 GH/sec ASIC) or the BTC value thereof.

Example
To visualise the above, I have color-coded the segments which will determine the prize winners from the hash of the most recent block:

0000000000000166c6987cfd687b0777bd6800a798db1f31b3cab74528bacf43

The holder of the ticket which wins on f43 would receive a BFL Single SC, the holder of the ticket which wins on bac would receive a BFL Jalapeno and the holder of the ticket which wins on 528 would receive a BFL Jalapeno.

These would be tickets 3d0, 2eb and 14a, respectively (if you don't understand this, scroll down).

Further Conditions
- Ticket sales are final. No refunds will be offered to any ticket purchasers unless the raffle is cancelled. Conditions for cancellation are as follows: No ticket sales for a period of seven (7) days OR BFL goes out of business or otherwise decides it will not ship these products. The termination period has changed from the old period of thirty days from date the raffle starts because I honestly have no idea how long it will take to sell 1024 tickets. If it looks like the raffle isn't going to happen, the operator will offer refunds at the operator's discretion.
- The operator is not affiliated or associated with BFL. If BFL fail to ship or otherwise do not perform up to standards, it will be the duty of the order holder (the winners) to deal with BFL directly. The order will be made in your name, so you will have every ability to contact them.
- Winners can either provide the operator with personal details to make the order (name, shipping address, e-mail) or make the order themselves. In the case of the latter, the Bit-Pay payment address will need to be presented in a public domain (for example #bitcoin-otc on freenode) so that payment of the invoice can be witnessed by the community. This is to prevent any dispute as to whether winnings were paid.
- The numbers 000 to fff in hex represent the numbers 0-4,096 in decimal. Therefore, each of the 1,024 tickets (0 - 3ff) will represent four of those numbers. The 'winning' numbers have been listed with the ticket numbers so as to avoid confusion.
- BFL don't ship everywhere. This is due to awkward US restrictions on shipping cryptography. If you're not sure, contact them before entering, or just take the cash prize.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's to stop you running off with our money?
The fact that I'm honest, the fact that I love this community, my prior trades, the two previously completed raffles and the simple economic fact that this competition is worth it to run it honestly.

What if the price of Bitcoin drops or rises?
I reserve the right to change the price for a ticket (this will likely only happen under extreme circumstances). All tickets prior sold will be considered final and will be honored regardless of what happens to the Bitcoin price.

Is there a ticket limit?
No, you can buy as many as you want (assuming there's that many left).

For the alt-coin development donation, how will you calculate the donation and where will you donate?
Margin will be calculated as the value of 1,024 tickets in BTC minus the amount the prizes cost. I will not attempt to calculate the value in altcoins as it will depend on the value when they are exchanged, which may be prior to the end of the raffle.
10% of this margin will be donated to a Bitcoin address chosen by coblee (if Litecoin wins), khalahan (if Namecoin wins) or RealSolid (if Solidcoin wins).
In the event of a tie (two alt-coins sell the same number of tickets), each will receive 5% of the margin.
This margin will NOT accurately represent profit, as some Bitcoins are hedged into USD, some altcoins are moved into Bitcoin or USD, etc. It's too difficult to prove an exact profit figure when dealing with six currencies. However, this will be how the donation is calculated (in practice, this will likely mean the donation value is in excess of 10% of profit).

What happens when a winner is decided?
The winner will need to claim their prize within ninety (90) days either by:
- Responding on the forum, on the username they used to win the prize;
- Messaging Luceo on IRC, idented to gribble under the username they used to win the prize.

You changed the price, now how do we work out the total intake?
260 tickets @ 0.3 BTC.
295 tickets @ 0.25 BTC.
Rest @ 0.3 BTC.

Please DO NOT risk BTC which you can't afford to lose. The raffle is supposed to be a fun and recreational activity and not a guarantee of future income.
20  Economy / Services / Selling Content: Blogging, Reviews, Editorials & Press Releases on: June 16, 2012, 01:06:53 PM
Good morning Bitcointalk,

I'm very pleased to offer a service which is very close to my heart: words.

I have a long history of writing content for various blogging sites, on forums, as an official reporter at Monomaniac e-Sports and in a long slew of sales posts. To cut myself short, I'm good at getting a message across in plain, conversational English.

As a fluent English speaker, I have no issues with complex grammatical nuances and tricky spellings, and an ability to weave the language in such a way that non-regular speakers may struggle to. As such, if you're providing a service from outside the Anglosphere and wish to give your press release a native touch, it'd be a breeze for me to work my magic on whatever you've got written up and make it presentable, simple and understandable.

Now, a little bit of depth about my services:

  • Blogging: 0.5 BTC / 100 Words
If you want me to write guest posts for your blog, I'll have to confirm that I'm knowledgeable about the subjects which you want me to write about before I start. My knowledge ranges from mobile technologies to Greek mythology, so be sure to ask rather than assume. Samples can be found at monoesports.com.
  • Editorial: 0.5 BTC / 200 Words
My editorial services consist of taking your document and correcting grammatical, linguistic and spelling mistakes, as well as re-wording the contents to be more appealing to a reader. I will check with you if I'm unsure what message you're trying to put across. Samples upon request.
  • Reviews: 0.5 BTC / 100 Words
(IF YOU WANT ME TO REVIEW A PRODUCT I DON'T OWN, YOU WILL NEED TO SUPPLY IT AND PAY FOR IT)
Similarly to my blogging services, I will not review items or services which I do not feel comfortable evaluating. Note: This is not a guarantee of a positive review. The entire purpose of this service is to give an impartial view of a product or service, and as such it may be more suitable for reviewing services & products for your site than for reviewing your services & products to give you nice quotes and a good star rating.
  • Press Release: 1.0 BTC / 100 Words
Want to announce a new security or a new product? Want that announcement to be exciting, crammed with energetic language and really draw a reader to what you're offering? Look no further, with a pedigree in launching products & services I'll be sure to light up your big release!
  • Other services available upon request include Twitter handling, Facebook posts, product descriptions and just about any other linguistic marketing material you may require.

Services will be delivered within an agreed timeframe, usually 24 hours from receipt of payment. If you have an exceptional trade history, I may agree to produce for you in advance, but payment will be required within 24 hours of content delivery.

If you're not happy with anything I deliver, we can talk through it and I will happily make amendments. These will be Free of Charge unless they deviate from the original specification (simply put: if it's my mistake, you won't pay for it). Customer satisfaction is my modus operandi.

First 3 blog post or editorial orders of 2.5 BTC or more (face value) get a 0.5 BTC discount.
