1  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] bitmain coupons (value of 90$ to 320$) on: September 26, 2018, 03:50:15 PM
If you have coupons to sell write here it's value, how many you have, how much you want for it and expiration date. You can also send PM.

Escrow is a must for all transactions. I will pay for it.

Thanks
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Multi Vega GPU on MSI Z170 Mobo on: August 28, 2017, 06:24:51 PM
I'm Having a hard time to detect more than one Vega on my MSI Z170-A Gamin X MoBo. Anyone had success to get to 8 Vega on this board?

I saw pictures of 4 Vega on an Asus Z270-A and words about success on the newer H110 BTC pro.

Thanks!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Looking for Sapphire reference RX 470 Bios : Hynix, Samsung and Micron on: May 03, 2017, 02:54:16 AM
As you could guess by the title, things went wrong. I have purchased 24 of these GPU at the same time and erroneously thought that they were all the same. I modded the Bios of my first GPU by copying the memory straps. Then flashed the first rig followed by the next. I have confirmed 72h stability and decided to flash the last two rigs.

The last two rigs are now crashing in seconds at any clocks while mining but I'm still able to boot and flash Bios. Googled this problem and found that with the serial number I could tell the memory type for some of my GPU. Anyone can give me a hand to locate or copy the other roms?

Reference Sapphire RX 470
  • Elpida – Got it from my first GPU backup
  • Hynix – Looking for it
  • Samsung – Looking for it
  • Micron – Looking for it

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Large scale GPU mining, OS and miner selection on: February 07, 2017, 06:10:22 PM
There is now many option (OS and miners) to set up a new GPU farm. I think the following factors are the most important to think of when comparing options:

  • Cost (initial and recurrent fees)
  • Hashrate (also consider losses due to stability)
  • Power consumption
  • Ease of use & maintenance time

For quite a while I'm been using claymore's miners on windows 7. For my next expansion, I have 3 options in mind and I would like to know your thoughts. Legality is important for me so I consider all fees.

  • Option1: Windows 10 (100$) + Claymore’s miners (1-2% fees): Hashrate seems better
  • Option2: EthOS (39$ and include 16GB SSD): seems easier to manage farm
  • Option3: Ubuntu: seems cheaper but requires more time to set up

Lets discuss about OS and miner selection. Your inputs are very welcome.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining boards remplacent to the popular H81 Pro Btc and H97 Anniversary on: November 11, 2016, 03:03:09 AM
Any suggestion to remplace the two very popular boards H81 Pro Btc and H97 Anniversary ? I would like to avoid an other board near it's end of manufacturing.

What you guys have found to become the next best mining board ?

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / ETH: DwarfPool is really charging 1% ? on: March 21, 2016, 01:45:05 AM
Hi all,

Just wondering why my earnings on DwarfPool are on average 12-15% below mining calculators. Pool side hashrate is what I expect from my GPUs:

DwarfPool: 2.10 ETH/Day for 108 MH
Using http://ethereum-mining-calculator.com/ : 2.41 ETH/Day
Using https://etherscan.io/ether-mining-calculator : 2.42 ETH/Day

Anyone experienced the same results ? Any idea where this disconnect comes from ?

Thanks
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethminer, how to be sure you are solo hashing properly ? on: March 16, 2016, 12:40:41 AM
Hi,

I am solo mining for a few days now without mining a block. I am most probably simply unlucky, but it made me wonder how could I check if I am hashing fine?

Ethminer cmd window is displaying same text as you could find on google image.
Hashing rate is what I expect from my GPUs.
Geth is in sync with current block (www.etherchain.org)
Everything seems normal.

Now, what if something is wrong with my DAG file or anything else is wrong, how could I know? You guys found a way to check all this?

Thanks

I'm looking for the cards listed above. Paying in BTC. I'll also require an escrow on my money. Shipping will be to Montreal.

I'm also interested in powered usb risers.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU question: AMD 280 vs 280x ? on: March 03, 2016, 01:54:43 PM
I found confusing information on the web. Does a R9 280 will be able to mine at 25 MH/sec ?

What does this X means ?

There is curently a good price on newegg.
13  Economy / Service Discussion / Hosting: how to start on: January 15, 2016, 02:56:39 AM
I’m in the Bitcoin industry for a few months now and been reading and made calculation every day since. I would like to expand the size of the little farm I am taking care of. Hosting is my next step

What I have to offer:
Room for 16 Kw @ 0.085$ / Kwh and plan to expand as needed
Electricity here is very stable, can guarantee 99% up time
I’m located in a quiet area and have a good security system.
I’ll be well insured for out of my control hazards if worst happen.
All year long cool area.
Obviously decent internet connection
I’m a professional engineer, don’t be worried about proper care of your miners

Now, how could I start hosting? I mean there is scammer everywhere in this industry. I didn’t post a lot so my status on this forum is newbie. How could I earn your trust? I’m open to pretty much everything.
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Overclocking predictions using Novec 2 phase immersion cooling on: January 10, 2016, 05:11:33 PM
I have 6 miners for about 2 months now. I plugged them all to my central HVAC system to distribute the heat generated through my whole house. I’ve tuned each miner’s frequency and fan speed to the limit of my noise level tolerance.

Now as the next step, I’m considering building a sound proof box around my little farm to allow greater overclocking. Note that I believe that the price of that box is lower than the price of buying low noise fans. Except that you have to design the sound box properly so that it does not overheat your miners. Being a professional engineer, I’m not afraid about that.

While designing this sound box, I’ve come across a more advanced cooling method: 2 phase immersion cooling which after hours of reading and calculations seems an ever more interesting challenge to tackle. The price of building this “professional quality” cooling tank is high, especially for the Novec fluid itself. And I wonder what overclocking would be feasible with this extremely high cooling potential.

Not being a pro of overclocking limits, I turn to you guys to help me predict what can be achieved with 2PIC. I’ve heard that overclocking and overvolting of an S7 would give Hash rate of about 7 TH/sec which is an improvement of +45%. If such improvement of hash rate can be assumed safe using 2PIC, than this tank development would make sense money wise.

Again, please help me predict what % of hash rate improvement could be safely achieved with this cooling method.

Thanks !
