602  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / I thought about this and I wonder why Asic builders don't stop building? on: August 21, 2014, 01:34:57 AM
Very  simple the network is 210ph or whatever it is.

There are 4 or 5 big builders of gear.

bitfury
bitmaintech
bfl?
spondoolies?
Asicminer
KNC
Black Arrow

If they have 1 watt per gh or less gear and mine.  They do not need to sell a thing.

Diff freezes at 2 or 3 %  they make solid money mining.

So why aren't they all freezing sales?

bitfury they have not sold to miners in a while

bfl  they sold they don't deliver

KNC they sold they don't deliver

Black Arrow they sold they don't deliver

bitmaintech has gone to preorders

spondoolies sp30 was a pre order

only asicminer is delivering and it is above 1 watt

this seems to be a very familiar pattern

Okay  last thread had too much info and looked sloppy.  so here goes.

Please feel free to comment post etc.

Is this the best place to invest for coins I do not know.

But you can use a CC

it is cheaper then any cloud service.

I don't leave many coins in the till since earned coins do not have CC protection.

604  Economy / Computer hardware / I have 2 new batch 4 s-3s and a evga 1300 watt psu package deal. make offers on: August 02, 2014, 05:56:37 PM
My idea here is to take the unknown away for you.  So the ' will I get a good s-3 or a bad one ?' has been answered for you .

I have 4 now  2 run at 237 and do 475gh no issues.

The other 2 like 212 and do 430gh no issues.

If you buy from bitmaintech what will you get a 430 machine or a 475 machine.  the truth is you do not know.   and lets face it   950 gh at 730-745 watts vs 850 gh at  645-660 watts  will make a difference in profits.

So  my two are tested and run  at 475gh each  set to freq 237 using btcguild  and using the evga 1300 psu. So they are premium machines.

I am looking to gauge interest From the community.

Would  you be willing to pay at a premium for a know better hashrate.

 For that matter

what would you pay for a s-3  rated at 430gh  and 330 watts tested by me with an evga 1300 watt psu on btcguild

what would you pay for a s-3  rated at 475 gh and 365 watts  tested by me  with an evga 1300 watt psu on btcguild

here is the deal  I have 2 batch 4 s-3's and an evga 1300 psu.

I am offering a package deal  to lower 48 states only.  They will ship on thursday the 7th of Aug.

I have them in house. I will photo in about 10 minutes.

looking to see price offered since these over clock to freq 237 well

here they are running on ant monitor
feel free to comment make offers etc.

I will post undated numbers on the two premo machines in 1 day.

 2 units and psu

here is the gui for one of them

here is the gui for the second one

new thread link is here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=743152.0

Note to mods this thread is in the wrong place as of July 28th. I am now mining with an antminer s-3 on the pool  and mining on btcguild along with the scrypt mining. I would think I should be in the pools section of btc/mining

this section:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=41.0

I could be wrong so no need to move the thread if you do not want to move it.

Edit Mon the 28th of July.

I added an antminer S-3 On July 28 >>>>>>>>>>    cost = $489      1 month free hosting

I added  a 27mh falcon on July 21 >>>>>>>>>>>    cost  =  $599    3 months free hosting

I started with the promo gridseed Blade on July 17th   cost = $0          Lifetime Free hosting

I ask mods to move this to mining pools in the btc section since I will be mining  with an antminer s-3.  If you want to wait until I post a screenshot of the antminer okay.

I talked with the ceo of gawminers yesterday and I agreed to try his company again.

This is my try with his cloud.zenminer.com  option.  I am in the cloud using a gridseed blade.

this mines at mutiple pools and converts to btc.  So I feel it can belong with btc and not alt/scrypt coins as it does result in btc payout.

First full day is today.  Note yesterday was  a part day and I earned 0.00025832 BTC

I have about  5.2 mh   mining at the clevermining choice . >>>>>>>> this number fluxes every few minutes.

the payment should be 0.0035376 btc

I will post it when it comes..

I will do 10 days at each  choice. They are as below.

 1)Clevermining

 2)CoinKing

 3)NiceHash

 4)ProfitPool

 5)WafflePool

Full disclosure I talked with the ceo of gaw and told him I would run an honest fair report on this account. My cost for the account was $0.

the small 0.00025832  btc is a few hours of mining done yesterday.

I also put this thread  that I can edit and mod the thread..

Here is a screen shot of my account: I plan to post 1 screen shot a date updating the results.

609  Bitcoin / Hardware / I stumbled upon a minerscube website the deal appears too good to be true. on: July 14, 2014, 01:03:54 PM
Okay minersbox  offers minerscube  a 5th unit with 825 watts of power.

They offer shipping the end of july and they offer paypal.

price is 4500 usd

who the fuck are they?  scammers?

I do not even want to put the link as I fail to see why they would sell it  if it gets .165 watts per hash.

hell just mine it.  I also struggle to believe a 20nm chip would be as low as .165 watts a hash

Anyone know anything about this.

It truly appears to be too good to be true.

Please don't buy into them because you read my post.

I was tempted to buy one  due to the paypal offer.

If I wait until the 20th of July and place an order my payment would not be due until sept 12th.
If they fail to ship by august 1st I would put a claim in against them.

They offer it for 6.5btc  =  4100usd

I guess they just need   20 btc buyers to make the scam worth it.

I have 4 soon to be 5 gridseed blades in house.

I have a  1th miner hosted for me.

So I have a total of  about 25mh in ltc hash power

And a total of about 2th in btc hash power.

I was thinking of Holding 11 shares and selling 9 shares. total of 20 shares

So A single share = 1.25mh in ltc hash power  plus   100gh in btc

what is a fair price well lets see.

IF you buy 4 five chip gridseeds you get around 1.32 mh and spend  40 watts.

you need to supply a power supply and some cables.

If you buy 3 r-box miners you get around 96gh for btc and spend around 150 watts  you need some cables and a psu.

So if you want to do this in your home you need to spend about 360 for the gridseeds and about 220 for the r-box.

a good psu and cables = 100 you are looking at 580 plus 100 =

 680 not counting a pc or  2 raspberry pi's

so say 750  usd  and around 200 watts or 5 k watts a day  that is around 75 cents a day or 22.50 a month.

So to get started we are talking  close to 750 usd and 22.50 a month.

That is a lot of cash.

Realistically  you would loss money unless coins shoot up  a lot.

100 gh of btc makes 72 a month  if diff was to freeze and power was free.

1.25 mh of ltc makes 34 a month if diff was to freeze and power was free.

So you would bring in 106 a month power is not free it is 22.50 .

so you would need about 9 months to break even.   not counting diff rises.

So basically buying hash power on your own would make you a loser.   Without big fiat price increases.

So the question is how much can I beat that price  of 750 usd up front with 22.50 a month in fees by.

well I can charge 0 in fees for 4 months

I can charge   .814 btc     up front.

at todays rates that is  about  450 usd.

you pay me .814 btc and get 1 share with 100gh btc hash and 1.25mh hash with no hosting fees for four months.

every thing  I wrote is subject to change i am gathering interest in a small group buy for smaller miners with less to invest

Please wait to post here.

Now open for comments.

 thanks.  phil

LOOK BELOW my second account is judypug1956.

I did not want to pad my signature deal.  Feel free to ask questions and or question my math.

shots of my 2 ltc accounts they hash about  19.0 to 19.9mh

One thing I have to determine  is exact share size for the ltc and for the btc.

My gridseeds seem to run under  4.9mh at wemineltc  but variance is good.   they run over 5.1 at  cex.io but variance sucks.

So while 5x gridseeds should be 26mh  my guess is they will be 25mh maybe 24mh.

My 1th miner runs at about 1020th.

So right now I said a share of the ltc is 1.25mh  which if I honor will cost me a bit.

and a share of the btc is 100gh which if i honor would be a little in my favor.

I need to smooth out those numbers so that no one gets fucked.

618  Economy / Computer hardware / Looking to expand your mining op some gear for you. on: June 11, 2014, 05:05:48 PM
I have a 4 switch power box from siemans it has 4x  15 amp circuits.

run in an 8 gauge  50 amp   120volt line  and you can run 4x  15 amp circuits off it.

please check your local usa power codes.

I also have an 8-port gigabit greennet switch.

You can add on  4 antminer s-2's  one to each  15 amp circuit .   photos of the power breakout are here.

the load center runs around 20 new the circuit breaks are about 16  so 36 new.. the  trendnet switch is about

the circuit center is very close to this model

http://www.amazon.com/Siemens-E0408ML1125FU-Flush-Circuit-Center/dp/B000VYOVGO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402505817&sr=8-1&keywords=siemans++4+space+circuit+center

here is the circuit breaker

http://www.amazon.com/Siemens-Q115-120-Volt-Circuit-Breaker/dp/B000H5T2XE/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_img_y

so this is about 37 or 38 at amazon.

the switch is here

http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-Unmanaged-Gigabit-GREENnet-TEG-S80g/dp/B001QUA6RA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402505962&sr=8-1&keywords=trendnet+teg-s80g

32 usd.

lastly an extender is here

http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PA2010-Powerline-Adapter-200Mbps/dp/B00CUD1KEU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402506070&sr=8-2&keywords=tp-link+av200

about 20 usd   note not a full kit  you need have the starter  kit to use this.

but  all 3 items would allow you to  increase your hash in a second spot.

at amazon the total would be 90 usd  I will package all 3 and ship to the usa (no Alaska or Hawaii lower 48 states)

for .1 btc  or 6 LTC   free shipping .  that is about 65 usd.  ask questions about any of the 3 items but I prefer a combo.

photos of all three note two are sealed the circuit box was never mounted so I will call it NOS

inside shot of the circuit box.

This is what i have done to it.    I swapped out the fan…

I used 8 2tb hdds in it doing JBOD storage.

It maxes at 2tb hdd's I ran mac os 10.7    and stored a lot of video on this.  been sitting in a box but it works.

So if you need a cheap way to store shit and have a lot of 2tb or smaller hdds this is a good  deal  ..

I don't have any software or controller cards with it  just some esata  cables and a power cord.

three photos of it

620  Bitcoin / Pools / A suggestion for any well known pool operator. Run a second pool as solo on: June 09, 2014, 12:43:16 PM
Here is my suggestion.  right know there are 1 or 2 small solo mining pools.

The operators of those pools are not well known and who knows if your would ever collect your solo block if you won.

Right now I count at least 8 well know pools that pay off and people do not fear that they will pay.

If any one of you ran a solo mining pool as an option.

Mining for BTC and NMC  with a 1 btc fee  and a 2 nmc fee for the winner of the block it would be a viable option for a miner.

Lets say miner a has 2 antminer s-1's  and 5 antminer U-2's

he could point his big guns (s-1's) to your standard poll and he could point his pop guns (U-2's) at the solo pool.

If someone hits a btc block you send him all the coins less 1BTC.

If someone hits a nmc block you send him all the coin less 2NMC.

I am thinking this would allow for getting new/fresh miners.

An ebay add saying buy this U-2 or buy this R-box   it will give you a chance at every block mined as long as you point it to

Solo POOL

Right now   a 25 coin BTC block is worth 16250 USD
Right now   a 50 coin NMC block is worth    150 USD

SEEMS to me a good  idea to attract new miners.

My skills are not that of coding and pool design.

Is this a viable idea for a bigger respected pool?

Of is it just not feasible?

Comments are welcome.
