581  Bitcoin / Hardware / Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: November 25, 2014, 12:32:47 AM

GENERAL BACKGROUND BS

Who am I a miner been mining since 2012.
Why this thread I like the sp20.
Disclosure I have 6 of these.
First one sold to me by raskul  it was 795 he gave me a coupon it was 715 +119 shipping = 834 Raskul links to spondoolies-tech

I got a deal from an ebay seller on the second one I paid about 700 after an ebay coupon.  ebay is always hit or miss this was a triple with 2 men on.

3,4,5 black friday/cyber monday  sale 3  different orders  each was 695 + 119 shipping or 814  raskul sig link for these 3

6th  Spondoolies contacted me about a t-shirt offered on for free.  I said cool but since you gave out 10 machines to legends for free how about selling me the sixth one cheaper. So the sixth one cost me   814-150 = 664 and I got a free t-shirt.   and used  raskul  link again.

That is my full disclosure. I do not get paid for this and if you look at my signature I do not get any referral money for sales of this item.

The good stuff starts here

Below are the links I have found that I think are good for buyers and or miners to look at.

Right off the bat   the machine's 1700gh rating is like saying my Kia Forte is rated to drive at 120 mph or 190 KPH. yeah on a slight downhill road with the pedal to the floor. On a cold 5C but not too cold day -10C.

Think 1600gh for your max.  with fan on 80 or 90 , cold air and a good psu.

FAN is loud. even at setting of 20%

In my opinion this is the best miner I have ever owned.   Why is that?  it  downclocks really really really well

I am debating if I should go from 6 to 10 of them. ----- note I ordered more for  a total of 10

Okay I purchased one last week it arrived today. I will show lots of photos .  I will test it on various settings with different psu's.

I self mod for a few reason's I don't want to hear it won't roi or it will roi.  I don't want to read nasty insults.

This is for gear head tweaking dudes and dudettes.

Many photos to come.

box is about the same size as an antminer s-3

cardboard packing my  guess is rough handling and these would struggle- so far 8 have arrived safely

582  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Nov 18th to Dec 1 diff thread (-0.35%) to (1.14%) on: November 18, 2014, 11:31:37 PM
I will get this going in a bit.

I self mod it do to seriouscoin   and basically I tolerant anythings except insults so everyone feel free to comment

this was Nov 4 to Nov 18 below

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=846810.0

Okay  last diff was 1.76 %

This one starts out very low :

 bitcoincharts =  (-0.35%)
 bitcoinwisdom= (+1.1%)

my guess is both estimates are low and the coupon dump from bitmaintech will cause a bigger jump maybe as much as 4-6%

Thread locked  look for a new one soon!!

running from 0.033% to 1.16%

I still see no reason for builders to push for more data centers

With current coinbase price at $363 usd a coin

building bigger data centers have big downsides. 1 good price drop under 200 and the big guy will be seriously set back.

I wonder how long we stay at 300-400 btc price

because at that price growth will be very low.

As usual I do bitcoincharts and bitcoinwisdom one runs low one runs high.  so 1.85 to 5.07   is the guess for now.
I also added a section on diff since May of 2013 when asics started to be available via asic miner

Difficulty History of asics and btc

I divide the  diff jumps  into 3 sections.  I realize that cut off is arbitrary some will say I should go back to the first Avalon's of Jan  2013 for Early asic not May of 2013  but in May of 2013  asic miner was doing good sales of the little .333gh block erupters so I used May of 2013 as a starting point.

With the maturity of asics growth has finally become slower.

Asic maturity days  So far we are  about 104 days into the mature 28mn chips.  So far  this is about a 9.77% avg for this time period.  I see it going lower then 9.77 % due to power cost and of course  price in fiat.

588  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / My new diff thread covers Sept 25th to Oct 7. on: September 28, 2014, 05:57:38 PM
Okay I have been very busy.  Last diff was big 16% on the 25th of sept.

Right now  the predication is:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Bitcoin Difficulty:   34,661,425,924
Estimated Next Difficulty:   37,480,382,393 (+8.13%)
Adjust time:   After 1629 Blocks, About 11.9 days

and

 http://www.bitcoincharts.com/

Difficulty   34661425924
Estimated   34549633092 in 1629 blks

about -1 percent.

I have a really good idea why.  Simple last diff that jump bitmaintech put a shit load of s-4's online.  This jump they put none online.  They sold some and shipped them so right now they are in transit thus the tiny drop in hash rate.

Careful study of the all diff jumps since the release of the s-3 in july supports this theory ..  the out of bounds numbers would be a data center that was built by bitfury. and maybe some gear by spondoolies.  the rest is bitmaintech with some asicminer tossed in.

We are pretty much in a market that 3-5 asic builders run.

So we will have a smaller diff this time.
589  Economy / Computer hardware / Sold I want to pass on some good karma very good deal on asicminer tube I have 2 on: September 21, 2014, 03:24:29 AM

They have been sold and mailed off.

________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________

Okay here is the deal.  I purchased 1 asicminer tube from canary in the mines group buy.  I then purchased a second one from Blazedout419.  I paid good prices for the 2.  I modded them a bit and I got really lucky with these I hit 2 fast blocks in a very small pool mmpool.org I found a zen gawminer design flaw and was given a reward so when all is said and done .  The 2.0 btc  I paid for these has completely roi'd and I have a profit of .6btc on them.

right now the cheapest price for them is .79btc  and you need to buy 10x of them.    so that would cost 1.58btc

So here is the deal. I will sell them in a 2 pack  for 1.2 btc and you pay for the shipping. I am on the east coast In Howell NJ, 07731

If you are in a lower  cost for power area these are a really good deal.

These get about 1.1 watt a gh.  and with my mods you can do freq 290 and get about 880gh at about 1000 watts for 1 and get 1760 gh and use 1936 watts

watts.

So you are getting under 30 cents a gh !   494 usd for 1760 gh .

I rather sell the two as a pair.  I have two controllers and this is programed to mine on cex.io

590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / my third zen-gaw thread on cloud ownership on: September 20, 2014, 09:09:02 PM
My apologies for neglecting this thread

Some real world issues happen and I cut back my posting.

I sold off everything but my free gaw fury which has free hosting until nov 7 2014.

I was ahead  0.522 btc on sept 29th 2014.  At that point in time I had 4mh in  primes I sold them for 142.50 usd on 10-14-2014 that was  about    0.352 btc.

total profit of 0.874 btc. after sale of primes

I sold 478gh of genesis for about 286 usd  that was about .71 btc

 0.874
 0.710
1.574 btc total profit of 1.574 btc after sale of genesis.

between sept 30th and oct 14th I mined about .11 after fees

1.574
0.110
1.684  complete total of profit  as of today oct  15th 2014

my original cc bill was fully paid.

and I now have 1 little ole fury convert to a prime and about .003 btc in the account

so 1800  usd on my cc in   1800 usd paid off on my cc

plus 1.684 btc profit  not bad for 3 months or so.

592  Economy / Service Discussion / Okay zen-gaw offers new options for prime hashlets. on: September 14, 2014, 03:44:07 PM
Okay I have the following on my zencloud.  there are some new options that include sale of a prime hashlet a rocketship boost of a hashlet merging a hashlet splitting a hashlet.  Will look for more things to do with them.  Now this is new software so it may have bugs.  I have not found any and after last week I have promised to send a pm directly to Josh (zen ceo)   If I found one  so do not expect me to report on any bugs. I have had a few people asking if I have found any more of them.

the bottom left corner shows 3 options

after you pick the sell option you can still change your mind note the unusual price is because this is the gifted fury so it has a bit more value then a 1mh hashlet
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / I am mining at wemineltc I now get doge coins as an add on feature. on: September 14, 2014, 10:48:34 AM
plain and simple I do some side ltc mining on the wemineltc pool   last night they added  merged mining with doge coins as an add on.   So in about 7 hours I have added 150 doge coins .

calc says 15000kh should earn 2110 coins a day

http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/dogecoin-mining-calculator/?h=15000.00&p=270&pc=0.15&pf=0.00&d=8936.70867744&r=62500.00000000&er=0.00000060&btcer=485.57000000&hc=0.00

so I guess I am having some bad luck when it comes to these . as 7 hours should be about 600 coins
594  Economy / Computer hardware / Sp20 WTB anyone have one? on: September 14, 2014, 03:12:50 AM
Anyone have one of them or know where to get one?

Rather not wait 35 days for one.

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp20-jackson-october-batch-1

it says shipping second half of OCT  which is 35 days off.
I would buy one now but once again I don't want to wait for 35 or more days could be as long as 48 day wait for shipping.

I would be willing to test one with a

a evga1300 ---------psu

a evga 1600----------psu

a seasonic 1200 plat-----psu

I just do not want to send 1190 + 119 = 1309 usd in btc out and gone for that many days.
595  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Newest btc prediction is 0.23 % to 9.58% Diff jump on Sept 28th on: September 13, 2014, 08:17:55 PM
http://bitcoincharts.com/

Difficulty   29829733124
Estimated   29899735872 in 2013 blks

a .23% jump

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Bitcoin Difficulty:   29,829,733,124
Estimated Next Difficulty:   32,687,713,301 (+9.58%)
Adjust time:   After 2014 Blocks, About 13.8 days

I start a new one every time there is a new diff jump.

I find these two tend to meet in the middle so 0.23 - 9.58  would be about  4.905 percent.

the last thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=765956.0

  bitcoincharts = .0007 percent

btcwisdom = 14.78  percent

middle = 7.43 percent  I said under 7 percent   real number was 8.75 percent.

It should interesting to see if the under closer to the middle trend continues.
596  Economy / Computer hardware / very low cost a noctua fan nf-b9 pwm + pcie power adapter + rosewill fan on: September 13, 2014, 03:25:29 PM

this is about 30-40 in value .  I would take  15 dollars for all of it including  shipping  it  to any usa state .  I would like it in btc that is about .031390xx btc

3 items the noctua fan is here at newegg

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608027&cm_re=noctua_nf_b9-_-35-608-027-_-Product

mine is just the fan it is a four pin fan and an adapter

the rosewill is an 80 mm fan  the pcie adapter is diy it allows

4x  12 volt  dc plugs

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/82-12675  they were joined to a 6 pin pcie  adapter.  these four plugs used about 180 watts to run 4 gridseed blades.  just about 45 watts a plug.

I had these  run well attached to platinum seasonic psu pcie cable.  so this was able to draw 180 watts 24/7/365

well for 90 days not 365.  I  sold almost all my gridseeds on ebay  but I have spare parts.

this shows some of the plugs and the noctua fans

you get 1 noctua fan + adapter and four plugs to one pcie and the rosewill fan  that adapter will do 4 gridseed blades at freq 800

I sold off most of my gridseed blades I do not need this gear.  I will toss in a grill

the full set of what you get .

the power adapter for the noctua

packing it safe

ready to ship to any of 50 states
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How I found a flaw with zen-cloud payout system and more. on: September 10, 2014, 12:57:10 PM
New edit:
I want to say that the bounty question was caused by my rush . Eric of zen mentioned to not post details here on bitcointalk. I had a miscommunication with him  and posted details my bad. Eric then said the would not pay the bounty.
Frankly talking on pm's at 1:00 am
was my mistake I was tired and misunderstood Eric.  Posting so fast was a mistake on my part.  I got a lot of people going in lots of directions over this.  I know I pissed off Eric and he said no bounty.  To defend him it was late at night I dropped a bombshell on him and spam filters caused a lot of people a lot of grief.
on the good side some real fixes are offered to this problem in the discussion on hashtalk.org so for now no nicehash but this idea below has promise

https://hashtalk.org/topic/5145/nicehash-sha256/737?page=39

since westhash/nicehash had rapid price flux someone proposed  a one month average I thought a diff jump length may be enough to fix it. cost of driving price up 10 or 11 days in a row would be more then enough and easier to detect.

Older edit:

I am in contact with Gaw ceo and he asked me to say a few things.
I  am trying to be fair.  So here goes.
I stumbled on this problem. I tried to contact Eric and zen on zen hashtalk it was late last night and there was some miscommunication between the two of us. He asked me to not announce what I had found. I said okay He wanted emails explaining the flaw.  I sent multiple emails to him.  He kept saying I was not sending emails. I made a  statement that I did not believe him.  I posted what I found here.  In retrospect I suppose I could have waited longer to release the details.  I did not I released them.  My 1:00 am thinking may or may not have been the best thinking.

Well the nicehash sha 256 mining option was ended on zen-gaw.  I have to say I have caused quite a few angry people. I wish that Eric's spam filters were not working as hard as they were in retrospect I would have waited to release this to see how they handled the issue.  I think I was mistaken and most likely Eric really did not have those emails.

 _______________________________________________________________________________ __

In defense of Eric and Josh of Zen and Gaw they closed the mining op for that pool they did the correct thing.

https://hashtalk.org/topic/5145/nicehash-sha256/3  They ended the nicehash -sha256 option
_______________________________________________________________________________ _______

I locked the first try at writing this thread  I decided I want to be able to moderate the thread.

I had 4 s-3's they mined at westhash and at nicehash. I sometimes would get huge spikes in price on Nicehash and westhash.  Often getting 2x normal payouts. I did not understand why but noted it as something I would look into. I did not understand why anyone would pay for sha256 hash at 2x the going rates.
I sold off my s-3's . I purchased 2 asicminer tubes.

I was mining at mmpool.org with a pair of asic miner tubes. Why a small pool because asicminer tubes have pool choice limits if you use the stock controller (thanks fried cat).
So two days ago I thought I saw a flaw in mmpool.org's method of running the pool.  The pool is small around 50th.  I decided to test my idea out.  It involved buying large hash from westhash (a nicehash partner)  I purchased blocks of 30 th or 50 th even  100 th on and off from westhash and pointed them at mmpool.org  sometimes the mmpool.org got up to 130th of which 80th was all mine.
After 30 hours of testing I spent about .75btc doing the tests I decided my idea that mmpool.org was flawed was wrong.  I did raise my btc due if it ever hits a block and would kind of break even if the block is hit soon.  The result I was looking for did not happen.  Sometimes an experiment can give a different result then you were looking for.
I drove the price up from about .0245btc to .0307 btc on both westhash and its partner nicehash.  After I stopped the btc spending price dropped down to about .025btc

I realized this has other results.  I own an s-3  hosted on zen-cloud   and point it at nicehash.
here are scheduled payoffs for all zen gear pointed at nicehash

Payoff are .0307 per th.      now for 1 zen cloud s-3  this means you get .0145 instead of .0095   a gain of about .0050btc so no one would spend .7500 btc to gain .0050 btc.  But If I had pointed the extra hash at cex.io/ghash   my .75btc would have paid back around .5btc  so I would be spending around .2500 btc to earn .0050  now we all know  that makes no sense at all spending 50x the btc units to get 1 btc units for the 1 s-3 is silly a waste of money.

But zen cloud is full of gh in the sky.
the top ten are more then 100th total

Those people would be paid  100 x .0307 = 3.07 btc  instead of standard 1.9 btc - 2.1 btc    so that is around 1 btc extra on just the top ten sha256 miners.  This could have cost zen-gaw big bucks. I like or should I say liked this company or maybe I should say I have had a hot and cold relationship with the company.  They have been very nice to me and at time really fucking stupid.
I am basically an honest guy so I decide to post a thread to them.  I fear they have been robbed more then once by manipulation on nicehash by someone buying on westhash.  I have seen huge over paid sha256 hash and could not understand why people would overpay for  sha 256 hash.  This reason is really good reason.

So I do the right thing. I posted this thread.

I have more to say but I am going for a swim.  Be back in a few hours.
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / I found a flaw in Zen-Gaw payouts that allows for boosting payoffs. on: September 10, 2014, 12:00:38 PM
I locked this will start over

Well here goes I have a zen thread I like the company enough to post a long thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=698679.0;all
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=743152.0

I find they were subject to attack I was not looking to rob them threaten them. I was looking to inform them of the problem. I was told they may reward me which would have been fine although I really wanted my .75 btc refunded that was done for the testing,  Not much more. What happens is a lot of bs ending with 2 return emails.

This is a 14.78 percent.

Well which will it be?
I have a good idea how each one does its magic prediction.   I usually shoot in the middle. But we ripped a 20.86 and a 15.03 back to back.  I do not think we see over 7% this time.  place your guesses here
