121  Bitcoin / Mining support / Wifi On Antminer S5 on: January 29, 2015, 10:40:55 PM
So the S5 uses a BeagleBone solution but it looks like the USB ports have been removed (from the pictures i have seen I do not own an S5) but it does have the cape ports.

So I did a bit of researching and found this

http://boardzoo.com/index.php/beaglebone/bone-tiwi-ble-chip.html#.VMq2JdLF9KI

Now i know it would be cheaper to do a lan to wifi but this would ellminate all cables and just a neat project.

One of the issues is that it says it supports only beaglebone and not beaglebone black on this cape, does anyone know what kind the Antminer S5 is using?
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Topic about guy drunkenly sending 20btc - Coins came from bitstamp hack on: January 28, 2015, 06:44:04 PM
So this thread here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938228.80

I followed the tax ID and found it was sketchy followed it more and these coins come from the bitstamp hack, we need to find out where and how he got these because he knows nothing about bitcoin and is very sketchy.

Here is the chain

Where did you get your coins from, it looks like they went through a mixer and a really long chain of sketchy transactions.

It may sound tin foil hatty but I am pretty sure something else is going on here, seems like a PR stunt for someone.

These coins originate from the Bitstamp hack.

123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is dead! RIP 1/25/15 on: January 26, 2015, 04:28:29 AM
BITCOIN IS DEAD! With it's rapid increase in price it is not stable and can not be used as a measure of wealth because it might be worth more in 1 day. Lets all just pack it up and sell our coins to me.

Seriously though two weeks ago it was dead, this happens with crypto if you're new now this is your lesson, don't have a weak hand a fold. Crypto is new and going to be a lot more valuable in the coming years.
124  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Technobit 4M 400gh Miner (Can be overclocked) 100$ (US) on: January 15, 2015, 10:19:56 PM
I am selling a Technobit 4m Miner, it has 4 of the Artic 7 cpu coolers that are worth the 100$ alone, this miner is overclockable and can mine 430+. I am wanting to do escrow, the miner runs 100% and is a good miner but my wife isn't too happy with the mining in the apartment. So i am looking for 100$ in BTC which is currently 0.4784. I will also throw in the flashed TP-LINK (which is like 40$ on it's own) for free but I am looking for buyer to pay for shipping since i am kinda losing my butt on this. It can be underclocked if worried about electric prices and profit to a .8-.7w a gh at 300-330 ghash.

PM me for details, looking to get rid of this ASAP.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin - Currency? Commodity? on: January 13, 2015, 10:47:12 PM
I see A lot of people arguing about Bitcoin today mostly due to the price change, which half saying it's dying and the other half saying now is the time to buy more.
Then out of this we have the ones who are angry at the holders and think the only way for a future for Bitcoin is to use it as a currency and others who think the using it as a currency just lowers the value.

Now here is the thing, I buy and stack silver the prices swing and people complain about manipulation and that the price is so low that miners have stopped until the price goes up and this will cause sacristy. Now this is a fear with a lot of commodities that the price goes down and people will stop drilling, mining, harvesting because they can't make a profit producing it. Does this sound familiar to you?

Bitcoin is a commodity, and like gold and silver it used as a currency but it has advancements over it. Bitcoin is ultra divisible and easy to transport, no worries on counterfeits which makes it great for a currency but since it is a commodity it is still volatile and will always be.

People on here are acting like everything about Bitcoin is new and there is no history to look back on but I think you can look at other commodities and learn a bit, and this is Bitcoin will have it's up's and low's, Bitcoin will have time when some miners stop and that's natural, Bitcoin will be needed/wanted more in countries at a given time. Like gold and silver countries will try and put laws in that won't stick.

TL;DR
BITCOIN is just like Gold and Silver in nature but actually usable on a global scale and usable as a transfer of wealth and possibly a day to day currency.
126  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB 35$ worth of Bitcoin via PayPal - Not a noob or scammer: Details inside! on: January 04, 2015, 02:25:35 AM
I have 35$ via paypal and i want to turn it into bitcoin, I am willing to do escrow or you send btc first since I been scammed before. I would like to do preev price. Let me know if your willing to make an exchange.

Now why should you trust me? Because I have never scammed anyone and have a perfect reputation, I also make .1 every month off my signature alone (requires perfect reputation) Why would i ruin that over 35$.

My Trust isn't that high though? Well I have actually made a decent number of good transactions here but people don't always give you trust for perfect transactions. Kind of like when you go to a restaurant and have a great time you don't always review it online but if it was a nightmare you will.

Why won't you send Paypal first? You can check on here I was buying via paypal and scammed 50$, I did get it back but it was a large pain and a headache, I will send first if it is a reputable user though who is trusted.

Escrow? We can definitely do escrow

Why are am I buying Bitcoin? Just got some paypal money from selling wow gold and thought it'd be good to put it in my favorite interest Bitcoin, I probably won't hold it but be a fool and buy some cloud hashrate.

ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL PLEASE POST! Thanks!
127  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Mining Hardware.... Slump? on: November 18, 2014, 07:07:13 PM
Is home mining hardware in a slump or going the way of the landline? It seems like all the asic manufacturers have turned to mining themselves and are not producing at home miners anymore. This subforum used to have new miners announced weekly it seemed and I haven't seen an announcement in some time now, is it just a lull or a is there something more to this? Just looking for some input maybe I am just misguided but it sure seems slow around here.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Next Hashlet Prime Algo is Scrypt N? on: October 29, 2014, 01:07:31 PM
Okay so the GAW Ceo had made a statement saying they had recently purchase 5Petahash worth of Hardware from Bitmain, now we all know how business works and the basics of it, so when you see that Bitmain has been developing a scrypt system (and we all know how much Gaw mines with scrypt) the L1 you can easily come to the conclusion that there will be some purchased by GAW especially since these miners are now "Sold Out" and many don't pre-order in the mining game. So this leads the to speculation that GAW will be making the next ALGO that primes can mine as Scrypt N giving a slight boost to profits, but keep in mind that Vertcoin is leaving N algo and others may follow suit.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Best cold storage (digital) found? 1000 year lifespan dvd's and blu ray on: October 23, 2014, 12:28:25 PM
Well there is an vulnerability with USB drives as we have found out and disc only have a lifespan of about ten years.

Although I saw something today that might just be the best for digital storage of a wallet.

mdisc

http://www.mdisc.com/

1000 year rated dvd's where the files are written to "stone" and it will play in most drives where as the blue ray disc will play in all, better yet they aren't that expensive.

They are more durable then regular disc and can take a beating but just still can't be bent in half without snapping, there isn't much more you can ask for in a long term disc. This seems to be perfect for people wanting to people their wallet data or private keys on a disc.
130  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Antminer C1 Resales on: October 22, 2014, 09:48:13 PM
So these are being released quite soon, now these are liquid cooled but the cooling is sold seperately and not installed.

Now these are selling at 1btc each, what prices do you think we will see these at resalers and how much will they offer the coolers for?

Also even though bitmain is not selling them assembled I am sure resalers will and must have put a price on that labor.

If anyone is a resaler or in contact with them anyone happen to have any clue on the price on any of these for their respected nations?
131  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Antminer S5 Speculation on: October 17, 2014, 03:55:46 PM
I thought now is good time to start speculating on the Antminer S5 as the s3 has been out for some time and an S5 announcement shouldn't be too far away. What chips do you think they will be using or are we a lot longer out than thought? Will it cost high and seem like it's unable to ROI or will they wait until they can produce an ROI'able machine?
132  Bitcoin / Mining support / Upgraded internet and S1 wifi issue on: October 12, 2014, 01:15:54 AM
Alright so i had two s1's running on Wifi, so  1 works fine when i transferred it over no biggie... the other isn't so lucky. I can get it run fine over LAN but when i changed it to wifi and got the ip from the connected devices it won't connect. It says it has full signal but when i type the ip given it doesn't load.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Companies currently hiring. on: October 10, 2014, 12:47:47 PM
I was thinking we should compile a list of all the Bitcoin related companies that are currently hiring since we probably have the highest concentration of possible employees with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency knowledge. If you happen to know a company that is currenty hiring I will keep this top post edited and updated. (Unless there is zero demand for it) If you are from a Bitcoin company go ahead and drop a line and let me know if this is a good idea or if you would like to not hire members of this forum. Thanks!

134  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] HEX4M 400G/h Minion chip (US ONLY) (SCREW IT Now Cheaper!) on: October 03, 2014, 12:46:08 PM
I am selling the HEX4M minion miner, it works great and runs awesome but I don't really have the space for it. I am selling it for 300250$ this includes the Miner with 4 Artic 7 coolers (allow about 80 to 100 ghash oc) and the custom flashed TP link. This will pretty much get you up and running and depending on location and electric prices OCing isn't a bad idea.

I am wanting 300 250$ worth of bitcoin, shipping will be discussed, we maybe able to work something out.
135  Bitcoin / Mining support / Paperclips unsafe for PSU? on: September 23, 2014, 12:21:10 PM
Well i was running my miners off a PSU which was jumped from a paperclip, are these safe for long term use? I went ahead and have already ordered antminer jumpers as I have had a couple of PSU problems and don't want to run into them again but i was just trying to rule out that an issue could have been using paperclips for about a week straight.
136  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB .11 BTC (Paypal) on: September 15, 2014, 07:42:27 PM
Im looking to buy .11 btc for 50$ through Paypal, I understand this is a risk YOU are taking and a lot of people will not do. I don't have much trust but i have bought and sold a bit on this site. (People just don't use the trust system always when everything goes smooth) I have given loans and been an upstanding member, I am doing this because i have recently sold a couple items on Ebay and the cash came in Via Paypal, I just bought two antminers for bitcoin and am looking to buy back what i spent.
I am willing to go out of escrow with trusted sellers.

Feel free to ask Any questions.

Thanks.

I am willing to do a $20 dollar 90 day escrow where you're coins would sit in escrow would a member here for 90$ and the money becomes impossible for me to chargeback.
137  Bitcoin / Mining support / Can't Connect to antminers ip software .005 bounty on: September 06, 2014, 02:33:10 AM
So heres the deal i am having issues connecting to the Antminer S1 software, when I plug it in to the router via ethernet and type the address nothing comes up, I am not sure how to change my subnet, i thought i did it but it still won't connect. I tried connecting it to my pc via ethernet and changing its ip like that but instead of a LAN connection it is a "VirtualBox-Host-Only Network" I think this maybe my issue. I don't know how to setup a regular lan ethernet connection because i keep getting errors and issues and i just want it so i can plug the s1 in and change the ip via that. If i am going about this wrong let me know.
Each hour it's not connect sucks so I am offering .005 if you can help me figure this out! Thanks!

I am a newb with networking and messing with my router so explaining like i am 5 will be appreciated.
