Hey there, I got 11 btc mined at my 50btc.com account. I sent those to my wallet and 1-2 days later, it was still "in process". I emailed 50btc and they told me that they were under a DDoS attack and they couldn't make any payment. They told me I didn't lose my btc, just the balance was missing but once they solve the attack, all my btc would be transfer to my wallet. It's been a month since that happened. I emailed 2-3 more times and they stopped replying me. And now its website says "502 Bad Gateway".....where are my bitcoins? Does anybody else experience the same? thanks

Hi everyone, A friend of mine wrote this book full of zen quotes about bitcoins: ZENTOSHI: Thinking Quotes for the Bitcoin Aficionado. It's a fun book, with humor and deep thoughts about bitcoins. Trying to make you smile. I'll leave you some examples, so you can understand what is this book about: "The nature of Bitcoin - Bitcoin of itself has no explicit nature. Bitcoin is what one makes of it." "The only bitcoin you find on the top of the mountain is the bitcoin you bring up there." "The journey of a thousand bitcoins must begin with a single Satoshi.” Official web: www.zentoshi.comAmazon: http://www.amazon.com/Zentoshi-Thinking-Quotes-Bitcoin-Aficionado/dp/1484028635/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1383700602&sr=1-2I hope you all enjoy. Hi there,
I got an Avalon batch # 2 and I set it up with 50btc and slush, on failover mode.
Everything was fine until today...... for no reason, it started mining in both at the same time. I checked my mode and it was still on failover, not balance.
I turned it off and on a few times and again, start mining in both pools.
after hours like that, it came back to normal....just mining into 1 pool.
what did it happen???
My configuration of workers still are the same, but I was wondering, if it is possible that someone has entered in my avalon's ip and reconfigured it so it can mine for them too?
how can I know if anybody is accessing to my ip? or to my avalon?
thans

Hey there, I got my Avalon batch 2 today and I thought it'd be plug&play, but it is not and I can't set it up right! I read the posts, the wiki, and everything I could find on the internet............and I still can't configure it. what should I do? I had an avalon for 24h just laying there doing nothing I did this: - Connect your laptop to the eithernet port of the Avalon
Setup your laptop IP address 192.168.0.101 Open http://192.168.0.100 Make sure WR703N can access Internet, Configure WiFi: Network -> WIFI -> Scan(select your WIFI network) -> Join Network -> WPA passphrase -> Submit -> Save & Apply for connect to WIFI Internet setup your mining worker: Status -> Cgminer Configuration. Stop then Start the cgminer service (Restart not working. it's a known bug): System -> Startup, Check your avalon status: Status -> Cgminer Status Setup password/using ssh ssh root@192.168.0.100 #
but when I change the IP, I lose my internet connection. I usually use GUIMiner, but it doens't recognize the avalon. Tried Bitminter.....nothing, it doesn't get the avalon either. Please, please, what should I do to make it mine? what is the easiest, simplest, way to configure it? thank you so much!! B.

I can understand a crash.....people panicking, a big amount sold, mtgox lag....
but then, after a storm, there is always a calm and we saw a recovery from $50 to $165...but then again a drop from $165 to $79.
Funny thing is that it took 9 days to recover up $165, and also 9 days to drop to $79.
is there anything I'm missing? did it happen something in the world that is affecting the drop of btc (and I'm not aware of that)?
are people abandon slowly the btc and it will drop more?
what do you guys think?
thx! A.

Hi everyone, A friend of mine wrote this book full of zen quotes about bitcoins: ZENTOSHI: Thinking Quotes for the Bitcoin Aficionado. It's a good way to think peacefully in this moment of crash, when we need it the most. It's a fun book, with humor and deep thoughts about bitcoins. Trying to make you smile and think what is your final purpose with btc. I'll leave you some examples, so you can understand what is this book about: - "The nature of Bitcoin - Bitcoin of itself has no explicit nature. Bitcoin is what one makes of it."

Hi there, I just wanted to share with all of you what I was doing for me to keep a record. I think is interesting to see how everything is changing. Some people are interested only in how much the bitcoin worths with the dollar. But I think it's in important to see how the difficulty and some pools are changing too. From when I started in this btc world, 10-5-12 to now 4-5-13 (6 months), difficulty has increased more than 4.6 million (151.19%) and the btc grew $128.14 (996.50%). As a curiosity: from 3-27-13 to 4-5-13 (9 days), difficulty has increased almost 1 million (14.59%) and the btc grew $53.4 (60.95%). These are the statistics:10 (Oct) / 5 / 12 BitMinter work rate: 1.65 TH/s Difficulty: 3,054,627.52 Rate: $ 12.859 10 / 8 / 12 BitMinter work rate: 1.53 TH/s Difficulty: 3,054,627.52 Rate: $ 11.059 10 / 26 / 12 BitMinter work rate: 1.89 TH/s Difficulty: 3,072,321.73 Rate: $ 9.740 (the lowest I saw, I should have bought all the btc I could at that time ) 11 / 05 / 12 BitMinter work rate: 2.05 TH/s Difficulty: 3,304,356.39 Rate: $ 10.689 12 / 11 / 12 BitMinter work rate: 1.64 TH/s Difficulty: 3,370,181.79 Rate: $ 13.638 3 (March) / 25 / 13 - BitMinter work rate: 2.10 TH/s Difficulty: 6,695,826.2826 Rate: $ 75.083 3 / 27 / 13 BitMinter work rate: 2.10 TH/s 50BTC work rate: 7.485 TH/s (added a new pool) Difficulty: 6,695,826 Next difficulty (estimate): 6,868,582 Rate: $ 87.600 4 / 5 / 13 BitMinter work rate: 2.89 TH/s 50BTC work rate: 6.285 TH/s Difficulty: 7,673,000 Next difficulty (estimate): 7,657,969 Rate: $ 141.00 Hope you find this interesting thanks!

(Before posting I read, googled and searched on this forum to see if any of you had the same problem, and some of you have similar issues but none was solved. So I hope you can help me out)Hi there I have GUIMiner v2012-12-03 and I was mining, happily, at 600MH/s, but in these past days, it's mining at 700Kh/s (less than 1Mh). I have an ATI HD 7970 on Windows 7. I was mining in 3 pools, 50BTC, Deepbit and Mt.Red. Some of them says "Connection Problems" and those that connects are mining really low. First, I found this solution: You may want to check task manager, last time that happened to me i found that two instances of the miner software were running on the same card, one reporting to GUIminer, one not. Check for two or more instances of poclbm.exe, kill both, restart gui miner.
Also make sure your time is set to the correct time. Even if your computers clock is off by a few minutes it can cause problems. For Win7: right click clock -> Adjust Date/Time -> Internet Time tab -> Change Settings... -> Make sure box is checked and Update Now -> Click OK. I did it, and I found I had like 9 poclbm.exe. Killed them all, adjusted my clock and it worked! only for a few minutes. Then I went down again. I added a new pool, maybe it was a pool issue. I added Slush. And it worked! but again, for a few minutes. Don't know what else to do! I have an avalon coming and it may not work because of the pools, or GUIminer, or both, or maybe my pc. What do you guys think it may be the problem? Maybe my graphic card is tired of mining? (I bought it last September) Does anybody else have the same issue? thanks! B. Edit: I just downloaded BitMinter, and so far, so good. It's working at 620Mh/s. So it is not the graphic card issue.

Hi guys, After reading a lot here, it seems we are related in some way or other (besides our love for btcs ) I mean, for what I read, it seems we all share the same profile in some degree. I don't want to classify anybody, but I thought it was kind of funny how we all share some of the same interests. Bitcoin User Profile:- Nerd
- Smart
- Geek
- 90% Men
- 70% age range 20-40 years
- Speak English (first or second language)
- Think more anarchical
- Like to be anonymous
- Not religious
- Like conspiracy theories
- Use more Android devices
Added:- Knows Linux
- Comfortable with taking unusually large risks
- Open to patiently listening/reading about unpopular ideas
- Doesn't listen to much if anything from main stream medias. (TV)
- Ron Paul supporter or appreciates what he says about America
*I will edit the list according to your suggestions

Hi
I was thinking a lot lately about how bitcoin allows being anonymous. And that's great. But in some websites like pools or bitmit you have to sign up while in some others you don't need registration like bitvisitor.
So I was curious of what you think about that.
Let's say for example if I make a website to win bitciks

I wish I knew how to create a new cryptocurrencies so I can create the GOKUS and if something is expensive, I can say: That doesn't sound the same with dollars or bitcoins. Only works with GOKU

Hi, I've still kind of new in this digital currency world. I just discovered Bitcoin and now I found many other cryptocurrencies. My questions are.... *. Is it worth it to mine in other currencies besides bitcoins? *. Wouldn't be better if we only use only 1 instead of 8? *. Does it (having other currencies) weaken bitcoins? I do respect other currencies and their followers, it's just I don't understand this "new world" yet. May anybody tell me the advantage? Thanks!!

I'm just curious to see people's preferences.

Hi guys, I was introduced to Bitcoins last September. I didn't know anything about that and I started studying more about that. I also found this forum and learned A LOT from you guys, so, to thank you all and to give back, I thought about doing a small summary of what I have learned so maybe new guys can find this helpful. I will post a lot of links from outside and to my own posts, so people with the same doubts that I had can look for the answers that I got there and maybe that may answer their question too. I learned: - In September 2012, the very first thing I learned was from this video (like many of us
) : http://youtu.be/Um63OQz3bjo and this website: http://www.weusecoins.com/ - My friend introduced me to my first wallet and my first pool: http://bitcoin.org/ and http://bitminter.com/
- I still didn't know what I was doing.
- This amazing post resolve 99% of your doubts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=9430.0
- At the end September I found out that mining as we know it (or as I just knew) was about to end thanks to the ASIC machines. I didn't know what mining was and less idea of what ASIC was. So I started reading about that and I find many companies like Butterfly Labs, Avalon and BTCFPGA (http://bitcoinmagazine.com/tag/asic/)
- I learned how awesome this forum is, willing to help a new guy like me
 - I was still learning how to mine, so I asked in this forum about that (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114723.msg1236829#msg1236829) and they told me about pools, mining and I ended upgrading my graphic card
(you can compare the speed of mining here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison and you can calculate how many bitcoins here: http://tpbitcalc.appspot.com/) - I found out all the pools out there (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104664.0)
- In October I was looking for rigs to mine (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114823.msg1238027#msg1238027) because I found this video: http://youtu.be/eLt8Se3vVNg
- Then I didn't understand why pay fees when mining, but this forum was even greater than what I thought
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=115260.msg1242456#msg1242456 - So once I learned about mining, I download GUIminer and I started mining in 3 pools at the same time (https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=3878.0)
- After 40 days I mined my first bitcoin
YAY! now, I wanted to know what I can do with that and I found places to buy with bitcoins like www.bitmit.net - I wanted to control my mining from my cellphone and I found Bitcare very useful (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cryptcoins.btcare&hl=en), and also Bitcoin Wallet to have a new wallet in your phone (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImRlLnNjaGlsZGJhY2gud2FsbGV0Il0).
- I wanted to buy more bitcoins, didn't know where. Dwolla https://www.dwolla.com/ and Mt.Gox https://mtgox.com/ were there for me. I found out that Dwolla is a pain in the ass. I had to wait 3 weeks to verify me and 3-5 days every time to make a deposit. But besides that, it works...althought I found this today: http://codinginmysleep.com/dwolla-begins-suspensions/
- People who likes bitcoins don't usually likes PayPal
- I also found places where they give bitcoins away...for free!
http://makebitcoinsfast.com/ and http://earnbitcoin.wikidot.com/ - I was new and happy until I found what a block is and how it dropped from 50BTC to 25BTC https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Blocks and http://blockchain.info/
- You can know when the new block will happen: http://bitcoinclock.com/
- More companies started to use bitcoins like WordPress (http://www.forbes.com/sites/jonmatonis/2012/11/16/whats-your-bitcoin-strategy-wordpress-now-accepts-bitcoin-across-the-planet/). You can even buy a house with btc!
http://bitcoinmagazine.com/where-to-spend-your-bitcoins/ - Cool sites that I still don't understand like: http://cognitivemining.com/ or http://bitcoinstatus.rowit.co.uk/
- The biggest wallet so far had more than 613,000 BTC and its own site (http://1dkybekt5s2gdtv7aqw6rqepavnsryhoym.com/)
- You can watch how bitcoins are going higher or lower in sites like here: http://bitcoinwatch.com/ and http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/
- That a guru of Gold and Silver, is accepting Bitcoins in his web: http://mogamboguru.blogspot.com/
- They have more names than just bitcoins... Sub-units of a bitcoin such asmillibitcoins ("Millies") or microbitcoins ("Mikes"). The Bitcoin protocol uses a base unit of one hundred-millionth of a Bitcoin ("a Satoshi")

- Blogs keep growing to understand better about bitcoins: http://www.thebitcointrader.com/
- I learned the hard way that if you have several wallets in your Bitcoin Wallet in your phone, it can crash and lose money. Be careful. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137785.msg1468748#msg1468748
- You can have multiples wallets in your computer thanks to: https://multibit.org/
- I thought a fork was for eating, but there are more
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136802.msg1457287#msg1457287 - There is no flaws in bitcoins: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136740.msg1456910#msg1456910
- Also, if you sign your account of the forum with your wallet, your nickname would be attached to it, always: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137667.msg1467500#msg1467500
- You must create a SECURE wallet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=17240.0
And that's it so far. I'm still learning but I can see how much I have learned in just 4 months. I got my wallets secured, with many bitcoins and waiting for an asic. I hope this post can help anybody. Thank you guys! All the best.

I was checking my wallet in http://blockchain.info/why is my nickname (Bitconian) connect to my wallet? I thought that this was completely anonymous and with my nickname, someone could trace my ip and find who I am. I check some other wallets from others fellows of this forum and I also saw their nicknames connects to the transfers to their wallets. Why is that? why is (in some way) connect this forum (or the nicknames) with ours wallets? thanks

Hi I have the app Bitcoin Wallet ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet&hl=en ) for android. I have 3 wallet address over there. One thing I don't like is that it combines the balance of the 3 of them. I cannot know how much I have in each one. I tried to send the total amount to my wallet in my computer. But the program crashes. I thought that maybe it cant sent from 3 wallets at the same time. I checked my wallets in the blockchain and I can see how much each wallet has. I tried to transfer the money between each wallet to one wallet, all of them inside the app and with the app. But still crashes. Am I losing that money? I can't send, transfer or anything. Please help! thanks B.

Hi I'm looking for a freelance app programmer (iPhone & Android and maybe Windows phone) I won't give away much details. Once we agree on a price, we can discuss the rest. Looking for a programmer experienced with bitcoins. The app must be able to create wallets and received and send payments. (but this is not a wallet app). I have pretty clear what I want, but I have no idea of what knowledge a programmer for btc apps should have, so any advice is always welcome. Thanks

Last night I dreamed that the bitcoin drops to $4/BTC (now it's $15 yay ) and I saw (in my dreams) many reactions, some sold all their btc because they thought that btc was a failure, some others bought more, some others just held. What would you do if tomorrow the btc is at $4?
