Will Nigel Farage create the third revolution in the UK to overthrow the ruling classes. King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta as a result of a revolt by the population. Oliver Cromwell started a civil war to overthrow corruption and repression in the ruling classes. If one believes that everything in life is cyclic in character, then the third cycle must be ready to peak.

We've had sock puppets for quite a long time, but now that I've returned from a period of low activity, I've noticed a new breed of alts. These are the frock puppets who seem to post like a bunch of schoolgirls, and even resort to crying on occasions.

As this is the complete opposite of JackG's thread, I thought I had better start a new one for the topic. I've been using Windows for quite a few years, and I've become comfortable with quite a few programs that rely on the Windows OS. However, I have become increasingly distressed with the current Microsoft policies, and they seem to be in the forefront of the control and monitoring of people's behaviour. I experimented with a few Linux variants, and I decided that the Cinnamon version of Linux Mint would create the least amount of work to complete the shaking off of the Windows shackles.
I removed the HDD from my notebook, and replaced it with a 2Tb SSD. Reluctantly I bought this through Amazon, and I feel bad about this, as I believe Amazon to be a destructive force. However, the price saving and convenience ( for me ) were so far ahead of any alternatives, that I decided that it is better to take advantage of the globalists, rather than trying to fight them in every area. The disk exchange was extremely simple ( remember to remove the battery and disconnect from the electricity grid ), and I bought a cheap USB case for the old drive. This allows me to access all of the old files. I installed Mint by flashing a USB stick with an ISO image, and booting the notebook from that. You may have to change the BIOS to allow this ( I hit the f10 function key during startup to enter the panel). I answered a few simple questions, and Mint installed and started without any problems at all.
Installing the Bitcoin node should have been simple, but I hit a number of problems. I was attempting to do this via the Terminal using the commands. ~ $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin ~ $ sudo apt-get update ~ $ sudo apt-get install bitcoin-qt I was working in a public library, and with my limited knowledge, I was having problems in trying to resolve the problems. Eventually I realised that a firewall was blocking part of the installation. I abandoned the attempt, and restarted it when I was in a McDonalds restaurant. This time the installation was very straightforward and painless. The advantage of having the old hard drive available through a USB connection is that I can just copy the blockchain onto the new hard drive. Copying the wallet info as well means that I will just have to resync the blockchain to be up and running. Core asks for the location of the copied files when it starts for the first time.
I've started this thread in the Ivory Tower to encourage members to move away from Microsoft. Their accelerating moves towards the removal of privacy, collection of information, and control of surfing behaviour is becoming quite a threat to our futures in my opinion.

There seems to be a revival in the interest in bacteriophage following the increasing ineffectiveness of antibiotics. This should improve world health, and reduce the profits of the Big Pharma companies. Hopefully we will start to see an increase in their use fairly soon. They were discovered in 1919, but were sidelined for apparent political reasons. There are quite a few videos around, but this one gives a brief intro to their history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32DAiICOxoM

It would appear the the Soros funded action by Gina Miller which forced a ruling that the triggering of article 50 required Royal assent for a statute. This means that any revocation or variance would also require such a statute to be passed through parliament. This was not done, and it is obviously too late to start the process. Under international law and English law, it would appear that the UK is no longer a member of the EU. I understand a suitable High Court action has been started, and it will be interesting to see how that is fought, and the results.

There are quite a few gaps in my Bitcoin knowledge, and I'm considering trying to start a beginners blockchain so that I can learn about mining, including cpu, gpu and asic. Ir shouldn't require much time or storage, and it would gives us a chance to play with hard forks and other elements in the Bitcoin economy. I understand the purpose of the testnet, but I think that is designed for project development, than for beginners experimentation.

Is this video some sort of joke, or maybe it is Russian misinformation propaganda. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGyPl9vJMcsThe camouflage stuff is the wrong colour and pattern. They are training to fight in freezing conditions, and the puddles don't contain any ice. They don't have proper clothing either, and they can't start and maintain cooking fires. I reckon I know more that they do, and I haven't had any training. At least I know that in sub-zero temperatures, you have to be able to resist the need to pee, as peeing reduces the core body temperature. I bet all that is second nature to the Russian soldiers. Why aren't they training in Alaska anyway? Iceland, despite its name, must be a doddle with all the hot springs there.

I've just received this alert from the Nationwide. https://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accounts/landing-page/strong-customer-authentication#headingtag1It would appear that the banks in the UK are tightening up even more with regards to account management. The obligation to enter your date of birth seems to be a bit of an odd requirement, and easy to uncover if one is attempting fraudulent operations. I'm considering removing my DoB from all of my forum profiles everywhere. Also, they seem to be pushing their banking apps, and those are not something I wish to install in my computers.

I'm getting a bit discouraged. Every now and again I try to start a topic for discussion, but often they don't seem to attract much of a response. So if we leave out the primary topics of Bitcoin technicals and help, and board maintenance such as ban appeals, what would you like to see discussed in the Bitcoin Talk forum that doesn't appear regularly? We can skip the underworld topics like bounty and ICOs as well.

What a load of treasonous deceitful animals they are. We need to get rid of most of them as soon as possible. They keep saying that nobody wants the real Brexit we voted for, but that is what everybody I speak to is demanding.
Well she lost 242 for her rubbish deal, and 391 against. Tomorrow they vote to see if they take the thing the people voted for off the table.

Macron is starting a tour of France's colonies in Africa, but is he too late? China has been investing in African infrastructure, and financing commercial enterprises. France just seems to have been supplying weapons, and extracting minerals - they are dependent on the Gabon for Uranium for example. Just as a side note, the US has sentenced Samuel Mebiame a dual nationality French/Gabon citizen to 24 months in prison for conspiring to pay bribes in contravention of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. I'm not sure why the US feels it has jurisdiction over this.
It will be interesting to see if Macron can recover influence in countries where many of the population is learning Mandarin instead of French.

But his offence budget, and the wall budget are to be increased. When will Washington start to give it's colonies like the bankrupt California some support, and stop wasting the American tax payers' money on regime changes and banking and pharma profit increases?

I started a thread about the first ham radio transaction using the Lightning netwoork, and how that could help us to make Bitcoin transfers without access to the Internet. The recent loss of Internet access in much of Venezuela has brought this topic to the fore again, and it seems there are other solutions. One of which is txTenna - https://github.com/MuleTools/txTennaI rhink that this is something that we should be discussing in Bitcoin Talk, and I would be interested in being a part of any project that may be started here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agZ0xISi40EThis was published in December 2007, and it makes you wonder why the EU and the UK didn't go for the WTO exit that we voted for. All the subsequent time has been wasted, as we could have been making trade arrangements with the various countries in the EU. That's what we will be doing next month, and the UK and the individual countries will be richer as a result of it.

Most of the discussions seem to revolve around the coins, tokens and wannabe currencies in the cryptosphere. Don't forget that crypto is now an industry, and this means there are many other related projects and investments. Some that I can think of are -
- Promotional items and memorabilia. - Domain names. - Educational services and eBooks. - Programming and software development - Building communities. - Advertising and sponsorship
and probably many more. So what are you doing for the industry?

This video of the Jimmy Dore show is a bit of an eye opener. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HqA02PaAYcWashington's attack on the politics of Venezuela is certainly throwing up some interesting history. It almost seems that the US would be better off if it rejected their slavery under Washington, and adopted a variation of the Venezuelan political model.

I'm a bit fed up with all the whingeing, bitching and fighting that seems to be going on at the moment, so I thought I would start a thread listing the topics that I think are relaxing and pleasant. I've started this thread in Meta to give it some initial attention, but I have no objection to it being moved if a mod thinks it should live on another board, hopefully it won't be deleted though. So which topics should be included? Enlightened self-interest means that I should start with my own coffee lounge thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5106333.0Another thread is by CryptopreneurBrainboss, and it is also in the Ivory Tower. In it he discusses the transition from adolescence to adulthood https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5119113.0I'm only just starting this morning, and I'll add some more as I find them. Fell free to add your own gentle and relaxing threads as you enjoy them.

I keep seeing forecasts that cash payments are dying, and they will not be used in the future. The OED defines cash as "Money in coins or notes, as distinct from cheques, money orders, or credit." It may be probable that soon the use of coins and notes will not be commonplace for everyday transactions for the general population, but governments are busy creating gold coins for the wealthy to use as untraceable payment methods. In the UK, the government has even given tax advantages to users of its gold coins, including Sovereigns and Brittanias. A Brittania is currently worth over £1,000, so it is unlikely to be used in the purchase of a coffee, but they are being used for payments between countries, and for other larger settlements. No doubt some of those will be for illegal goods and services. They can also be used to reduce inheritance tax, as the value of a Britannia is fixed at £100 for the purposes of estate duty.
The interesting question relates to crypto-currencies. One wonders when some coins, such as Bitcoin for example, will be included in the definition of "cash".

I know that many newbies in the Bitcoin Talk forum joined the project to improve their English. Use has declined a bit, and I have been expanding on some of the original political discussions. Bitcoin is an economic tool that is of great advantage to the unbanked, and as such many supporters are critical of control by the Globalist Banking Elite. This means that the project may be shifting towards the encouragement of populism. If any members feel uncomfortable with this, then please let me know, and I will ensure that their Bitcoin Talk name is disassociated with the forum. Should they wish to continue to support the project, then I will enable the facility to change their forum identity and email.

I understand that Canada is now asking people to declare any transactions they have sent to mixers, and this prompted me to look at a couple of mixer videos. One that I watched stated that you should enter your account identity, and that this would ensure that you didn't have your old coins returned to you. Well it may be that you don't need to enter any personal details to use the mixer, but surely the fact that they are keeping a record of the coins you sent means that it will be possible to track your activities. Have I misunderstood the system?
