Hello everyone! : ) I've designed a deck of standard poker size playing cards to commemorate the halvening/halving event, and various Bitcointalk users. The design utilizes a card generator I've been working on to overlay a few basic BPIP/forum stats, as well as provides an AI generated image for each user. The prompts for the AI images are based on the top 10 nouns found in posts BPIP has parsed for a particular user, amongst some other keywords related to styling the AI image. ( Big thanks to theymos for the suggestion on using the top nouns of a user for the prompt. While it added some additional development work, I don't think the imagery I was generating before would have been as interesting. ) Each deck consists of 52 users who are assigned to cards based on their merit, activity, trust, or recognition scores. Stats for all users involved were refreshed and pulled from BPIP's DB on the day of halving (4/20). Some details:QR codes: One goes to the Bitcointalk profile page of the user, one goes to the BPIP profile page for the user. Backs: Image shows a larger brick wall splitting open to a new [slightly smaller] brick wall. 3 extra cards in deck:-A card that lists the date of halving & general Bitcoin market info. on the day of halving. -A card explaining what "MATR" represents. - Joker: For this sort of deck, I didn't want to put up a specific user or person here as a joker (although I had some thoughts! lol). The joker card shows a person who has doubted Bitcoin in the past (i.e. a joker ), whom has just realized the power of Bitcoin after seeing something on their phone. Sample Deck (Printed)https://imgur.com/a/xoMYFfaNote: This printed sample does not represent the set of users being sold, each deck below has a different lineup of users, with digital samples to view in the "Deck Choices" below.Custom Tuck Box: I don't have a printed sample of this since I went with a clear plastic case on the sample print, but hopefully this helps to visualize it: Deck Choices: Description_________________________________ | Deck ID______ | _____________ | Top 52 Most Merit Users, all time. | MM-TOP52 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Activity Users, all time. | MA-TOP52 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Trust Users, all time. | MT-TOP52 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Recognized Users, all time. | MR-TOP52 | Digital sample | __________________________________________ | ____________ | _____________ | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2009-2011. | MM-09-11 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2012-2013. | MM-12-13 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2014-2015. | MM-14-15 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2016-2017. | MM-16-17 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2018-2019. | MM-18-19 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2020-2021. | MM-20-21 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2022-2024. | MM-22-24 | Digital sample | __________________________________________ | ____________ | _____________ | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2009-2013. | MM-09-13 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2014-2018. | MM-14-18 | Digital sample | Top 52 Most Merit, users registered between 2019-2024. | MM-19-24 | Digital sample | Pricing / Options: Option____________________________ | 1-5 Decks*____ | 6+ Decks*____ | Standard Card w/ basic clear plastic case (plain white tuck box also available)

Hello everyone! : )
I'm going to try and be as straight to the point as I can, to avoid TLDR. Feel free to ask any questions through this thread or PM.
I've designed a deck of standard poker size playing cards, featuring Bitcointalk forum users, and centered around the halving event.
The design utilizes the BPIP card generator I've been working on to overlay a few basic stats, as well as provides an AI generated image for each user. The prompts for the AI images are based on the top 10 nouns found in posts BPIP has parsed for a particular user, amongst some other specifics related to styling the image. (Big thanks to theymos for the suggestion on using the top nouns of a user for the prompt. While it added some additional development work, I don't think the imagery I was generating before would have been as interesting. : ))
My intent was to offer this as a commemorative deck of standard playing cards with one (maybe multiple) set(s) of users. The goal would be any deck(s) that are to be printed, would be generated at some point during the day of the halving, then sent to be printed afterwards. I was hopeful to have gotten to this post before now, but time has been an enemy. : - \
QR codes: One goes to the Bitcointalk profile page of the user, one goes to the BPIP profile page for the user.
Backs: Represents a larger brick wall splitting open to a new [slightly smaller] brick wall.
Joker: For this sort of deck, I didn't want to put up a specific user or person here as a joker (although I had some thoughts! lol). The joker card is meant to represent a person who has doubted Bitcoin in the past (i.e. a joker), whom has just realized the power of Bitcoin, seemingly after seeing something on their phone. ; )
The other 2 extra cards in the deck: -A card explaining what "MATR" represents. -A card that lists the date & general Bitcoin stats, which will also be collected on the day of the halving.
Custom users/decks: The generator can handle a specific CSV format, which would allow the choosing & order of users in a particular deck. Although, I can't guarantee every user requested will have posts in BPIP's DB for the 10 noun AI image. Inactive users from the pre-BPIP times may not have any posts collected. There are still ways to get an image here through AI, but this might depend on the level of interest, and amount of time I have to pre-generate and test custom decks before the day of halving, which looks to be 4/20/24.
** UPDATE ON CUSTOM DECKS - 4/17/24 is the cut off date for custom deck requests. For customized decks, I need to get the list(s) together so I can be prepared for the day of halving to [smoothly] generate the final cards on the day of, and have the images ready to send to the printer for each deck.
The format would be (case sensitive): ProfileID,[A,K,Q,J,10-2],[hearts,diamonds,clubs,spades] Example: ~ The first generation of a particular user on a card needs to go through all posts for that user, collect & count the top 10 nouns, send the prompt to the AI's API, then overlays the QR codes, basic stats, and card numbers/suits to create the image that gets sent to the printer.
Subsequent generations go much faster, but I'll need some time for any users I haven't already attempted to generate a card for. I'll need to set a cut-off date on accepting any custom lists at some point before the halving, maybe ~2-3 days, to give me & the generator some time for any new users that could get added into the mix. ---END UPDATE---
Sample printed deck Note: This sample doesn't necessarily represent a deck that would be sold, as the lineup of users could be different. As an example, satoshi might end up as an ace in a deck I create! ; ) These are based on the top 52 users I [quickly] pulled from BPIP's "most merit" list (at the time the cards were generated) to get a sample sent to the printer.

Pricing: As it stands now: ~ * Costs shown are per deck w/options listed. Shipping is additional and should be ~$9-10USD for US locations. Worldwide would be more, but may vary. BTC price is subject to change on any large swings in USD/BTC, the printer only accepts fiat.
For a custom tuck box, I don't have a printed sample of this since I went with a clear plastic case on the sample print, but hopefully this helps to visualize it:

Humans been controlled since the day that they was civilized, the truth has been so heavily politicized If you don't know who's controlling you and killing all the little guys, find out who you're not allowed to criticize Black folks who were never ever actual slaves, fighting with white folks who ain't actual Nazis Controlled by rich folks who use the news to make hate, while elite folks control all the political parties It's a big lie, tryna make you pick sides, tryna make you burn the cities down and kill each other - they got sick minds Big lies, defund the police so that there's big crime, then take away our freedom to restore order they let die Play with people, turn men into women, make the counterculture mainstream to mix up the system Change the pronouns, if gender is a spectrum, so is privilege, I know poor white folks and black celebrities with millions They starve you with a lack of information, and only give you facts through a branded corporation Distort your worldview with an algorithm that changes, based on propaganda curated for your engagement ~~ We can't be free, can't have no peace till we're on the same team But y'all are sheep -- glued to screens -- just part of the machine Y'all are sheeple -- what do y'all believe? To all my sheeple -- nothing's what it seems ~~ Hollywood been rotting your brain, controlling your mouth, you say "Lit", "Fleek", "Bet", "Cap" -- they tryna dumb you down They endorse whatever narrative is popular to shout and use minorities in movies for diversity clout Two sides on the spectrum, but ain't none of 'em honest, took the red pill and the blue pill, spit 'em both in the garbage Being woke used to mean you understood you're a target and now it's having two good legs and never taking a step forward If you agree, it's free speech, disagree, it's hate speech - erase it if it came from anywhere except the mainstream Trump supporters labeled as the racists, but that can't be, Lincoln was Republican, and that's who ended slavery Science been politicized, it's easy to see - a mask became a symbol of which side you believe But you'll never cure a sickness till you cure all the greed, because the problem with our natural immunity is it's free Society is broke and want you locked inside a cubicle, addicted to pornography, liquor, and pharmaceuticals Tell you that you're fat and poor and you were never beautiful, then tweet how much they love you when they hear about your funeral ~~ We can't be free, can't have no peace till we're on the same team But y'all are sheep -- glued to screens -- just part of the machine Y'all are sheeple -- what do y'all believe? To all my sheeple -- nothing's what it seems ~~ If they can't convince you, they confuse you, they want you dumb or dead, they divided you by race, religion, income, and sex Made everybody right or left, the hatred got so intense, if the other side likes oxygen, you'll put a bag on your head And the conspiracy theories labeled as misinformation, it's just the terrifying truth that scares the hell out the nation The system treating you like trash, and you got rifles to aim with, just imagine how they'll treat you when your guns get confiscated George Orwell, 1984 was his last lecture, George called 'em thought police, now we call 'em fact-checkers Government surveillance tryna catch you, they don't ask questions, mass incarceration equals capital for cash investments The system isn't broke, it's working fine, oppressive and chaotic is how it was designed They say if we ain't doing nothing wrong, there's nothing to hide, while their agenda and intelligence is completely classified They don't teach you rights in school, you never learned 'em at all, 'cause they're easy to remove if you don't know what they are The only people you can rule are the criminal ones, so they force you into corners till you're breaking the law ~~ We can't be free, can't have no peace till we're on the same team But y'all are sheep -- glued to screens -- just part of the machine Y'all are sheeple -- what do y'all believe? It appears the "strategy" from NATO & US's actions are going to be allowing Russia to walk in and take over Ukraine / the government, through force, and then will start negotiating to protect the NATO countries around them..? Why in the hell are the citizens of the Ukraine being sacrificed while we freeze some bank accounts? Do we really think Putin cares about the sanctions right now..? Maybe he cares about them in a month from now, but by then how many innocent people would have died? How much destruction will be caused? How much momentum will a mad man gain by such a minimal response to an invasion?.. is a precedent being set? How different will (worse) could this situation be in 1 month? When Biden was asked today by a reporter: "You're confident that these "devastating" sanctions are going to be as devastating as Russian missiles, bullets & tanks?" Biden: "Yyes, Russian bullets, missiles, and tanks in Ukraine. Yes, I am." We aren't even using the full force and capability of the sanctions.. Biden wouldn't answer when asked why he won't sanction Putin today. He did however respond to: Reporter: "Respectfully, Sir.. what more are you waiting for?" (relating to SWIFT/Putin not sanctioned) Biden: "The sanctions we imposed exceed SWIFT.".... "Let's have another conversation in a month or so and see how they've worked out" I'm disappointed. I feel very bad for the citizens of Ukraine and the soldiers of Russia, and it's truly sad to think how many lives are already lost, and how many future one's are at stake. God speed.

As I casually alluded to here, a beta version of BPIP's card generator is coming, but is currently waiting for a new server to hopefully deal with some of the performance/resource issues the current server infrastructure creates. As it stands now, it generates 7 different card designs (with a bleed), and with or without playing card symbols. I tried to mix them up as much as I could, while still providing a general template which the stats had to land on, in the same spot across each design. It displays various BPIP stats on the card, avatar, title, name, etc. (obviously, you can see the examples below). Designs are based on the BPIP website themes. The general idea here is that the designs are generated at a high enough resolution and proper dimensions to produce a physical card, or full deck. I haven't attempted getting any produced yet. I'm kinda curious myself what they will look like as physical cards. Anyhow, there are potentially more plans with these cards after the beta release. A decent thread/poll was started here by Welsh, but I am curious if people are [still] interested. .. which brings us to the poll question: Is it worth it for the BPIP team (a.k.a ibminer & suchmoon ) to devote any future development efforts towards this project? Admittedly, there are other planned features and implementations for BPIP on the TODO list which would be seen as a higher priority than playing / trading cards. However, the discussions for this project started a long time ago, and I began work on it not long after. It is something a lot of accumulated time & effort has been put into. Note: I've only included two full resolution samples below (at the bottom), and everything is currently watermarked. Stats are slightly old, I generated these cards a ~week ago. You'll notice the cards currently generate a hash based on the stats displayed.. with the intent to make it verifiable via a QR code or something along those lines (..one possible future development). EDIT 2/1/22: UPDATED designs Thread unlocked. Has it been over a year already?? Thanks again to everyone for the comments & suggestions. It was a long 2021 for me, and I admittedly haven't made as much progress as I'd like with this.. but I wanted to update this thread with the main [updated] designs that will be pursued, and some samples generated. Still no real professional help (sorry, mprep! ), just the suggestions generated by this thread and many youtube & adobe tutorials, but any comments or suggestions are still welcome. They [eventually] printed out decent enough on my printer, but if all goes as planned, another set will be generated and sent away to be printed hopefully next week to get a better idea of what they look like from a more professional printer. In regards to RPG/CRPG game mechanics, I don't have anything concrete enough to modify the design elements to fit something like this better.. not my forte. Higher resolution (clickable) Backs: (clickable)
Samples below are loosely based on the 'most earned merit' list of BPIP, with some extras added in.. these are lower resolution and not in any particular order. Card symbols are not shown, and need a little work on placement.

After taking random suggestions from the audience... this guy ends up doing a freestyle rap about: 🔥 Hindenburg 🔥 🔥 The Doppler Effect 🔥 🔥 Harry Potter Tequila 🔥 🔥 Cyptocurrency and the Yuan 🔥 🔥 Toenails (and Quantum Mechanics)🔥 https://youtu.be/NdTalMWrQ7c?t=133Impressive, and hilarious.. and it includes Bitcoin, Harry Potter, and Quantum Mechanics. Obviously, I had to post this somewhere.

I forced myself to 'show/hide' a post from one of two people I have on my ignore list. However, when doing this, I couldn't see any of the post... had to completely unignore the user to see it. (And of course quickly re-ignored the user afterwards ) After doing a few searches, I came across this thread reporting a similar issue. The issue seems to stem from the fact that ignored posts are getting set with a static 20px/32px height (with Chrome..) <div class="post" style="overflow: auto; width: 100%; height: 36px; display: none;" id="ignoremessageXXX">This user is currently ignored.</div> <div class="post" style="overflow: auto; width: 100%; height: 20px;" id="message3">...</div>
I think this is something Chrome is doing itself because I don't see this static height being set in Firefox. One easy solution would be to just add in "height: auto !important;" under the post {} class in the main CSS file. Outside of that, I think you'd have to adjust the overflow settings of the div itself to have it display correctly. I haven't really researched why Chrome is doing this but I just recently started using Chrome again on this machine and noticed this issue. (disclaimer: I'm currently using latest Chrome on this machine, and haven't tested this on older browsers, I am guessing the 'auto' height would work fine for older browsers though.)

I did some experimenting with dark themes for Bitcointalk and ended up with the CSS below.. primarily to be an addition to the BPIP extension at some point in the future. But I figured why not release the CSS now? ..in case anyone wants to use it with something like Stylus, or a similar browser-based CSS changing extension. And, of course, if you have any suggestions for improvements/fixes, feel free to share them. I should note: To try and keep the themes 'dark', I toned down the brightness on images... you are not losing your vision or passing out! I've also replaced some of the SMF background images with css-based gradients/styles. And, I've mainly tested these on firefox. Dark Purple (edit: updated)/* additional customizations */

This forum has been around since November of 2009, the merit system was implemented in January of 2018. Initial merit was provided to accounts which existed before the merit system, and merit was provided based on the rank of their account (Legendary, Hero, etc) -- Full information here. I'm curious what everyone thinks. Should older accounts have received initial merit? Did most of them deserve it? Note: When answering, we should hypothetically assume their ranks would have remained (Legendary, Hero, etc) even if they had 0 merit and were never provided initial merit, and that the entire forum would not have been demoted to a newbie status because of the alterations to ranking that the merit system introduced. (i.e. you need merit to get to the next rank) I'm trying to establish whether you believe the majority of users (not *all*) before 2018 actually deserved merit or if the majority of users did not deserve it. There is a good argument that many members who received initial merit deserved it (and maybe even deserved more initial merit), and that these initial merits are meaningful, overall. There is also a good argument that many members who received initial merit did not deserve what they received, or that they didn't deserve any merit at all, and it makes these merits not meaningful, overall. What is your opinion? Try to answer objectively and please explain below. Thank you!

BPIP is now capturing flags! Each profile page now has 3 main new links under the trust section for: active & inactive (insufficient support) flags against the user, and flags created by the user. (The "Flags" text itself is also a 4th link which displays all flags against the user, inactive or active). These links land on the new "flaglog.aspx" page, which can also accept a few parameters/filters. The Flag Log:http://bpip.org/flaglog.aspx?status=&accuser=&accused=&type=UPDATE:Added a new "Report Options" area to provide a GUI way to apply parameters/filters in various combinations. If no values are specified, it returns the full set of flags. The flag log is currently paginated at 300 results per page. Flag types are color-coded, and active flags are also highlighted in red. The additional parameters/filters which can be added to the URL: - "accused=" or "accuser=" -- both use a username.. not an id.
- "status" -- accepts "inactive" or "active".
- "type" -- accepts 1, 2 or 3.
The Flag ID (and " changes") links on this page will link to a (flag.aspx?id=) page which breaks down the support and opposition on a flag, and also pulls through the DT status/trust color/and some other general profile information. The "flag ID" link shown on this page will link directly to the Bitcointalk flag page. Flag History/ChangesThis is found on the flag.aspx page as well. Every new flag that is created will get 1 entry created in this area, for comparison purposes. Every change after that will follow in this log. The flag log page will only show change counts which have happened after that initial entry. After today, re-parsing of all flags to update and check for changes should happen ~weekly. New flags are checked for every ~10-15 minutes. Hoping to have more column sorting options in the future, but we're not there yet. Disclaimer: This is a obviously a new feature -- there could be some bugs. Let us know if you see any! { BPIP } - { BPIP Project Thread } - { BPIP Extension V2 (beta) } .. Why it's grease lightnin!!

Hello, Bitcointalk! BPIP is back in action, but not fully operational yet! Likely known to most, multiple HP drive firmware failures caused BPIP servers to suffer total unexpected data loss, which took the site offline until backups could be recovered and restored. And, potentially unknown to most, suchmoon joined BPIP's development efforts several months ago, and has been a huge asset and resource. Ultimately, it made more sense to move towards a new internal structure within BPIP, which has resulted in suchmoon and I taking over the development & ownership of BPIP, as equal partners. suchmoon has been generous enough to take over hosting and cover expenses necessary to get the site back online. We both believe BPIP is a project worth developing and keeping alive.. but it does require a large amount of effort & resources to maintain, all which come with a cost. With the new servers & hosting in place, instead of trying to resurrect the old site, we've decided to release the new design & parser which had been under development prior to the drives crashing. Further improvements are still being worked on and additional features which are not quite ready to be released are coming very soon. So, while it is back in action, the site should not be considered live yet, and it could take days-weeks to get things caught up and running efficiently.
So, without further ado.. Some notable design changes.-New header which helps mobile views and reduces the vertical footprint. -5 New theme options, including a new dark silk theme and the bitcointalk throwback theme. -Customizable theme options, including the capability to hide/show the background to help slow/remote connections. -Front-end layout has had an overhaul to correct some glitches, and has moved more into bootstrap world. -Back-end improvements have helped performance overall, and many tweaks & bug fixes have been corrected. -Character encoding should be corrected. Searches and post titles should now support special characters & spaces more consistently (as parsing catches up..) -Avatars are now showing on profile pages, along with DT/banned/inactivity status. -Profile page also supports ID's now (satoshi == https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=3) And, I always like to include a few full size unblurred backgrounds.

I'm looking for " Jr. Member", " Member", and " Full Member" ranked accounts that believe they have quality posts relating to Bitcoin which may deserve merit. I will ignore requests from accounts that consistently post or seek information for bounty programs, ICOs, or altcoins. I am not a merit source and my supply of sMerits is limited. I'm going to try to limit my count to 1 sMerit per quality post but will still merit multiple posts under 1 account if they are decent posts. I'll end this thread when I've run out of sMerits. (I'm trying this thread out in Beginners & Help but may need to move it) You do not need an advanced technical understanding of Bitcoin but the majority of your posts have to be related to Bitcoin in some way and preferably not the same repetitive questions and comments that are always posted and have been done hundreds of times. Want to see if your topic/question has already been discussed?Type this into Google: <here is my question or topic> site:bitcointalk.org examples: "Is mining safe site:bitcointalk.org", "Who accepts Bitcoin site:bitcointalk.org", "How to buy Bitcoin site:bitcointalk.org" Explore the results. For those who have no clue what Merit is: Here is an infographic explaining Activity, Merit, and the new requirements. For those who have no clue what BTC is or do not care about Bitcoin: I'd ask that you find another forum relating to your interests. If you want me to review your posts, reply to this thread and I'll take a look.

The forum ranking system is a bit complicated now... It'd be nice if someone made an infographic explaining activity and merit.
A little plain, but maybe helpful. EDIT: *Another update on merit source numbers *A few FAQs for activity added *Modified some fonts/colors. old colors: https://i.imgur.com/RjRPGmI.png

I'm conflicted and need a reality check. I believe I'm more reserved in my approach with feedback than say Lauda or The Pharmacist, and I don't really believe theymos had intended DT to act as a cleanup crew for sig spammers on the forum, but that seems to be where this is heading, and I can't say I'm entirely against it because mods and admins have shown they do not, or cannot, get involved on a large scale with the shitposting/sig spamming. Even though I feel like this type of work should be handled by admins & mods (and I believe they are trying), the constant crap content and one/two-liners in a lot of the larger boards certainly effects the community, and one community-based way to fight back may be the DT system, especially if signature campaign managers are using it as a guide on who can join their campaigns. However, the potential for abusing this and/or the DT system turning into a sort of "good ol' boys club" would be my fear. This is being sanctioned by upper-level DT members who have other things to do
I'll assume Blazed is included in the comment above but I'm curious which other members may be supporting this, or at least how many support the leaving of feedback based on just the quality of a users post(s)? I've always seen the rating of accounts based on the quality of their posts as going against the general guidelines set by theymos for the DT system, so I've always had reservations about going down this path and usually try to find more than just the quality of the post as a reason to leave feedback. It would be easier if I didn't have to do this, but I've always made it a personal responsibility. I'm interested in hearing other opinions & thoughts on this. If you are not comfortable posting publicly for whatever reason, PM is fine with me.

I don't spend as much time looking through signature campaigns but am trying to find signature campaign threads that may be more prone to abuse, for those that may look at these closer than I. I want to feed them into a script that I've been using to scrape data. It is producing interesting results at the moment, and my plan for most of this data is to just post the results, but more for informational purposes to aid in building evidence against potential farms of accounts.
I may start scraping the thread lists at some point to include all campaigns but at the moment I am manually putting in the thread urls, and even with this step, it's a lot of data being captured, and based on what is being captured and pulled in from other sources, I have to manually verify right now until I am confident enough in the results I am getting.
My main goal with this thread is to try and narrow down my scope so I can focus on refining the script.
If anyone is willing, post here or PM me with thread links that you suspect may be more prone to abuse... I don't care if these are active/ongoing campaigns or if they may be over already. All I really need is the URL of the thread.Update 3:Update 3 located HERE (out of room in OP - didn't expect this amount of results ) *Added a few to Update 2 that popped in these results (in bold below). https://youtu.be/CKrsAje9lxgUpdate 2:(still going through all of this, no clue which accounts might be banned already) dfox101 profile here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1678323.msg16890564#msg16890564linked to strasboug, maryvale, marseille, greenclover (in above list) IAMYOURLEADER profile here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2148892.msg21498846#msg21498846linked to RedX, oo Ako to (in above list)

Any chance on getting account names linked to their profile under the "Trust Settings" DT list, including the Hierarchical view?
