Good day everyone, I've decided to share a little bit of my experience and some things that might get you interested and motivated on staying here. I'm doing this thread in here since the Beginners & Help where most of the newbies are in here. I know some of you are getting tired because you think acquiring merit is a very difficult thing. Well, I hope this might hype you up and get started to be one of a responsible member. This thread is not for bragging, its purpose is to inspire you to keep developing yourself because even us we also have been through in that state. Honestly speaking, I'm not that good like the others who are good in data analytics and other stuff but because of being a hardworking member you can achieve everything here.

Just want to share this achievement that I've reached, leet.

I know some of you will react that it's just a simple/basic thing but for me, it's a very satisfying thing to have this number of post. Imagine yourself as a low-quality poster and develop your language skills by keep posting and griding hard, that's an achievement! This is also a big deal for the other persons too.

Achieving leet or 1337 posts is a thing you might want to put on your list too  . Leet is just a slang word of an elite, and I think it's just a combination of ASCII characters (correct me if I'm wrong). I know it's hard to do a lot of quality posts that's why I'm very glad about this milestone. This is only satisfaction for me but it makes me motivated to do more so I think it might help you even it's just a simple goal.  

Next one is about merits.

I'm just a Full Member at that time when the merit system was implemented. In those days, I think it's over for me because I don't have any idea how to gain any merits. Then through a lot of threads that I've made, I received a bunch of merits and ranked up to Sr. Member. Here are the top threads in my local board that gain a lot of merits and hoping this will give you an idea to manage your journey here in bitcointalk forum. I searched a lot and read some legit articles before I start creating informational threads and sometimes I also try if it really works before sharing.

While creating informational threads like these, you will also learn other skills too. The skill that I also acquired while staying here is making signatures using BBCodes. As you can see in the tribute signatures that I've created for our local, I made it for free as my contribution to our country. Signature making is really a hard thing to do that's why you can see a lot of expensive signatures in the Services because it was made with full effort and dedication. There are so many people in my local really appreciated my work and that's the reason why I received a lot of merits during that day.

The point is every effort you will make that will help other people, there will be a good return to it. So what's the point of sharing my experiences? I just wanted to encourage a lot of people especially newbies to keep posting good threads and spread a good discussion in our community. Thinking about the current situation, I realized that we need to inspire more newbies to develop them as intellectual members soon because I know that most of the members here are not gifted to understand easily some complex technology like bitcoin and the blockchain. I believe that sharing is really an important thing and simply letting others to know some part of you. Two Ways of Mining

GPU/CPU

Syempre ang unang unang paraang para makapagmina which is discussed here ay ang GPU/CPU na madalas ring gamiting for business dito sa ating bansa.

Basic information:

Ano ba ang CPU?

Central Processing Unit -  is the electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions.

For short, ang CPU ang dahilan kung bakit tayo nakakapag-run ng programs.  

Ano ba ang GPU?

A graphics processing unit (GPU) is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display device.

So ang GPU ay mas mabilis at mas magandang gamitin for mining dahil mas mabilis ito magperform ng algorithms para makapag generate ka ng bitcoins.

ASICs

Application Specific Integrated Circuits or ASICs

Ito ang pinaka main topic natin which is hindi pa ako nakakapag bigay ng simple information about dito dahil nag-focus tayo sa GPU/CPU. Ang ASIC miner ay ginagamit din siya pang-mine ng bitcoin katulad ng GPU. Ang ASIC ay similar lang din naman sa GPU/CPU that consist of integrated circuits that gives appropriate hash rate para makapagmina.

Sa katunayan, Ang pagmimina ay intended talagang ginagawa sa computers at bigla nalang lumabas 'tong ASICs. ASIC are called bitcoin generators dahil hindi naman sila computer pero they have motherboard and power supply. Ang GPU kasi they compute algorithms kaya naconsider siyang pang-mina kasi nagcocompute siya at nakakakuha ng bitcoin. Kaya kung mapapansin niyo mas maganda ang graphics ng isang computer kapag mas mataas ang GPU diba? because they computer faster. Ang ASICs naman ay computing device din which gives a better performance kaya mas prefer nila ang ASICs kaysa sa GPU.

Types of ASICs

1. Compact miners, or USB-stick (USB ASIC Miner). They are designed for “pocket” cryptocurrency mining at home. Their main features are simple connection to a PC via a USB port and small size. Most popular are GekkoScience 2PAC BM1384, Bitcoin Miner USB Block Erupter, Bitmain Antrouter R1-LTC, FutureBit MoonLander 2 and others. Such devices are not very powerful and can be used in the beginning when you need some practice before getting involved in mining. These devices cost about $100.

2. ASICs for home mining. Devices with average characteristics. As a rule, they consume approximately 600–800 watts. In this case, the body and other parts are made of less quality materials than for professional devices. The hashrate of this type of equipment also shows average performance. Most popular are Antminer L3 ++, Innosilicon A4 + LTCMaster, Baikal-X and others.

3. Professional ASICs. Equipped with built-in power units of more than a kilowatt capacity and first-class cooling systems. Such devices demonstrate the best performance and energy efficiency. However, you should also take into account the payback period, where the power consumption must be also considered. For example, at a power of 1kW, the monthly consumption of one device will be 720kW (1x24x30). At an electricity rate of 0.06 cents for kW per month, you will have to pay about $ 43 (or $ 520 a year) in case of one running device .

I would like to open this topic since para mas maging aware tayong lahat kung sino ang susunod at posibleng merit source para sa ating local. Ang layunin ng thread na ito ay para pagusapan kung sino ang may kakayahan at responsableng merit source. Ang thread na ito ay para na rin magsilbing lugar para sa discussion natin tungkol sa merit source.

Layunin

Upang lahat tayo ay maging aware at masuportahan ang susunod na merit source ng ating local.
Para mapag-usapan ang mga taong posible at may kakayahan para hindi tayo mabigla na may magpapasa nalang ng application.
Isa ito sa mga pangangailangan ng ating lokal kaya't marapat lamang siyang pagusapan.


It's been 2 months na simula nung nagkaroon tayo ng sariling merit source dito sa ating Local Board which is @cabalism13. Since, isa sa mga layunin natin para sa local board ay mapaganda at umabot sa standard, syempre hindi mawawala ang merits na magsisilbing motivation sa mga quality poster ng ating local.  Kaya ko na-open 'tong topic na ito upang pagusapan naman kung sino ang posible at kung may ma-nominate kayong tao na may kakayahan bilang maging merit source.

Hindi kasama sa layunin ko ang magmadali para sa susunod na merit source. Ang tanging layunin nito ay para pagusapan ang katangitanging tao sa pag-apply bilang pangalawang merit source ng Pilipinas. Hindi ko rin pinipilit lahat pero alam kong mas makakabuti ito lalo na sa lahat ng may pake pa sa ating local board. Ang discussion na ito ay posibleng tumagal ng ilang araw o buwan sapagkat tao ang paguusapan kaya't masasabi kong hindi ito pagmamadali at ito ay para sa kapakanan ng ating hinaharap. Uunahan ko na kayo, it's for our future at hindi naman agad agad ang aksyon sa pagpili ng merit source kaya kung meron mang nagtataka at napapaisip kung kailangan ba natin, kung observative kayo sa pinanggalingan niyo, alam niyo na ang sagot. Kung may naisip kayo at karapatdapat na mag-apply bilang merit source, pakilahad at brief description lang kung bakit siya yung napili mo.

Simple fact:
Most of the local boards have 2 or more merit sources, hindi pa kasama don yung mga merit sources ng international section.

I need the presence of all the higher-ups especially the existing merit source regarding sa topic na ito.

Side note: Bug yung atin na dalawa ang lumabas kaya basically i-add na lang both and ayun yung total merit na meron tayo.

In my opinion. Yes we need it today soon as possible na kung pwede magkaroon tayo ng isa pa or isa pang alternative way na kung hindi pa ngayon pwede tayo mag request ng additional (+) merit allocation na meron ang ating merit source ngayon. That’s what I see na magiging best solution.

PDEA said drug syndicates are now using the Dark Web and Bitcoin in their operations.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency is training its sights on the illegal drug trade taking place in the so-called “dark web,” an official said Monday. The agency is considering tapping South Korea to train some 20 personnel for the effort. This is a proof na sobrang bulok at sira ang ating gobyerno kasi sobrang bagal ng access sa mga ganitong learnings sa internet. Ang gobyerno ay may NBI na kayang magkaroon ng access sa lahat ng mga sites dito especially sa mga centralized na plataporma sa online. Bakit ngayon lang nalaman ng PDEA na ginagamit na pala ang BITCOIN at DARK WEB to have hidden transactions on buying drugs?

Sobrang bagal ba ng internet ng PDEA para ngayon lang malaman ang ganitong issue sa internet? o kaya naman ay gumagamit sila ng internet explorer kaya sobrang late na sila sa ganitong balita?

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will continue to address the risks brought about by the growing use of virtual or cryptocurrencies in the country, according to BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno.

He said he is not fully convinced about the use of cryptocurrencies in the country since this could be used for terrorism financing. “I think that is my view. So we will go easy on that,” Diokno said.

My statements about Issue #2

Totoo na maraming disadvantages ang paggamit ng bitcoin dito sa ating bansa at malaki nga ang epekto nito. Sangayon ako dyan ngunit ang pagbabawal sa paggamit ng bitcoin ang aking ikinababahala dahil puro negatibo na naman ang nakikita nila dito.

Ganoon ang nangyayari kapag walang sapat na kaalaman ang isang tao kaya mabilis nalang niyang sabihin na hindi katiwa-tiwala ang bitcoin. Hindi daw nila nirerekumenda ito dahil maaari itong gamitin sa pang terorismong gawain.

Diokno was an educated person pero sana naman nagresearch siya about sa advantages ng bitcoin, sa ngayon kasi wala pang nakikitang advantage sa ekonomiya ang bitcoin kaya ayaw nila. Pero once may nakita na at pinagaralan talaga ito, I think babaliktad ang lahat at tatangkilikin ang bitcoin.

Imo, hindi maganda sa paningin na basta basta nalang tayo gumagawa ng title. Mas maganda kapag organized ang mga thread title para hindi na rin tayo mahihirapan sa mga topic na gusto nating basahin. Katulad na lamang ako na mahilig magbasa sa mga discussion na ginagawa niyo, mas mapapadali nalang dahil pipindutin ko nalang ang may [DISCUSSION] na category.

Ang Tamang Format ng OP

Ang OP or original post ay ang unang makikita kapag pinindot mo ang isang thread. Ito ay nasa pinaka-una at doon magsisimula ang diskusyon sa thread. Ang OP ay dapat nagpapahayag ng kanilang objectives bakit nila ginawa ang thread na iyon. Karamihan sa atin ay gumagawa nalang din ng thread dahil para masabing may post sila.

May mga nakikita akong thread na nagcocopy paste lang ng mga topic sa web at lalagyan lang ng source, so anong purpose mo bakit mo na-share yon?
Katulad nga ng sabi ni @o_e_l_e_o sa aking thread sa meta about infographic stealing.

Simply copy and pasting someone else's work, adding nothing of your own, and slapping a reference link on the bottom, whilst not plagiarism is pretty low behavior my opinion. You see it all the time across the forum; people posting entire news articles, blog posts, medium posts, etc., written by someone else, and not even adding a single sentence of their own thoughts. The same thing could happen with infographics, although it is much less common than the other categories I mentioned. Providing a source means they won't get banned, but I still think it's a pretty scummy thing to do and obviously only for padding post count and/or fishing for merits.

Totoo namang hindi plagiarism basta may source, yun ay considered kapag ipapasok mo sa standard. Pero dito sa bitcointalk, ang tingin sa iyo ay isang low class member na nagbabakasaling magkaroon ng merits sa ganong paraan. Therefore, sasabihin natin lagi or babanggitin ay iyong purpose sa pagpapahayag ng isang bagay, remember it's a forum, lahat may dahilan, lahat may ipaglalaban.

Background of the topic

Ito ang magsisilbing liwanag mo sa iyong topic, dito malalaman ng isang nagbabasa kung worthy reading ba ang topic. Kung naipahayag mo ng mabuti ang gusto mong sabihin, lahat tayo makakabuo ng isang diskusyon at maaaring pagusapan ang iyong topic. Doon na papasok ang diskusyon na dapat ay nangyayari sapagkat ito ay isang forum.

Objectives

Merit Source Applicants of PH Board

Lately, I'm checking Meta kung sino sino ang mga nagtagumpay para sa position na merit source. Syempre hindi ko na pinalagpas at tinignan ko na din ang dalawang members ng local board natin na nag-apply para sa pagiging merit source.

Is there a merit source?

So possible nga ba magkaroon ng merit source ang Pilipinas?

Oo, dalawa na ang nag-apply sa atin for merit source and posibleng may makuha sa kanila or dalawa sila. We are waiting for approval nalang para mabigyang inspirasyon ang mga aspiring quality poster.


May merit source na ba tayo?

Posible, nakita ko ang merit application source ni cabalism13 at locked topic na ang kanyang application. Siguro sa kadahilanan na natanggap na siya as a merit source. Ang last reply sa thread niya ay 2 weeks ng nakakalipas so maaaring natanggap na siya as a Merit source pero hindi pa natin alam dahil wala pa siyang binabanggit at ayoko namang pangunahan yon.

Ang thread naman ni crwth is unlocked, so pwede pa nating i-bump yung thread para mapansin yung application niya. I'm still hoping na maging merit source din si crwth para dalawa na ang merit source ng PH.

If possible ngang meron na tayong merit source, I think we should create more quality posts for the betterment of the forum. Pero dapat nung una palang, quality post na talaga ang target natin kahit wala pa tayong merit source. I hope na ma-clarify kung legit bang meron ng merit source or yung thread is na-locked lang for personal issues? Who knows.

Lately, a lot of users got banned because of plagiarizing some posts from other members and websites. There's a lot of infographics that have been shared here. I'm thinking if stealing of infographics with or without a source is considered as plagiarism?

It's a thing that only a few people can do and infographics are well made by graphic artist, it's not easy to create a good infographic without a sense of art. We can consider it as a thing or masterpiece of the owner, so we should ask for permission to use it in a topic/content right? Another thing is, it's kinda unfair for those who manually design their thread or creating their own infographics just to share info.

Infographics are very pleasing to the eye and complex information can be optimized to understand it easily through visuals. Creating infographics are the most effective way to introduce contents or information to a viewer. Now, Infographics are tools that might catch the attention of a user and the easiest way to receive a pleasant discussion or maybe bigger than that, you know what it is. I'm just wondering, still need thoughts of the others.
