81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins long term Hodling sorting help on: May 28, 2019, 01:54:00 AM
Hi,

I separated these altcoins into 2 lists, can I kindly ask to check whether I got the following lists right:

Altcoins that are not erc-20: (which multi-currency wallet support these coins and if there's no support then that that means I gotta download a individual wallet for each?)

- stakenet
- bitcoin gold
- dnotes
- espers
- experience points
- verge
- revolutionvr
- shift
- xel
- gamecredits
- ubiq
- nexus
- digitalnote
- ethereum classic
- digibyte
- syscoin
- lbry credits
- siacoin
- tron
- signatum
- gulden
- apex
- maidsafecoin
- quantum resistant ledger

Altcoins that are erc-20 tokens:

- mobilego
- bytom
- civic
- matchpool
- wax
- bela
- golem
- 0x
- stox
- all sports
- nexo
- bancor
- iconomi
- sonm
- monetha

I been Hodling these above altcoins bags from January 2018 and yeah I know I have had huge losses since then  Shocked however since Jan 2018 till now I don't know which of these altcoins are declared scams (no hope left in them) or which coins has been forked (which fork is favoured by the community) or which coins have been swapped to a new blockchain/version?

Can I kindly request you to find out which of these altcoins have been affected by this?

I fear that I could have lost even more money just simply by hodling them long term without checking the latest news for each as I was away from the crypto scene for a long time and just coming back into it to check my bags.

Much appreciated,
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / When will Altcoins come out of the Bear Market? on: May 22, 2019, 06:18:36 PM
Altcoins are falling behind bitcoin as bitcoin has come out of the bear market so when will altcoins follow?

Is there like a pattern to this? If there is a bitcoin bull run then obviously altcoins don't go up at the same time however when bitcoin has a pullback in price then do altcoins shine then or when bitcoin pullsback to a stabilised price for a how long certain period of time before altcoins shine usually?

Can someone compare the patterns from 2017-2018 to 2019 now when it comes to altcoins?
83  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger Nano S usability questions on: May 01, 2019, 05:24:58 PM
Hi,

I haven't used my cold Ledger Nano S for over a year now as I consider myself a Hodler not a Trader.

I understand I must have missed several firmwares/updates during this cold period.

The questions are:

- Are my Coins still safe and are straight away viewable when seeing balances when connecting or have they been affected in anyway by Forks or Coin Swaps that I have missed out on?

- How can I be sure for safety once I connect my ledger to my computer making it hot (connect to internet & computer electricity) from a long period of cold?

- Will not using the ledger hardware for long periods of time degrades the hardware components inside similar to a battery?

- Does Ledger still use the Chrome apps for its software? If not is it safe to delete those chrome apps?

- Can I use the old firmware ledger to connect with the new ledger live independent executable software or am I limited to the chrome app 1st if ledger still support chrome app add ons.

- At what stages do I require to re-enter my 24 recovery seed? What advice is given if a user is not sure on his/her 24 recovery seed?

- I understand ledger supports more than 1100 different coins however what does it mean if a coin doesn't have ledger live support? Also can I choose which of the 1100 types of altcoins I can view on the leger screen?

- Will the new ledger live software or new firmware reset anything from my old settings and if so what are resetted? Pins? Viewable currency settings etc?

- I remember on Chrome App it allowed to choose which chain for a coin. Does the new live ledger software still have this?

- Lastly what are the new features in the latest hardware firmware and does updating to new firmware delete and resets everything and requires 24 recovery seed?
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETC Hard Fork and ETH and 51% attack hack questions? on: January 10, 2019, 10:59:32 PM
Will there be a hard fork to ETC called Classic Vision Hard Fork?

What is Ethereum Nowa Hard Fork?

For the main ETH are ETH holders happy of the Constantinople Hard Fork changing ETH from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake or is POS a bad move for ethereum?

Is it possible to do 51% attack on POS coins?

If ETH remained POW then is it possible to be 51% attacked and if so how is it possible to do a 51 attack on a large network like ETH?

85  Other / Beginners & Help / Proof of Keys Event for a Beginner? on: January 06, 2019, 12:06:32 AM
What about the hodler who has a portfolio of lets say for example 25 different cryptos/altcoins spread between dozens of centralized exchanges.

How does this person withdraw all of the 25 cryptos balances for the sake of proof of keys? Is there a easier convenient way to do this inconvenient task?

Also does every crypto has its own wallet to accomplish the above task? If so the person has to download 25 different wallets which is another inconvenience and hassle. Is there a user friendly way?

Finally what about cryptos/altcoins that due for a coin swap to the new chain or version decided by the development team? On centralised exchanges you should get a notification of this in advance by email so the person can make preparations to prevent hodling useless worthless obsolete coins. If the person downloads 25 different wallets then will he/she be notified of possible coin swaps for each wallet? Is there a user friendly way of doing this for sake of proof of keys?

I already understand bitcoin and other alts like ripple and ether are popular and most wallets supports these or all 3 at the same time and because they are popular any future news regarding these popular coins will be on the mainstream crypto news any way. However I am talking about for an example above 25 alts that may not be popular like bitcoin, ripple and ether.

Centralised exchanges seem easier and convenient otherwise can someone explain to me a easy or convenient way for what mentioned above?
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Which Altcoin for 100-1000x returns by late 2020? on: December 20, 2018, 08:59:56 PM
The following altcoins are under 10 cents each now:

top 100 rank:

siacoin
theta
ardor
digitex futures
golem
nexo
wax
bytom

top 200 rank:

request network
cybermiles
gifto
gochain
stacs
bezant
nxt
centrality
credo
syscoin
civic
pillar
power ledger
Tokenomy
credits

I understand the lower marketcaps in the top 200 ranks are more likely for higher return but however risk.

Which coins above are genuine with good team that delivers promises not scam and is more likely to return the most? And also which coin is unique and has real world usage and wont stray that much from its rank during bear markets?

If you had the capital to invest which coins or coins would you choose and your reasons why?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How does an Average Joe buy STO's? on: December 20, 2018, 12:12:04 AM
From what i'm hearing STO's are only available to Angel Investors or Accredited Investors aka the big players in the investment game. These investors must have minimum of $1million to obtain that investor status.

So how does average joes that don't have a $million invest in STO's? Or are average joes limited to dodgy ICO's?
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Which Altcoins still kept its stance and still standing strong from 2017 ranks? on: December 17, 2018, 09:16:27 PM
Like to know which altcoins from 2017 thats ranked in the top 100 on coinmarket screenshots hasn't moved that much from its 2017 rank/position?

Looking at coinmarketcap now at the end of 2018 I can see all these new coins in the top 100 that I never heard of in 2017 Shocked

Some coins that were in top 100 last year dropped nearly upto 1000 positions  Shocked There are known as shitcoins right?

Is there a website or illustration showing the position ranks compared to 2017 to now 2018?

I believe the strong altcoins still within good rank are worth holding onto.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How do you make money on Stablecoins? on: December 17, 2018, 09:06:00 PM
Which new stablecoins are coming out in 2019?

How does a person know that the stablecoin is not a scam and is audited/verified showing its backed up by something? For example USDT suppose to be backed by dollars in a account/vault. Can the buyer go to the vault and exchange his/her stablecoins for whatever it's backed by in the vault?

If stablecoin crashes and dies will buyer/hodler be compensated?

Which stablecoins are decentralised and is regulated by the government?

Why would someone by a stablecoin? Is it because it is more convenient to hold compared to the actual physical thing?

Finally how do you make money on stablecoins on the markets if there are no bull or bear markets or volatility for them?

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Delisting & Old to New Coin Swaps help on: October 27, 2018, 11:28:29 PM
Hi,

Are all centralised exchanges obliged to inform the account holder by email that the coin is delisting or being converted/upgraded to a newer version by a certain deadline?

Is there like a website that shows which coins at what exchanges are gonna be delisted or swapped to a newer version? Website is needed because it simply shows what's going on so bag holders can take action quickly otherwise their coins will be lost after the deadline without the bag holders even realising it. This sucks for long term bag holders and Hodlers who just like to invest 1 day forget about it for the next 5-10 years or so without even worrying or checking their coins daily etc.

Why don't some centralised exchanges do the swap automatically? I thought centralised exchanges (middle-men) supposed to do all the hard work for us.

What about coins on hardware or offline wallets? There's no chance of any notifications at all? Will hardware wallets support transitions/upgrades to a newer coin automatically?

Finally what about decentralised exchanges? Can the same questions above apply to them?

93  Other / Beginners & Help / Best place gives the best interest for lending bitcoin with the least risks? on: July 21, 2018, 06:29:06 PM
Instead of day manual trading looking at a screen all day how can I earn interest on bitcoin? Preferably automated. Like a passive income you know what I mean.

Why do peeps buy bitcoins off localbitcoins.com when they can buy it cheaper at exchanges scam free?

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which Alts did not shift far from their Ranked positions in this Bear market? on: July 21, 2018, 06:18:31 PM
Apart from the usual/typical ethereum and ripple in the top 3 ranks, which Alts at coinmarketcap ranked between 4 and 200 has not lost their rankings that much in this bear market since earlier this year?

Also which established Alts were always at their rank or near their ranked positions for the last few years?
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin 2013-14 Historical Statistics Repeating itself? on: June 29, 2018, 11:07:49 PM
Hi,

Bitcoin had a 78% decrease from 2013 all time high from around $1200 to $250. All time high for 2013 was on Nov 30th. To get to $250 boring volatility it took 1 and a half years and a further 6 months wait to see some uptrend totalling 2 years to wait to catch the slow bull train from the 1st train station stop. In summary this bear market lasted 2 years.

The 2017 crazy bull market started from May 1st 2017 from $1300 all the way to $20000 in Dec 2017 that took 8 months. This is 1438% increase. If we do get another bull run like this passing 20k all time high then new ATH will be $288000 in Dec 2021 then a repeat 78% retracement of this $over a quarter million figure? Isn't this bad health for bitcoin?

So using these statistics is it best to buy bitcoin at $4400 by boarding the 1st train stop departure in June 2019?

I know I will get a reply saying bitcoin's popularity and exposure wasn't as big in 2013-14 compared to now however can someone give me reasons why history wont repeat itself?

I know I will get another reply saying bitcoin died many times in past and survived however everyone knows this latest crash from 20k so how can bitcoin survive from this well exposed crash high from the sky?

Has the 78% crash from 20000 to 4400 scared the average public away to invest in it?

What must bitcoin do to gain the confidence from public again apart from lightning network and store door front logos appearing everywhere? Will it be the upcoming another economic recession like in 2007/8? Will average public able to afford bitcoin in a economic recession? Also how we stop average public driving up prices by 1438% in the future as it's not healthy growth.

My final question is how can bitcoin have a steady slow healthy growth without 78%'s retracements in its future?
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dnotes help on: June 20, 2018, 09:34:48 PM
