with requiring an addition power plug i cant stop thinking it will be power hungry.
liking my 5700xt at 57.5 at under 120w.
but we shall see

They sure are very power hungry indeed. AMD used to get a lot of hate and critisism for using a ton of power, people used to laugh and said you could use the 290x's as heaters during wintertime. With these new 3000 Nvidia series maybe people will start telling the same jokes about 3080 and 3090.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Bitvaluta] [BTV] PoW/PoS | Scrypt on: September 02, 2020, 05:47:36 AM
hello I'm waiting for a month for you to solve the problem I have 1471012 BTV coins stuck in the wallet. I have more than 80 withdrawals that are in conflict

Checking again this thread for updates but seems that this project is already dead? I have coins bought in erex before because I thought this one is a promising one. However, their site and explorer are already down. So that means, this project is dead and our coins are already useless?  Cry

Updates. The only update is that Bitvaluta is completely dead, website is down, Bitvaluta forum is down, discord is inactive. It wont be much deader than what it is right now. Still trading at Erex if that can even be considered an exchange  Cheesy Cheesy Volume is zero though. If you can get anything for your coins I advice you to sell.

As I checked my erex account to know what's going on with btv, seems they already disappeared, no more buy order, no more website or forum. Hard to trust projects whenever you encounter project like this. Sadly to say, another one bite the dust.

Hardly a big surprise. My take on it is they wanted to ride the higher Bitcoin prices, but failed to put in the amount of work needed to get enough people and investors interested. You can't really have something for close to nothing, there is still no free lunch out there. Now BTV coins is close to worthless and only trades at Erex with no volume.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New NVIDIA Geforce RTX 30 series GPUs on: September 01, 2020, 08:17:03 PM
Impressive new 3000 Nvidia cards. Double the effect of the 2000 series? Also the highest cards draw massive amounts of power (use them as heaters during the winter time in the colder parts of the world)? Would be exiting to see if the big navi Nvidia killer actually kills this launch???
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CampusCash real blockchain applications for students on every campus !! on: August 30, 2020, 10:23:17 PM
So Bitcoin is up in the last 6 months and all kind of dead coins get reflated back into life. So guys, how much money are you trying to fleece the poor ignorant newb plebs out there in cryptoland  Wink Another thing, is it going to work. Would it not be better to fleece the newbs with a brand new coin? I would stay far away from this, you can thank me later.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTCZ] BitcoinZ - zkSNARKs 21b max POW-Zhash No-Premine No-Dev Tax on: August 30, 2020, 03:34:55 PM
Just let it go guys, simply slapping Bitcoin in the name and hope for the best is long gone. 2017 is 3 years ago and there is nope for any revival for Bitcoinz. Marketcap now standing at half a million and daily trading volume is not very high to say the least and mostly probably fake.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eBTC | The New (ERC20) Bitcoin on: August 30, 2020, 03:27:42 PM
btc is pumping ebtc will get good attention if developer hope to re enforced it with development and adoptions

Lol how do you think eBTC has any correlation with the king of the cryptocurrency. It is just another dead altcoin which has no use case than it is just keep dreaming with open eyes to see it will survive even there is no active community behind it.

ERC20 tokens are not coins, so it cant be a dead altcoin, that being said eBTC is very much dead and has been so for years now. Kind of surprised people are still posting in this thread as nothing is being done with development and such, also no devs are working on this dead project.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ellaism: Ethereum network with no premine and no contentious hard forks on: August 30, 2020, 07:46:10 AM
I spent some time and hashpower mining Ella last year, what a waste that was. Mining for a deficit is hardly a good idea, the sooner Ella is abandoned for dead the better so noone else wastes their efforts on this coin. Go mine something profitable instead of this one.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold 9,000 BTC After 2 Years HODLing on: August 29, 2020, 10:47:44 PM
selling 9000 BTC at the current price is it profitable or losing? because we know 2018 BTC price is very high. so if they sell at the current price it is not impossible for them to sell at a loss
Correct but if we do base up on the price for the entire year of 2018 then only 1st quarter prices where too high on which if he do sell now then he's still on negatives specially if he bought on somewhere in January  but

if he do able to buy those coins in start of 2nd quarter where it is cheaper specially in December then he  did really make out some good profit on here.
Welp, he probably bought it at the lowest price since he do able to HODL it for two years then he wouldn't waste his time of hodling just to sell it at the losing price. Perhaps, he probably couldn't wait any longer to witness the next bull run that's why he decided to sell it to this price. I wonder if he will reinvest some altcoins or planning to reinvest after seeing the price drops down below 10k.

You do really have the point because someone wont really consider on selling out on loss when you have just hold it for 2 years which basically means that he did able to sell out in profits at least.

You've been holding 9k btc for 2 years that you have bought last 2018.We dont know on why he havent wait up for even more longer since he can make out even more money if he decide to held up

but well its his money and he might be rushing up for this price to be attained then release off his bag no matter what kind of reason does he have.

That huge whale might probably reinvest and wait for prices to drop to sub 4000 dollars again, and heck so would anyone with half a brain do also. Dont listen to all the people in here screaming you should buy whatever the price is, they dont care about you or your investment, they only care about themselves.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold 9,000 BTC After 2 Years HODLing on: August 29, 2020, 11:41:04 AM
People who leave Bitcoin because they are considered not profitable anymore will regret it later. Because what was shared with all of us
that there was a whale who sold as much as 9000 BTC after 22 months of holding is proof that Bitcoin very profitable. And also this is
a lesson for all of us, patience is the main key to successful investing in Bitcoin. Because most people seeing the price of Bitcoin go down
for a few weeks are already panicking and selling it when it price is cheap.

And what exactly is a cheap price. Do you know what the cheap price is? Is it 10,000, is it 5,000 or is it 300? Or do you mean 20,000 is cheap?
Whatever the current price of Bitcoin is (or was), someone claim it is going to moon from there. Not sure that is a good idea, and surely 20,000 is very expensive and probably 10,000 also.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Im planning to invest in Ethereum. Is this a good plan? on: August 28, 2020, 10:19:30 AM
Most people and users on this and similar threads simply tell people to buy, buy and then buy some more. This is poor advice in my opinion. Better advice would be to time the market and make a killing in stead of just holding. The market goes up and down, take advantage of that.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold 9,000 BTC After 2 Years HODLing on: August 28, 2020, 10:16:10 AM
This type of investor teaches us patience, as he finally made profits after two years and was not affected by the great decline of Bitcoins during the two major events, and this means that his confidence in Bitcoin was great, so he did not give up quickly.

If that investor is so great and so damned smart, then why don't we all follow he's lead and sell. If he so great and sold at 12000, why should anyone buy or hold at these price levels? Please tell me at what price would you guys buy, and when would you sell?
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 28, 2020, 09:02:25 AM
Give it some time, ETH just might hit the +$1000 mark in the next bull run

when $1100

Wishful thinking without any grounds whatsoever. Why don't people who throw out these numbers try to back them up with reasons why they think this would happen or not. Otherwise their targets gets kind of pointless. Might just as well state that I think Ethereum would trade somewhere in the area of 50 to 1000 dollar range...
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Im planning to invest in Ethereum. Is this a good plan? on: August 27, 2020, 08:33:26 PM
To me this is both good and not bad, now seems like a good time because today Ethereum is experiencing an appreciable drop in price. You have to think about confidence before buying it
ethereum decline occurred recently the drop is not very sharp, Ethereum's state is still in a state of correction can fall and rise at any time if the situation like now buying ethereum too risky it seems to me

I would tend to agree with you. Ethereum is on a slight short term downtrend right now after a huge swing upwards in the last 6 months or so. People taking profits short to medium term will most likely prevent ETH from rising any way. I would tend to lean towards the risk is way to high right now. I would stay away until prices come down.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Im planning to invest in Ethereum. Is this a good plan? on: August 27, 2020, 02:38:35 PM
Nah. Ethereum swings wildly. I would wait until the price gets a lot cheaper than what is stands at now (sub 400). I would be a buyer in the 100-150 range. If Bitcoin tanks, it would drag altcoins with it down. There would be no safe haven and that accounts for Ethereum as well.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold at $12,000 After 2 Years HODLing on: August 27, 2020, 02:32:44 PM
At least, that is good for that whale because he can sell bitcoin at $12,000 after waiting for 2 years. But I wonder at what price he bought that bitcoin because if he can buy at $4,000, and sell at $12,000, that is a big profit that he could make. The waiting time for 2 years will be worth it for him because the profit is bigger, but if he still has more bitcoin, I think that will be good for him because he can make another big profit in the future significantly when the bitcoin price can increase so high.
That is indeed true. Sometimes I fell jealous because I am not courageous enough to make such bold movement, to hold coin for a really long time and don't allow market slope to affect my determination. Congratulations to this enthusiasts because now is the time of harvesting of what you have sow and took care for a long time.

It's the old buy low and sell high(er)! Problem with that is usually that people start panicking when they see the price heading lower and sometimes quite fast too. They get afraid their're going to lose it all, then they panick and dump. Also people get suckered in buying at or near the top, thinking it's going to moon...
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Im planning to invest in Ethereum. Is this a good plan? on: August 27, 2020, 06:18:44 AM
I am new to the crypto world. Im planning to invest in Eth because i have an instinct that this will rise up in the future. Any thoughts? Help .

no doubt mate, ethereum is the best altcoins for now,
even my biggest capital is in ethereum because i believe with this alt buddy
Did you just put all your money on ETH only? Although you may be right that this is the best altcoins for now but we should not be so carefree in the future when talking about investment. You should diversify your investment and I suggest put some to Bitcoin too since it is the good to invest during this time although the price today is not a good to invest but still my point is you have to diversify your money to minimize the risk of losing everything just in case.

I second that wholeheartedly. Noone expects it right now, but imagine one has all their eggs in only one basket at that one tanks hard for reasons unknown as of yet, breaking you investment into crumbs. Much better to have a broad range of alts, spread out your funds and you will be much safer.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold at $12,000 After 2 Years HODLing on: August 27, 2020, 06:13:10 AM
I think the shock to many right now is that the price of Bitcoin has stopped rising, and for the last week has been in a slight downtrend. It's painfull to some to look at the daily pricechart and see that one has been losing money. Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday? on: August 26, 2020, 12:14:48 PM
No, Bitcoin will never replace gold, first of all they are not the same, so one can not replace the other in any way or form. Gold is a physical asset that has been used as a form of money and status symbol for thousand of years, you cant wear digital assets around your body as jewelry. Also gold cant disappear, unlike your bitcoin in an emp event.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold at $12,000 After 2 Years HODLing on: August 26, 2020, 12:07:43 PM
If it's true, then that would be super worth it if s/he bought those on $3k range and sold for todate price. Anyhow seems btc still good at 11kish, so nothing to worry of this dump.

Nothing to worry about, what do you mean by that? I would worry when a huge whale dumps his holdings. That is a clear signal to all of us that NOW is not a good time to buy, but instead a good time to SELL. Why should anyone pick up the tab for that and other whales that made a killing, and possibly be left with holding the bag with large losses later on?
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news on: August 26, 2020, 11:58:46 AM
Prediction of Bitcoin price isn't asways right. Last few days, price is on down trend and Hash rate is also decreasing slightly. The network is secured but price is not secured at any moment. But i believe this year is the best time for Bitcoin price than past two years. I hope it will hit $15k within this year and Hash rate will also increase.

I predicted it could drop from 12K, and I was right. It already had a huge rally from below 4K to where it stands now in about just 6 months. There are a lot of investors with massive gains that are likely to safeguard some or all of their profits in the recent halfyear runup.
