321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do to recover your losses? on: April 10, 2019, 08:13:22 PM
If you hold an asset that has alredy dropped 90% then I can't really see it would make any sense to sell it at the bottom. Maybe it will resurface to its old glorydays and make you rich again.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take the profit OR hold on on: April 10, 2019, 08:10:20 PM
I have invested in ETH when it was $105. Now it's $176. Will it be a good idea to take the profit now? Or I should hold on for better profit which may lead to less profit too  Grin Suggestion is appreciated.
I would have advise you take your profit now if it was a pumped price that may be dumped soon, but this development is a natural growth and may not go below the price for now for you to buy back after selling it, so I will advise you still continue to hold you ETH, we still have long way to go as regards the value, before the end of the year, there are so many factors that will ensure that the price goes far higher than it is now, such as the expected main bull and some companies that will release their projects this year, which most of them are built on ethereum smart contract. So, expect ETH to continue to.

Maybe it would be a smart thing to take half your investment of the table and keep the other half in ETH. That way if ETH goes to the moon you will still get more profit.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you borrow in cryptocurrency? on: April 10, 2019, 08:07:57 PM
I would only borrow in cryptocurrency if I would have collateral in crypto also. I you borrow in crypto and that asset goes skyhigh, you basically owe much more in fiat. It's like asking would you borrow in gold.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are Mining Still Profit? on: April 10, 2019, 07:59:49 PM
If your country has a cheap electricity i say its a big yes and look for some great altcoins to mine Wink

Electricity is not the only cost factor when factoring in overall profitability. Wear and tare on your hardware is also important. If you mine day and night, you will have to replace you hardware after some time.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: April 10, 2019, 07:43:50 PM
People fail to understand what Grin is all about. But this won’t last forever

People get what Grin is all about, most guys that have been around here knows what is going on. That being said, they might not agree with all that is being claimed here and therefor would stay away at current prices.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on android phone on: April 10, 2019, 07:40:35 PM
Perhaps this is still a more stupid idea, it would be like  creating mining on a smart watch or a refrigerator. In principle, this is feasible, but most importantly - why?

no one will use this method of mining. but who knows, maybe after a while, mobile devices will catch up with such powerful computers because the technology and progress do not stand still.

Are there refrigerators with cpu's now. LOL! What about my old ps3, would that be able to mine with some custom softmod or something? Not sure it would give much of a hashrate though  Wink

comment on twit:

"How come can you 'go down' if you haven't even 'gone up'?"

"when did it ever open?"

"Cryptopia was back up?"

"So I can't sign in just to look at my non-tradeable coins for an hour. Thanks. Good to know."

"It’s been in Maintence mode since Jan 14"

...

and everyone else

When do wallets open for transfers?

They already addressed the withdraw concern - it will open in April.

Which year was not specified  unfortunately Sad .

April isn't even half way through yet. It's only the 10'th of April today, that would give some 20 more days of the month. I would be very happy to see withdrawals open up this month.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coin should I 'mine' with my laptops? on: April 10, 2019, 07:35:54 PM
Rather than mine with a laptop it could be put to better use by installing the SONM OS which will basically rent out your resources in exchange for sonm tokens, which is already listed in binance

I just explored SONM and it seems quite interesting to me as it's currently providing a better ROI to (Ethereum) miners. However, are you sure that you can rent your "laptop's resources" in exchange for the tokens? It doesn't look very possible to me, as according to the SONM web estimator, for my laptop's resources, I'll only get:

However, including a nice GPU to the estimator multiplies the rewards, while including a good CPU doesn't do any good. Overall, it looks good only for GPU miners, not for laptops or computer systems without any nice GPU.

Why not ditch the idea of mining on a laptop and rather either buy a used mining rig or altogether buy new gpu's and setup a brand new mining rig of your own.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP]X-CASH | First CNv8 based coin with public & private transactions on: April 10, 2019, 07:32:29 PM
Most people (crypto enthusiast, miners, or even people not on crypto) don't like KYC. Much more if implemented with XCASH. Yet it is also one of the better ways to avoid cheaters. The dev team needs to balance things out because people might go away or maybe cheaters will flock in. If there is another way to make this coin successful, the devs plus our brainstorming here should be taken into consideration as we are all stakeholders. We want this coin to improve and be successful. We will all become beneficiaries to its success.

There were some notes from the devteam that they were going to change things up a bit some days ago, but no new news has come out as of yet. What will next month's airdrop look like, just the same as the last one?
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 07, 2019, 08:25:56 PM
Why etherum can't trend up like another coin ? Etherum have new roadmap but it's not have effect to price. Hope etherum can go up again

Ethereum is just old news, yesterday's coin, the hype is gone and noone cares anymore about ETH. Something new and shiny is on the horizon, and it's not Ethereum. Just dump it and get on with your lives.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 07, 2019, 08:11:27 AM
ETH is looking slightly weaker than BTC or LTC. But as long as we can stay above the $165 area which is the yearly resistance and prior year support, then we are in good shape.

I think unless BTC itself goes parabolic again and we get a BGD with another $1000 gain then ETH won't move past $200 anytime soon.

Really surprised that even BCH is outpacing the ETH price. No idea what is dragging it down, maybe its the ICOs selling their ETHs.

ETH is below its levels against BTC it had last couple of month. So there is a chance to get to 200$ even with a current BTC price

I would recommend dumping all your Ethereum and buying Litecoin. LTC way way outperforming ETH for months now and likely to continue on that trend. Be a winner, buy LTC.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP]X-CASH | First CNv8 based coin with public & private transactions on: April 06, 2019, 09:14:21 AM
Better a limited growth than no growth at all due to the total failure of the airdrop - which is the current status with the sms verification only. As Zach said KYC is also a bad idea, but adding a proof of bitcointalk account (add a field with bitcointalk account in x-cash profile and make a proof of account post on a dedicated thread of bitcointalk - not the main ANN thread please, or otherwise adding Xcash address to Bitcointalk profile as suggested) would surely improve the situation, of course keeping the SMS verification as well. Of course you would have to limit the quantity of eligible bitcointalk accounts - either by time (only accounts created before the xx day/month/year are eligible) and/or rank (starting from Jr Member or even better Member) and exclusion of red trusted accounts. You may even put as a requitement the need of having a few "earned" merits - this would give another cut on multiaccounters. You will have anyway some multiaccounters also with bitcointalk verification but surely not as much as with just sms. Moreover, people skilled in cheating with bitcointalk may not be skilled in cheating with sms and viceversa - and you'd need to excel in both skills to be able to abuse the system.
On the other side if you keep the current sms only criteria you may as well abort the project since you'd be critically harming it: legit airdrop receivers would leave an airdrop worth a couple of cents (not worth their time) while billions of coins would end up in the bags of professional scammers, who by the way seem to clever enough not to dump their coins on exchanges - for the moment.
My two cents.

As i remember Bitcointalk account requirements has been suggested before in discord but the amount of objection from non-bitcointalk users is more than those who are requesting it,.

Having Bitcointalk Account Requirements will remove atleast 60-70% of airdrop participants, It will remove cheaters but this will also remove legit members that don't have bitcointalk account. Its a double edge sword that the admin needs to think deeper before implementation.

But i am in favor of having bitcointalk account requirements not because i already have an account but to preserve the integrity of the current airdrop distributions.

The best solution would be to have both. Bitcointalk account (member minimum) and the current phone verification system linked up together. Secondly impose much stricter restrictions for non-bitcointalk account holders, possibly full KYC for the latter.

This system would allow everyone to participate and weed out most of the cheaters.

Up some 20%. So what is going on in regards of that price action. Anybody have a clue? Good news, or just a blimp on the radar before it tanks again?
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 05, 2019, 08:39:40 PM
So guys. How long until Litecoin will have a larger marketcap than Ethereum. LTC has been outperforming ETH pricewise heavily all this year. Why do you think that is, are people losing faith in Ethereum?
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: April 05, 2019, 08:33:25 PM

Veil is now listed on BitMesh with VEIL/BTC trading pair.

Trade here: https://bitmesh.com/exchange?market=btc_veil#/

DISCLAIMER: Third-party services are not endorsed by the Veil team and are provided for informational purposes only.

Exellent news, nice to also see Veil listed at Coinmarketcap. I like Bitmesh a lot, it has a very nice interface.

On another note, when will the signature week 1 spreadsheet be updated?

You guys are depressing read. They have not abandoned the exchange. On the contrary, they are working on fixing it and preparing for it to reopen when they are ready for it.

To bad trading at Cryptopia stopped, will that mean the death of Insanecoin?
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on android phone on: April 05, 2019, 08:14:38 PM
I assure you -you can mine some coins on your phone.
If you have a good processor on your smartphone and your smartphone is too powerful-look here on the forum -there are many coins that can be mined using the processor.
Note that the heat exchange must be provided by an external cooler.
It seems to me that it is absurd to get coins to use a smartphone for this purpose? This is a hello for a smartphone malfunction and the cost of the mined coins is unlikely to override the cost of repairs.

It is absurd. People get confused with pretend mining (like ETN), and the many airdrops/scams/viruses out there.

Phone processors are not designed for mining, and are not as powerful as more practical items like GPUs. Practicality is the key here - sure, you can theoretically take an expensive high end phone, access the CPU die, add an external cooler, then mine at a loss on electric costs. Probably would need to improve the power delivery, maybe solder on some new PSU power traces.

But is this sensible? No.

I agree it's absurd. What will come next, mine on your toaster, on your tv? My tv also has android and a processor actually. Mine on your gpu's. If you dont have any, go buy some.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coin should I 'mine' with my laptops? on: April 05, 2019, 08:08:59 PM
The simple answer to that is don't mine with your laptop. If you want to get serious go buy a mining rig, or at least a few gpu's - minimum rtx 2060's. Should set you up nicely for at least the next 3 years.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: April 05, 2019, 08:03:21 PM
Mining grin allmost from begining, firstly with all 3 my rigs, after slight drop changed RX rigs to eth/eth.
But nvidia rig still mines it for 3 months non stop. I believ in this coin.
I'm not really agree with you @tranthidung, you want that coin go to moon in just one year after creation.
At this time it's too much altcoins, and they not getting adoption, so i'm mining like investment, and no hope to moon in at least 2-3 years, maybe more. but i hope for someday Smiley

To bad it has such a ridiculous name. I think a lot of people wont take it serious just because of that alone. Another thing is the massive inflation at this early stage, the coin has pricewise nowhere else to go but down.
