What are you going to do with that one chip?  Make a necklace out of it?
Hey the way every party is handling these chips he's entitled to it, no matter what he can or can't do with it.

I was just asking what he was going to do with it.  Maybe use it as a Monopoly playing piece.

143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow Customers - Consumer Complaints Links on: October 22, 2014, 03:14:14 PM
You're not alone, a lot of people, myself included, ordered an X3 for over $6,000 and have received nothing in return.  Just a lot of broken promises.

There is ongoing talk of lawsuits but so far nothing has materialized.  There isn't much communication from Black Arrow about the status of their company, and the X3's are effectively worthless vs the price we paid for them, if they ever show up at all, which is highly doubtful.

At the moment, Black Arrow is stating they are going to sue the PSU manufacturer for not fixing their problems.  Maybe true, maybe not, but those of us with orders still have nothing.

If a lawsuit develops, a lot of people will join it.  There has been some exploration into it.  There has been contact to law enforcement and various consumer and trade organizations.  Something is bound to happen eventually.  Or maybe nothing at all.  Someone has to have the time and money to push a lawsuit forward.
144  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: October 22, 2014, 03:09:42 PM
Small feature request for the Windows client.  It would be nice if I could reduce the window, and have it appear in the tools area and not the taskbar.  QT has that option.  I like keeping it hidden on the work PC in the corner, rather than in plain view on the taskbar.

Thanks!
145  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: October 19, 2014, 03:18:56 PM
I look at shifts and blocks and I don't really understand it.  Right now the last ten shifts say "Paying Now" under shifts, but it's been saying that for the past few blocks found and nothing has been paid.  Now this might be totally normal, the problem is, I have no idea.  Am I being paid for the work I'm doing?  It's really weird.
146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 17, 2014, 03:08:06 PM
Honestly, miner manufacturers should just have us buy our own PSU's and avoid all the issues of fires, cables, CE markings, customs issues, not to mention the extra weight to ship it out.  If they want to recommend a PSU and provide a spot in the case for it, so it can be racked properly (For those units designed for racks) great.  But stop with the wholesale PSU market, somebody is going to die before too long and that's the last thing we need in the Bitcoin negative news of the week.  Just one man's opinion.
147  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: GROUP BUY [KNC Neptune-DayONE] [.6 Per share Sold Out] on: October 16, 2014, 02:48:08 PM
At the moment, because the Bitcoin price is so low, it's better to buy coins and hold them.  Maybe when Bitcoin rises above $500 each, it might be worth investing in hardware, but the margins are too risky and low right now to bother mining.  Unless you need some electric heat in your house.

Pretty much this if you mess with it...

Out of curiosity, why under Shifts, does the Pay/Hour at 1 TH/s show "?" for the last 10 shifts?   Does it eventually populate when a block is found?

The actual earnings aren't known until a shift stops receiving payments.  DrHaribo made the right choice (one I might copy for my pool) by simply showing a '?', to avoid people complaining about the earnings on recent shifts before they've matured.

Makes sense, thank you!

151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 Upgrade Kit on: October 15, 2014, 03:06:42 PM
I'm not looking at it at the moment, but I seem to recall a small black reset button on the control board.  You might try that, if it's there and I'm not imagining things.  Should be the same as an S3 to reset.  I seem to recall as well that if you're only getting one red light, it means it needs to be reset.  But beyond that, who knows?  Just trying to help.
152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 Upgrade Kit on: October 14, 2014, 08:22:06 PM
Yes, that should be plenty of power.  I put together six of them and had no problems with any.  Some people here had issues due to cables not being properly seated.  Make sure no pins are bent as well.  Of course, it's always possibly you got a bad board, but you'd be the first I heard of.
153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 Upgrade Kit on: October 14, 2014, 06:33:21 PM
Seems unlikely you blew the control board.  Unplug and replug all the cables.  Make sure none are reversed, and all are seated properly.

So long story short we've all been 'scammed'. Honest to god if it weren't for all the scamming and dishonesty from EVERY SINGLE investment I've made with bitcoin hardware and services, I would be pretty close to being a millionaire. Sadly and regrettably I am not. In all I have made a few quid over the years but it's absolute pittance to what I could have in my savings account right now. I'm out. BA you are the final straw.

My sentiment exactly.  I will only buy from bitmain or fried cat from now on.  Every one else has burned me, lied, decieved, disappeared etc.  Black Arrow was supposed to be a trusted manufacturer and minersource a reputable dealer blah blah.  No more trust except for those who have earned it repeatedly over many delivery cycles.

It's a wise move, but the entire exercise is to take a risk.  You risked money here because there were various choices KNC, BFL, Black Arrow, and you chose the one you thought would pay off the fastest and earn you the most money.  If you only go with the safest option, such as Bitmain, you might not get burned, but your profit potential is seriously diminished.  It's a risk vs reward thing.  This time the reward wasn't there.  But if you were one of those people who risked your money on that first batch of Avalon's.  Different story...

Just buy coins and wait.  In some years when the halving happens again, they are going to be worth some serious money.
155  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow X-1 and X-3 (not modded by Black Arrow) Thread on: October 14, 2014, 02:27:27 PM
I'm no lawyer, but my understanding of Chinese law is that contracts are what amounts to consumer protection.  If they follow the letter of the contract, in China, this is legal.  In the United States you have organizations like the FTC that have rules that trump any contract.  But they have no enforcement in China.  It's one of those hard lessons I've learned about doing business with China directly and not having a middle-man (And why Alibaba is popular, because it acts like the middle-man)

China has adopted some consumer protection laws recently, but I'm not sure if they trump contracts like the FTC does in the U.S.   Only a lawyer with knowledge of Chinese law is really going to be able to tell you if you have a shot at taking them to court and winning.  And whether it's worth the time and money.

Black Arrow, There is talk on Ecoin that you are broke - Is it True?

Can we get  some kind of official answers as to what is happenin?

They will just tell you that they are waiting on the PSU company to fix the PSU or the CE to come back for the PSU.  Which may be true, but doesn't explain why the X1 production has ceased.  They are out of money.  If they are still building miners, it is probably the owners working around the clock putting them together, which would explain why they get shipped to Minsersource and others at a trickle pace.  They need a wealthy benefactor to step in and save them.  Or a miracle to happen to the price of Bitcoin.  Neither is likely, but both are possible.  Go ask your rich Uncle for the money, he might be interested in the 14nm tech they have.

I think the problem was that they couldn't find him.
158  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: October 05, 2014, 06:25:49 PM
I assumed server PSU, they didn't say that, but since they specifically said HP, I assumed they meant some sort of HP Server PSU and not a standard ATX.  So that may be my fault there.  It may very well be an ATX adapter.  I'll ask for clarification.

I've suggested various things that most people voice here.  Refunds, Compensation, Alternatives, etc.  If I get any news I'll let you know.

Holiday until the 6th.

CE Paperwork is in as of September 30th.

All parts for all miners are in stock.

Most likely shipping starts after the 6th.  That was not said to me, but I have spoken to them, they are still alive.

Yeah, I have no idea what any of that means, but congratulations to whichever one of you got married or landed on the moon or whatever happened.
