So you mean that you upgrade your POsP of this coin and the addition of BPN will not change the theoretical inflation rate of 2%?

The values themselves are not yet set on stone, but the BPN should follow the same basic rules as other nodes: more running BPNs, less personal gains per BPN, same inflation. You can read more about the current proposal here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=951753.msg20114595#msg20114595.

White paper will be released shortly and explain extensively.

Running a master node should not be the defacto node type on the network, hundreds of active stakers should be imo Smiley

Great feedback, thank you FR

Can you run more than one node per computer?
Can you run a node on a Mac?
Thanks

Yes and yes

I cannot see the voting results regarding collateral for a masternode.  Can someone tell me?

Also, the 2017 road-map has been added to the website and some updates are being made. This process will be ongoing process as the new projects roll out. Community review of the text, links, etc is welcomed and appreciated.

I don't think many understood it like this so we need to create a new poll now. You cant possibly only have 125 BPN's thats not enough...even 500 is not really that many.

This is why I bring this topic up for discussion. The poll is for community input and we may run another one with the evolved discussion unfolding.

Would it be possible (I know asking things like this with zero knowledge of how to design or code it is often pointless) to rather have tiered pos levels.

The tiers would depend on amount of cbx held and duration they have been held for.
I have asked this on pos3 coins and been told that there is no easy way to implement this because the duration held for is impossible to work off for some reason?

Anything is possible and I like the idea. However, this would have to be evaluated at the conclusion of this road-map (end of 2017) along with our other ideas and looked into further at that time. Right now we feel confident that accomplishing the road-map will put us in a position where market price and rewards from dev BPN will be able to fund ongoing development. So we want to stick as close to the outlined path and schedule as possible.

Remember, this 4 year project has evolved and will continue to do so. This space (cryptos) is full of development and collaboration with its open source approach.  Improvements will continue.

In writing the white paper for the BPN implementation, I have been back and forth with the team regarding the current voting poll (cost for a BPN). Yes, a BPN should be an investment and the earning potential will justify the investment, however this is not the only consideration. I bring this point up because the 2k CBX option is presently leading.

The issue I have with this is that in order for us to maintain PoSP and implement BPN, we must split the network coins so we can allow different interest earnings percentages for each function (BPNs should earn more as they provide more services to the network).

Essentially this means splitting the 1 million total CBX into halves of 500k CBX each. One half would be used for PoSP at 1% annual inflation (interest earnings projected from this would be in the 3-6% annual range). The other half for BPN would be at 3% annual inflation so the two would balance out to our 2% inflationary target.

Additionally to make BPN operation more lucrative, we will limit the total number of BPNs to max out at 250k CBX (1/4 of the network). This means that if all of the BPN slots are filled, the absolute minimum interest earnings would be 6% per year. Going off of our PoSP history, we can extrapolate that the return will actually be 3-6 times higher than the inflationary rate from the BPN half therefore rewarding in the projected range of 9-18% yearly for BPN operators.

So with this outlined we come back to the current survey. If we set a BPN cost at 2k CBX, then the maximum number of nodes we can have on the network would be 125. If however we set BPN cost at 500 CBX, then we can have a maximum of 500 BPN on the network and better decentralization.

Feel free to provide any input you want heard from the team regarding this subject.

How much time do I need to open my wallet? Smiley

Your coins become eligible to stake after 1 hour. This does not mean you will get a block after 1 hour, just that you will enter into the queue to compete for PoS blocks after that hour. The frequency of block rewards will be largely based off of the amount of CBX you have but overall you will get rewarded based off the network competition. The network currently is rewarding 15% annual interest on your coins.

Is it possible to have 1 addy as masternode and others addy as PoSP in the same wallet

Yes

What is the required time to be considered as masternode 7days, 1month, more ?

No time requirement for a BPN, the only requirement will be a set amount of CBX (not yet decided)

What is the timeframe for launch or edit of the new version? I understand this NOT to be a re-launch but an edit, or soft fork, am I correct?

Stage 1 will be a hard fork, promptly followed by stages 2-4. All are scheduled for the remainder of 2017 and date estimates are provided in the road-map published in this thread and in OP for reference. As 2017 winds down we will publish our 2018 road-map.

what happened to the 're-launch' date that was posted on altcoincalendar?

This is the first I am hearing about that. Can you elaborate please?

We have not planned a re-launch, we have announced our new road-map so perhaps this has confused some people?

Hi,

Happy 4th Anniversary!

I have been running the 2.4.3 QT on a windows 8.1 computer.

I have had to move it to a Windows Home Server 2011 computer.

Installed the wallet and move the bootstrap and wallet over and all was fine, synced and staking. When I returned to check on things, the wallet had crashed.

Upon restart, I receive the following error via Windows dialog box:

-----------------------------------

MinGW Runtime Assertion

Assertion failed!

Program: C:\Program Fies (x86)\CryptoBullion\CryptoBullion-qt.exe
Files: src/kernel.cpp Line 390

Expression: pindex->pprev||pindex->GetBlockHash()==
hashGenesisBlock

Abort             Retry          Ignore
------------------------------------

I've tried all option to no avail with this result of a new Windows dialog box:

------------------------------------

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

                                                        OK

------------------------------------

I tried to check the Syncing Trouble tool in the OP. However, upon clicking on the link, Mega indicates that the given encryption key is invalid.

Please help if you can. Thank you in advance for your time!

This is the link that should be pulling from mega: https://mega.nz/#!WBs3HZjT!mAnYaJKjsYFVhdA8-WQ_EsvyBytiPJViHp4rI65-CVo

Is that what is not working for you?

So, Using the above link, I no longer get the encryption error from Mega.

I successfully downloaded CBX Tool

When I run it, I get an error from Windows Home Server in a dialog box:

-----------------------------------------

C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads\CBX Tool.exe

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

-----------------------------------------

I tried again first thing after rebooting the machine, I still get this error on a clean boot of the machine.

I tried running it as Administrator to no avail.

Please give me some other suggestions. All OS updates are current.

Make a copy of your wallet.dat
Delete everything in your Cryptobullion Roaming folder (your folder should now be empty)
Download Bootstrap
Run Client and allow to fully sync
Close client and copy your wallet.dat to roaming folder
Run client

Edit : Looks like client may be crashing due to having to process and verify your transaction history multiple times a second as the blockchain downloads.
I've had this problem before and this usually works for me.

Hi Killiz, great to see you!

Thank you for the suggestion, this usually works when all else fails.

Crypto Bullion hits a milestone today.

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY TO CBX!

That's a marvellous achievement, wow, 4 years in this space is a LONG time to survive, congratulations!!

Wonderful Smiley

About the masternode plan, if going down this road i suggest no higher then 1000 CBX to run one, and has anyone checked with Cryptopia, if they would be okay with an injection of coins into the supply.  It might not be a rollback but it is still tinkering with coin supply.  Should also be considered that there also can be unforeseen risks/exploits introduced with a creating a superblock eg someone finding a way to exploit it later to generate more superblocks of coins for themselves.   As well as the negative perception of a hard fork that gives coins to the devs, this could be a complete turn off to potential investors down the track.

If 10,000 CBX are required by the devs to make a supernode then these CBX should come from the existing supply via donation from the community.  This would be the safer and less risk.  Looking at the SPK ico it was able to take in 186,825 CBX, so it should not be difficult to get 10,000 CBX for the purpose of taking CBX forward as there are more users that would support this imho.

I suggest a donation address should be set for the supernode fund and a progress meter posted to show how close we are to raising the 10,000. after which the new bullion nodes could introduce.  This would also demonstrate some real community spirit vs creating a superblock.

Good points digit, we will give the funding address a try. I agree this would by far be the ideal but based off of the vote we had, it doesn't look like the support is there.

With regard to Cryptopia's policy, we have reached out a couple days ago and awaiting a response.

Is there a limit on how many total coins can be locked in the BPN's?

What's the target number of BPN's?

I reckon dev team should decide the parameters, community votes are dangerous, not everyone thinks about the ramifications as deeply as the devs

Yes there will be a limit on total coins. Internal discussions are leaning towards 25% of total supply so once this quota is met, there would be a queue to fill any BPN spots that come available. Target number of BPN's is to be determined.

The devs will make the decisions on the parameters but as there are some variables to play with, we want to hear the communities thoughts on amount for operating a BPN so this can be weighed in to the decision making process.

Thank you for the feedback.

Just something that crossed my mind in the past few days: if we implement the superblock we voted for last week, won't we be risking being excluded from Cryptopia for "changing the blockchain"?
Out of Cryptopia, there won't be any "acceptable" exchange for us to trade at.

Cryptopia delists for reversing transactions (editing blockchain history). This is a completely different matter.

Just watched CBX drop by about 50% overnight on Cryptopia? What's up?

I don't know about 50% (was 55 cents USD per CBX last night compared to 50 cents USD when I awoke this morning), but markets are volatile. I don't think it has to be a bad thing, just means that some with CBX sold to some who wanted to purchase CBX - coins exchange hands. We have laid out our road map and begun working toward completing it on the outlined time table. Some will like the direction we are going but some may not. The trend has been up so far and volume has picked up so we are certainly on the right track.

The superblock is so far a unanimous consensus. This is a critical portion of the 2017 plan as it will insure CBX has funding for ongoing development after completion of our present road-map. This is extremely exciting and guarantees a very bright future for CBX.

We will keep the poll up for a little bit longer and then put up a new one to gauge community input on another important decision. Next poll will most likely be to determine the amount of CBX necessary to operate a Bullion Participation Node (CBX dev team's brainchild of PoSP Masternodes).

Guys, how big is wallet pool? How much I getting approx per stake if I send 1029 CBX to my windows wallet?

Present rate of return is 8-10% per year. So 8 CBX per month would be a conservative guesstimate.

Ok,thanks:) In vault is not visible estimated time to get reward and vault weight, thats right?

That is correct although we will have something incorporated in the next Vault release (step 1 of the road-map). In the meantime you can go to the extraction tab of the CBX explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cbx/#!extraction and calculate for yourself.

Presently 25% of the network is staking the last 1000 blocks so this means that the other 75% of the network is forfeiting their potential earnings to those who are staking. So the 2% in this scenario can be multiplied by 4 to estimate an 8% yearly interest rate on those staking continuously. If you have 1000 CBX and you stake for the year and all else remains the same, you will earn 80 CBX over the course of 12 months.

Thx elambert for the reply Smiley

Another question : Does anyone sucessful with the wallet on windows 10 ? my cbx wallet is always crashing after 4 to 5 hours of synching from the bootstrap Sad

I am on windows 10 and no issue here. Are you syncing and then after 4-5 hours it crashes or does it crash while trying to sync?

Nice RoadMap i love it Smiley

But is it possible to include a great/reliable exchange to buy/sell CBX ( instead of yoshit and f*ckingtopia )
Because (sorry in french) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368328.msg19693678#msg19693678  Embarrassed

Unfortunately this is strictly a decision of the exchanges but we are of course all for it. I think volume and community requests combined will do the trick. However, if at the completion of this roadmap we are still not there (very difficult to believe) then creating our own exchange will be on the 2018 roadmap. It very well may he either way but we will have to prioritize projects at that point.

I just received the below quoted question via PM but in case others have the same query, I am going to answer it here:

Hi elambert

I would like to ask you a question regarding CBX inflation rate.

Earlier, there was mentioned that staking will receive 2% on annual basis

But at your last reply on the thread, you mentioned it will produce 8% to 10% per year

Kindly please explain which is the right one, i just getting confuse about this.

The inflation rate of CBX is 2% per year (actually it is closer to 1.8% but 2% is the target). This 2% of the approximately 1 million CBX in existence comes out to 20k CBX generated per year. This 20k is divided in the PoSP algorithm to payout in blocks every 1 minute (about .04 CBX per block). In order to earn a PoSP block, one has to have their Vault open and staking (CBX contained become eligible after 1 hour). This results in a far higher percentage yield for participating stakers since all CBX owners are not always staking (lost CBX, cold storage, coins held at exchanges).

PoSP has been running for 1.5 years and the metrics in this time show the 8-10% yearly yield rate.

So basically we have 2 different metrics going on here that you are confusing:
Inflation = 2%
Interest earnings = 8-10% currently

I hope this clarifies.
