FYI- currently Banx.io is the only exchange that is updated to v2.3. If you are looking to trade / deposit / withdraw, please use Banx.io

Will update the community when the other exchanges are updated:
- Cryptopia
- Cyptsy
- YoBit

If you trade at any of the listed exchanges, please help by submitting a support ticket or tweeting the exchange to try to encourage them to upgrade to v2.3.

Thanks!

Community assistance/suggestions needed:

One obstacle realized with the announcement and release of PoSP is a difficulty in communicating clearly and concisely what it is, what it does and why people should care. I am biased of course, but I honestly cannot think of any existing cryptocurrency algorithm that is better designed. PoSP accomplishes all of the tasks that originally attracted me to Bitcoin but in my opinion, does them better. I think most who understand PoSP now will agree with my sentiment.

So... does anyone have suggestions of how to best summarize PoSP so that people can quickly understand it?

What helped you understand PoSP when it was first explained to you?

One idea I had was a short video (30 seconds) that somehow conveys PoSP with images alone so as to avoid language barriers...

Brainstorm time.....

And now this notice at Cryptsy:

Important System Notification

Phishing Attempt:: There is a phishing attempt going around prompting users to go to a cryptsy-refund website. Do not go to this website or give your login details on any website other than the official Cryptsy website. There were two avenues of the Phishing attempt. One was via SMS, using our provider Twilio and gained entry into our logs and sending ability via a weak password on that account. The passwords on this account have been secured. The other avenue was via email using the same mailing service we use (Mailgun), but was not sent using our account. It is uncertain where the email list for this Phishing attempt was attained from, as we do not show any unauthorized access to our Mailgun account nor our internal systems. We are still investigating this matter. If you were a victim of this phishing, you should log into your account at Cryptsy immediately and do the following: 1. Change your password and enable 2fa if you don’t already have it enabled. 2. Check your pending withdrawals, we currently have withdrawals disabled so if you see one that shouldn’t be there you can request to have it cancelled. Regarding other issues that have been apparent at Cryptsy for the last couple months, I will be making another post to explain what has been happening in the next couple days. BigVern UNTIL WE ARE ABLE TO DETERMINE EXTENT OF THE PHISHING ATTEMPT, ALL WITHDRAWALS ARE PAUSED

Looks like Cryptsy was 'attacked'.

Important System Notification

Hmmm Sad

For the last 1,000 blocks, 28.2% of the network is staking.

Hello
would be nice to put the percentage of the network staking every 1000 blocks on the website.
it's good information.
sorry for the google translate

Agree, this is on the to do list. For now, you can do a manual conversion by taking the data from the block explorer and plugging it into below equation to get the Current PoSP Interest Earnings Rate based off of the last 1k blocks.

0.02/x

x = Stake % found here on CBX block explorer

For the last 1,000 blocks, 28.2% of the network is staking.

This means that those participating in staking the last 1k blocks are being paid at a yearly rate of 7.1% for their service of securing the network and processing transactions (simply keeping their Vault online and unlocked).

Due to PoSP, this is occurring while growth of the money supply is holding steady at its fixed 2% inflationary rate.

2% / 28.2% = 7.1%

Thank you to those who are participating and earning this compensation for their contribution.

Also, anyone can participate. No mining equipment is necessary, no mining farms to compete with.

If you want to join in, you can purchase CBX on one of the supporting exchanges, move your CBX to your personal Vault and after 1 hour you can start taking advantage of these earnings.

Yobit I have no experience with but I was informed they have updated their wallet so you should be ok there as soon as the required confirmations go through. Did you check you transaction on the block chain?
Yes the transaction is on blockchain and have now more than 92 confirmations and the address on blockchain show 1 CBX

i just looked again few second ago on yobit and same Wallet status: Online (1317333 blocks)

will wait toromow to see or contact their support but it comforts me to not trust yobit to buy altcoin

I have reached out to Yobit to confirm they have updated to v2.3 but it sounds as if they have not - otherwise your deposit would have shown up... No response to your ticket yet?

 Angry
Hi,

I updated to wallet 2.3.0.0

When it was syncing, it is stuck at block 1305036 indicating that the last block received was 9 days ago.

Any suggestion as to what to do?

Thanks!

Get the bootstrap from the website, close your Vault and replace those files in your roaming folder. Once complete, restart your wallet and let it sync for the last few days (bootstrap is through Jan 6th so will not have to sync long).

Bougth CBX on Banx.io, no problem and withdrawal to my wallet was OK.

I dont trust YoBit because many wallets are in maintenance (less than craptsy but many doesnt work too) and because they encourage and help scam ico.

Then i tried to send 1 CBX on two others exchange.

Both are confirmed but are "not yet redemed"

Sended from my wallet 1 CBX to Cryptopia, oups there wallet say "waiting for update"
( my fault, have'nt view the icon before i sent, np i will get them once they update the wallet or know their is an update )

Sended from my wallet 1 CBX to YoBit, ...
I looked before their wallet and was ok: Wallet status: Online (1317253 blocks)

But one hour after and more than 37 confirmations, nothing received and nothing on incoming deposit  Huh while i get them in few seconds with banx.io

If i cant deposit 1 on Yobit,  i will not place a trade to buy then. (same for cryptopia)

My wallet is in 2.3.0.

Banx is really good with keeping up with wallet updates. At least for CBX they have been the most responsive and even proactive. Reliable exchange from my experience.

Yobit I have no experience with but I was informed they have updated their wallet so you should be ok there as soon as the required confirmations go through. Did you check you transaction on the block chain?

Cryptsy and Cryptopia CBX wallets are still in maintenance since they have not updated yet. On those platforms we can only submit support tickets and wait for them to address.

Nice work! did he by any chance figure out the problem with switching from daemon to qt and back or the api error?

I know he is working on it, not sure if complete yet but it is getting addressed.

i'm using daemon 2.3 and seeing over 1gb of ram usage

The build is not compiled and published yet but will be shortly; 50% less memory usage on my machine.

Good news regarding the memory usage issue guys. Alex gave me a test build that is stable at 450MB on my system (unlocked and staking). My memory usage with previous Vault was over 1,000 MB so quite an improvement.

hi,
one more time with new update, the wallet stars over again... (under windows 10)
the process does not start..

  Sad

Not sure I understand, can you please explain more?

nothing happens when I launch CryptoBullion-qt.exe

Try running the .exe from the command prompt, you will get an error message if it is crashing out that will help diagnose the problem Smiley

thanks for reply

but still the same..
nothing happens when i execute  CryptoBullion-qt.exe from ms-dos cmd or powershell cmd..

Is this a brand new install?
v2.3?

Upgrade from?

Hi here,

I just bought few CBX and downloaded the 2.3 wallet.

I would like to know : is there a minimum amount to stake or what is a normal amount for staking ?

Is there anything to do to stake ( for now i installed the wallet, the blockchain and sended 50 CBX to see how it work, do i have to configure something in the wallet ? )

thanks for your reply and sorry for my noob question.

No minimum, just keep your Vault running and unlocked. Let us know how you do and welcome aboard!

P.s the more you have the more likely you are to generate PoSP blocks and of course the more often you will.

A thread worth reading ...

- DECENTRALIZED crypto currency (including Bitcoin) is a delusion (any solutions?)

Does Proof-of-Stake Participation and a Proof-of-Value Network in fact offer a solution (to a perceived problem) !

PoSP = Increased Decentralized Network Participation.

PoVN = Independent Decentralized Price Discovery through Participation.

Great to see you back my friend! We had planned to refocus on PoV now that PoSP is released so impeccable timing! Welcome back!
