261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO would you suggest for February and March? on: February 15, 2018, 09:50:02 PM
A great list, which I will examine in detail. My favorite ICOs of this months are Livetree (which I am supporting) and Gilgamesh, a platform for books, readers and authors.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of shitcoins on: February 15, 2018, 09:43:44 PM
My opinion about shitcoins is the following one:
Every New Coin Must Be Considered a Shitcoin Until Proven Otherwise.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News: Tether , a problem or just FUD... on: February 15, 2018, 09:33:36 PM

There is something worse. Even though the evaporation of 2B$ is quite irrelevant in the whole, people would start to rightfully claim that the rise of Bitcoin to ATH had been fueled by non-existent money, and THIS would crash BTC price.

This also brings up another good point. The money is not "non existent" though because it is at the expense of others.

The real problem of this world it that the money is to some extent "non existent" everywhere, the only existing thing is the faith in the value of a currency, take away the faith and you have no currency left. I know what I am talking about. I am Jesus Cryptos.

I didn't realize your name was Jesus Cryptos , now I see the light!

I'm not responsible for the light - that's my dad's business Wink BTW remember the old trick of the multiplication of the bread and the fish? My guess is that Tether is the consequence of a trick of this sort.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]F0ME - DEDICATED POS - 90% AIRDROP - 16 ROUNDS - REG NOW on: February 15, 2018, 09:18:28 PM
At the current rate of f0me, 490 satoshi, I guess most of the airdropped people have received a few dollars worth of coins in this third airdrop, after hours spent chatting on Discord to obtain that. Would have not been easier to buy them on the exchange?
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]🔥🔥🔥 GILGAMESH 🔥 SOCIAL NETWORK FOR BOOKS 🔥🔥 ICO IS LIVE on: February 15, 2018, 08:14:06 PM
Intermediaries have always been a big issue and having a platform that gets them out of the way most especially in the publishing industry makes me so happy. This would be a great opportunity for writers, authors and even readers as well.
Of course the platform will make the writer and reader closer, but in our time, most importantly, it will save money for readers and give more money to writers.

What? Does the Gilgamesh platform also provide writers with means to earn money or was this just a case of posting for posting while having no clue?
Hopefully yes, they will surely create a platform where the writer can directly earn money by publishing his/her work to the audience. This will decrease the distance between the author and the reader.

This would actually be something new within a social network for books and readers. Goodreads does not offer anything like that.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex Support is out of order! on: February 14, 2018, 09:23:26 PM
Lately most of the exchanges won't reply to you for ages, a consequence of the tsunami of new users whi have been joining all of them. Some exchanges have hundreds of thousands of customers by now and they didn't scale up with their support. And Bittrex has become one of the biggest lately.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How you choose the exchange for trading? Vote! on: February 14, 2018, 09:17:35 PM
This is indeed a good list of good exchange parameters. The top four parameters I chose:

1) Crypto-favorable country of Exchange's registration - Certainly you wouldn't want to set up an exchange in China right now.
2) High degree of security - Can't be traded with any other parameter
3) Fast and excellent customer support - Hint:Poloniex
4) Ease of use - For people like me, who aren't a big fan of advanced features.

I did not choose "lowest fees" and "Ability to buy/sell at best prices" because these things are already competitive and so no big difference.
"Availability of margin or/and derivatives trading", haven't tried these features. I just go for market price, LOL!

These are exactly the four parameters that I have chosen for myself too. The number 2 of course is the most important of all. I have already been screwed in 4 hacked exchanges in the past.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: missing ONE WORD of my WAVES seed phrase, is there a chance? on: February 14, 2018, 09:03:47 PM
Hi,

I got 14 of 15 words of my WAVES seed phrase. I dont know the position of the missing word, i do have the public key...

So odds arent too bad right? is there a tool that I can use? I bet I am not the first noob to have this kind of problem...

Thanks in advance for any helpful answer

Should be brute forceable quite easily. As Danny said on top, there are 2048 words in the seed wordlist - you can find them here - https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/bip-0039-wordlists.md and 30,720 total possibilities - a python based script should be able to work it out quite quickly.

This is a pretty easy script to assemble for someone who is able to code. You could probably even do it with a php script. If you cannot yourself, look for a friend who can.

OK, I understand that you will likely send 50$ worth of ETH to 10 friends of yours who will happen to win, but all the hundreds of other people who will use their time to promote you, what will they get?
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is REALLY going on with Bitconnect right now?! on: February 14, 2018, 08:52:12 PM
I think that it's worth forgetting about this project, now more and more financial pyramids, if you manage to get into them, then maybe something will happen, but with this project you must say goodbye.

If you keep forgetting about these kind of Ponzi schemes, you will end up falling for them again and again. You have to remember them, instead, wery well, as an important lesson for the future.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Bounties in the past? on: February 14, 2018, 08:28:50 PM
I think Oyster Pearl is the best I know. they provide 50k-100k for participants with a starting price of $ 0.04 and $ 3 after entering a major exchange

Yes, had you sold your Oyster Pearl signature bounty at ATH you could easily have made 100K or even 200K or more - depending on your rank in the campaign.

You may give a look also at Pluton (PLU) which some have called a hidden gem. And ZERO, the poorest brother of ZEN. I will give a look at the coins of your list. PRL is one of my favorites there.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POW tokens : Frequently asked questions on: February 14, 2018, 08:19:16 PM
How can i transfer my pow token from the site to exchange

nice question, on site there are these faq:

Not yet. But our plan is to build a 'bridge' between POW 'lite' and POW ERC20 by Feb 2018. This bridge will allow you to transfer your POW 'lite' onto the Ethereum Blockchain where it will becom POW ERC20. You will then be free to sell your POW ERC20 for cash. So, in the long term, the answer to your question is yes.

Anyway in such case the coin could have a revival now seems no more then 150$ are traded in a day.

This "bridge" was announced for December 2017 and then it slided to February 2018 - which is now. Any news about this becoming actually real?

EDIT: I have just read that it should happen at the end of February.

Any possibility to get listed on some middle sized exchange like Cryptopia? Kucoin would actually be great, since it does not require paperwork for accepting new users.

276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only 9300 unconfirmed transactions today on: February 12, 2018, 11:45:20 PM
The good news for me is that in a few days I will have to pay for a recursive service which I'm always paying in Bitcoins and which costs only 6$, so with an additional 20$ fees as it has been for a while on to it would be a bit surreal...

Well, if F0me will be soon listed on Kucoin I guess... that's the beginning of a beautiful friendship between the F0me coin and the crypto public.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 12, 2018, 11:37:20 PM
no one can say this today, news about march airdrop (and all other) will be communicated  from Tony this week.
I think the silence from tonych means  March is not the month when airdrop should be expected. Otherwise he would communicate already on this matter. I am in very doubt that there will be any future airdrop as either he or his team is likely to  conceive  new  distribution scheme.

Yes, just only two weeks until March, but then I guess we will still have to wait for the full moon. Meanwhile I guess I have forgotten how the address linking procedure works Smiley

280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: February 12, 2018, 11:09:38 PM

I havn't trusted it [mymonero.com] since a few guys here got burned and really I only used it for a few coins which back then was pocket change, I think the most I ever had on there was 400 way back.

People have to get burned before they stop using web page based wallets I guess.  Huh

!@$@#$ Binance still down was supposed to be up 10 minutes ago. Fuck

Ya, that was horrible (was it birr who lost 7k XMR wallet? I remember feeling sick about it at the time, and shortly thereafter removed the bulk of my stash), but IIRC it was resolved to be phishing or MIM, wasn't it?  A strike against the internet, not the integrity of the service.

Why would people leave coins in online wallets? Well, I guess I may have done it too in the past with what was then "pocket money", actually I had left coins in online exchanges which then got hacked. A handful of dollars in those days, tens or hundreds of thousands of $ now...
