421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SOMA - The Social Marketplace on: January 08, 2018, 12:52:53 PM
SOMA Update

Soma team wishes happy new year to everybody in our community! The year 2017 has been an exciting year in the world of crypto and the upcoming year will be even better for those who are involved in great crypto projects, like Soma. We are delivering our MVP and SCT holders are able to utilize their tokens in the Soma ecosystem for the first time in the history, which will definitely be an exciting moment and drive the demand of SCT. We are also bringing more exchanges to increase the trading volume and liquidity of SCT in secondary markets. Lastly, we are releasing new information about one very special feature which will be implemented on the Soma platform when our new roadmap is published and start to integrate solutions from the current partnerships into our platform. We wish everybody a successful 2018!

Nice wishes, thank you - I am very optimist about SOMA long term, I cannot underdstand how the price can have tanked so much after ICO but that's just a good opportunity to load the bag with some cheap tokens.

there is no cheap tokens recently ,other project tokens pump and pump ,i agreed with you ,this is good chance.

This WAS a good chance - as soon as I went shopping SCT the price didn't want to wait for me and after that I had bought just a few hundreds SCT the price had already doubled! Cheesy
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta Token sale, will you buy it? on: January 08, 2018, 12:49:13 PM
Etherdelta is now messing up things, having announced that in future new coins which want to be listed have first to buy a consistent amount of their tokens. It could mean RIP for Etherdelta IMHO.

yes, it's the worst change they could make in my opinion too. the best thing about etherdelta was listing of every useless token. it was crypto flea market with lot of issues but with own charm.

I like the definition of Crypto Flea Market - maybe someone should make an Exchange with this name and it would rock! Etherdelta didn't understand that THIS was their unique charme, which this change they may compromise their success for real.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: January 08, 2018, 12:46:59 PM
The first blockchain killer app is the ability for a new project to create an ecosystem of engaged supporters beyond the team. Bancor is grateful to be among the largest Token Generation Events of 2017, delivering the 1st liquidity network for crypto.
http://uk.businessinsider.com/the-10-biggest-ico-fundraises-of-2017-2017-12/#3-the-bancor-protocol-153-million-8

As it has been predicted, Bancor is becoming a standard, it is getting adopted by default by every new ambitious project. Once this will achieve a critical mass, the implications for Bancor's value will be mind-boggling!
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: January 08, 2018, 12:43:40 PM
One only thing it could be improved is the procedure to create a node - too complicate at the moment. I have the necessary coins for that but I cannot afford spending days trying to understand how to do that.
You are right and we are working on this.
For now you can go to Discord channel and ask for help, somebody is always there to help you.

Discord invite https://discordapp.com/invite/SuaMBTb

Great, I will wait with great impatience that the process will got simpler, since I'm now devoting 100% of my time in making money with cryptos (and with some success) and I have too many things running in parallel and can't spend too much time on single issues Smiley
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 08, 2018, 12:35:51 PM
Our ICO bot now supports BTC and ETH (meaning you can pay in BTC or ETH to buy a token issued on Byteball platform).

https://github.com/byteball/ico-bot

Now, almost all pieces are in place to become an ICO platform.

Wonderful news! Now only the issue of the broadcasting of the assets' names has to be completed. Any news about the project for the registrars of such names?
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 06, 2018, 02:32:57 AM
which is the best way to switch from a full node wallet to a light one - without losing old addresses of course?

If you only have public assets (bytes for instance) then the seed is enough. Save it, uninstall your full wallet, install a light wallet and restore using the seed. You'll get your addresses with their public assets' balances.

If you have private assets (blackbytes for instance) then you'll have to wait for your full wallet to sync, install a(n intermediary) light wallet elsewhere (a different user will do if you want to stay on the same machine) and transfer your blackbytes then your bytes to it. If you want your old addresses back, then after emptying your full wallet, uninstall it, install a light one and recover from the seed. You'll then have to send your assets from your intermediary light wallet to your newly installed light wallet (always leave sending the bytes at the end, because you'll need them for fees to send everything else).

I have started to follow your instructions, but then I have read something which suggested that by restoring the wallet from seed I would also lose my multisignature wallets. Is that true?
427  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is like heroin on: January 04, 2018, 12:28:41 PM
I would not really use this analogy. Heroin long term kills you, Bitcoin probably will just make you rich long term, which is quite the opposite of death.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin or ripple ? on: January 04, 2018, 12:26:50 PM
My answer has been "none." I think that in a few years time we could witness the rise of a coin with so much better intrinsec technical features that it will take the lead. Perhaps something with hashgraph technology, who knows...
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MASSIVE Market Shift on: January 04, 2018, 12:24:23 PM
You are having a point. I too was asking myself what the hell is going on. Do the whales know something we don't? Are they preparing to dump BTC or is is all just a momentary speculation? We will soon discover that...
430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: January 04, 2018, 11:51:29 AM
I believe that Bitcoin is changing the world because it has disclosed its blockchain and distributed ledger technology to the world so that thousands of other coins could be born and thrive. The true game changer for the world has been the rise of an ecosystem of cryptos.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: January 04, 2018, 11:48:42 AM
This is a devastating question for me. I heard about Bitcoin when you could buy tons of BTCs with just a few cents and I had promised myself to look deeper into that.... and then I forgot.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All eyes on Japan in 2018 on: January 04, 2018, 11:44:43 AM
Thanks for your very interesting analisys. In fact, NEM's price is skyrocketing right now, and I wonder if it could be connected with what you have said, that Japan has started recognizing cryptocurrencies.
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold everything on: January 04, 2018, 11:28:46 AM
So you sold everything and now you have to pay 30% taxes on your profit. But what will happen if you 'll be back, you'll buy Bitcoins again and then the price tanks and you sell with a loss. Will your country give you your paid taxes back?
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a currency or asset? on: January 04, 2018, 11:26:04 AM
I'm sorry for those who dream about Bitcoin being a currency, but it really is just only an asset now, which is used as a store of value and for sheer speculative purposes. Even only for the very high fees, it cannot be used as a currency right now.
435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Artificial intelligence. on: January 04, 2018, 11:24:02 AM
I really would not confuse Hollywood stereotypes with reality. Artificial Intelligence will radically change life on Earth for a number of reasons. I think it's quite unlikely that an AI will end up endangering the existence of mankind. But, of course, you never know Wink
436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fantasy vs Reality on: January 04, 2018, 11:19:57 AM
Imagination is what distinguishes us from other animals, which too have imagination but very contingent and limited to immediate action plans. We have almost no limits in what we can imagine and doing that is one of the big pleasures of life - and it can also be very useful from a practical use, if you imagine a new business or product or book to write. The only risk of imagination is if you lose the track of the boundaries between fantasy and reality - then you may become a mythomaniac or worse.
437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use on: January 04, 2018, 11:15:40 AM
It depends what you mean by recreational drugs. I think that coffee, good wine, beer and weed are recreational drugs where the benefits can surpass the negative sides - if taken with moderation. Other drugs are more harmful and you'd better stay away from them.
438  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you going to pay taxes? on: January 04, 2018, 11:12:14 AM
No I'm not.

Here in Switzerland there are no taxes on capital gains.   Grin

Which is the procedure to take one's residence in Switzerland? Not joking, if one day one had to cash out a few million $ then it could become a good idea to move to Switzerland. After all, also Google, Amazon and the other corporations migrate where they don't have to pay taxes...
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: January 04, 2018, 11:09:01 AM
Zen was mentioned here:

ZenCash ( ZEN )

My third coin for 2018 is ZenCash. In the past 90 days it has increased value by 5x.

ZenCash focuses on true anonymity in online payments. As more and more consumers focus on privacy and security, I predict it will become the leader in anonymous coins. This past month there has been great discussions about upcoming US regulations on cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin specifically). If and when these regulations are announced, I expect ZEN to surge in price as the push for privacy causes an increase in demand.

Good article. I also am convinced that ZEN will shine in 2018. Sooner or later it could even end up outshining Zcash,

Me too. I was looking at the zcash btc trade volume by exchange and almost 40% of its trade comes from HITBTC, 11% & 12% from biance and bitfinex respectively. 34% of its trade is in KRW. Once zen is on these exchanges anyone invested in zcash will hopefully look into zen as a credible alternative which should have a massive impact. 2018 looks promising

One only thing it could be improved is the procedure to create a node - too complicate at the moment. I have the necessary coins for that but I cannot afford spending days trying to understand how to do that.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: January 04, 2018, 11:07:11 AM
This project is huge but I don't know why it's still undervalued? was it actually because of the amount it raised in sale? or are the fud about it actually true? I still don't understand something.

This is a serious and complex project and most people prefer simple Pump&Dumps coins. The fact is that Pump&Dumps are not possible with Bancor due to its protocol, and so only serious investors are buying Bancor. Which means that the rise will we slower but steadier.
