Sorry for the late inactivity, but we have been busy with work on our future announcement. Rest assured microCoin is still going. The current policy is that we will be keeping a somewhat low profile for a while and do more promotion for microCoin later after our future announcement. Consider this a good chance to get some easy microCoin.

Logo contest has finally ended! The new logo has been chosen and the winner will still be making some changes to the alternative logo, but the primary logo should be finished, website will be up soon:

I thought you said there would be a vote at the end of the competition to gauge interest?

It's a shame, because I thought some of the other designs were much more unique, pretty and usable for purposes of advertising and brand recognition.

Everytime I look at that one I read the word "CUP" for some reason.

I just keep thinking of the Chicago Cubs.
Haha.
I think this is good logo.
1. Unique=not variation clone from other altcoin
2. Simple (like logo need to be).
3. Looks coin
4. can easy make more variation (like more coin shiluet etc)
edit: 5. Good space type amount on the coin (right side to the µ)
Good choice dev, and I let they can choose winner (they pay bitcoin bounty and they born this coin). I believe we can vote many other points later.

And yes nFactor rocks. My hash is too 45-50% less.
There is also more miners than last day.
Before I got 10MIL/day, now around 6MIL/d

I still cannot run a client. Error loggs say:

Name of misapplication: microCoin.exe, version: 0.7.2.0, time stamp: 0x52cd20e7
Name of the faulty module: microCoin.exe, version: 0.7.2.0, time stamp: 0x52cd20e7
Exception code: 0xc000001d
Error Offset: 0x000ef05c
ID of the faulty process: 0x1c3c
Start time of misapplication: 0x01cf1c0342ce7e4b

edit: I mean error in debug.log file.

1. save your wallet.dat (if you have coins)
2. delete roaming/microcoin/*
3. Download newest wallet (from main page)
4. check if your wallet run
5. If not start: what is in roaming/microcoin/debug.log file
5. If start: modify nodes etc you want to in conf file

If you are looking for a coin that won't get dumped, you might like microCroin [MRC] µ

microCoin aims to be a deflationary currency for investors

Quote
310,000+ Block rewards counts down by 0.01 until the block reward is 1000.
When the block reward is 1000, it will stay as that.

Perhaps I missed something, but how is this coin deflationary? If the block reward never reaches 0, as it stops at a 1000, then at least 1000 coins need to be lost each block, otherwise supply increases causing inflation.. Unless, you have some sort of master plan to ensure demand increases at a very steady and consistent rate to match the supply increase, then this coin will suffer from inflation.

If you want it to truly be a deflationary currency, the block reward must end at 0. This means total supply cant increase as its fixed, but it can decrease due to losing access to wallets etc. supply dropping or demand increasing will result in the price climbing.

As it stands supply will always increase, If demand stays the same the coin devalues. If demand drops, the coin devalues. You are completely relying on demand increasing, which is out of your control.

My advice, there's no room in the future for inflationary currencies. So aiming for deflation is the right move, however what you have here isn't going to be deflationary.. You need to make sure the block reward drops to 0 and then stays there.
If I looking code.. reward will be 0 when Max moneysupply: 100,000,000,000 MRC is reached.

Micro wallet crashing. I cannot run it!

Windows 7
Check your log. There you see why.
Usually because you have error in your config file.

Has anyone any information on the "Share above target" issue at the moment?

From what I gather its a StartT setting that needs setting, but in the GPU and CPU miners supplied in the OP for Linux there is no "--StartT" argument?
StartT is already in sourcecode. (in scrypt.c file)

We are multipool resistant right now but once we hit a flat rate of 1000/block we aren't going to be anymore. What do you guys think is the best option to remain mulyipool resistant?
multipool can't mine jane coins because client use CG miner.

Just note microCoin can write like µ too (alt+230). We have own currency letter  Cheesy
100MRC = 100µ

Reply from Cryptsy:

"I have added it to the list of coins to be reviewed for addition to he Cryptsy exchange!"

Mmmhh Undecided  in my opinion that should attract to many dumpers i think..at least if they would put on Crypsty for 90 satoshi at least , could be a good start Cheesy Smiley

Anyway, those who will dump - regret. I buy as many as possibe lol!

AND I DAMNED LIKE MRC!
And good think is if they dump, with this coin they will dump really mined coins, not some pre/instamined free money.
Ofcource it's good to get listed on craptsy... just hope couple weeks more easy 300mh/s network mining Smiley

Oh new silly little premined coin  Cheesy
Have a nice dump.

Just look here.
Silly coin... or plant. There is no source at all. Or?
Do you make this your self or with some coin generator?

I wish the coin would get added to coinmarket.io (altho its down now)..
It's a great new exchange that's fast and generally works well...
The current exchanges seem to be more in a beta phase and people don't really want to deposit their stuff there (if they would have the opportunity)...
Anyway over time it'll all get fixed Tongue
+1

If port is problem, we can inform dev so they can solve that on next wallet update.

We hope update wallet.
btw here I found some other port nodes

addnode=84.251.34.142:3232
addnode=145.220.255.56:35937
addnode=24.155.217.218:62494
addnode=183.171.178.11:10278

hmm so I tried again on my friends computer and it seems microcoin is updating now... Strange, as i've tried at least 10 times before during a period of about 2 weeks to get it updating...
I think its because of the new addnodes, cause without them it's still not updating (altho the addnode list without them is also kinda old, since I didnt look at it for a little while)...
Anyway problem resolved for that computer and it is connecting now. Seems port 4444 might be blocked I guess >.<
Glad to hear.
Please DEV. Can you add this solution on first page.
And maybe if we take new port for nodes.. so China can join in Smiley

hmm seems its still not totally resolved tho, decided to test it a little more and remove all nodes except the ones you posted...
client is again not updating now (although it does show 2 active connections to network), might start updating later, but i've already waited for about 5-10 minutes and still not updating the block chain. No idea what it is doing tho Tongue
Before I wouldn't get any active connections to the network tho, so it's definitely an improvement, but not sure if/when it starts updating the blockchain...
I'll just let it try to update for about another half an hour, will post here if it does update Tongue

ok, just 1 active connection now but it did manage to sync (altho I never saw the updating blockchain bar I think)... Anyway, it's updated, tested it by sending 1 MRC to the wallet and it was received right away... Awesome!
Problem is that the number of connections doesn't really seem to go up, so when the node goes down I guess it will still be troublesome >.<
Just wonder which one is this "active" node you just use?
If I put only 84.251.34.142:3232 I get four connection same way.
... now I have 7...
And I have no uPnp enabled.
Any way 84.251.34.142:3232 is active all the time.
I know because it is same server ip than first node and block chain explorer.
... now 10 connection

1396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RazorLove Cryptocurrency Services - DBL, CENT, & FOO/BAR Updates on: January 27, 2014, 06:20:09 AM
Update on Cryptsy stuff

I finally got in contact with my friend at cryptsy, he confirmed that they are indeed still running the v0.10.0.0-beta client and this is clearly the cause of all the issues.
He has made sure to let paul know he needs to update their client, so those issues should be fixed within a couple days.

Also, as far as I know, there's been no serious consideration or even a thought about setting up a fourth market with pennies. That's just a suggestion some people were making earlier in this thread that seems to have spread as a rumor. I agree that it may be a good idea to have an even lower valued coin then XPM as a market but a Proof of Stake coin is not the one for that job, much to unstable in both value and functionality.

Frankly I think they should redesign the entire exchange to remove "markets" and just let people trade directly on any currency pair, but that would be hell to setup with all these coins.

http://altexplorer.info/chains/CENT/block_crawler.php seems to be getting new blocks and is running the latest cent wallet

Thanks for the update.

It says we're at block 149977,but I'm at 271772. Crazy
Me too. Well I still catching blocks but i'm over 260000 and estimated show 271756
BTW- txid can't search with that browser, time out or something...

Well. If you looking serious long term coins on your market, I think XPM is good old and MRC (microCoin) good new.
