1583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] #coin is coming on: January 09, 2014, 04:38:17 AM
Hash, Pound or Crunch ... Looking forward to it. CPU-only would be good for some of us.

The thinking is CPU mining offers the average user a chance to mine, but with pools now that idea seems to be redundant.
CPU only is not good for local miners any more. Cloud miners are take over CPU coins.
I think scrypt-jane is good for miners, and multipools can't attach it.
But all published jane coins are pre or flash mined on start, so do something for that.
Like microCoin is planning to start with ~zero blocks at first 10000 blocks and then diff and nfactor start handle the speed.
Other way to handle this, is give bigger target time, but it will slow transfer speed on the future.

Good luck with that.
1584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Relaunch January 10th 17:00 (GMT) on: January 09, 2014, 03:32:10 AM
Block Rewards:

Blocks 1-10,000 - 0.001 MRC (To set difficulty and test network)
Blocks 10,000-160,000 - Block reward is the same as block number. (For fair launch)
Example: Block number 10,000 = 10,000MRC, Block number 160,000 = 160,000MRC
Blocks 160,000 - 310,000 - Block reward descending by one for each block. (For deflation)
Example: Block number 160,000 = 160,000MRC, Block number 160,001 = 159,999MRC and so on.
310,000+ - Block reward is a solid 10,000

The reason why the rewards for the first 10,000 blocks is so low is that we were thinking of premining them before the release of the wallet to set the difficulty. The amount total is something practically non-existant like 100 or 1000 so it doesn't count as a premine. Anyone could get 1000 MRC in a minute while mining after the 10,000 blocks. I have 600kh/s (regular scrypt mining speed) of hash power and if I get my other 7950 to work then 1,2mh/s. My partner (We are a team of two, he does coding and other functionality and I handle the promotion and public side) has 10mh/s (regular scrypt speed). I believe this will be enough to get the difficulty high enough that the network can't just be rushed by a big miner. The release would be at around 8,000 blocks so people still have 2,000 blocks of time to set their miners up. 10,000 blocks will only take around half an hour to mine or an hour at tops, I believe. Do tell me if you have any other suggestions or see something wrong with our plan. There's still time to change things.

Like the idea.

Where I can download source?

Not available yet, apparently.
You should not publish coin without source dude.
Altcoins are under open sourde and if you dev it, you need publish it.
And other point. We need to know what is inside. Example if ip blah blah.. give me 100x more... and if not send virus  Cheesy

DEV - here are some tips for you if you REALLY want to release a fair coin.

1. scale the blocks differently - make the first blocks worth LESS not more.

if you have low diff and high reward = instamine hell

huge farms with low latency rape the coins as we have seen today.

so the first 20k blocks worth only 5000 coins  or however many blocks you think it will take to give the pools enough time to set up. Then bring the big 800k blocks out.

actually that is ALL you have to do, no other tips required.

Also if this coin really did not have POS - why was there a stake readout on the wallet?

Luckily this coin broke down, however what you saw happen here today is happening in the background on all coins. A few huge farms are taking everything and all of the noobs are getting some scraps. This coin actually forked or something because even confirmed coins vanished.

Ha! I was just coming here to make this exact post.

May I add,

Dev, if you can, make the difficulty re-target more aggressive and more intelligent. If you are able. Once that big farm leaves the difficulty needs to come down fast for the small miners. Else the coin will be dead again.

Good luck.
And enable stake same way, it's already on source, then it will be perfect for relaunch I think.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Relaunch January 10th on: January 04, 2014, 06:59:20 PM
I'll give it a second try with the relaunch, because OP launched this coin fair with qt, block explorer, no premine, etc. compared with several other altcoin launches.

I hope the relaunch will become better.
+1
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Relaunch January 10th on: January 04, 2014, 06:51:49 PM
read some of the thread. The coin is broken and they are restarting it later.
I'm bad at English understand why the discussion can not read. I realized I could no longer minig, as the end of this coin?
No end.
They start it 10th again.
Start mining then.
1593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Relaunch January 10th on: January 04, 2014, 06:48:30 PM
I mining solo for the first time. Help me out a little. Why do I find a lot of blocks, but they are not confirmed? What am I doing wrong?

luckygenough56
realy?
Jvi1TfXx7RvkoVnvnQ1tyuYFyAvKNho8SG

It's because coin will relaunch 10th.
Start mining then.
I'm happy they relaunch this coin, because then there is pool already and some whale can't pick all launch profits.
I like how this coin give fast blocks on start, but maybe better if you put little more difficult on start, even there is pool already.
1594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Relaunch January 10th on: January 04, 2014, 06:21:43 PM
Can someone hit me up with some coin so I can see if this wallet actually works please?

JxZep2ydvmEd5WYSss8aFBuUVieYLqsemS

I can't.
I didn't get any coin with my 10 computer.
But you cant use old coins after relaunc, I think.
1595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Bounties - Released! on: January 04, 2014, 06:03:37 PM

Well. I admit this went horribly. And I can guarantee that I am not the one getting all the blocks. Not that it matters. I'll have to restart the coin, because I don't want one or two people owning such a big chunk. As far as I am concerned, the current blockchain is not official anymore. microCoin will be relaunched with a higher difficulty and possibly changed block rewards and POS.
We deeply apologize for wasting your time. Hopefully you will still be interested when the coin is relaunched.

[/quote]

Sounds fear restart the coin.
I think difficulty is better to be higer.
Take your time and let me know when start.
1596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Bounties - launching Jan 4th 2014! on: January 04, 2014, 04:13:49 PM
So we should be able to also use commands like --thread-concurrency 11200 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1020 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-fan 85 -w 64   ?

Great I wake up and not miss the launch  Smiley
Last jane/nfactor coin I mine using excacly same settings what op wrote, but using -I 19 flag
I have 7950 GPUs

I like jane/nfac coins, they dont overheat GPU's  like other scrypts.
