@tytanick, have you seen this post:

Here is the solution for linux amdgpu blockchain fix:
The new ROCm Kernel works great, my hashrate went from 155 > 167Mhs/s with 6*RX470 with Ubuntu 16.4

#Install new ROCm Kernel:

wget -qO - http://repo.radeon.com/rocm/apt/debian/rocm.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c 'echo deb [arch=amd64] http://repo.radeon.com/rocm/apt/debian/ xenial main > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/rocm.list'
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rocm

#edit grub
sudo nano  /etc/default/grub
#2MB fragments for Ellesmere are enabled with a grub option:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9"

sudo update-grub
sudo reboot

choose new Kernel and its done!

Thx to gstoner from ROCm Github.

Feel free to donate if you happy ;-)

Does it apply for SMOS too?
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 25, 2017, 02:17:48 PM
@tytanic, what is the Linux AMD GPU driver version implemented for RX series in SMOS? Just wonder to know.
Its 16.60 right now but i  will also prepare new image with 17.xx drivers but i am still waiting for AMD fix release for linux.
If that wont happen in next 1-2 weeks i will anyway make new image to support those Vega GPUs.

Current drivers you can check here:

Ahh, I see it now. Btw. did you check this AMD comunity thread: https://community.amd.com/thread/219309?

I really doubt Linux drivers will be released within 1-2 weeks.

Someone else have a hasrate drop by the dag raising?
Yes, me. SMOS - 109MH/s vs Windows 10 - 120MH/s (4x RX580). I'm sure @tytanic will update Linux AMD drivers with fixed DAG issue as soon as AMD released such of drivers. So, please do not blame @tytanic, it's not his fault.

I have now 4x Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX580 8GB (11265-01-20G, A1727), all with Hynix. BIOS modded, mining with Claymore 9.8 and AMD Beta drivers with stable 30.3MH/s. See screen shot below.

Hey, have you tried dual mining ? Also, did you get any incorrect shares ? if yes how many in 24 hours ? Thanks.
I'm not dual mining. No incorrect shares.

OK, after some tuning I can confirm below setup is working fine for me with stable 30.4MH/s since 24H:

- clean and fresh Windows 10x64 Home installation + all updates
- latest AMD beta drivers
- AB 4.4.0 beta 16 with applied "voltage control" fix and this one
- no atikmdag-patcher applied
- 4x Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8GB (11265-01-20G, HYNIX memory) with modded BIOS
- latest Claymore 9.8 with no overclocking/undervolting in BAT file

AB config: Screen shot
mv: 970
Power limit: +0
GPU core: 1250
GPU mem: 2150
Fan: 50%
Power from wall: 787W

I managed to get my MSI RX580 Armor 8GB with modded VBIOS to work properly with the New crypto driver by following the above with a slight twist.

http://imgur.com/a/o7srK
After Installing the driver without the atikmdag-patcher applied, i observed that straight after reboot GPU-Z was not displaying accurate readings (GPU load 16% and mem controller 100% without any load). HwInfo64 however was indicating no load of the GPU. I started Claymore 9.8 without any OC settings in the batch file as above.
as indicated below:
http://imgur.com/a/GBkim
It was getting 30.5MH/s but the 990mV from AB was not being applied properly as the card was not undervolting at 990mV but rather 1.1375V using almost 130W and running hotter at 66 Deg Celcius.

Then I did the following that seemed to work:
http://imgur.com/a/RYZgy
I opened Global Wattman that installs with the driver. I went to Voltage control and set it to manual and inserted 990mV there. This dropped my hashrate to 21MH/s!
After setting Global Wattman back to Automatic and applying it then seemed to default to the 990mV setting in AB. Weird right?
From there the card undervolted to the 990mV going back to 30.5MH/s with a power draw of under 100W and descent Temp at 59C. 0.98V stable

As Claymore has posted everytime AMD brings out a new driver they mess with the ADL API which is what 3rd party software use for Overclocking and Voltage settings.
It seems this time not even their own software can properly control the OC and Voltage Settings as i saw the other day with the RX64 Vega Cards and the new driver.

It seems however that by following these steps you can get it to work properly with the new crypto driver.
Indeed, I can confirm your observation. I just read your post and went to check my rig. mV was 970 in AB but GPU-Z showed around 1.23V and 134W per GPU. Then what I did was only to decrease mV in AB from 970 to 960 and now mV and W dropped in GPU-Z. Power from wall decreased from 787W to 610W.

so dont apply the patch ?
If you refer to my post above then I can say - no patch in my case. Maybe in your case you will have to apply this patch.

Hello
did already someone test the AMD Mining driver?
pute-Release-Notes.aspx]https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-[Suspicious link removed]pute-Release-Notes.aspx
If yes, is the DAG Problem solved with this driver?
Thank you.
Please read above several dozen posts and you will know  Wink

Beta driver + Beta AB + Claymore 9.8 + clean Windows 10 Home x64 installation

= only -96mv and +30-40W per card for 2mh/s.
Indeed, but again can get stable 30.5MH/s. I can accept more power usage (have it for free  Grin). BUT I preffer mining with SMOS (less power consumption, easy to use, nice dashboard). Unfortunately, there is no Linux AMD driver with DAG fixed yet.

Try with Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 16

AB 4.4.0 Beta 16 either crashes my rig or messes things up... I'd rather have stable rigs with a bit of fluctuations in the voltages than have an unstable rig. But that's just me  Grin
In my case Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 16 is working like a charm.

Beta driver + Beta AB + Beta miner = ?

 Cheesy
Beta driver + Beta AB + Claymore 9.8 + clean Windows 10 Home x64 installation

On the official MSI website, the latest version is Beta 12, that confused me.
You should check here...

i run the new beta driver and new beta after burner everthing is fine .. i have only one proplem with one card the voltage is hight and i dnt know why
i tryed to down voltage with claymore 9.8 it works but the hashrate drop to 14 mh

i have 3 rx 580
Claymore 9.8 does not support undervolting for RX 5xx cards.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 17, 2017, 07:57:06 AM
I have the EXACT SAME problems...

Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 12
AMD Beta Blockchain driver
RX480 cards
Windows 10 Pro (latest update).

Using driver 16.9.2 works without any problem.
Volt -70
Power +20
Core 1040
Memory 1885
Getting around 25.5 MH.s

Try with Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 16

-cvddc   set target GPU core voltage, multiplied by 1000. For example, "-cvddc 1050" means 1.05V. You can also specify values for every card, for example "-cvddc 900,950,1000,970". Supports latest AMD 4xx cards only in Windows.
Note: for NVIDIA cards this option is not supported.

-mvddc   set target GPU memory voltage, multiplied by 1000. For example, "-mvddc 1050" means 1.05V. You can also specify values for every card, for example "-mvddc 900,950,1000,970". Supports latest AMD 4xx cards only in Windows.

Hi Claymore, is there any chance to have both parameters working for AMD RX 5xx cards in the next miner release?

120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 16, 2017, 02:19:12 PM
Yeap that's correct. It ain't SMOS issue. It simple won't work on any linux.
Thanks a lot for confirmation. Now it's more clear for me but does it mean if I set OC (mV, memclock, coreclock) under Windows10 using AB and save it for all GPUs, then SMOS (with no OC) will use those settings?
