Why is there 51 pages of newbie questions and thread starter answers? Seems awfully suspicious lol. I am quite put off by that, although I was interested in the concept at first.

It's pretty crazy, every day I say "this is surely the bottom now" and then the bottom falls out and the market dives into an even deeper state of panic and loss. There was a huge influx of new investors towards the end of 2017 and the market grew at an unsustainable pace, it was always going to end badly. Those new to crypto won't take kindly to losses and don't really understand how the markets work. They will just offload their coins when they can't bare it anymore.

That's gotta be it soon though, most of them should have been shaken out by now. It'll be a while before we see the alt market flourishing again but the bear market should be coming to an end in the coming weeks. I hope so! I want to see some green in my portfolio. Lol

I have to agree with that. When things are on the up everyone is happy, when the market is in decline and they lose money the threads are full of moaning and scam accusations. There will always be FUD though, whether it's going up or down. A vast number of users on this forum post nothing but negative or just downright outrageous comments.

Good to see progress being made, I had my doubts but the updates from the dev are a good sign. It will be interesting to see more info on the platform, sounds good.

I would say that you can't go far wrong investing in any of the top market cap coins right now, as they have all fallen in value and can be bought at bargain basement prices. ETH has fallen significantly and is currently at a very attractive price.

If I was to mention just one, it would be Oyster (PRL) as I can really see it taking off once they launch their tech, and on April 6th they are taking a snapshot and airdropping their secondary coin (SHL) on a 1/1 basis, so for each PRL you hold in your wallet you will get one SHL. The price has already inflated a bit though in anticipation.

It is all speculation though, you have to do your homework before investing in anything and be prepared for the worst, as the market is still not in great shape at the moment.

Glad to see they are making progress on that, it has been far too long. Cryptopia seems to take an age to get these wallet issues sorted. Lucky that ETN is on Kucoin, it would be far worse if it was not.

Interesting. So this will be a stablecoin in effect as it will be pegged to the value of gold. What makes this different from other stablecoins though? What is your USP?

Easy to think like that about anything right now. Crypto as  whole is suffering from the deteriorating market conditions. Many teams are holding back and waiting to see what happens. Good news and big developments are not having that much of an effect at the moment, it's wise to not be wasteful.

Agreed, I am always wary of projects that go all out from the start to increase the value. Securing any exchange they can and trying to boost the value with rushed news and developments...only for it peak and sink into oblivion. I actively try to avoid investing in something like that.

I much prefer a project that builds on the foundations and aims for slow growth, something that lasts rather than a 3 month roller-coaster ride.  You are right about the communication too, something for them to work on.

Probably a bit of both on Mondays but yeah, the downtrend is because of the market conditions. Nothing is performing that well at the moment. Watching my portfolio decline by the day haha.

Way too early to judge it by price alone. If you had done that with BTC, ETH or many or the other current top 50 coins by market cap, you would have missed out on a lot of money. Many struggle at first, you can't expect it to rise without end when they have barely even started.

I wouldn't make any rash decisions while we have this bear market, but of course it is fine to play it safe if you don't have any belief in the project. Better to cash in if it's money you can't afford to lose. It's all a gamble in crypto.

With the plans they have, especially those shown in the recent document...I believe it'll take a while to implement. But if they do what they set out to achieve, this could really be something special in the next year or so. I don't judge anything by its current value though. Just it's potential.

It won't stop until BTC starts performing. It's on a downtrend and could drop a lot more over the coming days. As all alts are tied to BTC, they will all be falling in value as they have since the start of the year. The loss in value is not exclusive to ETN.

Hopefully the future will see all alts untethered from BTC. They should be tied to fiat, so they all have their own price based off their own merit, rather than just reflect BTC's success or failure.

Nobody is going to invest a great deal of money in alts while the market is still in decline, and BTC is still struggling.

Nothing is going to take off while BTC is still not performing. It's going to take some time for the market to recover. It was a nice bump though, just a shame it'll be absorbed by a falling BTC.

I see all my investments as long-term, so I'm not at all bothered by the prices right now.

Glad you're here. These people would have driven me to madness if I had to reply every time to the same ridiculous FUD. I always bite. So thanks for your input here, it's very much appreciated.
