221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: March 14, 2018, 07:47:16 AM
Bitcoin trading these days has become so rucreative that I am tempted to quit my present job which is not giving me enough time to explore more out of bitcoin world...

What's your take on this, should I go ahead and quit?

Thanks
For me it is not a good idea considering the fact that bitcoin is greatly known to be a very risky job. There's no assurance that you will always earn money from it every day or month so it is still necessary to have a day job while doing bitcoin so that it can save you whenever you are having trouble with your job on bitcoin. Just be careful and wise on making decisions to avoid disappointments and regrets.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about btc future on: March 14, 2018, 07:09:20 AM
I see a lot of optimism about bitcoin, which is understandable seeing the price recently.
But I have to admit I'm a little worried about the long term future of btc.
The major problems if the currency still haven't been dealt with. I see 2 major ones:

-Block size. Which makes the delay and fees of transaction rise very fast. Smaller transactions are more and more difficult to make.
-The centralization of the market. China got low cost electricity, which make them by far the most bitcoin mining capable.
-And maybe others that I'm not aware of.

Another thing: The Hard forks that are oddly getting much more frequent than before. (BCH, BTG, Segwitx2 etc...) It almost looks like "attacks" in order to divide us. Now called "airdrops" by the community. Even though they're supposed to solve some of the problems.

All in all, this makes me really worried about btc future. I've been a strong holder since 2014, and I made quite a lot of money with bitcoins, but I begin to doubt now, even though the price is crushing ATM. Please help me keeping faith. Or should I switch to another currency ? Really thinking about ETH recently.
We are all hoping for the best of bitcoin since it has given a lot of benefits for a very long time. I am always worried about bitcoin's future because having it going down or loosing it out completely would definitely make a great impact to my life. Bitcoin has been a very great way for me to earn large amount of income so loosing it would definitely make me go back to my old back once again. Let us just keep our hopes high for bitcoin always and believe that it would stay strong through the ages.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I Wait or Invest On Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2018, 04:01:54 PM
I am newbie on bitcoin, recently introduced with the community. I have seen a lot of positive feedback about bitcoin investment. I am not interested do business or trade on market. I want to used it for long term investment only. Some people suggested me anytime is good for invest on bitcoin but I want to do it wisely. If you have some idea of the market and analysis kindly do it for me.
On my opinion, waiting would not be a big of a deal anymore right now because the value of bitcoin is changing quickly over time. The best thing to do right now is to start investing on bitcoin already as soon as you can so that you wouldn't miss out anymore on the latest happenings within. Waiting would not give you any benefits but entering bitcoin as early as possible would do so I think.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: March 08, 2018, 03:45:44 PM
Most people now with the rise of bitcoin value, just want to hold bitcoin for as long as they can so that they can maximize their worth. But isn't it a little too greedy to just keep holding bitcoin?
We've all read that story in the school with the moral "Greed is a Curse".
So what if too much greed in bitcoin may backfire? What if, the hodlers end up with nothing?
We all have different sort of needs in our lives and even the way we hold our bitcoin varies depending on our situation. You can call it selfish all you want but we all live different kind of lives and we tend to be greedy for our loved ones good too. All of us makes up decision that causes someone to be pulled down just for us to rise up. Bitcoin is profitable and it depends on us on how we are going to make the most of it.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin loses its popularity ? on: March 08, 2018, 03:27:44 PM
Right now there are more coins available in the market which gives you more profit than bitcoin.
Bitcoin price is also not stable.
All these factors affect its popularity ??
What you think, still bitcoin is more popular ?
Bitcoin has gained its popularity for a long time and all of its hardships really paid of after all these years. Everybody was doubting its capability at the beginning but as years passes by, it showed its true color by making it to the top and dominating for a long time up until now. It would take a long while to bring bitcoin down and I think its popularity will continue to increase as new cryptocurrencies arise behind its fame.
226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its too late to invest in Bitcoin! on: March 08, 2018, 03:09:55 PM
With the high price of Bitcoin, I think its unwise to invest your money in bitcoin at this point in time. Maybe it's better to look for other Altcoins being offered in the Market. What do you think?
No it's not. Actually, it is a good time to invest on bitcoin right now since the value has fallen down a lot lately. Investing on bitcoin while the value is still low would give you a lot of advantages and benefits as time passes by and as the value rises up back again. Though that's the case, you should still be aware and mindful of your surrounding so that you can avoid any unfortunate events that may possibly occur.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do We Need Social Media Promotion on: March 08, 2018, 02:52:33 PM
Does Bitcoin Need The Social Media's Help To Promote Itself?

Well, Bitcoin needs all the help that we can get. With its current situation, Bitcoin Foundation is just thinking out of the box to help Bitcoin recover and might even succeed.

With the help of Social Media, bitcoin can attract new and young users. Learn about bitcoin and eventually adopt it.

Maybe this is the first step of mass adoption.

What do you think?
We don't necessarily need it but it would really be a great help if ever it would happen that bitcoin is promoted in social media. It is a very influential platform which will surely spread the news all over the world rapidly in just a short span of time. Although that's the thing, we should not fully rely on it because anything is possible within that platform wherein fake news and undefinite informations may dessiminate.
228  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: March 08, 2018, 12:05:17 PM
I have read some posts and some concerns that it is the volatility of Bitcoin that is preventing many people and many businesses to fully adopt Bitcoin. This can be the main factor why big online shopping stores are not yet adding Bitcoin into their payment facilities (though there is now a circulated petition for this but I doubt if it can make a dent).

Some are really saying that if volatility can be managed then we can see Bitcoin going mainstream. I am wondering then: Is volatility something that we should find a way to control and how do you think it can be done?
I don't think so, bitcoin's volatility will always be there no matter what happens and it will be uncontrollable since there's no one who handles it definitely. The only way we can contribute on improving its value is through staying faithful and keep on demanding it continuously. Always be careful on spreading knowledge when it comes to bitcoin and avoid making mistakes on spreading the news about it.
229  Economy / Economics / Re: Where do you spend your money from Bitcoin? on: March 07, 2018, 04:56:41 PM
Today's economy is either rising or falling depending on the consumers and sellers. If you join the Bitcoin, there is a high probability that you will gain something from your money because there are a lot of opportunities here. So my question is, "Where do you usually spend your money that you have gained here in Bitcoin?"
I don't usually spend my money from bitcoin but whenever I am spending it, I always make sure that it is something important or whenever there's an urgent need of money. The only thing I spend the most of my bitcoin is for investing wherein I was always able to recieve high amount of profit in no time. Earning bitcoin was never an easy task that's why I always make sure that I am only spending it for things that are really important and has sense.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: March 07, 2018, 03:34:01 PM
I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?
Why not? I mean, it would definitely help in improving its popularity among nations if ever this thing would occur. We all know how influential advertisements in televesion is right now specially for those countries that prioritize their entertainment section. There's only two things that may happen if bitcoin ends up in the commercial, its either people will criticize it or will give it a try and support it leading to the increase of users here.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we support altcoins ? on: February 28, 2018, 05:47:11 PM

From a "lets make the world a better place perspective" should we support only bitcoin right now or altcoins also?

I think we should support them too since they have a great contribution too on why bitcoin is very famous nowadays. Another thing is the fact that there are some altcoins there too that can defeat bitcoin in no time that's why it would really be a good thing if we are going to start on investing on it so afterwards we can still benefit even when the bitcoin is already gone.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing? on: February 28, 2018, 04:37:21 PM
Steam dropped bitcoin support citing "high volatility" as a motive.

When amazon stock jumped from $18 to $1,200 over a period of years, was this high volatility a bad thing?

If bitcoin's value increases from $6,000 to $16,000 over a period of months, and HODL'ers benefit, this high volatility is bad?

Where does the idea of high volatility being an unnecessary evil come from?

Are there good arguments or evidence which support the concept of high volatility being a negative circumstance?

In a sense, volatility simply means the price of something moves a lot, its not that bad if the vast majority of motion is in an upward direction?

 Huh Huh Huh
For me it is not a bad thing if ever the volatility is leading you to a higher profit. Soem people think that it is a bad thing to have bitcoin as a volatile currency while some think that it is a great factor in attracting more investors. As time passes by, more and more people are going in bitcoin to invest hoping that the volatility will somehow help them become more successful in the future.
233  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you should Buy bitcoin now on: February 28, 2018, 03:21:41 PM
So much so that 15% of banks world wide expect to widely implement blockchain, which is a ledger of transactions updated in real time by various institutions, by next year, according to the report which surveyed 200 global banks.

These banks, mostly medium to large-sized institutions, are focusing their blockchain technology on three areas: consumer lending, retail payments, and reference data, which refers to the real-time information sharing of transactions across business divisions and institutions.

In four years, IBM says that 66% percent of banks expect to have blockchain in commercial production and at scale.

We have all seen bitcoin's value going down this year and many people started investing on it once again for the sake of recieving more profit as its volatility bites up once again in to going up. If you would be careless in buying bitcoin or for instance, you've bought it at a high price, you will surely end up regretful for the reason that instead of getting more benefits, you will loose some of your money.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: Why did you choose bitcoin? on: February 28, 2018, 01:07:47 PM
Hey all,

I’m conducting a research on cryptocurrencies and I’m especially interested in why people choose Bitcoin. And since you are bitcoin users/experts, I thought you would be the best people to ask. It would be great if you could take the time to answer my questions (anonymously), I promise it will take no more than 10 minutes.

Thank you.
Bitcoin is a good way to invest your money. It can make your money grow rapidly in just a short span of time. It has a value that it's volatile that's why many investors ended up getting attracted to it. Many people are already going crazy on it due to its great features that has been a good thing to make people like it more. Bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency I have ever seen.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: February 27, 2018, 05:21:19 PM
What are the chances of living in a world with no actual money ?  Shocked
It can happen anytime soon but we should still consider that bitcoin would be nothing if it wasn't for fiat money. Bitcoin can start revolutionalizing but still if the governement would disapprove, you should get yourself ready for finding those who are accepting it to buy different things with the use of bitcoin. Our world is still innovating that's why there would be chances that bitcoin would make fiat disappear already.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: February 27, 2018, 04:49:01 PM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.
Bitcoin in college will surely be a great help for the community so that we can avoid unnecessary situations caused by those who does not have that much knowledge about bitcoin. This can help us make sure that we really know how we are going to earn here and how we can benefit the most in here. Bitcoin in college should be mandatory if ever it becomes legalized worldwide.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: February 27, 2018, 04:34:41 PM
Like every other investment such as real estate, stocks and other forms of investment we know that you can invest in that kind of things and then you get something like say a Certificate or a Binding Document as a proof that you are part of that investment, now that of bitcoin all you have is just your address, your password, key and seeds as proof of the ownership of the wallet.

BTC

So now if one is considering buying bitcoins and saving for his/her children in the future is there any way to do that with bitcoins apart from having to write down your details somewhere. I'm asking because with that kind of stuff if no one knows your seeds or password no one can get the coins. Huh Huh Huh
I have been working hard here so that I can give my family a better life. It would be a great relief if this thing would be taken care of and we can all make sure that all of our earned bitcoin will go to the people who are closest to our heart. I have experienced a lot of hardships here and I am really hoping that someone would take over in this and work it out to make sure that my family would recieve my bitcoin after dying.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not invest in bitcoin if you don't know anything about it on: February 27, 2018, 04:15:01 PM

Bitcoin is a global craze. Even farmers, students, the older, housewives ... who are don’t know what is blockchain also buy bitcoin. Because there are so many new investors investing in it in the hope of making a big profit. But actually that is not investing that is gambling.  Roll Eyes
I do not prevent you investing to make money but invest wisely. Especially do not put all the property into bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Hope people do not blindly participate in this gamble. Grin
I agree. We should be atleast knowledgeable on the things we are doing here so that we can benefit the most from it. I have seen a lot of people already failing due to the fact that their knowledge is not enough for the them to make it through and earn properly. If you are clueless here, you will surely end up with some scammers, frauds and hackers and they are everywhere.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the classroom, yes or no and why? on: February 22, 2018, 02:49:37 AM
This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?
I agree. Bitcoin is a systematic currency and it requires quite great knowledge so that you can really gain a lot of benefits from it. As we all can see, plenty of people think that bitcoin is just a simple job you can go to whenever you are needing money but little did they know that you should atleast be knowledgeable if you really want to earn big in here and it should not be disregarded.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 21, 2018, 11:35:46 PM
It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

I don't think that is so near from happening. Banks and bitcoin are actually in good terms right now. The transactions and convertion of bitcoin into fiat money. Maybe somewhere in the future, bitcoin will replace all the banks for the convenience of everyone. As time passes by and as bitcoin innovates, the chances that bitcoin will replace bitcoin will increase.
