I also do not have chips ordered and am interested in the k1's. If I were to buy a few would you be able to provide the chips and up the total price a bit or is it essential we provide the chips?

I am looking into the feasibility of doing this. I will determine if there are those willing to sell small amounts of chips to me. (or large amounts if the depending upon the orders)

Thanks..you seem to really be on top of things. Hopefully I will be able to buy a few k1s when the time comes.

That's reasonable...We should work on finding someone who is willing to organize the group buy then. Cheers for the great explanation. I just think that the prices scared me a bit.
223  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 10, 2013, 01:03:50 AM
The chip is part of the cost, but it is a small part, if BTC goes up,the price of the miner will go down, except for a small bit that is based on the chip, still don't have clue 1 what manufacturing actually costs right now so i Said 0.6 ($70) for bulk orders.

I'll price them in USD I guess

1 - $100 each*
10 - $75 each*
50 - $ 70 each*
100 - $60 each*
*Add 0.1 BTC to price for the chip

(ex. If you want 10 miners and if BTC cost 100 USD, it would be 7.5 BTC + 1 BTC + shipping total.
ex. If you want 100 miners and if BTC cost 200 USD, it would be 30 BTC + 10 BTC + shipping [possibly free])

All orders will be in BTC, the final price will be decided in BTC when I have them in hand based on the BTC price at that time.

Still rough estimates. still don't know what they'll cost to manufacture. I got in on a relatively early avalon order and hope they are done fast. If they cost less to make or there is little demand by the time they come in, the price will go lower. Same is true for the opposite.

So what ever happened to your below $100 promise you made at several points in this thread. I thought that the prices would obviously include the chip since you already have them but is it going to be above 100 for 1 now because of the added .1 per chip?

touche, but I really prefer not doing small orders.

This is beginning to seem like you really have no idea what things are going to end up costing so why give people like me something to nitpick over by releasing these high prices? This was initially praised as the quarter stick for being a quarter of a hundred dollars but I guess we might have to rename it.

We do not need an argument of this kind at this moment. Nobody has sent assets to OP and I do not believe anyone will until he proves he is capable of manufacturing and a few people test the waters.

Again, retard, you are yourself only and you do not represent anyone else except yourself, here or elsewhere. If you can't stand what I'm posting
here use ignore link bellow my name and one of your problems will be solved.

You see I would be much more willing to humor your nit picking of grammatical interpretations if you would be willing to be civil about it. Insults will get you nowhere in life. I think at this point one of your statements is actually appropriate. I agree that it is up to individuals to decide for themselves what is a good investment. While you may have been playing the devils advocate I still stand by my stance that the kind of argument you are making will be more detrimental to people's reputation who have not had a chance to prove otherwise than to have people decide on their own. I think your points would be received much better if you took the time to be courteous about them.
226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mitten Mining - K1: 0.3 BTC K16: 0.75 BTC K64: 3 BTC Assembly Services on: June 09, 2013, 10:55:06 PM
I get this could possibly be a scam but not everyone here is clueless. We don't need you going and ruining any productive discussion with arguments over if it is a scam or not that can only be put to rest in the coming months. I personally am not going to mail chips but am hoping that extra chips will be available to make k1's that I can buy for a markup. Escrow is a great preventative measure although not with the chips. We all understand the risks and I would personally like it if you could stop spreading your same old shit until someone has experience with them. Nobody has been wronged yet.

You might be smart enough to not fall on scams as easily as many here but you surely have a problem with way of thinking, namely that you
represent someone else as well as yourself and that someone apointed you for PR on the certain matters (OP maybe did that, yes). Another
problem you have is idea that I or someone else who thinks some deal is scam should be quiet until deal is proven to be scam. Are you really
that much retarded?

You can look through my history and see that I have been interested in buying a k1 for quite some time. You can also go onto reddit (same username) and see that I am not some throwaway PR manager. I just want a fucking usb miner. And I believe your way of thinking is flawed. Sure any of these opportunities on the forum could be frauds and everyone and their mothers know it. We do not need an argument of this kind at this moment. Nobody has sent assets to OP and I do not believe anyone will until he proves he is capable of manufacturing and a few people test the waters. You seem to be the guy that just looks for arguments on here and looking through your post history that seems like it is a lot of what you do on here. I get that and have many friends who do the same exact thing. In this situation your claims are just as bad as you are making OP's out to be. I think this thread should be focused more on the miner related dates, prices, and collaborations.

If you are going to purchase or have purchased an Avalon ASIC based mining board and are unsure of your ability to place and solder/reflow your board(s), we can do them for you.
If you have purchased Avalon ASICs in a group buy and need to place them on our fully assembled board, we can do that also.
If you have purchased Avalon ASICs in a group buy and need to place them on your fully assembled board, we can do that as well.

Your surplus ASICs can be used in-trade for services rendered.

If you you have a broken Avalon based mining board, we can remove and replace the Avalon ASICs for you.

I am an electrical engineer with many years experience in prototyping and testing automotive electronics. In recent years I have spent many months in China supporting PCB production and testing in automotive applications.

Since we really could be called a fabrication facility

Empty claims. Most likely yet another "send us your chips" scam. Trust -5 until deal is proven to be legit.

I won't mind getting some at 0.2btc each ..... Grin

maybe when btc is at 260 again lol
230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 09, 2013, 03:55:14 PM
I'll buy 200 @ 0.5 each to resell on my site.

I would be willing to buy for .6 if you did that but we need to see where the price is going to level out at. Hopefully it will pop back up to at least 115.

from a buyers perspective, if ur pricing mining equipment in BTC, price of btc:usd should really not matter... since these things are for mining bitcoins only, your ROI would always remain in BTC... skip converting to scam currencies Smiley

Their issue is that they have to purchase the raw equipment in fiat.

thats the sellers problem.

Right but if bitcoin goes to sub 90, sub 80, or even sub 70 these miners will be more expensive because of the cost it takes to make them

I'm happy to do small buys, the only hassle is shipping, but that's business....

K1's at 0.3 BTC

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=216952.0

That's not including the avalon chip which you have to provide to them. That's about .1 and then shipping is a hassle so all in all this buy is probably .1 more expensive with a bulk buy but this is so much more added convenience and probably will be ready faster.

Alright thanks...I think I'm only getting 2 anyways

Would this hub work in the 4 port version? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGQWL2/
235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 09, 2013, 01:13:08 PM
So if we got someone to buy all 550 would the price still be .6?

Edit nvm just saw that btc is at sub 100...ive been basing this on a  115 price
236  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 09, 2013, 03:40:27 AM
I just feel there is a better way than either putting the burden on someone else or having ridiculous markups for small orders. How much effort goes into the shipping of 500 units? I imagine the bulk of it would be the labeling and traveling to and from post office right? I still think prices should be able to have at least a small margin of allowing miners to make some profit here.

I don't think that having such a high price on lower amounts to discourage buying in low quantities is a good idea. This is supposed to be something where you don't have to be spending a lot of money to be a part of btc mining. Please don't make this another block erupter that will never return investment because that isn't what most of us are here for. We want to see profit (even minimal) in mining; not via reselling on ebay, bitmit, amazon, or whatever.
237  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 09, 2013, 03:04:07 AM
Someone should just groupbuy em all at .6 and then organize shipping them out...

**Cough** Arklan **Cough**
238  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 09, 2013, 02:48:29 AM
It's so much easier to ship to retailers though!

I think it'll be something like (Prices VERY subject to change...)

1@ BTC 1
10@ BTC 0.75
50@ BTC 0.65
100@ BTC 0.6

I think ~550 will be sold and the rest mining personally and be kept as part of a limited warranty (if it breaks in X months, I'll replace it. While supplies last.)

Max order for first X days will be 10 units maybe? after that, if there are still any left, it'll be open to 50 and then 100.  General strategy assuming all the costs stay the same and bitcoin doesn't dip to low.

I get that you are doing this to make profit off of the sales of these but I see no possible way someone is going to make back a 1 or even the .75 btc investment. I think this would be much better at .5 or under (without shipping costs of course)

I know I personally won't be interested at all even at the bulk prices.

You said it's easier to ship to retailers and I get that but not the extreme variance from 1 unit to 100 units..You aren't including shipping in these costs are you?

I mean a good example is arklan who had to ship out 300+ units at only a .1 markup of original price. 0.4 markup is absolutely insane and quite honestly I didn't even expect the units themselves to cost 0.4.
239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 1 Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner on: June 08, 2013, 02:36:42 PM
To clarify, I'm going to sell COMPLETED units to people when I get them made. I have ordered 592 chips in a group buy and am using them to buy and sell completed, ready to use, boards.

If they are anywhere around the $50 / 0.5BTC mark, I predict your entire batch of 592 chips will be gone in seconds.

Regarding this, do you think that an order limit of up to something like 10 k1's would be a good idea. This way people would be most likely mining with them instead of reselling for a much higher price like we saw with the block eruptors because anything over 10 and you would probably be better off just getting a k16. I just can see someone ordering 100 or so of these and then the rest of us scrambling to get one and having to buy one at a premium. I know this would be a bit of a nuisance for you but maybe we could have just a limit of 10 for the first day or so which would enable most people who want a small amount to get in and then after the first day people could start buying large orders and not take away the opportunity of many others.

Just and idea and thank you and BKK for setting this all up.

Thanks...I think I might go for 2 or 3 of the k1's instead of going all in on one of those
