61  Other / Meta / Re: Activity, Merit, Politeness, fMerit, Imagination, Virtue, Coins, Karma, Posts !! on: April 01, 2018, 12:07:03 PM
I guess it is part of an April Fool's joke as there are no buttons to click to add those "FMerits", "Politeness", "Imagination" and the rest unlike the Merit system. I got to say that the joke got me as I was scrolling through some threads and I noticed a lot of new stuff under Activity and Merit, first thing I did was to visit the "Meta" section and find out there are no official announcement about the system. Also I take a quick look at my profile page and there was nothing new. I was shook at first but its all good now. Nicely done Smiley

I have checked the forum for an announcement too but could found nothing in Meta section besides this topic.

April fools but are you sure?

fMerit - how many times you said something bad about Merit system.
Coins - special coins issued by Bitcointalk (ICO soon)
Karma- you will get karma (+ or -) for bad or good behavior on the forum
Imagination - issued by moderators, no rules attached as for now
Politeness- never try to argue with staff or other people

This is how I think it is. Do you think that I am right?  Wink

Based on your understanding about fMerit. I really don't think that it is the basis of fMerit. So it means that you said something bad about Merit 128 times? And why the hell I have 166 fMerit in my profile? I haven't said anything bad about Merit, Seriously.
Actually, I don't know if guys also noticed it. My fMerit points decreased in unknown reason. Earlier I have 327 fMerits but now I only have 166 fMerit points.

Here's my proof.

Edit. What the  Huh Now its back to 327  Huh
It makes me feel like I really need to find out how the equation works, because I have no idea how it fluctuates (or it is just a bug that's why is decreased earlier).

My fMerit is down again to 313.

I guess you are right, especially on fMerit. I noticed this new order a few hours after I made a new trade on how the Merit system has fared so far, and my fMerit stood at around 300 at that time. A few hours later it pumped to over 700. I feel like I walked myself into some trouble. Now I know that Merit is the best thing ever in this forum. Smiley

I see these new set of stats on my profile right now and that brought me to this thread. Can someone properly explain fMerits, karma and immagination, and how they count, please.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So Far ... How Has the Merit System Fared? on: April 01, 2018, 03:40:55 AM
The Merit System was introduced into Bitcointalk this year, with the intent and purpose of promoting sanity and good values in the forum. Right from its inception in late January 2018 till date the Merit System has become one of the highly debated subjects on Bitcointalk.org. Forum members who are already at the upper echelon of the forum and who may have little or no need for Merits seems to generally favour the system on the grounds of spamming and junk posts by desperate lower cadre members, while most lower cadre members who need to progress on the forum are not very supportive of a Merit system which ties a member's progression on the forum to the amount of Merits earned by a member. And earning Merits isn't so easy.

Now, it is somewhat difficult to tell whose voice is louder in the debate, and even more difficult to tell who has the more valid point of view. And how about a little statistics? A nice way to evaluate the performance so far of the Merit system towards achieving the set objectives would be a measurement of the impact of the Merit system on the forum, and forum traffic is one important parameter.
An overview/analysis  by Similarweb.com of total visits to  Bitcointalk.org on desktop and mobile web in the last 6 months shows a steady and gentle increase from a little over 20m in Sept., 2017 to over 60m in January, 2018, and then to a sharp and continuing decline to 34.5m in Feb., 2018. This decline is not just happenstance. It perfectly coincided with the introduction of the Merit System.
See stats https://www.similarweb.com/website/bitcointalk.org.

The likely implication is that the Merit system is demoralizing low cadre members who needs to attain higher levels of membership. However, some here may argue that a few meaningful member activities is worth more to the forum than much activities of little or no value. Be that as it may, we should acknowledge the fact that traffic is equally important in the web  ranking and worth of the bitcointalk forum. So, I think BCT Administrators should have a  reappraisal of the Merit System – carefully weighing anticipated benefits against perceived costs – and come up with a more effective, yet forum friendly solution to the problems. What do you think?
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sociall - a secure and private decentralised social network for all on: March 24, 2018, 04:02:36 AM
This project is active and doing all as stated in the whitepaper. Devs should keep in mind that there are so many projects out there doing what Social aims to achieve and even more. Sphere, Social Wallet and Social CXN are some of the projects that would compete with Social in most aspects. Timely completion of major milestones in this project is crucial for Social to remain ahead in the race as the first project to bring social media to the blockchain.

Thanks, Admin.
I have received my full reward for the ACO bounty campaign. It came much earlier than the previous.

I have registered for the closed beta.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED][POW]⚡ELECTRONEUM⚡Official Moderated Thread on: March 19, 2018, 01:21:00 PM
New Monero ASICs are hitting the news last few days, and since it's the Cryptonight algorithm they are mining how this will affect the ETN?
Both Bitmain and Baikal announced that Monero ASICs are coming to the market - Bitmain Antminer X3 and Baikal Giant N
This is rather big thing, so hope that Electroneum will be protected in a way otherwise it will crash the market, which is already unstable.

Richard and team failed to realize that timeliness is everything in the highly competitive crypto race. Not loud talks. ETN could have been in a better position now had the team not lagged in develnpment time frame. And it is obvious that the usual news buzz around ETN by Richard is no longer impacting positively on price. So, it's time to change tactics to keep ETN flying even higher.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED][POW]⚡ELECTRONEUM⚡Official Moderated Thread on: March 19, 2018, 06:37:43 AM
ETN is heading down to ICO price. It's a good time to buy and buy more ETN because this coin is sure to bounce up to the moon after a hard landing.

It will bounce back that is true. But not exactly to the moon.

Do you recommend an exchange from where I can buy?

Aside Crypthopia I don't know any other. P2P trade is the other option but that could be risky.

Hello,

Since Crowd Machine Apps will run interchangably on various blockchains what would be the code base of Apps created on the Crowd Machine platform? Will it be in the Solidity language or Python, Serpent or any other?

When will BNK be listed on hitBTC – in a month, 3 or 6 months time?
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CrowdMachine - The Worlds Most Advanced Distributed Computer on: March 14, 2018, 11:54:31 PM
This concept is magnificient. The solution is innovative. And the whole idea sounds great. Just captured my interest.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] ✅ ✅ ✅ [ANN] KICKSTARTER FOR BLOCKCHAIN | Acorn Collective ✅ on: March 14, 2018, 12:40:37 PM
This is Without doubt a solid project that can edge any competition on its own. However, a strong community is still crucial to the long term success of the OAK. So, a second bounty campaign for the main ICO would be ideal.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] BANKERA - the Bank for the Blockchain Era on: March 13, 2018, 11:20:06 PM

I believe team should work fast. The Spectrocoin increased the profit only and only because of the BNK coin. And if there is no volume in Spectrocoin Bnk will get/be useless. Not to mention there is also European Crypto Bank coming
https://www.europeancryptobank.io/

Their whitepaper partially reads like google-translated bad science fiction. Also, they list a defunct exchange like BTC-e as one of their competitors, but no mention of Bankera/SC?

And then there's this gem:

In 2008, Olivier Forgues (CEO of European Crypto Bank) faced the Money Laundering affair and the Large- Scale Tax Evasion, which was organized by UBS in France and across Europe and the USA.

Nope, staying out of that one.

ECB has a very high rating of 4.6 on ICOBENCH.

Our new whitepaper is live! 🎉

You can find a link to it on our home page.

https://sociall.io/
Great work! I rapidly browsed through the WP and it's nicely written and very explanatory.
I'd love to participate in beta-testing, such a pity the registration is closed now.

No worries, the registrations will open again just a few days into the closed beta! Smiley

Hi, Admin. Please I would like to know if I could join the closed beta with my Social account credentials. That is, with my pre-registered Social account.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] BANKERA - the Bank for the Blockchain Era on: March 12, 2018, 03:52:22 PM
All of you say that the bankera is a scam or you are dumb  or you have other interests. they covered me completely because everything they said  has done it with the above. and every week I get and my profit in etherium. So stop writing mischiefs because you did not get bnk. you are simply envious of all of you shitheads. only love... BANKERA.

From the whitepaper through it's implementation so far Bankera is a star project. Those crying scam are here on a spoiler mission and shouldn't be taken seriously. Let's asses this project by the performance so far, and not by what those detractors say.

Anyone want to sell his bnk coins? So when will be able to buy more?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] BANKERA - the Bank for the Blockchain Era on: March 12, 2018, 09:11:08 AM
I dont think it has to be erc20 token not to be scam. even if you think its a scam, its meaninless to come here and say its a scam. Just dont invest.
Still one question, isnt this erc20? Or is this using own blockchain? Kind of confused right here.

BNK tokens will be ERC20 and NEM mosaic tokens.

In that case will the erc20 and NEM versions have a concurrent exchange value, or will they vary independently in exchange prices?
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Anyone Recommend Good altcoin wallets? on: March 11, 2018, 07:56:47 PM
I just tried out Freewallet's multi wallet version and it's awesome.

Did you get your private key or seed phrase for your wallet? When your coin disappear without trace as many users who complained would you then say that it is awesome?

Yes, I got my seed. And like I said I just tried it out. I don't keep funds in Freewallet. I stick to cold storage for major bucks, MEW and ImToken for minnr transactions.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] BANKERA - the Bank for the Blockchain Era on: March 11, 2018, 05:59:33 PM
Bunch of greedy "investards" received absolutely useless and worthless tokens to their account and now are screaming how great this fucking scam is. Let me assume some facts.

1.Bankera is not a ERC20 token

2.Bankera is not listed on any public exchange until now.

3.There is no banking license for Bankera and they will newer get one because VISA, MASTERCARD, WaveCrest banned all operations with crypto. All major Banks are generally in opposition to cryptocurrency. If they notice that you are trading cryptocurrency there is high chance your account will be closed and your credit history will be blacklisted . Banks are not friendly towards cryptocurrency, to name a few: Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Deutshe Bank... That's why that dudes purchased a non working and useless bank in Vanuatu.

4. Their Whitepaper is nothing but a complete bullshit.

Over 100k contributors from the crypto world saw reasons to contribute over €100m of their hard earned monies to this project yet, you know better. I'd rather go with 100k plus.
