281  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's profit on: November 22, 2017, 04:35:35 PM
I heard people said that Bitcoin's profit is higher than profit of drug dealer, weapon dealers or profit of real property or any kind of stocks. Is that real ?

Money is being made quite well from bitcoin investments but definitely can't be compared with profits made from drug dealer, weapon dealers. Those have actually been in existence long ago and have a certain coverage of unending supply. This reoccurs even with the government/law trying to stop them from existing. Their profit like they do say is "blood money". Quite large and only estimated without mostly not getting a precise figure for profits made.

Also not to mention that they are completely different, bitcoin is mostly used as an asset and so accrues value over time. Drug lords etc have a business that generates them income. An average person cannot go and become a drug lord while they can invest in to bitcoin. In terms of growth bitcoin far exceeds everything I've come across.

I think thats gonna be a another rumors. It's not true. These dirty criminal jobs are way profitable in terms of money. People trying to compared these job into criminal action. Criminal action is directly getting not these job that you time to sell or buy so that you can earn.

Yes well while in growth bitcoin is much more, but the drug world is worth far more and generates much more profit. The drug trade will probably always be bigger than bitcoin, let's not forget that most of the drug trade is not accounted for and can only be estimated.
282  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Now with this tether hack bitcoin may go to 9k fast on: November 22, 2017, 04:31:00 PM
After the tether hack news earlier today, I believe that people will start shorting tether, causing an increase in bitcoins price that might go to 9k sooner than later. What are your thoughts?

Since Tether is the only issuer of tether coin, they can easily boost supply of the coin accordingly to the stolen/hacked amount. It does not represent a risk for tether. If there is some unusual price action on tether, it is just just a bumpy road.  Smiley

Sure, and that is the scary part in my opinion, boosting the supply, creating money out of thin air. I think this event will raise many questions about tether and we'll not like the answers.

And that right there is the problem many have with tether, Theymos (the highest ranked guy on this forum who's basically in charge) wrote some interesting posts about it just the last couple of days. With regard to the OP, tether collapsing will almost certainly lead to a fall in bitcoin price and definitely not an increase. Unless you are talking about BTC to USDT, but that will not be a good measure because if tether collapses then it will be worth nothing in terms of USD.

That's right any time the USD fails or a big cryptocurrency fails the BTC price goes higher. This is because they are all speculative and have no real long term value. Bitcoin is sound money and it's the universal ledger right now. You haven't heard it in the news, and you won't get a letter in the mail, but BTC is the universal ledger because it is immutable. No other money type can be that

I do not see that this is true, if a large crypto collapsed, say ethereum for example, this would lead to large panic in the community and many would cash out of bitcoin, this would cause the price to fall not increase.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: November 22, 2017, 04:29:31 PM
The marketcap of XVG seems much too high to me. The community is only shouting out how high price could fly every day. It is not all about price. Market cap is much more important guys. And this indicator seems really overhyped to me.

You're right, market cap actually determines price indirectly. I think really the market cap could go down to about 40m which would be a further halving of the price. Long term it can be exceeded but short term I think we just have to accept a low price.

I think we need to wait 2-3 years (at least), idk other solution to reduce the marketcap

There isn't one, the market cap can only be reduced by a price fall or a reduction of supply and the supply almost certainly won't be reduced. Therefore the market cap just needs to increase but for that to happen we need the project to become more successful.

287  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the lowest value you think bitcoin will fall to before the end of 2017? on: November 19, 2017, 10:04:25 PM
The value of Bitcoin has been on the upward trend in the last few weeks, what's the lowest value you think it will fall to before the year 2017 runs out?

I think we won't see bitcoin below 6500 before the end of 2017, probably not even below 7000 or even 7500. Unless there is some major bad news (which I don't think there will be) we have probably passed the worst now for this year. Bitcoin recovered rapidly after segwit2x and now seems to be in a position of strength.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum grow like bitcoin ? on: November 19, 2017, 10:01:39 PM
I believe everyone is aware of Ethereum and it's unbelievable pump which we witnessed in mid of June this year and all i am wondering is will Ethereum be the contender for the most reliable crypto currency ? is Ethereum the next big thing ?

Ethereum has already grown an incredible amount much like bitcoin and it is already a big thing. In the long run it can be a contender for bitcoin, right now it's about 1/4 of the size of the market cap. Ethereum cannot in my opinion now pump in the way bitcoin and ethereum did previously. The most we can expect is a year similar to this one of bitcoin where it increases 7 or 8 or 10 times its value inside one year.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kyber ICO on: November 18, 2017, 10:15:23 PM
Just how much was the ICO cost?

The ICO was priced at 600 tokens per 1 eth. It's now at about twice the ICO price but was as high as 6x within the first days of trading. I would expect to see the price rise once the exchange launches in february.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect on: November 18, 2017, 10:12:38 PM
I am looking through coinmarketcap and this has my attention.  This coin has went up to almost as much as ETH prices already.  The price of it earlier was very little like ETH yet there is very little discussion about this coin.  Is there a reason why?  I just noticed this coin starts the same word like bitcoin... in bit...

Is there a reason i don't find any topics about this coin?  This coin has soared very high yet there is almost no talk about it.  Is it possible for this coin to hit 1k or more?

Avoid it at all costs, it's a Ponzi scheme and it will eventually one day go bust. There are so many sites and social media influencers that promote it for their own benefit, it can only continue for as long as it can attract new foolish money.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Breaks NEW HIGH on: November 18, 2017, 09:59:00 PM
NEO Coin is on the launch to the moon now

May we know the reason of this?

Other altcoin is reaching the high also

Hsahare & Bitcoin Cash, im confused now

There was some news about some big news to come in 3 days time, I believe that was due today or tomorrow so may have been announced by now, that's probably the reason, unless a lot of people also have some insider information about China's plans for regulating ICOs
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICO for November/December on: November 18, 2017, 09:56:37 PM
What's your budget? You can join multiple ICO's because there are too many new and good ICO's coming. You can invest IDEX, R_block, Clout, GMT etc. I believe IDEX most. They will be bigger exchange after ICO.

IDEX seem to have a really active dev team in terms of the community and are only looking to raise about $5m at ICO. I would not be surprised to see this sell out quite quickly, given that they already have a working exchange I feel their market cap could realistically be at around 3-4x that at least. They also have other plans for the future but I'm not too knowledgeable on them as it got a bit too technical for me.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: November 16, 2017, 10:52:02 PM
Binance added new coins. Volume is rising, so Binance price should do.
If Binance will be as big as Poloniex and Bittrex, their token price should be higher. Invest at your own risk.

The problem I have in terms of Binance is that I do not feel they adequately capitalised on their first mover status in terms of being the first to offer a token that offers some utility to users of the exchange, it is now common for many new exchanges and I feel they will eventually struggle as a new exchange with a better UI takes a lot of their custom.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old? on: November 16, 2017, 10:37:13 PM
What would you guys advise someone who is retired, living off pension and savings? Is it too late/risky to invest at that kind of age?
Do you guys think the elderly have a chance of jumping on the crypto train, or do you guys think it's too late for them to invest?

It's never too late to get started with anything, so they may die in 5 years, well they could still live those next 5 years much more lavishly if they invest in cryptos and it pays off. Many people have turned relatively small amounts in to life changing amounts inside of one year. Not to mention that many elderly persons will have children or grandchildren who they could leave any leftover money to.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: November 16, 2017, 10:33:14 PM
Generally I try to have very little regrets in life and that transfer in to bitcoin but I must admit I do have regrets sometimes about not entering earlier or for moving out money for something unavoidable. Maybe one day bitcoin will crash down to $1 and I will then be grateful for such things, who knows.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: Leveraged bitcoin trading? on: November 16, 2017, 10:16:29 PM
Can anyone recommend a good exchange to buy leveraged bitcoin?  I do not mean margin trading.  I do not want want to borrow money to buy more bitcoin and have to pay interest and worry about a cut off price (eg. BTC drops to less then 50% of your trade its auto-sold).  I want leverage.  Like a 3X ETF, it can goto to $1 and I'll still hold my position and pay no interest.  Broke, yes, obviously.

Any recommendations?

I do not know of anywhere that does leveraged trading without such a cut off, frankly it would be stupid for them to offer such a thing because the scenario you talked about happens very often in crypto and so the exchanges would constantly be losing money without some sort of insurance for themselves.
297  Economy / Economics / Re: do you think bitcoin is controversial ? on: November 16, 2017, 10:14:11 PM
as we know so many reason to make controversial bit coin currency in practical or real media sanitation. if  we observe very carefully  few past few years we have seen that  criminal activities  or occurrence  are occurred by the help of hackers and trader make it famous moving thousand of dollars outside by cheating  with government law enforcement for that reason value of bitcoin increasing very high. even they make money away from center bank and government unable to hold money from general people and through this process people convert this money into different things. i think this is enough for making controversial and what do you think about my think ?

Honestly I think people who say bitcoin is controversial because bitcoin is used in illegal activities are pretty clueless, the US dollar is the currency most used worldwide for crime, do they say that it is controversial? The only real difference with bitcoin is that it is easier for the 'little' guys to get away with criminal activities, whereas with USD or other currencies it takes money to be able to hire a good lawyer to correctly launder your money etc.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: Spending Bitcoins on: November 16, 2017, 12:43:09 AM
I have come across a few places that accept bitcoins as payment but I have never yet been compelled to do so and do not feel that I will. The problem is that due to the volatility in bitcoin it is hard to tell if you are getting a good deal or not without taking time to check the price and understand where it is at at that moment, for such reasons I prefer to use FIAT and instead keep my bitcoins.
299  Economy / Economics / Re: Where do you spend your money from Bitcoin? on: November 16, 2017, 12:36:41 AM
Today's economy is either rising or falling depending on the consumers and sellers. If you join the Bitcoin, there is a high probability that you will gain something from your money because there are a lot of opportunities here. So my question is, "Where do you usually spend your money that you have gained here in Bitcoin?"

For me most of the money I make around bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies is reinvested and that will continue to be the case until I have a substantial investment, at such a point I may start to draw some down and look to invest in to other areas or simply just to relax my financial stress somewhat.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing faith in BTC... on: November 15, 2017, 09:50:45 PM
Just follow Bitcoin hashrate and the number of ICOs that are using BCH to understand the situation. Anyways, there should only 1 crypto survive in the end of this long battle.

Why must only one survive? I do not understand why people believe that BCH and BTC cannot coexist, they both offer utility to their users in different ways and both rightfully have a place, of course maybe one will dominate but that does not mean the other should have no place.
