Where is the fractional lending? Perhaps I am missing it?
You can borrow bitUSD against XTS (BTSX?). You can only borrow up to 50% of your collateral (XTS) and if the value of the collateral drops the loan (short) is covered.
There is no fractional reserve. OP is posting without any knowledge of how BitsharesX is intended to work. In fact, the experiment is attempting to accomplish exactly the opposite of what OP is suggesting. Two of the major memes at their website are: The revolution will not be centralized. and Andrew Jackson's "I killed the bank"

Back down to 4th again. If you look at the BTSX charts it looks incredibly scary. This isn't going to end well at all.
Doesn't look "back down to 4th again" on any market I look at. As a matter of fact, IT'S HEADED FOR NUMBER 2 pretty darn fast.

Looks like the most bashed "altcoin", Ripple even with it's 90% premine, has relatively held its $40million marketcap compared to the other top 5 coins, which all came crashing down, Litecoin lost around half it's marketcap in less than a month, Dogecoin lost more than half it's marketcap in a month, NXT lost half, and Peercoin lost half. Odd isn't it?
I'd say that BistSharesX is holding its marketcap best of all (staying above $20 million), number 5.

Anyone know why bitsharestalk.org is down? Has it migrated somewhere?

I've got my fingers crossed.

Can anyone outline for me the advantages/disadvantages of having more than one TITAN account in my BitSharesX wallet? I seem to recall reading somewhere that multiple accounts might slow down the transaction times, but can't find it now.
On the other hand, having multiple accounts for various activities might make accounting sense and boost anonymity for some transactions.

If bitUSD works as hoped as an asset in BitSharesX it will change the world (for the better!). Merchants will be able to accept bitUSD directly from customers without a payment processor intermediary and not have to worry about the extreme volatility now prevalent in the cryptocurrency world.
There is a coming EUREKA moment just ahead.

Might be just a little classier to be famous for a "pizza jumpstart" over a "tampax jumpstart" But what the heck.

I am definitely taking PTS seriously. I am actually very surprised at how little the price is up with the snapshots less than 10 days out now. It has meant that I have acquired a stake very reasonably though. If even one of the new DACS is successful then I will do well. If both of the August 21st snapshot DACS do well then I will really be celebrating.

Is this DAC a pure public service, or is it meant to operate at a profit?

Updated snapshot picture. Has more info now.
Even I can understand the diagram now

Okay the logic in those last post pretty much seal the deal for me.
It's a scam with slick talkers trying to suck money out of whales.
Please explain the nature of the "scam" in your opinion. Simple, you get lots of people to buy your bitshares before it all crumbles. Mining has a very important purpose - that purpose is to keep control over the network de-centralized. That's basic, and that's what they are paid for. To try and frame it as a worthless drag on society, getting something for nothing, is slick talk. If the purpose of mining is to keep control of the network de-centraalized, then it has failed. Haven't you been watching the rise of giant mining farms and massive mining pools. My Block Eruptors that I paid good Btc for a little while after they came out are pretty well useless (as were the cards before them). Mining is an ineffective and resource wasteful way of securing a blockchain. M

+10 for those sharing the info on a potentially very good investment. I've been interested in looking at BitShares but I hesitated mainly because it seemed very complex
I got bored looking at it. If there is a reason for it to exist, I certainly did not grasp it, and the complexity bothered me too. I'll pass. Exactly what many people STILL say about bitcoin
