Any word on Adrenalin 18.5.1 improving hash rates over older drivers?
does for vega fe, 2200 - 2400 h/s, better than bc drivers I have two vega fes, do you use the same power play mod as the vega 64s? i have not tried the new drivers but with powerplau mod and the ulps hack im using same power play mods for all my cards No, there is no SoC limit so I whack the mem speed up as high as possible, haven't tuned for power yet you mean the mem setting on overdriven tool? what do you have it set to I've had my memory running at 1199 but long term stable at at 1145, currently added second water cooled fe and threadripper averaging 5.2Kh/s off 1107, just both memory settings moved up to 1130 to test with overdriventool

running at steady 2200h/s with 18.4.1 memory @1140 on vega fe with open loop water block, could go higher but haven't had time to fiddle yet. using xmr-stak, cast gave about 200h/s so gave up on that

I like to mine, but now I think that it is very risky to build a farm, but I really want to, I decided to make the project — "gaming computer", I want to mine on it, anthill it will payback, and then to play.
What are the best hardware to choose? Only two I am interested in, it is a graphic card and a processor:
The processor — I look at AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, it costs $ 240, makes 600 H\s on Monero, current profitability is $ 0.61 per day, the current payback time is 393 days.
Video card — Radeon RX VEGA 64, it costs $ 850, gives out 2050 H\s on Monero, current profitability is $ 2.5 per day, current payback time is 327 days.
What do you think? Is there any better hardware for a powerful gaming computer with less payback?
I have effectively similar system using 1950x threadripper with vega fe and 64GB ram (got Ram cheap) 1950x does approx 1200h/s untuned and vega fe does 2200h/s getting average 3.2kh/s pool side for $4.62 per day current price I have 3 other vega fe not added yet - all mine are water cooled though so I can push them easy I haven't tried gaming though but I guess it would be fast ? not sure about maiming though

bent cpu pins? easy to do on intel boards - happened to me, even when slightly bent they sometimes partially work but with strange errors eg not reading all memory or pcie ports
amd threadripper tr4 boards have a much better cpu mounting - more expensive though

Hmm, thought I would give it a try only getting 200H/s or less with vega fe, I was getting 2200+ before with another miner using 18.4.1
On start it says large pages not enabled so use switch-radeon-gpu -G 0 --largepages=on restart , I do that by running command from a batch file, screen flickers and it says done but when I run the run.bat it still says not enabled

does for vega fe, 2200 - 2400 h/s, better than bc drivers Hopefully this is the case for normal Vega's Thats the 18.5.1 pro driver, I guess the normal 18.5.1 is similar for 64's and 56's I don't have those - I watercooled mine to help keep temp cool

In case its of use to anyone, you can get 2200 - 2400+ H/s with Vega FE using 18.4.1 gaming pro driver and overdriventool works. Got mine on water blocks using risers, one running so far, 3 to go, not undervolted yet, overdriventool doesn't work on compute driver

Trying to build a budget rig. Is buying below on ebay a bad idea? a)Motherboard (Asus prime Z270) b) CPU (Celeron 3930) c) RAM (any 4 GB) d) PSU (corsair 1000/1200 watt) e) GPU (mostly used RX 4xx/5xx
having bought and sold its usually the seller who comes off worse as ebay always sides with the buyer for electricals even if you sent a working component and you suspect the buyer fried it, they just have to say it didn't work and ebay takes the money from your account. I haven't had a problem buying other than 1 gpu was a bit of a dog speed wise (gigabyte) but it worked reasonably so couldn't complain

But a lot of cryptonight miners are just clones of existing reference algorithms to my eyes, eg blake256, keccak etc. Most of the innovation is around usability and deployment rather than optimising of mining algorithm to improve performance.
Personally I'm not bothered about logging, monitoring etc, I'd rather have a 10% faster miner or one that uses 16gb on a vega frontier. I turn the monitoring off, the only thing I look at a couple of times a day is the pool but each to their own.

if you aren't fully paranoid just read the online reviews and pick one to your budget, if you are then get an enterprise grade fortigate with zero day AV for about a grand and use both

anyone have a good optimization for cryptonight heavy or light for vega 64? I get 2k hash on regular cryptonight but I get around 1400h/s on cryptonight heavy and 16600h/s on cryptonight light
Regular Vega 56s and 64s do only about 1400-1500h/s on CN-Heavy. The exception are Vega Frontiers. They do 2350H/s on CN-Heavy. Vega Frontiers are the kings on all the cryptonight algos. thanks for the tip, got 4 and currently mining Monero. After I water cool them next week will try CN-Heavy

OK a not so serious suggestion, I have an asus TR4 board with threadripper x1950
downside not many pcie slots compared to some but plus side my own compiled miner runs for weeks/months with vega and no hash drop
4 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (single@x16, dual@x16/x16, triple@x16/x16/x8 mode) AMD X399 chipset 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4 (max at x4 mode) 1 x PCIe 2.0 x1
plus side its a tasty pc should I wish to use it for that
(I prefer it to my old i7 board)

how do i get vega frontier edition to work properly?
I've tried 1703, 1709, using blockchain drivers, 17.2, 17.1 various registry files but for some strange reason,
I keep getting code 43 when i manually disable enable vega FE in dev mgr or it enables and hashes at 1500h/s
clean install of blockchain drivers on windows fall edition, set 2 threads at 2016 disable and re-enable Vega FE in windows device drivers, set overdriven tool settings to normal params (mem to 1100 to 1107) including fans and mine away works for me? Are you using risers? Not at the moment but I have in the past, 2 FE in a threadripper moboard (I presume you have seen the geekmark video and howto https://youtu.be/B9_5z6GbwV0 )

Ok, I'll bite since no one else wants to...
The site is weird. If they had something like that and it was affordable, why would they go to market like they seem like they will?
They also don't talk like miners, I know that doesn't matter, but it is weird.
I didn't see a price. If it was real and cheap... why make a router and not just put 10 of these together?
The Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ mentioned is nearly £5K for the chip alone if you google for a price https://www.xilinx.com/products/silicon-devices/soc/zynq-ultrascale-mpsoc.html

To many people lost money To many regulations To many new tax laws Will take another 4 years for a "new" crowd to come in an invest To many exchanges robbed people
Over all everyone is now turned off by crypto, maybe 2019 might be better but this year is all about 1080tis costing $1000+ and barely making $1, coins with 1-3 month life cycles
I came in at the beginning of the bubble watched it rise and now I seen it burst. Say it after me crypto is dead in 2018
To misquote a 1980's punk album Crypto's Dead? Nah, Mate, The Smell's Jus Summink In Yer Underpants
