OverdriveNTool + SoftPowerPlayTables is best solution today for ref Vega's.

Does anyone have SoftPowerPlay table for more than 1100MHZ for Vega 64 like 1125 or 1150?

You don't need custom byte changing in SoftPowerPlay for > 1107mhz hbm if you use 18.3.4 driver. It is needed only for old AUG blockchain drivers. If you still need it check original source of this mod http://www.overclock.net/forum/67-amd-ati/1633446-preliminary-view-amd-vega-bios.html

I can confirm to anyone interested that running wattman in newer adrenaline drivers and setting -20% power along with manually setting clocks for the higher two p-states does not save as much power and heat as using the old power tables from the guide.  Loading the power tables, using the same clock settings in ODT, saves me at least 50w and cuts down on heat output for my xfx vega 64.

Those of you mining with cast-xmr are you using xmr-stak for cpu mining or is xm-rig a better option there?  I've been thinking of trying cast since everyone seems to swear by it as far as hash rates go it is supposed to be faster than xmr-stak.

With Cast or SRB, I get between 1330 to 1390, with a few peaks above 1400Hs, on 3 of Vega 56 reference cards. But they have the 64 BIOS.
I run the power table and Andrenalin drivers. Power consumption is between 140W to 160W at the wall.
So with 2 of them you should have 320W plus 80/100W of system stuff, total of 400/420W.
The 550W will do, although it may become a bit tight over time.

...the miners change and my intensities dont work, odnt dont work.

xmr-stak?
'
xmr stak
and xmr aeon stak
Try SRBminer with intensity 112. its working fine. or use CastXmr.
Why xmr-stak?!

because of its integration with the JJ's hash monitor. I never figured out the cast xmr;s UI that sets hash rate thresholds.

anyway I did use cast xmr and got similar hashrate. Not sure where the problem is. Using win 10 1709

Go back and look on the Cast thread for StellarX88's modified JJ hash monitor script.  That works with Cast + JJ hash monitoring, and works very well.

JJ has released closed source precious Guardian too to work around this too. As of now I am still using the one I modified myself for both Xmr-stak & Cast-Xmr. Let me know if you need assistance to set it up on your rig.

Hi Stellax88,

I have seen your post on cast-xmr on hash monitoring. are you still using it after the monero 7 fork?

can you share your script?

Hi, sorry for late reply, didn't browse this thread for a bit. Yes, I am still running the modified JJ script monero 7 fork, even though with the new driver chances of hash drop is lower, it's still a failsafe to run it. Hit me up on Skype @ mo.jin.ee if you need direct assistance/modification with the script.

This is the version that I shared: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TnicWxpB1TtGQCe_cuXND8ha-XsgQsU1

I have a somewhat updated and modified version pre Precious Guardian that I am running now, but I don't think there's much difference there.

Thanks Stellax. have you tried SRB miner? it is giving me about 80 - 100kh/s more than cast or xmr-stak.

4 Vega 56 with 18.3.4 driver @ 1508/950mhz -> 705Watts from the wall(whole system)
2 reference vegas with samsung memory
2 red devil vegas with hynix memory
the slow gpu have monitor plugged in, its somehow slower on heavy with monitor

I had to apply them, otherwise the value I set in the OverdiveNTool was not used which lead to higher power draw und lower hashes...
...but maybe I messed something else up and didnt noticed. Smiley

In case its of use to anyone, you can get 2200 - 2400+ H/s with Vega FE using 18.4.1 gaming pro driver and overdriventool works.
Got mine on water blocks using risers, one running so far, 3 to go, not undervolted yet, overdriventool doesn't work on compute driver

I changed GPU clock to 1490,907 and now I get 1540HS on the Vega 64 and 1415Hs on the Vega 56, run stable for more than 12 hours so far, using Cast.
Strangely the Wattage at the wall did not change at all, for 4 cards+ system it pulls about 720w.

Let's bring this question up again. Does anyone have any info regarding the xfx vega 56 double? What memory brand they come with and is the cooling solution enough for heavy use? Thanks.

You are welcome. No, I haven't try SRB miner. Since I am only running one GPU, I am okay with tweaking around using Cast-XMR & XMR-Stak with the hash drop script alone. When I am into toying around with fine tweaking my GPU, I might consider modifying it accordingly with SRB Miner as well. I have already accepted the fate of Hynix memory hashing a tad lower than Samsung. Cheesy
