381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CPU mining] Yenten [YTN] [Exchange avilable BTC/YTN] on: November 12, 2017, 04:37:52 PM
Just a question to all here.

IS it that everyone mining with client and  making setgenerate= true ?

Or I need to use the miner provide ? any difference in performance?

With I3 old machine laptop I am getting 280hasespersec.  How many Coins I get with That in 24h  Smiley

I've been mining this coin with 3 computers since it launched 2 weeks ago. Based on my experience mining solo, 280 h/s will get you about a block a day, or 50 coins. I have a combined hashrate of around 1500 h/s total and mine 5-6 blocks a day on average.

...

So, this coin has been launched by a six-year-old kid?

oh i see you don't need any help with your english when you're fudding.

this forum never ceases to make me laugh.

my favorite thing about this coin is that the normies understand the sarcasm and the joke, and the people who fud and poke fun at it by trying to take it seriously, well, let's just say those people make themselves too obvious and they dont even realize it. reminds me of pepe tbh.

I am not fudding at all. Maybe you didn't understand the point. What could be my interest in spreading FUD about a newborn coin?
I am interested in CPU coins since I started visiting this site. I have mined some coins since late 2013, and this is the first one I see that could achieve a fair distribution among the miners (at least whereas there is no GPU / ASIC miner for it). I started mining this coin at block ~300, and currently, at block ~9600 I am getting a similar amount of coins. This is great news: No premine, no ridiculous low diff at firsts blocks, i.e. even distribution.

What worries me is the lack of information on the main page. Maybe there is some kind of sarcasm that I do not catch, but I am worried because my resources are really limited: Just three low end computers (one desktop + two latops which give me 50~60 coins a day) and a few free minutes every day. I wouldn't want to be wasting such a few resources with something that ends up being a joke.

So, the only thing I am asking for is just a few more information and plans for the coin. No FUD!

It could be a joke, but that doesn't mean the coin won't be worth anything. Sometimes the joke coins are the most interesting and are actively traded (e.g Dogecoin). I think CPU only coins will become more and more common as everyday people push back against the ASICs and GPU farms.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ROI] ROI Coin | CPU Only Solo Mining | 8% Staking APR | 400% Term Deposit APR on: November 11, 2017, 05:55:27 PM
My latest problems here since some time, when i'm in solomining:
[2017-11-11 18:35:11] HTTP request failed: The requested URL returned error: 500 Internal Server Error
[2017-11-11 18:35:12] HTTP request failed: Couldn't resolve host 'Ók~'
[2017-11-11 18:35:12] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

Do you know, what the problem is  Huh ?

To solo mine you need to run the daemon (wallet) along with the miner. This is because the miner has to be able to see the full blockchain.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CPU mining] Yenten [YTN] [Exchange avilable BTC/YTN] on: November 11, 2017, 05:48:22 AM
whats the best mining configuration for cpuminer? been fiddling around with it and getting around 750hash

thats probably standard for a 4 core but man, 5 coins an hour feels so slow lol

That seems about right for your hashrate. The difficulty seems to fluctuate from day to day so some days will pay better than others. I run half of the available threads as it gives me about the same h/s as running them all.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CPU mining] Yenten [YTN] [Exchange avilable BTC/YTN] on: November 11, 2017, 12:58:09 AM
Girls, kids, plz get out now.

Since I'm not a native English speaker, would you mind to explain me what exactly "girls" mean? I mean, when you say "girls", you mean women or just "female children"?

On the other side, that sentence seems to be all technical data available about this coin so far. Sincerely, I am expecting some additional information being released at anytime soon...

can someone who is not a newbie post these geeze

So, this coin has been launched by a six-year-old kid?

It's a joke, lighten up. I prefer fun, interesting coins like this over the 100 all-important ICO scam coins that pop up every day. It reminds me of the early days of crypto...
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: November 11, 2017, 12:52:53 AM
im done with all  these shit tokens.
I'm starting to think the same thing myself.  Even submitting form info is a waste of time as little as it is because very few of them even bother sending you anything.

I know right, i have applied for so many airdrops and only a handful bother to send anything. Most are just phishing scams so that they can get your email address to try and send you crap to steal your myetherwallet password. Iv'e gotten good at detecting the ones that won't send me anything now and don't even bother with most of the airdrops. Have to be selective nowadays.

I'm just wondering, what exactly do you observe that helps you to detect the ones that won't send anything?

I wouldn't bother with the ones that have no decent website, no information about the people behind it, and no roadmap/whitepaper. I can forgive some spelling mistakes given that many have English as a second language, but sometimes they can't even spell the name of their own shit token right. That should eliminate 90% of airdrops.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining 2017? on: November 10, 2017, 11:23:44 PM
Yes, you can make profit if you mine the right coins. I have a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU (OC'd to 3700) and a cheap $100 GFX card and make ~$40 profit a month mining Monero. I recently switched to Sumokoin though for quicker payouts and growth potential. Hashrate is 900 h/s for both coins.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: November 10, 2017, 10:20:57 PM
how do i get into all these airdrops and how does it benefits me

You read the ANN, do the social media requirements, fill out the Google Docs form, and hope the coin is actually worth something.

Quote
Asian Coin is a worldwide crypto currency and digital payment system called the first decentralized digital currency, since the system works without a central repository or single administrator. It was invented by Indian Bitcoin Ltd. in London, maintained by a group of passionate programmers worlwide and released as open-source software in 2017. The system is peer-to-peer, and transactions take place between users directly, without an intermediary. These transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a block-chain.

What the hell are you taking about?

I think they're trying to say they invented blockchain technology. Not to mention a 50% premine, is this a joke ANN?

what's going on with crypto? it keeps going down..

Probably just market correction after everyone bought back into alts since Segwit2x was cancelled.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CPU mining] Yenten [YTN] [Exchange avilable BTC/YTN] on: November 10, 2017, 02:59:42 AM
It's CPU-friendly coin, sounds interesting. My question is, has Yenten still been profitable for miners? If yes, I will definitely join the party. Thanks all.
my only concern with this coin is that it takes up 99% of cpu power when only the wallet is running and even when it is not syncing. is this normal? i would like to know.

Are you sure that your wallet is not mining?

I think i see what you mean. if i close minerd it still runs at 100%, but if i delete the yenten.conf and restart the wallet then it doesn't use all that cpu. thanks.

You probably had gen=1 set in the yenten.conf. This sets the wallet to automatically start mining when you open it.

As a side note, I've found that I get nearly equal hashrates running on half of available threads as running on all of them. So you may be wasting your cpu power running at 100%. In addition, the algorithm seems to rotate between threads at regular intervals when you set it this way(so for example for a 4 thread machine set to 2 threads it will run on threads 1 and 2, then 1 and 3, then 3 and 4, etc. randomly). I'm not sure if this is unique to this algorithm or is how yescrypt also works, but it's interesting.

Yeah I did have gen=1. So was my miner going slow because of that? I've been finding a lot of blocks so maybe it didn't matter.

You're right about the threads. On my i7 it looks like it maxes out at 4 threads:
1 thread = .23 khash/s
2 thread = .23 khash/s each thread, .46 khash/s total
3 thread = .17-.19 khash/s each thread .54 khash/s total
4 thread = .14-.16 khash/s each thread .6 khash/s total
5 thread = .12 khash/s each thread .6 khash/s total
6 thread = .10-.11 khash/s each thread .6 khash/s total

So what is limiting the hashrate?

My guess is the algorithm itself. The dev appears to have designed it this way on purpose to provide limiting rewards for running many threads at once. He wants the coin to be CPU mineable on an average computer so this makes it a bit like the Magi (XMG) coin in that super powerful systems provide limiting rewards. Or it could be something completely different, I have no idea.

how many tokens in total are you issuing?

84,000,000, and they're not tokens. Why does nobody read the ANN before posting...?

I am still mining blocks occasionally with ~500 h/s so it's definitely still possible to mine solo.

define occasionally XD?

About 1 a day.

Hello, I like the idea of having a member's only club for only the 10,000 token holders. You mentioned that there are benefits such as VIP access to events, how will you make this work?
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: November 03, 2017, 08:53:40 PM
The same thing happened to me too... When I first joined the airdrops I received almost all of them, and that happened even being a Newbie on Bitcointalk. Now, as a Jr. Member I`m receiving less airdrops. And most of the airdrops are not classic "fill the form" airdrops, they are some kind of bounty - they require more tasks to do (join the telegram, follow twitter, retweet, even register on other forums and post there for a while) Angry So, I guess now there are many fake/ scam airdrops, that`s the only explanation.

I think most airdrops are not so easy now...we are basically doing Internet marketing for them for free hoping their coin will be worth something. Most companies hire a person to do Internet marketing full-time so they are saving lots of money by having us do all the work.
