81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: September 08, 2018, 10:36:04 PM
it is just me or it seems that tezos is not getting such a big hit in this price bloodbath ?

I think that too. TEZ has been relatively calm on the btc pair.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - Free Airdrop on: September 08, 2018, 07:16:39 PM
I guess it's time I find out definitively the proper nomenclature for the Semux protocol. Would it best be described as pure dBFT, some mix of dBFT and dPOS, or something else entirely? My understanding is with dPOS you elect validators that stake for you, and their order is usually random and they validate alone. With dBFT there is one validator that gets the block reward but you need 2/3rd consensus of other validators for consensus.

Another way I've seen it put:
dPOS: elect N witnesses, each witness produces 1 block on their own.
dBFT: elect N bookkeepers, 2/3 of all bookkeepers agree on what goes in every block.
dBFT sacrificing slightly more resources to be un-forkable.

So therefore Semux, with 100 elected validators and 2/3rd consensus, would be called pure dBFT, correct?

As I understand Semux is clear dBFT. You must accept the block if approve votes count > 2/3.
There are no such rule in the POS/dPOS. There are more freedom Smiley: you can build your own chain or join to a smaller chain (if there are any problems on the network).

One of the main and greatest features of Semux is transaction finality after ONE confirmation.
This is achieved via BFT in which there is no forking. Just think about it what it means and how amazing this is.

Semux and BFT forever!

i think that having only 100 validators is a centralised way to look at this business. but hell btc does not have 100 pools at the moment  Smiley

Bitcoin is very poorly decentralized and currently mined by only 16 pools. 6 of these pools account for 81.5% of the blocks in the last 24h.
So if we compare Semux it's actually very good decentralisation of mining and also gives all people a chance to participate via the delegate pools.

ETH under $250 good chance to buy more this is another golden opportunity nobody can't afford to miss. I think soon it will get recover this is just timely matter and only strong hands will take advantage of this drop.
First we'll buy 250, then we'll buy 200, and then we'll buy 150 .. a good option, only for whom, for us ? The market just falls into the abyss and the end of the edge of this fall is not even visible ! When will growth, interestingly who will see this growth, our children or our grandchildren ?

You'll average your price nicely buying ETH this way  Grin

Who can tell me when there will be forging in the application. Maybe it already appeared and I just can not activate it? I have been trying for a long time to do it.

It is there is already. You can see forging status in uppper menu:

http://prntscr.com/kq0ys4

You can on and off it by pressing on forging label.

But forging is still to support the network and testing purposes right know isn't it ? or does it actually lead to some kind of rewards ? Anyway if it supports the network i will try to set one up.

Forging makes new blocks, so yes it is necessary for the network to function and exist. In reward the forging account gets transaction fees.
The more nodes in the network the better. If you want to support XEL you should definitely set up and run one.

How to setup Elastic Mainnet node

Found this on the discord channel and I think it's very useful so putting it here (provided by Koja)

Guys, don't you think it's a good idea to send out Blockfolio Signals from time to time?

I think it's a great idea and it was brought up already but no visible response here yet form the devs.

You guys should start sending out Blockfolio Signals.  That would get your project a lot of attention and the success it really deserves for all the amazing work you are doing.

I am yet to see any proof of any dev activity at all here.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - Free Airdrop on: August 30, 2018, 03:36:30 PM
Great to see all the progress here.  When is smart contract support coming out?

Would like to hear the plans for something like Dash's InstantX over the BFT nodes?

Interesting idea with the InstantX... How does this work in Dash? Maybe it would be simpler to achieve in this Semux since there's no forking in BFT and we have a finite number of BFT nodes....

Don't forget to join the xel discord! It's where all action takes place!!!

https://discord.gg/t4Jn2a
Now probably the most relevant service is discord. I have very often noticed that the latest and fastest news get out.

I agree discord channel is good and getting even better also more people joins which is great.

Manipulation I think is the big reason for the price dump. I have a feeling the price will look much different in 6-12 months...
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [WGR] | Wagerr | The Betting Blockchain | Bounties on: August 28, 2018, 03:58:16 PM
People bitching about wager this and wager that look at the number of masternodes:

Total: 2221 (IPv4: 2199 / IPv6: 3 / Tor: 19 / Unknown: 0)

2221 masternodes in the notwork. Not 22, not 50 but over 2000!

This shows the real support for the project.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: August 27, 2018, 06:05:29 PM
Tezos goes on and we had another #CYCLEDAY! The selected snapshot for cycle 17 was a block number 70912! Whoever   delegated before that block, has now some rewards cooking on his way. Check your position here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1D3YWCQKhVU6oqw6m_eK05o-q9wZXQMI3_Xje24Q4fIU/edit#gid=1732051125

The 10% fee is crazy high for what a baker is required to do....
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: August 26, 2018, 07:12:04 PM
To be honest I don't know much about this project but i Bought some tokens on exchanges while it doesn't have big listnings )

One of the weirdest things that Tezos has no big listing yet. Hundreds of millions of funds but no listing. Weird?

Patience my friend Smiley This situation won't last forever.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - Free Airdrop on: August 26, 2018, 10:13:33 AM
This is a nice project but everything is too complicated and it has a steep learning curve, compared to other coins.

I do not think Semux is complicated at all.
For an average Joe the flow is VERY SIMPLE:
- download wallet
- run it
- send and receive coins

What's so complicated?

If you care how the consensus work then educate yourself. If you don't understand something then ask questions.
